Chapter Nine: The Queen Family...Part: 2...
The week went by fast, Oliver managed to get Robert and Moria to agree to have dinner with Kara, It was happening Saturday night.
Well it was happening today (in their time) Kara was in her room getting dressed.
Starling City: Danvers Household — Saturday, August 22, 2007
Kara had gone through several different dresses and outfits with the help of Eliza and she still couldn't decide on what to wear.
Her panic increased when she heard the sound of Oliver's car pulling up to her home, then the doorbell rang.
"It's Oliver..." she told Eliza "What am I supposed to do? I'm not even dressed!" she paced.
"Calm down sweetheart," Eliza smiled at her adoptive daughter "I'll let Oliver in while you focus on finding something."
Kara nodded with a tight smile as Eliza left her room.
Eliza went downstairs and opened the door to see Oliver holding a box, "Hello Oliver," Eliza smiled at the young man who responded with a 'Hi' as Eliza let him in "What's that?" she asked.
"Oh this is for Kara," Oliver smiled "I figured that she would stressing over what to wear."
"You figured right," Eliza chuckled "She's right upstairs in her room."
Oliver smiled with a nod and made his way upstairs.
Kara panicked more rushing through anything and everything in her closet as she heard Oliver make his way closer to her room then there was a knock at her door.
"Kara?" Oliver knocked "Kar?" he knocked again at her since.
Kara sighed and made herself walk to open the door.
"Hi" she smiled nervously.
"Hi" Oliver smiled at her "Is that what you're wearing?" he asked smirking at the white towel that was wrapped around her body "Not that I'm complaining or anything," he said "But we're going to dinner with my family."
"Shut up!" Kara groaned walking away from the door as Oliver walked in shutting it behind him "I can't find anything to wear!" she said.
"Luckily you have a super awesome boyfriend who bought you this dress!" Oliver held out the box.
"Ollie, you didn't have too" Kara told him.
"No, I wanted to," Oliver smiled at her, Kara sighed taking the box "There's also a pair of shoes in there" he told her as she walked into the bathroom.
She opened the box and saw pink boots laying on top of a light pink dress, she took the shoes out first and set them aside pulling the dress out fully and saw it was lace off shoulder hoco dress.
She got changed quickly using her powers and now all she had to do was her hair which was simple, she just curled it and let it all hang in the back.
Kara left the bathroom to find Oliver sitting on her bed on his phone.
"Done." She smiled.
Oliver looked up at her smiling, his mouth opened slightly at the sight in front of him.
"Are we going to leave or you just going stare?" she chuckled with a blush.
"Yes."
Kara laughed walking closer to Oliver "Baby, we have to leave we're already late" she told him softly.
"Right," Oliver stood up grabbing her hand and leaving wishing Eliza a good night before leaving.
Starling City: Flavor-Fusion Bistro
Oliver arrived at the restaurant as Kara gawked at the restaurant, Flavor-Fusion Bistro, is one of the most fanciest restaurant in Starling City, it's for rich people only.
Kara moved to get out but Oliver stopped her "Wait," he said before getting out and walking over to her door "Now you may get out" he smirked holding out his hand.
Kara let out a playful scoff before reaching to take Oliver's hand, he wrapped his arm around Kara's handing his keys to the valet attendant.
Oliver held the door open for Kara then followed behind her, spotting his parents and sister at a table, he grabbed Kara's hand lacing his fingers in hers as he lead her to the table.
"Mother," Oliver said gaining the three attention "Father," he nodded to her parents.
"Oliver, you're late," Moria told her eyes "I suppose that was your doing, Miss Danvers," she eyed Kara.
Kara opened her mouth but Oliver cut her off "Actually mother," he started "It's my fault, I had to stop and get gas before going to get Kara" he told Moria.
Moria only nodded, Oliver pulled out a chair for Kara before sitting in the one next to her.
The entire table was silent as everyone looked at their menus deciding on what to drink.
"So Kiera —" Robert started but Oliver stopped him.
"It's Kara dad, not Keira."
"I'm sorry," Robert said "Kara," he said it correctly "Tell us something about yourself."
"Uh...I like to sing," Kara smiled politely.
"Singing?" Moria said and Kara nodded "Do you plan on making that your life career?" she questioned.
"No," Kara shook her head "I don't know what I'm going to do in life yet" she told Moria.
Moria nodded just as the waiter came over to their table.
"Hi my name is Jake Puckerman and I'll be..." Jake paused as he saw Kara, Kara looked up at him at the sound of his voice "I'll be your...uh...waiter tonight," he said clearing his throat "What can I get you to drink?" he asked.
"I'll have a sprite," Thea said.
"I'll also take a sprite," Robert told Jake.
"I'll have a glass of wine," Moria said "Lord knows I'll need it" she mumbled.
"I'll just have some water," Oliver told him.
Jake nodded as he wrote down their orders, "And you Miss?" he looked at Kara.
"I'll have some water also," Kara gave Jake a small smile.
He nodded taking down her drink order "I'll be right back with your orders" he smiled at the table then left.
"He's hot," Thea smirked as her eyes followed Jake's back.
"Thea Dearden Queen!" Moria said sharply "We do not talk about people like that!" she snapped quietly.
"What!? He is!" Thea defended herself "Come on Kara! You agree with me right!?" Thea turned to Kara.
Kara quickly looked up at Thea and shook her head "No," she said told Thea feeling Oliver's eyes on her.
"So Miss Danvers," Moria started "I did some background research on you," she told Kara catching her attention.
"What?" Kara said shocking.
"Dear..." Robert warned.
"Mother, I told you to drop this" Oliver said.
"And I want you to know who you're dating not based on some pretty looks" Moria said.
Thea looked between her mother and brother.
"Mother..."
"It's fine," Kara said placing her hand on Oliver's leg "What did you find?" she asked Moria.
"Well it say that you family died in a fire," Moria started and Kara nodded.
"When I was 12."
"You were the only survivor? Then was put into foster care?"
"Yes where I was adopted by the Danvers."
"But then you had to change your name to Marley Rose...?"
Kara was about to respond when Jake came back with their drinks "Yes," she nodded "I had to change my name to Marley Rose because I went to stay with my cousin who was helping be grieve my parents."
"Uhm..." Jake cleared his throat "Two sprites, two waters, and one wine," he sat the drinks on the table "Can I take your food orders now?"
"No dear," Moria said to the boy "We'll let you know when we're ready" she told him.
Jake nodded and walked away.
"You were saying something about your cousin?" Moria said.
"Yes, he lived in Ohio at the time and I had to go stay with him before and change my identity for some reasons..." Kara said.
"What was those reasons?" Moria pushed.
"I'm not comfortable with telling you that..." Kara played with her glasses.
"Why not?" Moria asked.
"Mother..."
"Mom..."
"Dear..."
"It's just something I don't like to talk about," Kara said softly shifting in her seat.
Jake watched the table that Kara sat at with the Queen family, he saw how she shifted uncomfortably.
"Is that all?" he asked the other table he was severing.
"Yes," the man nodded.
"Your dinner will be out right away," Jake gave them a smile before heading towards the kitchen giving the chef their order before going back to the Queen table.
"Hi," Jake said interrupting whatever Moria was about to say "Are you ready to order now?"
"No we're —"
"Ma'am you have to order or you have to leave" Jake cut off Moria who rolled her eyes at him.
"We understand," Robert said "I'll have a grilled steak with the side of a salad and fries" he ordered as Jake took down his order.
"I'll have a salad," said Moria.
Jake nodded taking down her order, he turned to Thea.
"Just a bowl of soup with some crackers."
"I'll have a double cheeseburger with bacon, and a side of fries." Oliver ordered.
Jake nodded.
"I'll just have a chicken leg with mash potatoes." Kara told him.
Jake nodded with a smile at Kara then walking away.
"It seems like our hot waiter has a thing for Kara," Thea smirked.
"Shut up Thea." Oliver growled.
"Back to business..." Moria started.
"No mother," Oliver spoke "Stop asking my girlfriend about her past, it's her business not yours or mine" he said.
"It is yours and mines since she's dating you!" Moria quietly snapped "For all we know she could be using you for your money!"
"Mother-"
"With all due respect Mrs. Queen," Kara cut Oliver off "I am not using Oliver for his money, I didn't even know who he was the first time he asked me out," she told him "I have a past that I would like to keep a secret and those who I trust only know, I don't share with those who push me to tell them," she said firmly "So for the love of Ra—God please leave it at that," she added "I will tell you anything else just leave my past out of it." she finished.
The table grew quiet with Oliver and Thea smirking at Kara, Robert having a sly smile on his face while Moria just sat there no impressed look on her face.
"Hmm, very well" Moria said taking a sip of her wine.
A few minutes rolled around, Thea and Robert asked Kara questions about herself while Moria was silent, then Jake came giving them their meals.
"Excuse me," Kara said as Jake placed Theas plate in front of her.
Kara stood up and walked towards the ladies room "I'll go check on her," Oliver stood up following Kara.
Kara stood there with her glasses off splashing water in her face, although it had only been a few minutes since Moria questioning her, she was still stressed out.
She dried her face, as the door opened, "Kara?" Oliver said.
Kara turned around throwing away the paper towel, putting her glasses back on "Ollie?" she said "What are you doing in here?" she asked.
"I came to check on you," he told her shutting the door.
"In the ladies room?" Kara asked.
"I know how hard my mother could be on people, mostly the girls I date," he told her.
"I'm not a gold digger just because you used to date some of them."
"I know baby," Oliver said "I've told her that but she doesn't believe me," he took her in his arms.
Kara nodded burying her head in his neck.
"And the whole snapping at my mother was hot," he smirked.
"Really?" Kara asked looking up at Oliver.
"Yes," Oliver smiled "No one has never gone off on her like and technically you're always hot" he added with a kiss.
Kara hummed into the kiss her hands going around his neck now, "We should get back," she told him.
That night was probably one of the most stressful nights of Kara's life, but the rest went off, Moria never questioned or spoke to her just Robert while her Thea became closer bonding on how they loved Taylor Swift.
Oliver watched his sister and girlfriend gush over her songs with a smile on his face, loving how they got along.
Once the dinner came to an end Thea wanted to ride make back with Oliver and Kara to take Kara home, Moria of course was against it but Robert let her go.
