A/N: So I looked it up and saw that Kara's earth birthday is on September 11, so this chapter will be the ball and next chapter will be her birthday!

Chapter Eleven: Balls and Birthday

Starling City: Lance Household — Monday, September 10, 2007

Laurel and Kara were in Laurel's room getting ready for the dance. "So does his family do this every year on fall brake?" Kara asked from Laurels bathroom.

"Sometimes," Laurel said from the other side of the door "They'd do it any point in September."

"Right," Kara said opening the door to exit the bathroom "I guess since I'm her girlfriend I should get used to this stuff right?" she laughed nervously.

"Pretty much."

"How do I look?" Kara spun around and lifted up her dress to show Laurel her look.

Her dress was a long layered green dress with sequins going from the top to the middle, it had thin straps going over her shoulders, her shoes were green velvet heels that crossed over her feet, her shiny long blonde hair flowed down her back with waves, her make up made her blue eyes stand out.

"You look wonderful!" Laurel smiled "How do I look?"

Laurel had on a long black dress layers just like Kara's, she had silver sequins over her dress with thin straps, her heels were also black with jewels on them, her hair was wavy and part of it were braided to the back ending with curls, her make up blended with her brown eyes.

"You look stunning!" Kara exclaimed, she heard her phone vibrate in her purse, she walked over and picked it up.

"It's Barry," she turned to Laurel "He says that he and Winn are on the way."

"Okay," Laurel smiled.

Kara's phone rang in her hand "Is that your lover boy?" Laurel teased.

"No," Kara laughed "It's Alex, my sister," she said.

Kara hadn't heard from Alex since she left for college and their little argument over Kara dating Oliver.

"Do you mind if I take this?"

"Not at all."

Kara went outside of Laurels room and in the hall, "Hey Al," Kara smiled.

"Hey Kara," Alex's voice went over the phone "It took you awhile to answer are you with some friends?"

"Uh yeah," Kara said "I'm with a friend we're getting ready to go to a dance."

"Kara Danvers and a social event?" Alex teased "No way," she laughed.

"Hahaha," Kara mocked "So why'd you call?"

"I wanted to wish you a happy earth birthday, just in case I don't get a chance tomorrow."

"Thank you," Kara smiled.

"You're welcome," Alex said "So I'm coming home this week."

"You are?" Kara got excited "That means you could meet Oliver!"

"Yeah," Alex sighed "There's someone I want you and mom to meet too."

"Great! Can't wait to meet them!"

"Alright Kara, I have to go now."

"Okay," Kara said "Bye."

"Bye."

Starling City: Queen Mansion

Oliver stood outside his house greeting guests as they arrived, "Hi welcome to the Queen..." he trailed off seeing it was Kara and his friends he was talking to.

"Wow," he gushed at Kara "You look lovely."

"Thanks," Kara blushed "You look handsome."

"And here comes the compliments," Barry rolled his eyes playfully.

"Shut up" Oliver glared at Barry then turned back to Kara "I have to greet more people, but I'll meet you back?"

"I'll be waiting" Kara kisses his cheek before Laurel dragged her away.

A few more guest arrived, Olivia was greeting a married couple when he heard a familiar high pitched voice.

"Hi Ollie!" Taylor smiled at Oliver and she had Noah as her arm candy.

"Hi Taylor and Noah," Oliver forced a smile.

"Sup bro," Noah smiled.

Moria was walking out with someone following her "Oliver dear," she caught her sons attention just as Taylor and Noah walked past her "Your free to to leave, Todd here will take over while you enjoy the night."

Oliver nodded with a smile walking off to find Kara.

Kara was standing by a table with Winn and Cisco while Barry and Caitlin were dancing along with Tommy and Laurel.

"So Kara," Cisco said "Winn told me you're in Glee?"

"Yeah."

"Well the school is having a Beauty and The Beast musical play, and I think you'd make a perfect Belle." Cisco told her.

Cisco was part of the theater, he helped build the sets and come up with ideas for school plays.

"I'll...I'll uh have to see about that," Kara chuckled nervously "I'm not really big on school plays."

"It's the same thing as performing a song with Glee during Nationals or whatever," Cisco told him.

"I'll see," Kara smiled just as Oliver's arms wrapped her around her waist kissing her neck.

"See about what?" He asked.

"Oliver, tell your girlfriend she'd make a fantastic Belle for our school play." Winn said.

"Of course she'll make a fantastic Belle," Oliver said "You should try out."

"I'll be swamped, between classes, homework, and Glee, doing a play will be too much."

"You'd have friends to help you keep up on school work," Winn told her "and I'm positive Mr. Schuester will allow you to take brakes just for the play," he added.

"Okay fine!" Kara gave in with a smile "Just tell me when try outs are and I'll be there," she tells Cisco.

"You'll be the first to know."

"Great now may I take my girlfriend dancing?" Oliver asked.

"What happened to Oliver "I don't dance" Queen?" Kara asked referring to the moment she tried to get him to dance with her in her bedroom.

"I kind of have too, my parents force me to dance just to show everyone the dance classes the paid for paid off."

"Well then let's show everyone," Kara smiled at Oliver.

After what felt like hours of dancing Oliver managed to sneak off to his room with Kara and their friends.

"So this is the room of Oliver Queen?" Cisco asked "Not what I expected."

"What did you expect?" Oliver asked sitting on his bed Kara beside him.

"Exercising equipment, posters of hot women from Bay Watch."

"No that's my room," Tommy said and everyone laughed.

"Kara, I saw Noah downstairs," Caitlin told Kara.

"Yeah, I saw him too," Kara shrugged "He kept staring at me while dancing with Taylor."

"That little creep," Oliver muttered.

"Ollie it's fine, he knows not to touch me otherwise my cousin will deal with him."

"I've see her cousin, super strong and muscular," Winn said.

"At least he doesn't describe your cousin how he describes Superman."

Winn blushed at his boyfriend's comment, Kara winced slightly, she's heard Winn describe both Clark and Superman who both are her cousin.

"Enough about Schott and his little crush on the Man of Steel," Tommy said "I wanna play a game."

"Oh god Tommy no!" Laurel groaned "Ever dance we have school or not you end up having alcohol wanting a to play a game then something comes out and bad things happen. No games this time." She tells him firmly.

"Fine no games," Tommy held his hands up "I'm going back to the party, Ms. Lance would you care to join me?" he stood up offering a hand to Laurel.

Laurel rolled her eyes as she took Tommy's hand as he helped her up leaving.

"I think I'm going to take Caitlin home," Barry said standing up and helping Caitlin up "Can you two mange to get home?" he asked Winn and Kara.

"I'll take both of them home," Cisco told Barry.

"Thanks man," Barry nodded leading Caitlin out the room.

"Cisco you don't have to take me home, I think I'll stay a little longer than you guys," Kara said "Oliver could probably drop me off in the morning if that's okay with him."

"Yeah that's cool with me more time with you," Oliver smiled at his girlfriend.

Cisco nodded turning towards Winn "You wanna go back to the party or leave?" he asked his boyfriend.

"Home. Don't want my foster parents to worry." Winn answered, Cisco nodded. Both boys left Oliver and Kara alone.

"Their not very subtle," Kara laughed softly.

"No they aren't," Oliver smiled at Kara "But I'm happy that I get a moment alone with you," he told her.

"Really? Why is that?"

"Because you're my girlfriend, and you're so sweet and adorable and everything lights up when I'm around you," he tells her.

"Wow you have a way with words Mister Queen."

"Yeah, so Barry let it slip out that tomorrow is your birthday," Oliver said and Kara nodded "and I wanted to give you something as a early birthday present," hey got off his bed walking to his dresser.

"Ollie, you didn't have to," Kara said softly following Oliver's movements with her eyes.

"I wanted to," Oliver told her pulling out a box out his drawer "I have a big surprise set out for tomorrow actually."

"Oliver you really don't have to do that."

"Kara," Oliver turned around walking back to the bed "Your my girlfriend, I want to gift you things."

He hold on the dark blue rectangular box, Kara smiles and takes it, she opened the box a small gasp escaped her mouth.

It was a gold necklace with a pink heart and diamonds going around it.

"Ollie, it's beautiful," Kara looked up at her boyfriend.

"Just like you."

Kara lifted it out the box "Can you put it on?" she asked him.

"Of course," Oliver smiled, Kara shifted in the bed to turn so Oliver could place it around her neck "I love you Kara Danvers."

"I love you too Oliver Queen."
