Epilogue: The Goodbye
Senior year rolled by without anymore drama, Kara and Oliver announced to all of their family and friends that they were engaged a week after it happened.
Everyone was happy for them except Moria, Alex, and Clark, but Alex and Clark came around eventually, but Moria stuck her ground still showing her dislike for Kara.
The couple had decided to wait until they both finished college and was set up until they were married, but then Oliver suddenly dropped out of college to take on his family's business.
Things were great, the couple had rocky times while Kara was still in college and Oliver off being busy all the time but they made up without fighting unless it was serious, they've had a couple of breaks from each other but got back together. In the end they always made it through.
Oliver was now going on a trip with his father for some business.
Starling City: Boarding Docs
November 21, 2009
Oliver watched as the men put his luggage on the boat, his father standing near him speaking about something his phone buzzed he pulled it out.
S: Pulling up now.
Oliver smiled slightly at his phone as she heard someone call him name "Ollie!"
He looked up to see Kara smiling walking over to him.
O: Come around, Kara's here.
"Hey sunshine," Oliver smiled at his fiancé, he had always felt guilty for what he was doing to Kara behind her back but he couldn't stop. "What are you doing here?" he gave her a peck.
"I wanted to give you something that'll remind you of home," Kara pulled out a photo of her around Christmas time, she was a brunette back then now her hair was blonde.
Oliver smiled at the picture giving her another loving kiss this time the guilt growing.
"I love it sunshine," he whispered.
"Son!" Robert called out to Oliver "We have to leave now!"
"I'll be right there dad!" Oliver called back before turning to Kara "I'll see you when I get back?"
Kara nods giving him one last kiss before walking off playing with her ring on her finger.
Lance Household
Kara walked through the Lance house hearing Laurel talking with her parents on the couch, "Hey Kara!" Quentin smiled up at Kara noticing her.
After they graduated high school Eliza moved to Midvale being offered a job at one of his science labs, Alex had moved to National City along with J'onn to work at the DEO building there. Barry and the West family had moved back to Central along with Cisco and Caitlin who both moved there to go to Central University, and Winn had stayed in Starling City with Kara.
Kara wanted to stay in Starling City with Oliver, not wanting to be apart from him, Laurel's family allowed her to stay with them until she and Laurel found their own apartment, Tommy and Oliver offered to help them pay for the apartment but both girls turned them down.
"Hi," Kara waves a smile on her face.
"Did you get to say goodbye to Oliver?" Dinah, Laurel's mother, asked.
"Yes," Kara nodded, she placed a hand on her stomach "I'm going to go up to my room."
The three nodded watching as she made her way upstairs.
Kara sat in the bathroom that she shared with Laurel, staring at the stick.
How could this have happened? A human couldn't possibly get me pregnant.
She thought, just as she heard a loud shout and Dinah calling her name.
"Kara!"
Kara immediately rushed down the stairs into the living area where everyone sat Laurel in Quentin's arms as she cried.
"What's the matter?" Kara looked at them as Laurel shakily pointed to the TV, Kara's gaze followed Laurel's point her heart dropping at the news.
"We have a report, the Queen's Gambit has been caught in terrible storm, the Gambit had Robert Queen and his son Oliver Queen on it..."
The rest was muted out as Kara began breathing heavily tears streaming down her face, she backed into a wall Dinah quickly making her way over to the young girl holding her.
"No..." Kara muttered into Dinah's arms.
Several seconds later there was a knock at the door, Quintin got up to open it, "Moria," he said her name "Come in," he allowed her in.
Moria stepped in her saddened look on her face, obviously grieving her son and husband.
She looked around her eyes landing on Kara who cried "Oh dear child," Moria walked over to her "I am so sorry," she whispered running a hand through Kara's hair, actually meaning everything.
"I'm sorry to all of you as well," she turned to face the Lance's "We received video footage from the docs...it was Sara sneaking onto the gambit."
Everyone in the room froze, Quintin and his wife quickly began to cry as Laurel cried harder for her friend and her sister.
Kara cried a little harder as Dinah made her way over to Laurel hugging her daughter.
Moria took Kara into her arms shocking Kara even more, she didn't want to protest right now she just accepted the hug.
"I'm sorry," Moria whispered in Kara's ear, this is the most affectionate Moria has been with Kara since she and Oliver started dating.
"He...he was your son," Kara sniffed.
"True but he was your lover," Moria whispered "And the father of your child..."
So there we are! This book is officially finished!!!
Sorry if you were hoping that Oliver wouldn't cheat on Kara with Sara...but it felt wrong not to go somewhat with the original plot line of that happening.
