(A/N: I do not own Paw Patrol, enjoy!)

Hot Pursuit

Chase was laser focused as he closed in behind Gasket. The grey Malamute was swerving all over the road as she tried in vain to evade pursuit. Augie was helping Chase by warning him of oncoming traffic and telling him which way to dodge. Skye was just above them, never losing sight of their quarry.

"You are clear of oncoming traffic, Chase," the flying Cockapoo reported.

"I'm moving in," Chase barked.

Chase nudged his cruiser closer, ready to perform a PIT maneuver.

"CHASE! SKYE! BACK OFF, ITS A TRAP!"

Perfectly on cue, Gasket pressed a button on her motorcycle. Quick as a flash, something deployed out the back. As the device cleared its compartment, it rapidly extended to the full width of the road. Just as it hit the ground, razor sharp spikes extended upward.

Chase slammed on the brakes and wrenched the steering wheel over in an effort to avoid the spike strip. Augie hung on for dear life. It did no good, Chase was just too close and going too fast. The spike strip shredded all four of his tires, sending him spinning like a top until his cruiser came to rest on the side of the road.

"One down, one to go," Gasket cackled as she readied her next weapon.

Skye had looped up at Marshall's warning but was already closing back in. "I've still got eyes on Gasket," she reported as she closed in, her goggles zoomed in and focused on the fleeing Malamute.

"Not for long," Gasket said as she pressed her paw down on a different button.

Skye's goggles immediately went black. "Ah!" Skye yelped as she frantically tried to get her goggles to go back to normal. Skye once again pulled up to ensure she didn't hit anything.

"Can't chase what you can't see!" Gasket chortled as she made her escape.

Skye's goggles finally obeyed, returning to normal and restoring her vision. As she arced back down, she realized she didn't see Gasket anywhere. As she scanned her instruments, she realized that the only ones still working were her flight instruments. Frantic, Skye scanned the road, hoping to find any sign of Gasket.

She saw nothing. A chorus of electronic beeps alerted Skye that all her systems were finishing their reboot. As each came online, none of them showed any trace of the motorcycle riding Malamute.

"Ryder, Gasket escaped," Skye reported with a whine.

"Roger that, Skye," Ryder acknowledged. "What happened?"

"She used weapons on our vehicles," Skye replied. "She disabled all of my sensors and blacked out my goggles."

"And she dropped a spike strip right in front of me," Chase added.

"Are you both ok?" Ryder asked, his voice laden with concern.

"I'm fine now," Skye said first.

"We are good too," Chase added.

"We?" Ryder asked in surprise.

"Augie came with me," Chase admitted, shifting slightly so his tag showed the black Belgian shepherd in his backseat.

Ryder sighed in relief that all his pups were safe. Well, almost all of them. "Skye, hurry back, we need to transport Rocky to the hospital."

"No, to the Lookout," Marshall corrected firmly.

"Huh?" Ryder, Skye, and Cinder all gasped in surprise.

"Trust me," Marshall said.

"Ok, to the Lookout then," Ryder said.

"On my way," Skye replied.

"Chase, activate the emergency inflation system for your tires," Ryder directed. "Collect that spike strip and head to the Lookout as well."

"Will do Ryder," Chase replied.

"Fire appears to be out," Cinder softly reported from her perch in the cab of the ultimate fire truck. "Everest, get Marshall's fire pup pack and start checking for hot spots."

"You got it Cinder," Everest replied as she shut off her hose and ran over to where Marshall still stood over Rocky. Marshall had on his paramedic pack that Ryder had grabbed, his fire pack lying off to the side where he had dumped it. "You are going to be ok, Rocky," Everest encouraged.

"Never had a doubt," Rocky replied cheerily. Something about the way he said it made Everest do a double take. But she had a task at paw so she shrugged it off and went to start checking for hot spots. Marshall locked eyes with Rocky and smiled.

Chase was busy examining the spike strip that had disabled his cruiser. "How are we going to get this back?" he wondered out loud.

"Does it look like it collapses back down at all?" Augie asked from his perch in the cruiser.

"I don't know," Chase admitted as he examined it. "It was compressed when Gasket deployed it, but I can't see how it would shrink back down. It looks like pieces locked into place as it deployed."

"Is it possible the center piece is a button?" Augie asked, craning his neck to see.

"Maybe," Chase said. Hesitantly, he pressed it with his paw. Immediately, the sides of the spike strip retracted back to the center, forming a neat little box.

"That was easy," Augie noted with a smile.

"Too easy," Chase said suspiciously as he collected the box and put it in the back of his cruiser. Then the German shepherd jumped back up and started driving back. Nothing was said as both police pups contemplated the failed pursuit.

At the junkyard, Skye brought her copter into a hover. Marshall swiftly hooked up the spine board that Rocky was on to the tag lines underneath Skye's copter. With a final click, the paramedic pup was also secured. "Good to lift Skye," Marshall said over his tag.

"Next stop, Lookout," Skye confirmed as she lifted them up.

"How are we doing Cinder?" Ryder asked as he turned back after watching Skye leave.

"Almost done Ryder," Cinder softly reported.

"Found the HAZMAT," Everest called from the far side. "Looks like someone dumped a case of hand sanitizer."

"Rubble, cover it with sand," Cinder softly directed, "we'll come back and do a full clean up later."

"Let's dig it!" Rubble barked an acknowledgement.

Soon, all the hot spots were out. "Fire extinguished," Cinder softly reported to Ryder.

"Ok pups, let's head home," Ryder said with a sigh. Marshall had reported that they arrived safely at the Lookout, but nothing further on Rocky's condition.

The pups piled into the ultimate fire truck. Everest was behind the wheel as they drove back. "I'm surprised that Marshall hasn't taught you how to drive," Everest noted.

"He has offered," Cinder softly admitted, "but I keep turning him down."

"Why?" Everest asked in surprise.

"Because I enjoy being chauffeured around," Cinder softly admitted with a giggle. "But it is also a skill I would only use here. And I can just learn from his brain in a pinch if I need to in a hurry."

"Fair enough I suppose," Everest conceded. She parked the ultimate fire truck in front of the Lookout and everyone hopped down. "Marshall can put that away later," Everest decided.

Everyone walked inside and found Chase, Augie and Skye all sitting in the lounge area. "Marshall took him straight back and told us to wait until you got back," Chase reported.

"Well, let's go check on him then," Ryder said. As they approached the medical Bay, they could hear some sort of commotion inside. The door whooshed open and everyone stopped in surprise.

"You won't say a thing until I do, you got that, spotted brother of mine?" Rocky said sternly. He had the Dalmatian pinned on his back on the floor of the medical bay.

"Uh, what's going on?" Ryder asked in surprise.

"Ah, Ryder, just in time," Marshall said as he slipped out from under Rocky's paws to stand next to him. "Rocky is totally fine, not even a scratch."

"How is that possible?" Skye asked. "Gasket hit him over the head with a wrench!"

"Glad to know everything looked and sounded realistic," Rocky replied with a smile.

"But you were bleeding everywhere," Rubble stammered. "There is even some blood still in your fur."

"That will wash out whenever I take a bath next," Rocky replied with a shrug.

"Oh no, it is pewmanent," Zuma teased, making all the pups laugh.

"I don't understand, what is going on Rocky?" Ryder asked when the laughter died down.

"I'll explain soon, Ryder," Rocky promised, "but first I need you to do something…

Gasket wore a snug smirk on her face as she slowly made her way back to the diner that was the Ruff-Ruff Pack base. A beep told her it was time for the next phase of her plan. The Malamute accelerated to make sure she made her timeline.

"Where is Gasket?" Hubcap groused. "I'm hungry."

"I don't know," Dwayne stammered. Gasket had left that morning and not been seen since.

"What do you mean you don't know?!" Hubcap demanded angrily. "Go find her and tell her to bring back food!"

At that moment, the door to the diner burst open, revealing the missing Malamute in question.

"Hey Hubcap, I found her!" Dwayne reported proudly.

"Shut up Dwayne!" Hubcap spat angrily, making the pup shirk away from him. "Where have you been all day?"

"Out causing wheel trouble," Gasket said with a smirk that she knew infuriated Hubcap.

"Aww, without us?" Dwayne whined sadly.

"No, she hasn't," Hubcap asserted, "she is just saying that to cover for doing lame girly stuff all day."

"See for yourself," Gasket smirked as she walked past their TV, giving it a kick as she passed so it would turn on.

"We interrupt our currently scheduled program for a late breaking news update," the automated voice said.

Hubcap and Dwayne moved closer to see while Gasket walked around behind them, never losing her self-satisfied smirk.

"Good afternoon," the female newscaster greeted her unseen audience. "Many of you are aware of the junkyard fire this afternoon in Adventure Bay's junkyard."

"So, you lit some junk on fire, big deal," Hubcap said with a roll of his eyes.

"But in a stunning twist," the newscaster continued, "it has been revealed that the fire was actually deliberate sabotage of a new Paw Patrol invention. Furthermore, Rocky, the Paw Patrol's technology expert, was injured by the saboteur. The perpetrator was pursued by Chase and Skye, but through the unexpected use of stolen technology was able to escape. Our sources believe that Ruff-Ruff Pack member Gasket was behind the attack and remains at large. We will continue to update you as the story develops."

Hubcap and Dwayne turned to look at Gasket, who was sitting behind them, still wearing that same smirk. "Bashed him over the head with a wrench," the Malamute said smugly.

"Isn't that a bit aggressive?" Dwayne asked nervously. "He could actually be hurt."

"No, I don't believe it," Hubcap stammered angrily.

"Believe it," Gasket replied. "Arf, wrench!" Her wrench popped out, blood still dripping off of the end.

Hubcap looked at the wrench, then back at Gasket's smug smile. "No one outdoes me," the French bulldog growled angrily before turning and storming out.

"Are you in a lot of trouble, Gasket?" Dwayne asked worriedly.

"It may seem that way", Gasket replied, the smirk finally leaving her face, "but not as much as Hubcap is about to be in."

"He seems really upset that you didn't invite us for wheel trouble," Dwayne noted.

"That isn't why he is mad," Gasket gently corrected him, "he is mad because I did something so crazy that he hadn't even dreamed of it. Now, he is going to try and do something even crazier than me. But he won't succeed, the Paw Patrol will see to that. We just need to go look after him." Gasket rose and started towards the door.

"How are we going to do that, Gasket?" Dwayne asked.

Gasket paused and turned to look at her pack mate, locking eyes with him. "Do you trust me?" Gasket asked softly.

Dwayne paused. "Yes," he answered after a moment.

"Good," Gasket replied, gently cupping his muzzle affectionately with her paw. "Because we are going to have to do something crazy to take care of Hubcap."

"I'm ready to follow your lead," Dwayne replied, placing his paw on top of Gasket's.

Gasket smiled. "Let's go then." The two pups walked out of the diner side by side. A moment later, their motorcycles roared to life as they sped off after Hubcap.

"Are you sure this is going to work?" Chase asked Rocky for the tenth time, at least, since it had been revealed that he was actually fine.

"I'm sure," Rocky replied confidently. "Can you uphold your end?"

"I don't even know what to do," the agitated police pup replied. "I don't know the plan!"

"If it makes you feel any better, I don't have the details that would make you happy about the plan" Rocky said with a smile.

"Great, the brainiac doesn't even know the plan," Chase said in exasperation.

"He does," Augie noted, "he just doesn't want to share the parts he does know because he knows you won't like them."

Do you know, Marsh? Cinder softly thought to her twin.

No, but I trust Rocky Marshall replied.

But then what was he telling you not to say anything about when we walked in? Cinder inquired.

I can't think about that, then you would know Marshall replied.

Isn't that the point of me asking the question? Cinder mentally giggled.

I'm sure it is, but I promised so please don't make me break the promise Marshall begged.

Ok, I'll stop asking Cinder mentally backed off. She could tell that this was important to Marshall to keep his promise to Rocky.

*Beep beep* "Paw Patrol, to the Lookout!"

"Ryder needs us!" Echoed from every pup's mouth as they dropped what they were doing and raced to the Elevator. Marshall scooped Cinder onto his back while Chase collected Augie.

You better not crash this time Cinder warned her twin.

Why don't you drive then? Marshall offered snootily. Cinder just smiled.

As the pups all arrived in the elevator, they were stunned by what they saw. Marshall was running towards them like normal, but instead of tripping or falling, he was expertly negotiating everything. It almost looked like he was running an obstacle course. As Marshall pranced to a stop, every eye was on him.

"Ok, what gives?" Zuma demanded.

"Yeah, how come you didn't trip?" Rubble asked.

"Because he wasn't driving," Cinder softly giggled from his back. "But since you asked…" Marshall's paws abruptly flailed out in all directions, knocking all the other pups, except Chase with Augie on his back, over like dominos.

"So, you are saying it is possible for Marshall to not be clumsy?" Rocky asked from the bottom of the pile.

"Marshall, no," Cinder softly giggled, "R/C Marshall, yes!" Everyone laughed as the doors closed and they headed up to the control room.

The pups all jumped out to their spots and sat down. Chase set Augie down between himself and Rubble, while Marshall set Cinder down between himself and Everest. "Paw Patrol ready for action Ryder sir!" Chase sounded off.

"Thanks for hurrying pups," Ryder said as he began the briefing. "It looks like Rocky was right. We have one motorcycle heading toward town. We don't know what sort of trouble the rider will cause, but we need to stop it and keep everyone safe."

"How are we going to do that, Wyder?" Zuma asked.

"Great question, Zuma," Ryder responded, "I'm going to deploy some of you to key spots around town to keep everyone safe. Zuma, I need you to head to the beach."

"Let's dive in!" the chocolate water rescue pup sounded off.

"Marshall, head to the park," Ryder instructed.

"I'm ready for a Ruff Ruff Rescue!" Marshall sounded off.

"Everest, head to the Café," Ryder directed.

"Ice or Snow I'm ready to Go!" Everest sounded off.

"Rubble, head to the water tower," Ryder said.

"Rubble on the double!" Rubble sounded off.

"Skye will provide overwatch for everyone," Ryder explained.

"This pup's gotta fly!" Skye sounded off with her signature backflip.

"And Chase, take him down," Ryder finished.

"Chase is on the case!" Chase sounded off and slamming his paw down on the floor, determined not to let this one escape.

"Alright, Paw Patrol is on a roll!" Ryder declared as he ran to his pole. All the pups howled as he slid down. One by one, the pups slid down to their vehicles and headed out.

"Why do I feel like somewhere important is missing coverage?" Augie said.

"Because it is," Rocky replied matter-of-factly as he effortlessly configured the display.

"Why is that?" Cinder softly asked.

"You should know, you did this recently," Rocky replied.

"You are setting a trap," Cinder softly completed the thought.

"Bingo," Rocky replied as he pressed the last key to bring up the trap in question on the display.

"City hall?" Augie recognized the building.

"And Mayor Goodway," Cinder softly yipped.

"Precisely," Rocky smiled.

"Skye, do you have a visual yet?" Ryder asked.

"Almost," Skye replied. "Arf, Goggles!" Skye's vision immediately magnified and her gaze went to the direction of the inbound motorcycle. "I see him, Ryder, it's Hubcap!"

"Just like Rocky predicted," Ryder muttered to himself. "Chase, do you copy?"

"I copy Ryder," Chase replied, "I'm closing in."

"Just be careful," Ryder reminded him, "we don't know if he has the same gadgets that Gasket used."

"Don't worry, Ryder, I got this," Chase said confidently.

That's what he thought about Gasket Skye reminded herself. Chase might think this was going to be a walk in the park but Skye was not going to let the same thing happen to her again.

Hubcap was angry as he raced towards Adventure Bay. Not only had Gasket gone off on her own without telling him, but she had also actually successfully caused wheel trouble. Maybe she had gone a bit too far with actually hurting Rocky, but Hubcap also knew that he had to upstage her if he wanted to keep control of the pack. He knew the only reason he was the pack leader was because he said so. If he couldn't bully Gasket into following him, he would not be the leader of the pack. The whirring of helicopter blades snapped Hubcap's focus onto that task as a pink and grey helicopter buzzed over him.

"The road is clear, Chase," Skye reported.

"Setting up roadblock now," Chase informed Ryder. With a bark, cones flew out the back of his cruiser to block the road. Spinning around, Chase parked his cruiser across a narrow spot in the road between two boulders to block it as best as he could. And he waited.

As Hubcap crested a hill, he saw the roadblock waiting for him. "Ah!" he yelped as he quickly tried to find a way out. He swerved wildly as he closed on Chase.

"He is going to ram you, Chase!" Skye yipped the warning.

Chase ducked down inside the cockpit of his cruiser and braced for impact.

"Ahhh!" Hubcap continued to yelp. By chance, his motorcycle hit a rock that caused it to jump up onto one of the boulders. Hubcap's yelp of fear turned into a laugh as he circumvented the obstacle.

"Roadblock failed," Chase growled in frustration as he took off after Hubcap.

"I've still got him; he is heading towards the beach," Skye provided information to the other waiting pups.

"Ready," Everest acknowledged as she blocked the road with her snowcat.

"Not going this way dude," Zuma added as he blocked off the beach.

"Grr!" Hubcap growled in frustration as he whipped his motorcycle off in a new direction.

"You aren't going to cause any trouble here, Hubcap" Rubble said as he blocked off the water tower.

"There has to be someplace where there is no Paw Patrol" Hubcap grumbled as he changed direction again.

"He is heading towards City Hall," Skye reported.

Hubcap whipped his motorcycle around the corner of the building and then immediately under the cover of some bushes and trees on the backside of the building.

"I've lost visual," Skye reported, frustration evident in her tone.

Chase wanted to pound his head on his steering wheel but as he skidded to a stop in front of City Hall, he knew he couldn't give up. "Everyone, close-in on City Hall, setup a perimeter two blocks out. He is here somewhere."

"Good thinking Chase," Ryder commended him. "Why don't you sniff around and see if you can pick up Hubcap's trail."

"Already on it, Ryder," Chase replied as he jumped down from his cruiser and started sniffing.

Hubcap snuck out from cover and into City Hall through the back door. The way he figured, in order to upstage Gasket, he had to do something big, and what could be bigger than abducting the Mayor of Adventure Bay?

Mayor Goodway was humming a tune as she finished up for the day. "I think the just about does it, Chickaletta. What do you say to dinner at Mr. Porter's?" Her purse chicken clucked excitedly. "I knew you'd like that idea," Mayor Goodway cooed. "Let me just put everything away and then we'll be on our way."

At that moment, the big double door to her office burst open. "Time to go Mayor Goodway," a voice said gruffly from the other side.

"Go? Go where?" Mayor Goodway questioned as she stood to peer over her desk.

"Go for a ride," Hubcap said with a malicious grin as he jumped up on Mayor Goodway's desk.

"Ah! One of you ruffians," Mayor Goodway replied with displeasure. "Haven't you caused enough trouble today?"

"You ain't seen nothing yet," Hubcap informed her, "now, move it."

"I'm not going anywhere," Mayor Goodway replied stubbornly.

"Then I guess I'll be having chicken for dinner tonight," Hubcap said with a nod in Chickaletta's direction.

"Ugh, fine," Mayor Goodway acquiesced as she walked out and Chickaletta jumped into her purse. "You are a very naughty pup."

"Music to my ears," Hubcap said with a smile as he kept prodding Mayor Goodway towards the back door.

Hubcap poked his head out first to make sure no one was waiting. "Come on," he said gruffly as he tugged Mayor Goodway out after him.

"You know you are going to get caught," Mayor Goodway reminded him.

"Be quiet and get in," Hubcap growled, motioning to his sidecar with his paw.

"I think I hear Skye's copter circling right now…" Mayor Goodway continued.

Hubcap bit back a terse reply as he impatiently waited for the mayor to get in.

Chase was sniffing around inside City Hall when he finally caught a scent. "Mayor Goodway!" He yelped as he realized the track went from the back door towards her office.

The police pup ran to their office and found it empty. "Ryder, Hubcap may have kidnapped Mayor Goodway!" he reported over his pup tag.

"Track him down buddy," Ryder replied, trusting Chase to know what to do.

Chase retraced the trail back, quickly but methodically. It led him to the back door of City Hall. Chase burst out the door to the roar of a motorcycle.

"You're too late, Chase!" Hubcap taunted as he sped away.

"Help, Chase!" Mayor Goodway yelled.

"Skye, Hubcap is making a break for it!" Chase called in the flying Cockapoo for support. "Help everyone try to cut off his escape."

"On it," Skye replied, "Marshall, Everest, cut him off by the park."

"You won't get away with this Hubcap," Chase promised as he sprinted back to his cruiser. With a mighty leap, Chase landed in the cockpit. The seatbelt automatically buckled and he took off in hot pursuit.

"Where should we block the road?" Marshall asked Everest.

"Over here, by the jungle gym," Everest replied. "That way it forms a complete barrier that he can't get past."

"Good idea, you are so smart," Marshall agreed.

"Just get your truck in position," Everest said, her fur flushing slightly. Both pups moved their vehicles into position and got themselves ready.

Hubcap rounded the corner and immediately realized that his escape was blocked. "Told you that the Paw Patrol would stop you" Mayor Goodway said harassingly.

"Not for long," Hubcap replied defiantly. He veered towards the swing set and accelerated.

"What is he doing?" Augie asked from the control room. "He is trapped, Chase is coming up fast behind him."

"He is going to try and slingshot himself," Rocky realized.

Hubcap ran full speed into the swing, catching his bike in the handlebars and sending it for a loop around the set. Each time his bike came around, it went faster and the chains got shorter.

Chase arrived just got in time to see the outcome. Hubcap's motorcycle reached escape velocity as the swing chains became stuck, flinging him and his passengers up into the air, soaring over Marshall and Everest. The Paw Patrol pups could only look up in shocked surprise.

"Mayor Goodway is flying out of the sidecar!" Cinder gasped.

"AHHHHH!" Mayor Goodway and Hubcap screamed.

Ryder saw it too. "Skye, now is your chance, catch Mayor Goodway and Chickaletta with your harness."

"Swooping in," Skye replied. "Arf, harness!"

Obediently, her harness deployed. Like a professional stunt pilot, Skye flew in to catch the free-flying major. "Gotcha!" Skye yipped triumphantly as she caught Mayor Goodway.

"NOOOO!" Hubcap screamed in frustration as he and his motorcycle kept falling away.

"After him, Chase, don't let him get away," Ryder directed. "Marshall, make sure Mayor Goodway and Chickaletta are alright."

Marshall and Everest immediately cleared a path for Chase who sped past them. Skye set Mayor Goodway down in the park next to Marshall's fire truck. "Thank you, Skye," Mayor Goodway called up with a wave.

"No problem," Skye replied with a smile as she flew off after Hubcap.

"How are you feeling Mayor Goodway?" Marshall asked.

"Much better now that we are on solid ground, aren't we Chickaletta?" Mayor Goodway replied. The chicken squawked in reply to everyone's amusement.

At that moment, they heard sirens that they didn't recognize. They turned just in time to see two black police cars with blue stripes that dovetailed into flames along the sides tear past them at a high rate of speed. "Who is that?" Everest gasped in surprise.

"Backup is here," Rocky said with a smile as he got up and trotted to the slide.

"Where are you going?" Augie asked in surprise.

"To close the trap," Rocky replied with a knowing smile before sliding down the slide.

Hubcap landed his motorcycle with a more than audible crunch, both of motorcycle parts and internal organs. "Owwwwie," he groaned as he resituated himself. The song of a siren closing on him reminded him that this was not over yet. "They got the mayor back, why can't they just leave me alone?" he growled in frustration as he screeched around a corner to head for the highway.

Chase manipulated the controls on his cruiser to drift around the corner precisely as he wanted. He let a little growl escape his muzzle as he realized where Hubcap was heading. The highway was one of Hubcap's favorite escape routes because he knew Chase would never take a chance at endangering everyone else with a high-speed chase there. As he merged onto the highway, he wondered how long he would be able to maintain pursuit. Then his ear picked up sirens that he didn't recognize. "Huh?" Chase asked quizzically, sparing a moment to look behind him for the sound.

He caught barely a glimpse of the two jet black police cars sprint past him, one on either side. He too noticed the blue stripes feathered into flames at the back of the cars. Everything about their design screamed speed, from the slick lights built into the roofs to the aerodynamic body style. And Chase thought he saw a glimpse of a pup driving one. "Ryder, are you seeing this?" Chase called hesitantly over his pup tag.

"Backup is here, Chase," Rocky answered instead. "Keep up if you can…" There was no mistaking the challenge in Rocky's tone so Chase slammed his paws down on the pedals, intent on doing just that.

"Skye, fly ahead and see if you can get the drivers to the side of the road ahead of Hubcap," Rocky directed. "Also, see if you can get drivers to stop getting on the freeway."

"10-4 Rocky," Skye replied. From her vantage point, she could see the two black police cars weaving smoothly through traffic to catch up to Hubcap. She wasn't sure what was about to happen, but she trusted Rocky. Swooping down, she flipped on the warning lights on her helicopter as she buzzed directly over Hubcap's head and started weaving just above the cars.

"Hey, watch it!" Hubcap yelled angrily. Then he realized what Skye was doing. "Hey, knock it off!"

The cars saw the warning lights and started clearing off to the sides of the road, leaving Hubcap alone in the center. Even better, cars on the on-ramps were slowing and stopping as well. Then Hubcap noticed the black police cars closing in rapidly behind him.

The black police cars slid neatly into position on both rear corners of Hubcap's motorcycle. Hubcap started swerving back and forth trying to make space to try and escape. All he accomplished was to bounce off the cars. Hubcap swore in frustration.

Then the black police car on his right rear corner moved in to lightly press against his motorcycle. Hubcap fought back but the perfectly executed PIT maneuver sent him spinning like a top across the traffic lanes. His tires screamed and smoked as he spun.

Hubcap came to a stop in the center of the highway, dizzy but facing the direction of travel. Instinctively, he floored it again, leaving long black tire marks behind him as he sped away again. Undeterred, the black police cars closed in behind him again.

This time, one hung back while the other slid right in behind Hubcap. Immediately, an electronic seeker started its acquisition sequence, emitting a steadily increasing electronic tone.

"What is that?!" Hubcap yelped in fear. Panicking, Hubcap started to swerve madly access the highway.

The black police car stayed with Hubcap, matching him move for move. As the tones reached their maximum, the police car finally backed off slightly.

*Thwump!*

An electronic blast shot out of the front of the black police car and into Hubcap's motorcycle. The French Bulldog screamed unintelligibly in terror as the blue bolts of electricity arced through every component. In an instant, everything on the motorcycle ceased working. Almost as an afterthought, parts started falling off the motorcycle. Bolt by bolt, everything detached, leaving a trail of parts on the highway behind him.

Hubcap held onto the handlebars until they fell off, and then the seat until he skidded to a stop at the end of the trail of parts. A lone wheel bounced along until it met a white paw attached to a grey leg. "End of the line Hubcap," Rocky said with a smile.

"Wha-wha-what happened?" Hubcap stammered as he tried to comprehend the final seconds of his ride. The wail of sirens winding down behind him caused him to turn around. The two black police cars came smoothly to a stop in a V formation. Chase pulled up beside them while Skye landed a little farther along the highway.

"It's over Hubcap," Chase said as he jumped down and walked towards the shaking French Bulldog.

"But…what...huh…how?" Hubcap stammered, his eyes flashing back and forth between Chase and Rocky.

"Huh?" Chase said cocking his head to the side.

"Looks like he is going into shock," Skye yipped as she ran over.

"Marshall, we need you out here right away," Rocky said with a swipe across his tag.

"On my way," the Dalmatian responded with cheery professionalism.

"He might be like that for a while," a female voice said behind Chase. The pups looked behind them to see the two pups, dressed in all black leather protective gear and wearing black helmets poke their heads up out of the black police cars.

"What did you do to his motorcycle?" Chase asked curiously.

"Hit it with an EMP, Electro-Magnetic Pulse" the female pup replied. She was perched in the vehicle to Chase's right. "It fried everything electronic in his motorcycle which then shook itself to bits. Quite shocking to say the least, I didn't expect it to be quite that powerful."

"Who are you?" Skye asked in awe.

The black-clad pups looked at each other. The female one that had been speaking nodded and both pups reached for their helmets. The one on the left removed his first, revealing golden brown fur and floppy ears.

"Dwayne?!" Skye yipped in surprise. Chase's jaw dropped open. Then the pup on the right removed her helmet, revealing grey fur with a white tuft on top of her head and a smug smile.

"GASKET?!" Chase yelped in anger and surprise.

A/N: Surprise! I hope you are enjoying the story so far. I'm sorry for the slow pace of updates, but I've continued to be very limited in internet access. On the bright side, there is a chance that might get better and allow a more regular schedule, maybe, possibly, hopefully. Additionally, I've been working on a story which combines EMS training, Paramedic Pup, Ultimate Rescue: Plane Crash, and Everest's Recovery into one cohesive story. There are some minor changes sprinkled in, and I think it does a better job of introducing everything the way I intended and released that you don't get if you just read everything individually. It also fits better with how I wrote A Cause for Every Fire and am writing Code Butterfly. I hope you enjoy it when it launches (all 63 chapters, lol).
