Making Changes Along The Way
It was a dark night in Port Charles and a beautiul brunette named Brenda Barrett was on the dock's waiting patiently for an extremely handsome fella named Sonny Corinthos to come to her. She look's out at the scenery but for right now it was really Sonny's face she wanted to see more then anything else. People had tried to warn her about him that he wouldn't change his dangerous lifestyle as a Mobster for her. Brenda though couldn't give up hope that he would soon though. Sonny deeply loved Brenda and in order to have a future with her he had to walk away from the business. Sonny however still hasn't showed up and it's been an hour already. Brenda tries her best not to feed in to what everyone tried telling her she had to keep telling herself that Sonny loved her. Brenda imagines Sonny looking deep into her eyes as she looked deep into his. Brenda begins to smile because she has always liked the way Sonny looked at her with true love in his heart for her. She couldn't and she wouldn't walk away from him. She however had to have him make a promise to her in order to be with her and tonight was Sonny's night to prove to Brenda how much he loved her. Sonny out of no where appears and calls Brenda's name. She turns her attention to a familiar voice and smiles when she see's Sonny he was not dressed in his usual suits he was in a black t-shirt and jeans and he also had some facial hair. Brenda's big bushy brunette hair was up in a bun. She get's a little closer to Sonny and he get's closer to her.
"Brenda...honey...your not going to like what I'm about to tell you. I know you want me to leave the Mob. I however must find a way to keep you safe first." Sonny tells Brenda as he takes a soft hold of her hand.
Brenda started to worry a little with concern in her face she tries to understand what Sonny is trying to tell her.
"Let's call the PCPD it's the only way you can be truly free." Brenda tells Sonny as she caresses his left cheek.
"I have to quickly get you out of here some way and some how." Sonny warns Brenda.
"Sonny what's wrong?" Brenda asks still concerned and curious.
Suddenly gun shot's go off and Sonny pulls Brenda into him and they both head to the ground as Sonny sheild's Brenda from the bullets. Brenda was scared as she could feel Sonny keeping her protected under his body. However Sonny is shot from the back and then Sonny tries maintaining his balance reaching for his gun to give to Brenda. She was hesitant though with taking it. However Sonny tries to reassure her to take it and to run far but Brenda couldn't leave Sonny.
"I can't go Sonny I love you." Brenda says to him as she goes to kiss him.
Sonny was getting weak as blood was coming out of him. Brenda helps him to lie down on the ground. She quickly dials 911 but to her surprise a Police Officer named Aidan Devane from the town of Pine Valley arrives to find Brenda over Sonny who still had his eyes open.
"Sonny! Sonny! stay here with me." Brenda tells Sonny as he tries his best to listen to her.
"A man is down." Aidan say's he comes to Brenda and Sonny and tries to help.
"Are you Brenda Barrett the Deception model?" Aidan asks Brenda.
"Yes but that's not important help my boyfriend please he's bleeding." Brenda tells Aidan panicking as tears rolls from her eyes.
"I will do what I can." Aidan tries to assure Brenda.
Sonny didn't know what to think but as blood was leaving his body he found himself getting colder. Brenda though stayed near him and talks to him.
"I'm not going anywhere until you are okay. Don't die okay Sonny promise me tell me you love me." Brenda tells Sonny wanting him to profess his love for her as he could feel himself slipping away minute by minute thankfully to everyone's surprise the ambulance comes and quickly goes to the aid of Sonny Corinthos. Robin hurries to Brenda's side to be with her as the EMT's work on saving Sonny and getting him to the hospital fast. Brenda turns her attention to Robin as she felt Sonny's hand slip away from hers.
"I need to go with them." Brenda insists.
"You can't right now Brenda." Robin tells Brenda.
"I have to be with Sonny please understand I need to be with him." Brenda says as she was still in tears.
"What were you doing waiting for Sonny in a dangerous spot like this." Robin tells Brenda concerned for her friend and wondering why she would risk it all like this.
"You don't understand my love for Sonny he's changing he's not the same." Brenda tells Robin.
"But you know who was still controlling him right Joseph Sorel you know that don't you?" Robin tells Brenda.
Brenda had to walk away as Aidan comes over to tell Robin to keep an eye on Brenda and help her go home.
"She may want to see Sonny though." Robin tells Aidan.
