"Okay Cisco, what was so important that we needed to come here this early?" Barry asked Cisco as he and Caitlin entered Cisco's workshop at Mount Flash.
"And did Jesse approve the research into the Zeta tubes, since those would really come in handy." Caitlin said, since she had to admit, it would be easier to get to Mount Flash with the Zeta Tube as opposed to ice bridging.
"While she liked the idea, especially the way I sold it to her, she said that due to the resources a project like this would require, she'd need to get approval from Kara Danvers herself, but it sounds like it will be promising. In the meantime, I have been using the research your dad gave me to at least try to finish repairing this Zeta Tube, but it's slow going, especially when having to balance it with my work at Star Labs." Cisco said.
"Why do we still call it Star Labs when it's owned by Argo Enterprises now?" Barry asked.
"Jesse insisted on honoring her parents' memories, since Star Labs was originally their idea." Caitlin answered.
"Anyways, the reason I asked you both to meet me here today is because of these." Cisco said as he tossed each of them a golden ring. The one Barry caught had a gold lightning bolt on a red background while Cailtin's had a silver snowflake with a light blue background.
"Rings?" Caitlin asked skeptically.
"Put them on and press the emblems." Cisco said and the stepsiblings nodded as they put the rings and pressed the emblems on them, causing nanites to eject from them, though in different styles. For Barry, the nanites seemed to take on a form that resembled his own yellow lightning as they took the form of a bright red suit complete with gold lightning accents, a golden belt at his waist and gold boots. And on his chest was now a bright white circle with a gold lightning bolt on it.
And as opposed to the firemen's turnouts he'd been wearing as the Flash so far, where the cowl had two lightning bolts covering his ears, Barry felt wings like the ones on his father's helmet.
Meanwhile, the nanites from Caitlin's ring were icy blue, nearly white as they took the form of a pitch black suit with a silver snowflake emblem on her chest, along with a sleeveless dark blue coat materializing, along with heeled boots and separate dark blue sleeves that left her shoulders exposed as Caitlin let her eyes turn silver, her skin go pale and her hair turn white to complete the look.
"Now this is nice." Barry said as he and Caitlin looked at their new suits.
"Yeah. Using a combination of Argo Enterprises' nanotech research and tech from your dad's Earth, I created new super suits for both of you, since you can't deny that compared to Superman, Supergirl or even your dad's old suit, the one you were using before was kind of crude and dull and there was no way I was gonna let either of you go out there wearing underwhelming gear." Cisco said.
"And that is much appreciated." Barry said, since he did agree with Cisco and so did Caitlin, since she was liking this new look.
"I'm surprised you didn't make one of these for yourself." Caitlin said.
"I don't have powers, so I'm perfectly fine being your tech support while you two are out there kicking bad guy ass." Cisco said.
"Fair enough." Barry said, right as an alert went off.
"What is that?" Caitlin asked.
"Robbery at the Central City Museum. Ready to take that new suit for a test run?" Cisco asked Barry, who grinned.
"Absolutely. You want in?" Barry asked his sister, who shook her head.
"No, I'll pass. I want my debut as Ice Maiden to be against something a bit more impressive than a bank robbery. Have fun." Caitlin said as Barry wasted no time in speeding out of there.
"We really need to consider bringing Jesse into the fold, since it's only a matter of time until she realizes that the Star Labs satellite is doing more than we've reported and or that we're using her resources for things she didn't authorize, not to mention, I think she'll notice when we start using the Zeta Tube to transport here. Besides, it couldn't hurt to have some extra genius power here." Caitlin said and Cisco nodded.
"Not to mention Jesse probably has just as much interest in taking down the man in yellow as Barry since he killed her dad. But you should probably be the one to run it by him, since you are his sister." Cisco said and Caitlin nodded in agreement.
When Flash arrived at the museum, he found that the police had it surrounded, but what really got his attention was the amount of the ice around the building.
"Caitlin, are you sure you're not already here, since there's a lot of evidence that either you or your dad are here." Flash asked over the comms.
"No, I'm still at Mount Flash and there's no indication of my father's cryo signature anywhere near the city." Caitlin confirmed.
"Then it's someone new." Flash said, right as he barely managed to dodge a bright blue energy blast that seemed to freeze whatever it touched and he turned to see a man wearing a blue parka and some seriously teched out goggles, holding some kind of high tech gun.
"Hello Flash. I was wondering when you'd show up." the guy said.
"And who are you supposed to be?" Flash asked the thief.
"Just a man trying to make a dishonest buck in this world. And with this gun, not even you can stop me" the thief said.
"And what makes you so sure about that?" Flash asked.
"Barry, he's right. Based on our scans of the gun from the camera Cisco installed your new suit, it's designed to work very similarly to my powers. That gun was created to hit sub zero temperatures, which happen to be one of your weaknesses, since speed and cold are opposites. He can do some serious damage if he manages to hit you." Caitlin said.
"Then I guess I'll just have to hope that I can run faster than he can shoot." Flash said.
"Maybe you can outrun me, but I doubt that the rest of these people can." the thief said.
"Who are you?" Flash asked again.
"Captain Cold." Cisco said before the thief could answer.
"You just couldn't help yourself." Flash said.
"You can't deny that it's a cool name." Cisco said.
"True." Flash acknowledged.
"What's true?" Captain Cold asked.
"How cool your new name is. Captain Cold." Flash said.
"I gotta admit, I do like the sound of that." Captain Cold admitted.
"Now, what do you want?" Flash asked.
"I just wanted to see the hero of Central City up close and personal and it's not like you have a signal light like that lunatic in Gotham. Though I'll let a different iceman handle that guy. You're mine." Captain Cold said as he fired at the Flash, only for the Flash to dodge easily, making sure to keep Cold's attention on him and only him to allow the civilians still inside the museum to get out and also taking care to try not to damage any of the exhibits, since he couldn't afford to buy it if he broke it.
"You can't dodge forever." Captain Cold said as he continued trying to hit the Flash, only for the Flash to direct his beam on the ground to create a sort of runway that he then used to slide down straight into Cold and kick his feet out from under him.
"Remind me to thank Gabby for those combat lessons." Flash said over the comms.
"Will do." Caitlin said.
"Impressive. You're better than I was expecting." Cold said with a smirk as the Flash tried to disarm him of his gun, but the second he touched it, the gun emitted some kind of bright flash that blinded the Flash and when his vision cleared, Cold was gone.
"Damn it, he got away." Flash said.
"But you saved everyone at the museum. I call this a win." Caitlin said.
"It doesn't feel like it though." Flash said, even as people came into the museum and started to thank him for saving them.
