Chapter 1: Run

Izaya was tossing and turning nearly all night long as he was having a really terrible nightmare about his mom. Izaya gripped onto his blanket as he began to sweat.

Izaya's Dream

Yasu came across a village that has a lot of violence going on. Yasu's boyfriend had just killed himself, so she has no choice but to abandon Izaya as she can no longer take care of him. Yasu put Izaya down next by a few barrels to protect him from the violence. A gunshot was fired as Yasu screamed and ducked her head and protected Izaya as Izaya cried a bit. Yasu looked back to make sure there wasn't anyone behind her but she did see a few bodies going down, bleeding to death, their brains blown out, and people screaming so loud. Yasu looked away as she looked back at Izaya and kissed his head.

"My sweet baby boy, I'm so sorry but…mommy has to leave you now. I hope you can forgive me when you get older. Please remember that me and your father love you very much." Yasu said as she kissed Izaya's cheeks as Izaya smiled and cooed at her.

Yasu teared up as she realized that she had to leave her baby boy right now. She put a small note inside the blanket and Izaya's birth certificate. Yasu put Izaya down as she used the barrels to cover him and stood up. Izaya looked at her as he began to teared up, holding out his hands to her as Yasu shook her head.

"Izaya, please. I have to go now. You deserve a better life without me and your dad. Please stay here. I'm sure someone good will come by and adopt you into their family." Yasu said as she kneeled once more and kissed Izaya on his forehead. Izaya closed his eyes as he giggled happily. Loving his mother's scent. Even though he was a baby, he still doesn't understand why his mom has to abandon him. Yasu stood up as she turned around. Not looking back at Izaya. Yasu sighed as she ran off. Izaya began to wail, seeing his mother turned her back on him as she ran. Izaya had cried so loud but nobody heard him. A lot of people were screaming and falling down bleeding to death. Izaya woke up as his alarm had gone off. He looked over at his alarm as he sat up and shut it off and laid back down as he cried.

"Another dream about her….What does it mean?" Izaya said to himself. He knows that he has to get up or else his foster parent will come barring in.

Izaya got startled when he heard a loud bang on his door.

"You better get up, boy! We got training today!" Izaya's foster parent said as he walked off.

Izaya sighed as he got out of bed and grabbed a change of clothes and headed to the restroom to get ready. Izaya looked at himself in the mirror as he saw some dark lines under his eyes and tears in his eyes. Izaya sniffed as he grabbed his towel and some soap. The foster parent who is actually a Quincy was sitting down at the kitchen table, reading the newspaper while sipping on some coffee. He was tapping his fingers on the table waiting for Izaya to come downstairs. He sighed as he slammed down the newspaper on the table and stood up.

"Boy! Get your ass down here right now!" The quincy said as he growled. He waited for another three seconds as he snarled. "I said-" The quincy got interrupted when he heard footsteps coming down.

"I'm coming! And can you please call me 'Izaya'? Seriously! That's all I'm asking." Izaya sighed as he grabbed a bowl, a spoon, milk, and some cereal as he poured them at a counter. Away from his foster parent.

The quincy sighed as he sat down and sipped on his coffee. "I just wish you would move faster. After school, you come home right away. I'm still training you to-" The quincy turned around when Izaya copied him.

"Defeat the soul reapers. I know. Can't we just leave them be? I mean I don't know much about them. All I ever hear is how 'bad' they are or some shit. Plus, my mom abandoned me. I had another dream about her. So I'm a bit upset right now." Izaya said as he sat down and sighed.

The quincy got even more angry and slammed his hands on the table.

"I don't give two shits about your damn mother! She was probably a whore who couldn't keep her legs closed to any man she screwed with! That's why she left you! Now eat and don't ever interrupt me again!" The quincy said as he panted heavily.

Izaya looked at him as he felt tears forming his eyes again. Then Izaya too stood up and got close to his face.

"Don't you ever talk about my mother like that ever again! You don't know what she's like! She was an amazing woman who did everything she could to take good care of me!" Izaya's voice broke as he began to let his tears fall. He glared at his foster parent as he panted.

The quincy sighed as he slapped Izaya across his face. "Shut the hell up, kid! You don't know jackshit about her, dumbass. You were just a little baby. So how can you have any memory of her?!" The quincy screamed at Izaya as he panted and sat down, sighing.

Izaya couldn't eat his breakfast as he lost his appetite. He stood up and walked upstairs to get his bag ready for school. The quincy rubbed his forehead then the doorbell ranged. The quincy stood up to answer it.

"What the hell do you want, Haschwalt?" The quincy asked as he sat down and groaned.

"We can hear you from upstairs. What is going on, As Nodt?" Jugram asked as he entered their apartment and sat down.

"The stupid kid keeps talking about his damn mother when I have no interest in knowing about her! I just want him to focus on his training so he can be one of us!" As Nodt said as he sighed again.

"You're getting too angry. Calm down. If you scare him off then he might join the soul reapers. Is that what you want?" Jugram asked As Nodt.

As Nodt looked at him and gave Jugram a glare then shook his head.

"No. I just took in the kid. Why can't he just let go of his mother?" As Nodt asked. He was frustrated.

"He just misses her. But don't be so hard on him. If you want him to be one of us then you must-" Jugram got interrupted.

"I'll train him however I want! Now get out! He's on his way downstairs to head to school!" As Nodt said as he snapped at Jugram.

Jugram sighed as he stood up opening the door. Not even looking at As Nodt. "I'm getting lunch for us. Your usual?" Jugram asked him.

"Yes. Now go!" As Nodt said, as Jugram left their apartment and closed the door.

Izaya came downstairs as he walked over to the door and opened it. He turned around to As Nodt and sighed. "I'll see you after school." Izaya said, trying to keep calm around As Nodt.

"Just go. And don't be late coming home." As Nodt said to Izaya as he refused to look at him.

Izaya only nodded as walked out, closing the door behind and headed to school. Izaya had his head down as he was still crying. He then bumped into someone as Izaya looked up.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't see you. It's my fault." Izaya said as he immediately grabbed his bag.

A tall man with pretty brown eyes and bright orange hair looked back as he held out his hand. "Hey it's okay. I'm just waiting for my friends. Are you okay?" He asked as Izaya looked up at him.

"Hey I know you…..! You're in a few of my classes. What's your name again?" The tall guy said as he had a really nice smile on his face.

Izaya looked away from him as he was still letting his tears fall and sniffled. The guy frowned as he kneeled.

"Hey, are you okay, lad? What's wrong?" He asked him but the bell rang for class.

"Come on guys. Class is about to start~!" A tall slim teacher with shiny pink hair and wearing long boots and high heels said as he gave his students a smile.

Ichigo looked back at him and looked back at Izaya. "Hey, we have to get to class alright? I'll walk you in." He said as he gave Izaya a smile.

Izaya only nodded as he held onto his hand the guy helped him up. Izaya dusted himself off as the two silently walked inside the building.

"Nice to see you, Ichigo and Izaya." Szayel said to them as he gave them a warm smile.

"Thanks. You too, Sensei." Ichigo said as he waved at Szayel and let go of Izaya's hand.

"Your name's Izaya? That's a really pretty name. Um, what's your first class?" Ichigo asked Izaya but Izaya was still looking down.

The two stood there very silently as they heard the hallway clock going 'tick tock tick tock tick tock' over and over again. Izaya looked at Ichigo as he nodded.

"We have the first class together." Izaya said to Ichigo very quietly.

"Can you repeat that, please? I couldn't hear you." Ichigo asked Izaya.

But their teacher held onto their backs and forced them to walk to class. "Now come on you two~! You'll get to know each other when it's lunchtime." Szayel said to them as he giggled and made them sit down at their seats.

An hour had passed as the bell rang for the next class period or lunch for some others. Izaya walked out of class, still having his head down a bit as he walked to his locker and grabbed another notebook for class. He closed his locker as he sighed. He then saw other students all laughing, talking with their friends, and just having a good time.

"Like did you girls see the new episode last night? I was literally freaking out!" A girl with dark purple curly pony tails said as she laughed.

"Psh yeah! I couldn't sit down because of how amazing it was!" Another girl with long black ponytails said as she giggled.

Izaya then looked over and saw Ichigo talking to his friends. Ichigo was laughing at Keigo's joke as Orihime was just shaking her head.

"You guys are such goofballs!" Orihime said as she laughed happily.

Izaya smiled a little at them as he closed his locker to head to lunch actually. He then accidentally bumped into somebody again. Izaya is numb so he doesn't really feel any feelings right now.

"I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" A woman's voice said as she held out her hand to Izaya. Izaya looked up and held onto her hand as she helped him up.

Izaya only nodded as he didn't feel like talking to anybody. The woman lifted his chin as she smiled at him.

"Hi! I'm Yoko Rie. I never seen you around before? Are you new here?" Yoko asked Izaya as she gave him a cute smile.

Izaya shook his head. "No…This is my last year here…." Izaya said as he looked away.

"I see! Are you going to lunch?" Yoko asked him again as she was actually going to lunch.

Izaya only nodded at her as he sighed. Yoko gasped happily as she held onto his wrist and they both walked into lunch.

"Come on then! We can get lunch together." Yoko said very happily as they both walked into the lunchroom.

Izaya just shrugged as he looked back and noticed that Ichigo was staring at him. Izaya then looked away as he got in line with Yoko. Ichigo and some others also walked into the lunchroom, waiting to get their lunch as well. Izaya was only focused on getting something to eat.

"So, where would you like to sit? There's a lot of empty seats we can have." Yoko asked him as she smiled.

Izaya looked at her and used his face to 'point' outside. Yoko looked back and back at Izaya as she smiled.

"You wanna eat outside? We can do that! It's very warm out anyways." Yoko said as she smiled.

Izaya only nodded as he saw Ichigo again and he looked away to get his lunch. Izaya shrugged and got his lunch too. Izaya got out of the line and waited for Yoko. Another student ended up bumping into Izaya as Izaya gasped and dropped his lunch. Everyone looked at him.

"Oh jeez. I'm so sorry. That was an accident, really." A feminine voice said as he kneeled down and grabbed Izaya's tray but the food and the chocolate milk was on the floor.

Izaya sighed as he looked at him. Luppi looked at Izaya as he slowly stood up. They both looked at each other.

"I can get you another lunch if you want me to." Luppi requested as he tried to hand the empty tray to Izaya but Izaya backed away as he refused.

He then noticed that everyone was staring and whispering about him. Izaya began to pant very uncontrollably as he ran outside to hide.

"Wait!" Luppi said but he got stopped by one of his friends.

"Don't bother. That guy is strange anyways." Loly said as she sighed.

Luppi gave her a glare as he looked up and saw Ichigo and Yoko.

"What happened?" Ichigo asked Luppi.

"I-It was an accident! I swear, but he didn't say anything…." Luppi tried to explain as he sighed.

Ichigo put his hand on his shoulder and gave him a smile.

"It's okay. Izaya is probably having a bad day. We'll go talk to him." Ichigo said to Luppi and smiled at him.

Yoko smiled at Luppi and Loly as they both walked off. Luppi sighed as he looked at Loly.

"Come on. Your lunch is getting cold." Loly said as she walked over to the seat that she and Menoly were saving for Luppi.

Luppi looked back at Ichigo and Yoko but the two were already outside and Luppi sighed as he sat down with his friends.

Yoko gasped as she didn't see anybody outside.

"I don't see him!" Yoko said in a panic.

Then Ichigo began to sense something as he looked back. He saw a giant hollow that had Izaya in its hands. Izaya wasn't screaming but he was struggling to get free.

"Izaya! Yoko, get inside, it's too dangerous!" Ichigo said as he held Yoko's shoulders.

"What? I'm not leaving until I see Izaya!" Yoko said to Ichigo as she teared up.

"There's no time! I promise I'll get him back here safe and sound. Now go!" Ichigo said as Yoko looked at him and nodded.

Yoko ran back inside as she saw Luppi walking outside. She tried to stop him but Luppi was already outside. Ichigo looked at the hollow as he got out of his gigai and jumped into the air to stop the hollow. He gasped when he saw Izaya pass out. The hollow looked at Ichigo and laughed.

"Hahahaha! I got your little friend! Now I can't wait to devour him and see how he tastes!" The hollow said as he laughed and lifted up its hand.

Ichigo gasped in horror. "No!" He said as he was about to stop the hollow but the hollow screamed in pain as it was pierced by a giant tentacle. Ichigo gasped as he looked back to see who did that.

"Sorry but, you're not allowed to devour any of my friends. Ever!" Luppi said as he smiled.

"You…..what the hell are you doing?" Ichigo said to Luppi.

Luppi gasped very dramatically. "What do you think I'm doing? I'm saving Izaya! You're the slow one here." Luppi said as he growled at Ichigo.

"Oh shove that up your ass! You're gonna get in huge trouble for using your powers on school grounds!" Ichigo said as he huffed.

"Uh, so are you, soul reaper! You made Miss Yoko head back inside when she wanted to help!" Luppi said as he huffed at Ichigo.

"She's a human, dumbass! She can't see the hollows in front of her. I had to protect her somehow!" Ichigo said as he growled at Luppi.

Both Luppi and Ichigo were so busy arguing that they didn't even notice that the hollow was laughing and about to eat Izaya. They both looked at it as they gasped.

"Hahahaha, since you two are too busy arguing, I'll just go ahead and eat my snack!" The hollow said as it licked its lips and opened its mouth wide.

"NO!" Both Ichigo and Luppi said as they got their weapons ready. Before they could

A sword was pierced into the hollow's chest as it screamed in pain as dark purple mist spreaded everywhere as the hollow roared faded and turned into dark ashes. Izaya's body was falling from the sky as Szayel caught him. He landed as both Ichigo and Luppi landed down with their heads down, sighing in disappointment. Szayel checked Izaya's pulse as he's still breathing but just very weak and hungry.

"You two should be ashamed of yourselves. You should-" Szayel got interrupted by Luppi.

"Saved Izaya right away and not argue. I know sensei and we're sorry." Luppi said as he sighed.

"I was gonna say come to me right away to handle the hollow but yes also that. But you two know that using your powers during school hours is prohibited." Szayel said to them, not even looking at them.

Both Ichigo and Luppi nodded as they were still looking down.

"I wish to see you two after school. Now go." Szayel said to them as he slowly stood up.

Both Ichigo and Luppi turned around heading back to class, not saying a word to each other. Then Yoko came outside as she walked up to Szayel.

"Sensei, is there anything I can do to help?" Yoko asked as she's worried about Izaya.

Szayel turned around and nodded. "Yes. Please take Izaya to the nurse's office. I'll be in after class." Szayel said to Yoko as he handed Izaya to her.

Yoko smiled and nodded as she did so. The lunchroom was very empty and the hallways, so she ran to the nurse's office. She let them know that Izaya was in bad condition and needed to lie down. They let her in as she laid down Izaya and stayed next to him. Izaya was breathing slowly as he opened his eyes. He turned to Yoko as Yoko looked at him.

"Izaya, are you okay?" Yoko asked him. She did have a small habit of asking people more than one question.

Izaya shook his head. "No." Izaya told her as he sighed.

"Wait here, okay? I'm gonna get you some water." Yoko stood up and walked out of the empty room to get some water for Izaya.

Izaya groaned as he slowly lifted up his wrists. He made some new scars as the bleeding had stopped but Izaya was in so much pain. He then remembered that he had to go home after school. Izaya tightly closed his eyes as he forced himself out of bed and walked out of the nurse's office. Not caring how much pain he's in. He was now outside as he was walking back home. Yoko came back to the room as she saw that Izaya wasn't in the bed any more. She gasped as she looked for him.

"Izaya! Izaya! Izaya!" Yoko called him out so many times but no answer.

Izaya panted as he was on his way home. The school bell has rang for class has ended. Every student has left their classes but Ichigo and Luppi as they waited for everyone to leave. Szayel waited patiently for everyone to leave as he stood up and closed the door and ordered the two boys to come to him.

"To my desk, please." Szayel said as they both tensed up and walked over to him.

Szayel put his hands on his mouth as he sighed.

"Boys, I understand that there's hollows lurking around everywhere and especially the school, but I don't want any of you to use your powers to stop them because someone can get seriously hurt and we can't afford to pay for their injuries in a hospital now can we?" Szayel asked them as they both looked at each other and back at Szayel and shook their heads.

"No sir, but…..Izaya was in trouble. I was gonna do something but my friend Yoko wanted to help too. I had to get her back inside cause she's a human. She can't see hollows." Ichigo explained to Szayel.

Szayel raised an eyebrow as he looked at Ichigo. He then sighed and nodded. "I understand that, Kurosaki. But do you two understand the rules?" Szayel asked them once more.

They both nodded in agreement. "Yes sir." They both said.

"Good. Now run along now you two. I got some work to finish up." Szayel said to them as he gave them a small smile.

They both nodded and bowed as they walked out of his classroom. They sighed as they walked outside together.

"Do you think he'll be okay, Ichigo? I mean, he didn't look like his normal self." Luppi asked Ichigo.

Ichigo shrugged. "I don't know. We'll have to wait til tomorrow morning and see how he is. I'll catch you later. See ya." Ichigo said as he walked on his way home.

Luppi sighed and did the same as he walked his other way home. When Izaya arrived at home after getting some water at a mini mart he opened the door as he walked inside. He looked up as he saw his stuff on the living room floor as Izaya tilted his head in confusion.

"What the hell…..?" Izaya said as he closed the door behind him to find his foster parent.

"Hey! What are you doing to my stuff? I just had to go to the mini mart to get something!" Izaya said to As Nodt as he looked at him.

As Nodt's eyes were dark red as he turned to Izaya and slapped him across his face as Izaya fell back and held onto his cheek as he looked at As Nodt.

"Get the hell out, kid! You are useless to me! You're late! I just saw a soul reaper come by here and you weren't here to get them!" As Nodt said as he screamed at Izaya.

Izaya stood up as he was panting and turned around as he ran out to the door. He opened it as he fell and tripped.

"Ow! S-Shit!" Izaya said as he crawled to the door to open the front door. He looked back as he saw As Nodt catching up to him. With a knife in his hand.

Izaya gasped as he stood up and turned on the doorknob as he was finally outside. As Nodt then threw the knife at Izaya as it missed him as Izaya ducked. Protecting himself. He turned around as As Nodt grew even angrier. Izaya gasped as he stood up, limping as he was trying to escape. Then a tall man came up and held onto Izaya and stopped As Nodt.

"Stop it, As Nodt! Are you bonkers?!" Jugram said to him as he looked at As Nodt.

"Get the hell out of my way, Haschwalt! This dumbass was late and I saw a soul reaper around here!" As Nodt said as he growled.

"They weren't looking for you, though! They were looking for hollows! Do you not understand that?!" Jugram said as he panted.

Then some ice stopped them as she landed down.

"That's enough. If you two wish to live then I suggest you back away now." A female voice said to the both of them as she looked at both of them.

Izaya then got out of Jugram's grip and ran off, crying as he had enough shit happening to him.

"Wait, come back!" Jugram said as he saw Izaya run into the darkness.

"Let him go. He's useless to me anyway." As Nodt turned back around as he walked inside his home and slammed the door.

Both the soul reaper and Jugram jumped up as Jugram sighed.

" I don't want any trouble. I'll be out of your way. But you must follow his kid. He's a runaway. He doesn't have a family of his own." Jugram said to the soul reaper as he turned back around and walked off.

The soul reaper sighed as she called Ichigo. "Ichigo we may have a situation. I'm coming over right now." She said as she flew away.

Ichigo left his window open as he let her in. He sat on his bed and sighed.

"What's going on, Rukia? Is it a hollow?" Ichigo asked as he looked at her.

"No, it's much worse. There's a runaway on the loose. He just got out of his abusive home. I think he wasn't being treated well." Rukia tried her best to explain to Rukia as she sighed.

"Do you remember what he looked like?" Ichigo asked his friend.

"No. It's too dark. Can we look in the morning?" Rukia asked Ichigo as she looked at him.

"I can't. I have class in the morning, but can you ask the house owner he was living at for more information?" Ichigo asked Rukia as he stood up.

"I can try, but he's very dangerous as I heard him screaming at his kid." Rukia explained as she turned around and walked over to the window.

Ichigo only nodded at her as Rukia flew away back to the apartments. She landed as she gasped and hid behind a tree, seeing two men talking to each other.

"Just let him go. If he doesn't wanna train with us then so be it. Besides, the soul reapers have no interest in fighting us anymore. Let them be." A man with short black hair.

"I guess you're right. But As Nodt will always disagree with us." Jugram said as he sighed.

The man shrugged then turned as he heard a small stick break.

"Show yourself!" He said as Rukia came out of hiding.

"Rukia? What are you doing here? You haven't reported this have you?" Uryu asked her as he looked at her.

"No. But please may I ask a few questions about the runaway? Who is he?" Rukia asked them as both Jugram and Uryu looked at each other.

Jugram nodded at Uryu as they both agreed to tell her. Rukia wrote down some notes as she thanked them and flew back into the sky. Both Jugram and Uryu watched her leave as they both headed back inside their apartments. Rukia flew back to Ichigo's room as she landed and gave him the notes. Ichigo read them as he gasped.

"Wait, Izaya's the runaway? He goes to my school. Rukia, we have to find him,now!" Ichigo said as he stood up, going to his window.

"Ichigo, hold on! We don't know where he is and we don't know if he's a quincy or just a human. Do you know anything about him?" Rukia asked him as she sighed.

Ichigo sighed as he put his head down. "No….I tried to talk to him but he wouldn't answer me. He had tears in his eyes and….." Ichigo sighed as he didn't want to think about what happened at school today.

Rukia put her hand on his shoulder as she gave him a smile.

"I promise, I'll look for him in the morning. You head to class and text me any updates if he has arrived there. Okay? We can do this." Rukia said as she gave him a warm smile.

Ichigo smiled at her as he let Rukia head back to the soul society. Ichigo laid down in bed as he sighed heavily. He looked at his phone. He wished he had Luppi's number.

"Izaya, please be okay. Please." Ichigo said softly as he slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Izaya had been running non stop as he was really tired, weak, and hungry. But he didn't want to stop as he feared that As Nodt could be after him. But Izaya had a few hollows running after him instead.

Whew! Hey so I'm kinda new here kinda haha not really but I closed my other fanfiction account but this is my new one as I miss writing fanfictions. I had a lot of fun writing this & I can't wait to write more for y'all to enjoy! (If not then they're for me anyways. XD)

I am gonna add heavy topics & themes but please remember I am not glorifying them & everything is all fictional with fantasy violence cause that's what Bleach is anyways. XD

Anyways I hope y'all like my Bleach OCs Izaya & Yoko Rie. I do own them so please do NOT use them in your fanfictions.
