(The Perfect Model)

*December 15th, 1941*

*12:25 pm*

*Highlands High School*

Anya, Mai, and Nancy were sitting in the library after eating lunch as they were discussing their plans for the upcoming Winter Break that was set to happen next week.

"Wow, I can't believe our break is next week. Time sure flies quite quickly. I just wish we had more time during the semester." Nancy spoke to her friends while Anya and Mai nodded in agreement.

"I agree with you, and it sucks we never had the chance to play dodgeball again as well. I remember you and Anya losing a few weeks ago, it was terrible." Mai responded to Nancy while she and Anya chuckled in slight embarrassment.

"I remember. Poor Glenn was eliminated by Joseph or one of those guys, but I'm sure we'll get them next time..I hope" Anya spoke to Mai while flipping the pages in her study book.

"Oh yeah, I was quite disappointed, but being a good sport is what matters the most so I didn't let it affect me whatsoever." Nancy chimed into the conversation while the three girls smiled at each other before engaging in conversation once more.

Unknown to them, a girl with a camera was watching them from the table located across from them.

"She's perfect. Mai is the perfect girl to be my model for my final project. Her beauty and personality truly fit the criteria." The girl spoke in awestruck while observing the ongoing conversation that Mai was having.

The girl's name was Anne and she wore her hair in braided pigtails. (*See Chapter 2, she got eliminated during the dodgeball match*)

She also had brown eyes with her hair color being brunette.

"It seems that she's good friends with Nancy as well! I remember being eliminated on her way back when she first transferred here." Anne spoke once more to herself before getting up to approach Mai and her friends which was quickly noticed by Anya.

"Hello, could we help you with something?" Anya asked the girl politely while turning her attention toward her.

This made the girl raise an eyebrow in confusion as she spoke once more.

"Hello, I'm Anne. I'm sure you guys don't remember me but I was the girl who was eliminated at Dodgeball back in March, it's nice to meet you." Anne greeted Anya and her friends politely while this quickly made Anya and Nancy remember her.

"Oh you! You were in Joseph's team, right? I believe I do remember you! You used to be in our gym class from last year." Anya responded with a smile while Anne quickly nodded excitedly as she began to speak once more.

"Bingo! I'm glad you remembered me so quickly. I was worried you were going to forget about me or something, but can I ask you guys something?" Anne asked Anya curiously while this made both Anya and Nancy raise an eyebrow before answering.

"Sure, anything, what's up?" Nancy responded to the question while waiting for an answer from Anne.

Anne took a few deep breaths before taking her camera out while looking at Mai as she began to respond to the question.

"I would like to photograph Mai, you and Anya's friend. It's for my final project for the semester, and I wanted to take photos of her beauty, and her overall character if that's okay with you." Anne curiously asked Nancy and Anya in hopes of the two girls accepting her answer.

Mai on the other hand would feel intrigued by this offer, and she would stand up from her seat to give her answer in place of Anya and Nancy.

"I would love to and it doesn't sound too bad, so I accept your offer." Mai responded with a smile while this made Anne smile back joyfully.

"Really?! You accept my offer? How wonderful! Thank you so much." Anne cried out in joy while jumping up and down with excitement.

This small outburst of joy would cause Miss Joyce to tap her fingers on her desk and quickly silence Anne.

"Please quiet down, Anne, and please don't bother Anya and her friends while they're studying, okay?" Miss Joyce advised Anne sternly while Anne blushed with embarrassment before speaking back.

"Sorry, I'll be quieter, and I'm just talking to them, that's all." Anne responded in a much quieter voice while smiling at the librarian before turning her attention back to Mai and her others.

"So you'll accept? That's wonderful, let's take this outside, shall we? It should be sunny today so we should be good." Anne asked Mai while heading toward the door with Mai and the others following her.

"Of course. This should be quite fun. I have never done this sort of thing before but it doesn't hurt to try new things." Mai responded kindly before exiting the door alongside Anne while Anya and Nancy followed along.

"Mai seems happy. I'm glad she and Anne could bond over this. It's also helping Anne as well so everyone wins in the end." Anya spoke to Nancy with a smile on her face while her friend nodded in agreement.

"I agree, and for a second, I thought Anne was going to challenge us to another dodgeball match." Nancy responded back with a slight chuckle while Anya chucked back before heading out of the library.

The four girls would walk away from the library by walking across the hallways and eventually entering the main quad that was outside which had a tree in the center.

"Perfect! This should be a great place for me to take some photos. I feel like the snow that's in the tree could bring out the aesthetics that I'm searching for." Anne spoke joyfully while walking close to the tree so she could set her bag down while Anya and the others watched.

"So, do you want me to make a pose or just smile? I'm free to do whatever you desire." Mai asked Anne curiously while walking over so she could be next to her as Anne began to respond to the question.

"Honestly just do whatever you want. If I was to direct you during the small session then I might as well not even do the project. I want you to do whatever might bring your personality and nature. It can be a cute pose, something smug, or just anything!" Anne responded kindly before letting out a smile which made Mai smile back.

"I see, that sounds wonderful, and I'll do whatever I can to ensure that you pass your final project so I'm ready whenever you are." Mai spoke to Anne once more while walking toward the tree so she could be in front of the camera.

This event was watched by Anya and Nancy as they observed the young girl preparing herself for the upcoming shoot.

"Alright, I'm ready whenever you are, Mai!" Anne advised Mai in an excited manner before pointing the camera in front of Mai so she could take the photos.

"I'm ready, Anne." Mai responded with a smile as she was ready to begin the session.

The photo session would begin with Mai slowly turning around to walk away from the camera and toward the tree, and this was followed by Mai turning her head over her shoulder and giving Anne a smile.

"The look-back pose! Love it! It totally fits your mysterious and cute aesthetic. You are doing wonderful so far, Mai." Anne complimented Mai in a joyful manner as she began to take three photos of Mai in that pose.

"Thank you. I didn't know what to do at first so I decided to do the first thing that came to my mind." Mai responded kindly while Anne seemed to be pleased with what she was hearing.

"And that's what matters most! Now do another pose! I truly want to see your colors shine! Be yourself!" Anne advised Mai kindly while placing the three photos in her pocket before getting back to position.

"Of course!" Mai responded kindly as she began to think of another pose to do than it came into her mind. Mai quickly walked behind the tree branch before slowly peeking her head from the other side of the tree with a smile.

"Cute! I love that pose! It truly captures your innocence. Keep still while I take these photos, okay?" Anne complemented Mai once more as she began to take a few photos of Mai while Anya and Nancy watched this event take place.

"Mai and Anne seem to be having fun. I'm glad that Anne is able to do her final project as well." Anya spoke to Nancy while the young girl nodded in agreement.

"I'm happy for them as well. It gives Mai a chance to come out of her shell while Anne does her final project so everyone wins." Nancy responded with a smile while she and Anya would continue to watch Anne's photo session.

"Okay, I need just a few more photos and we'll be done, okay? I want you to do something elegant and beautiful, but still maintain your sense of identity of course, how does that sound?" Anne advised Mai while Mai nodded in agreement.

"Of course, let me think of something, okay?" Mai kindly responded back. Mai would think of something to do as she looked around for what could inspire her then suddenly, something came in her mind as she looked at the snow that's on the ground.

"I got it. I should make a snow angel. That would be perfect for Anne's photography.." Mai thought to herself with a smile before falling on her back to do a snow angel.

"B-Beautiful. That Look on your face…I-It's wonderful.." Anne complimented while blushing to herself before quickly walking over toward Mai to take a few pictures of Mai doing snow angels.

The session would go on for a few more minutes as Mai did plenty of cute and smug poses and this would go on until Anne was completely done with her work.

Anne would go on to show the trio the photos that she had taken, and the results pleased Anya, Nancy, and Mai.

"W-Woow the photos turned out wonderful, you did great, Mai!" Anya complimented her friend with a smile on her face while looking at Anne's photos alongside Nancy and Anne.

"She's right. You look stunning. It goes to show how much beauty you have and Anne's sense of good photography." Nancy complimented Mai as well which made Mai smile warmly.

"Thank you, Anya and Nancy. It makes me happy to see my friends appreciate things like this." Mai responded kindly while sharing a warm smile with her friends. Anne would see this, and smile at the results of her work, and the joyous atmosphere that was caused by her photos.

"I'm glad everyone likes them, I'll be leaving now, but thank you Mai for volunteering and thank you Anya and Nancy for enjoying the photos. It makes me feel proud of myself." Anne spoke to the trio with a warm smile on her face while putting her camera and photos in her bag.

"Of course! We hope to see you again, and don't be afraid if you want another photo session. I'm always willing to help." Mai responded to Anne for the final time as she waved the girl goodbye while Anne waved back with a smile.

"O-Of course! I'll keep that in mind, thank you once again!" Anne responded back for the final time before walking over toward the hallway entrance as she let out a joyful smile.

"I did it! I did it! I knew Anya's friend would accept my offer. I didn't tell them this but I had zero confidence in my photo skills. I was kinda teased by them; however, seeing those three like my photos kinda gave me a confidence boost which makes me quite happy!" Anne thought to herself before jumping up in the air and letting out a rather joyful shout.
