Chapter 16

Barking up the Wrong Dog...or Secret Evil Organization?

It was just after sunrise when Kaiser's eyes opened, and he slowly rose up while looking around. He noticed he was at the Gosha Academy's Sick Bay, where all the injured students were taken to see if they were hurt or sick. His body was covered in gauze and bandages as a I.V was hookup to his right arm's median cubtial as it was supplying him with fluids and painkillers.

He looked over to his right to see Yukikaze sleeping next to him as she snuggled into him with an arm wrapped around his waist, holding him close. He could feel her small soft breasts against his side, but his mind went over what happened last night as he sighs to himself as he realizes that he was in some deep shit he really didn't want to be involved in.

Kaiser gently ran a hand through Yukikaze's long brown hair as she let out a moan of appreciation in her sleep as he could see that it had been quite a while since he had been admitted here by judging how long Yukikaze has been asleep for.

Shiranui, who had been quietly watching from the doorway let out a sigh of relief as her son seems to be okay with Asagi who was glad to see the young Taimanin awake and not to worse for wear. They both walked into the room as both women saw Kaiser shifting on the bed as he was trying to get up. Both stopped the Taimanin and told him to relax.

Kaiser glared at Asagi as he refused to speak to her after last night. Asagi saw this and knew Kaiser was not happy at his sudden house arrest after he finally started to trust and listen to her, but it had to be done.

"(sigh) I understand that you may be upset with me, Kaiser-san...," Kaiser rudely scoffed at Asagi as she continued, "but this was done for your own good."

Asagi told the boy as she remembered the furious look he gave her when he found out that he was taken off of active duty and would be unable to leave the village without a chaperon after his encounter with Edwin Black from last night. Kaiser gave no indication that he even listened to what she said; instead, he turned away from her and looked over to Shiranui with a questioning look.

"I know what you're thinking, and even if you managed to sneak out, the entire village will be on the lookout for you," Asagi warned him with a stern face as Kaiser huffed loudly.

"Besides, you should be thankful that you still have some antonym," she added, as he could tell that he was less than pleased to hear her excuses. "(Sigh)...look Kaiser-san, once word gets out that Edwin Black managed to break into Gosha Village and that you face off against him... well, chaos and rumors will be exploding around as to what happened. I don't need to tell you that everything you told us has to be kept a secret. You absolutely cannot tell anyone that you met and fought with Edwin Black under any circumstances. Do I make myself clear?" Asagi said as she waited for a response from Kaiser.

The boy did not say anything but glared at her again before turning his back on Asagi completely, clearly not happy about this situation. It is worth noting that Yukikaze had been snoring quite loudly for the past five minutes or so, which only caused Kaiser to be at least a little bit less upset than he already was.

Shiranui tried to calm her adopted son down while she whispered something in Yukikaze's ear that finally got her attention. The young girl stirred a bit on the bed, looking groggy as she rubbed her eyes.

"Huh? Mommy? What time is it?" Yukikaze said as she was half awake. It took her awhile to rub the sleep from her eyes as she looked to see her big brother was a wake. "ONII-CHAN! You're okay! What happened? All Mommy told me was you got into a fight and got hurt badly."

Yukikaze innocently asked her question to Kaiser, looking at him. Asagi gave him a look that dared him to disobey her orders as Kaiser narrowed his eye at Asagi as he glared in defiance at her.

"It was a demon who was able to sneak into the village and attacked me on my way home. She was crazy as well as strong...but don't worry...I took care of them." Kaiser said as he partially told his little sister the truth while omitting key facts. "As you can see, I'm okay; after all, Your Big Brother Is Strong."

Kaiser gave his little sister a slight smile, hoping that it would satisfy Yukikaze for now. He did not want to keep this secret from his younger sibling forever, but he knew it was better for everyone if Yukikaze was kept in the dark about his real fight with the Vampire King.

It did not seem like Yukikaze bought what he said entirely as she looked worriedly at him.

"Onii-chan, your acting weird even more than normal." Yukikaze muttered, which only caused Kaiser to sighs once again before turning his gaze back on Asagi, clearly still annoyed with the situation.

"Well, you can thank that person over there standing like a weirdo." Kaiser said as Yukikaze turned around to finally notice the principle Asagi Igawa, the strongest Taimanin in Gosha Village.

"HEADMISTRESS! What are you doing here?" Yukikaze shrieked as she automatically stood up at attention. Yukikaze looked up to her big brother and mother, but Asagi Igawa was one of the people she wanted to acknowledge her the most, as she was the ideal Taimanin: beautiful, strong, smart, sexy, and able to command respect wherever she went. To Yukikaze, she did everything she could to reach the position that the Commander and Headmistress had achieved.

Asagi giggled a bit seeing Yukikaze so happy just from her mere presence, while Kaiser thought that it was creepy and disturbing.

"I am glad you are alright, Yukikaze." Asagi said in a calm voice while giving her usual smile, making the girl swoon at her.

"Um... Headmistress Igawa... why are you here to check? To check up on my Onii-chan?" Yukikaze asked with a mix of shock and confusion. She knew that Asagi was the leader of Gosha Academy and thus had power within the village, but she could not understand why Asagi would go out of her way to come see her big brother, who has been on the record of getting on the headmistress's nerves with his trouble-making.

"Yes, well I heard about what happened and wanted to make sure that Wrath-san was okay. It seems my concern has been wasted, as I can see he will be fine now." Asagi said with a slight frown at Kaiser who stuck his tongue at her like a naughty brat, which made Yukikaze even more nervous. "Kaiser Wrath, I hope you have learned your lesson and that you do not try fighting demons again who are strong even if it's for the sake of others."

Asagi turned back around to look at Yukikaze again and smiled once again before giving a short bow. "Yukikaze, could you please step out of the room... I would like to talk to your brother in private. Don't worry, he's not in trouble."

Kaiser snorted with his arms crossed as Asagi glared at him quickly to shut him up before putting on a friendly face for Yukikaze.

"Your mother will be here with me as we discuss what happened, okay?" Asagi said with a soft smile.

"O-okay..." Yukikaze was obviously nervous as she nodded and began to get walk towards the door as she gave her big brother one last look. Kaiser, though, did nothing to stop Yukikaze just nodded at her that he will be fine and so she just continued on wondering about the strange situation her big brother was in. Once she left the room, Asagi's facial expression went back to a more serious face, and the friendly aura around her vanished into thin air as she walked up to the chair as she took a seat next to Kaiser's bed.

"Your sister is safe from all this, but I would rather involve as few people as possible in this affair. Kaiser-san, you have one of two choices. Option 1: You are placed under house arrest while being under surveillance 24/7 to ensure your safety, "Asagi said as she crossed her arms and legs." Or Option 2: You will have a Chaperon with you at all times as you still go on with your day-to-day life as we try to prepare some... arrangements for your situation. So Mr. Wrath, what's it going to be?"

Kaiser sighs as he knew like he had no choice in the matter and said, "I am fine with option two, since I know that whatever else couldn't be worse than being watched by you perverts... this is such bullshit."

"Tsk... You better remember that you are on thin ice once we leave this room or it can become worse for you if you decide to cause any more trouble." Asagi said, looking at him like he was a naughty child being punished. It was obvious that she wanted to say more but refrained and decided to just change the subject instead. "Well, then, on the other hand, I do have a bit of good news for you."

Asagi had a smile, as if she hadn't just threatened Kaiser earlier.

"And that would be?" Kaiser replied, raising an eyebrow at Asagi's sudden change in attitude.

Asagi took a deep breath before continuing.

"You should know why by now, Kaiser-san," she said while staring straight into Kaiser's eyes. "After this incident and with your current situation... I have decided to bring you in, formally, as part of the Taimanin Task Force."

"What?" Kaiser gave her a deadpan face, as he couldn't believe what he just heard. "It's one thing after another with you people. First you treat me as an prisoner, and now you want to bring me in the most Elite Task Force in Japan?" Kaiser sighed, placing his hands behind his head as he leaned back into his pillow.

"I mean, how many people can you honestly think of that have such an extensive amount of knowledge of both Demon society and weaponry? With your skills, you could even rival me or Kotaro?" Asagi explained, "Your strength has proven itself, and... We are going to need your help once we find Edwin Black." Asagi paused to let Kaiser actually think about his answer. The longer he waited, though, the more it appeared like he wasn't even considering the question at all.

It was so unexpected that even his brain had trouble comprehending what Asagi was suggesting. The thought never even crossed his mind, but he quickly tried to act like it wasn't a big deal. After a moment or two, Kaiser finally spoke up again, with a sigh escaping his mouth.

"The fact that you want to involve me in the Taimanin Task Force is something I never expected... First you wanted to keep me away from Black, and now...You want me to help you hunt him down...(sigh), you have a strange way of doing things, Asagi." Kaiser just sat on his bed staring at the wall, not saying anything or even looking at anything in particular.

"Think of it as a way to do both keep an eye on you and allow you to still be technically on active duty...this way The Council of Elders will be appeased and you get to keep some form of autonomy." Asagi said as she knew this was the only way to reign Kaiser in without drawing any suspicion from The Elders. "So I take that you'll accept this offer then?"

Kaiser let out an audible sigh. He didn't know what was going to happen from now on, but it certainly couldn't be worse than being kept under house arrest like some sort of prisoner. "Fine, I'll accept it. It's not like I have a choice after all, you got me by the balls here..ya fucking cunt."

Kaiser quietly whispered the last part, but Asagi heard it as she kept a calm face, but if you looked closely, she had a vein popping out on her forehead to show her annoyance at the belligerent and rude young Taimanin.

"Well, then now that is settled, as your new commanding officer and boss, I order you to report to the training grounds tomorrow morning at 7am for your formal induction." Asagi finished, giving Kaiser one last glare before she got up and exited the room without another word.

"(Sigh) how did I end up here?" He continued to ask, completely flabbergasted. "Why me?"

Kaiser was exhausted as he took out the I.V from his arm as his mother handed him some gauze along with some coban for him to wrap around his elbow she found in the infirmary sick bay room as she giggled at her son's antics.

"Well, sweetie, think of it this way: you get both freedom and protection from The Elder's politics to at least be able to operate as a Taimanin still... actually, this situation of yours sounds similar to someone else in the village." Shiranui hinted as she smiled at her son.

"Oh, who would that be, mama? Who in this village is more screwed than I am at this moment?" Kaiser huffed as he pouted in front of his adoptive mother, who proceeded to see her precious adopted son throwing a childish temper tantrum.

"Well, I think you'll meet them tomorrow, but for now... you need some rest to heal." Shiranui said as she placed a hand on her son's lap. "My precious son, I know things right now are not the way you wanted them to turn out, but please believe me when I say that Asagi is on your side. I am always on your side, and I would never do anything to hurt you." Shiranui said as she gave her some a look of unconditional love as she hugged him. "This will pass soon, and who knows...I think this will help you make new friends and give you that something you were missing—a cause to fight for and a place that you feel wanted."

Kaiser sighed as he hugged his mother back, "But mama, I don't want anything else but to be with you and Yukikaze...but if you think this will help me then...I'll trust you like I always have." Kaiser said as he remembers the day that Shiranui found him wandering the rain lost and alone before she gave him her hand and changed his world.

"Thank you, my dear." Shiranui replied, kissing her son's cheek, and then she began to leave the room. "Now try and get some rest, for tomorrow will be a big day." She continued as the young Taimanin yawned and laid down under the covers.

The sky's clouds began to grey as signs of a rain shower began to appear...Kaiser had always hated the rain.

As they parted ways, Shiranui walked along the corridor, heading towards the elevator. When she heard the doors open again, she saw Rinko with a fruit basket and some get-well-soon flowers. Shiranui smiled softly at Rinko as she knew the Older Akiyama was going to see her son and thought she would tease her a little for it.

"Oh, Hello Rinko." She asked as the other woman nodded her head in response and placed her gift.

"Hello Oba-san. I hope your day is going well so far and with no problems." The older sister commented. "Oh, is Kai-kun... is he okay?"

Rinko asked as she was concerned about Kaiser when she heard that he was attacked on his way home and by a really strong demon no less. How one managed to sneak into Gosha village was anyone's guest, but she was glad to hear that he was recovering after he defeated the demon. She had hope to see him, but for some reason the school nurse, Saki Himehagi, was limiting people from seeing Kaiser. The only reason that Rinko was allowed was because of her close relation with the Mizuki family that an exception was made.

"Nothing to worry about, Rin-chan; no real issues as of yet. I, myself, am just enjoying looking after my son." Shiranui said as she smiled softly at the girl. "But please don't be too distressed... Kaiser is having a lot to deal with and needs to recover.

"Yes, of course, Oba-san. Umm, well, I should be going now. Please give my regards to Yukikaze-sama." Rinko said with a slight blush on her face.

"Of course... and Rin-chan...try not to do anything I wouldn't do. I'm not ready to be a grandmother yet." Shiranui giggled as she saw the usually calm and collected girl turn into a blubbering mess as her face turned red as a tomato.

"O-Oba-san!" Rinko could not think of a proper reply to that comment, and her feet were moving before her brain could catch up. "Sorry, but I have... umm... have to go. Thank you for the chat. Goodbye and have a pleasant day, Oba-san."

Shiranui couldn't help but giggle as she watched Rinko's reactions. However, the older woman became serious, and her thoughts drifted back to what had happened yesterday. Shiranui was still trying to digest all the new information about her son and his current predicament; however, she knew she had some investigation that she had to do concerning the matter.

Kaiser was resting on the infirmary bed as he heard a knock on the door, thinking that he had no more visitors for the day. "Come in the door is open." As the door opened, Kaiser was surprised to see Rinko holding a fruit basket and a bouquet of flowers. "Rin-Rin?...What a surprise...umm...hey..." Kaiser felt awkward as the relationship between him and Rinko was still in its beginning stages, so he was unsure how to interact with her.

"Hi Kai-kun, I hope that I am not bothering you as of right now." Rinko said, bowing slightly and putting the basket down on a nearby table and placing the flowers gently beside it.

"No, it's no bother at all. Please take a seat next to me; there's room." Kaiser quickly replied, his usual blunt nature kicking in. "Also, you don't need to be so formal. We're friends after all."

"Thanks, ummm Kai-kun... I'm still not used to this... to us, I mean...not that it's your fault or anything!" Rinko blushed as she was extremely self-conscious and shy about the imitate relationship she and her childhood friend have now. It was only yesterday that they confessed to each other, and now neither one knew how to approach one another without the awkwardness of teenage drama.

"No! I mean...umm, it's cool...ahh well, uhh...sigh... (Chuckles)... Look at us. Growing up, we were so use to butting heads with each other so much; we would argue, then fight, and then we would make up and apologize to each other...and now we can't even hold a conversation...but I'm happy you came to see me, Rin-Rin." Kaiser said as he decided to bite the bullet and be honest with his emotions. This was how Kaiser viewed his relationships—to face things head-on and never shy away from things that made him uncomfortable. He views himself as a man and would conduct himself as one. So, he figured might as well start acting like it too.

"Hehe, yeah. That was us, huh, a little rough around the edges, but good times." Rinko said, remembering the fun and crazy adventures and hijinks she and Kaiser went through when they were kids. Though the both of them would end up bickering or arguing a lot, the two did care very deeply for each other and were a source of comfort, strength, and a shoulder to lean on if ever needed.

"Yeah. I see you brought some fruit. Mind if I have some." Kaiser said as he reaches out to grab an apple, but his hand is stopped by Rinko.

"No, please...let me peel them for you." Rinko asked as she grabbed a small knife in the basket and began peeling the apple for Kaiser. "You know Tatsuro was shocked when he heard you were attacked and wanted to come, but I told him that you were fine and didn't need to be coddled... but he was still worried after all...you are his new teacher now." Rinko giggled as she saw Kaiser grumble.

"Of course he would... (sigh) that little brother of yours is a hand full... well, I hope he is ready for the hell I'm going to put him through." Kaiser said as he scoffs at the intense training regimen he had prepared for Tatsuro. Rinko gave him a look of concern before Kaiser calmed her down. "(Sigh) Don't worry, I'm not going to kill him or anything crazy like when we sparred that one time, "Kaiser mentioned the one time he and Tatsuro sparred that end with the younger Akiyama in the infirmary for a broken arm.

"Please just don't go overboard on him; he is still young and inexperienced, so please be patient with him." Rinko asked as she knew that Kaiser could be a little intense.

"Rinko, I promise to take care of your little brother while he is learning under me," Kaiser said as his promises were oaths that he always would keep, even to his own detriment, "but he asked me to make him stronger, and he ain't going to get stronger to protect what he loves if I baby him... He came to me like a man, and so I'm going to train him like a man."

"Yeah...ok," Rinko sighed, but she would worry anyway.

"You worry too much. Trust me, when I'm done with him, he'll be the talk of his class. He'll be so strong that he might grow a pair and take my little sister's feelings seriously." Kaiser said as he finally admitted that he would approve of Tatsuro dating his little sister if only the boy grew a spine and had some self-esteem...and perhaps a bit of a rebellious streak.

"Heheh. Well, you would say that." Rinko admitted with a blush and a smile, "But you never told me why you were attacked by that demon."

"Oh that..." Kaiser was nervous, as he knew he couldn't tell Rinko the exact details of his fight with Edwin Black due to him promising Asagi to keep quiet about it. "Well, it happened so fast, but I was making my way back home after I finished talking to you and your brother back at the academy when I saw a little crying girl about her lost cat. Well, I couldn't let this kid down, so I tried to help her. I found out really quick she was a demon in disguise and tried to kill me. We fought and I beat the shit out of her before she ran away... and the rest is history."

"Are you ok?"

"Of course I'm fine. As if the stupid demon really was a child like she appeared to be, than her attacks barely tickled me."

"That's not what I meant. What did her abilities and power level look like?"

"Hmmm...she seemed young and cute...maybe late teens or early twenties? And her power level was high, almost as high as mine, but she was batshit insane—like really insane. I mean, I fought against crazy people before, but she was on a whole new level of crazy. I hope I never meet her again."

"Was she that insane? And almost as strong as you... I wonder what could have possessed her to try to hurt you."

"Beats me; I mean, I am not the most like person around, especially with the Demons. Maybe she thought she could take me and make a name for herself, but regardless, she got BTFO, and I walked away with a few scratches." Kaiser bragged as he pointed to the bandages on his back.

"Kai-kun?! Those could have been fatal. She did a lot more damage than you let on."

"It's nothing; besides, it's healed, and the best thing that came from it is I get to skip school today."

"Well, you do know that Murasaki sensei is going to have to do a lot of make-up work, hmm... But seriously, are you sure that you are alright? You are a bit different today."

"Sheesh rain on my parade, why don't you..." Kaiser grumbled, "But you're not the only one that noticed... Asagi asked me the same question, and I assure you there is no need to worry." Kaiser said he was trying to dismiss Rinko's question. "I'm alright, just a day's rest, and I'll be back on my feet in no time."

Rinko frowned, not entirely convinced by his statement. Kaiser could see the concern etched across her face, and even though they both knew how hard it was for him to admit weakness.

"I swear that I'm alright. Nothing but a good day's rest won't help, maybe two. Besides, I've done worse and fought tougher opponents. Remember the day we first had our first mission together with Uehara-sensei, when you and I fought that armored Demon that called himself "The Second Coming of Shuten Doji"? Bastard was tough, but we managed to defeat him without too many injuries. I'd call that a win in my book, despite his fancy attacks and sword that could cut through anything that didn't stop me from kicking its ass." He flexed his left arm for added effect.

"That was years ago, and yet you can't even go an hour without getting hurt, and now your here after fighting a really strong demon. If this was anyone else, they would have already been sent packing to am early grave." Rinko shot him a glare, not fully satisfied, but she seemed resigned.

"Well, I'm not anyone else. I'm Kaiser Wrath, the toughest, meanest, and most badass mother fucker there is out there." Kaiser chuckled at the last part as he was technically fucking his adopted mother. "But don't worry too much. You'll cause wrinkles on that beautiful face of yours."

"You can be real sweet when you want to be, you know?" She punched him lightly on the shoulder, almost a light tap compared to his own punches.

"Oww!" he cried out, faking some sort of pain; if anything, he barely felt her strike.

"See, see. What did I tell you? The longer I know you, the more I think that something is up." Rinko leaned forward, closing the gap between them, bringing her face closer.

"Now don't go throwing words like that around. You know I suck at lying... remember that time when I tried to steal candy from Natsu-san's store and tried to blame it on aliens... yeah, I got in big trouble for that... but I guess it's okay to tell you this... Rinko, Asagi told me that she was going to put me in the Taimanin Task Force."

"WHAT? Asagi is putting you into the T.T.F.? What happened for her to let you a 3rd year student in so early?" Rinko eyes wide open.

"Well, I did just fight and survive a really strong demon who snuck into the village undetected, so that might explain the change of heart." He grinned sheepishly and scratched the back of his head.

"That sounds like you alright... so what does that mean for you?"

"Well, from what Asagi told me, I'm going to have a chaperon for a while to observe me so that I don't get into trouble because, you know, my reputation for getting into trouble." Kaiser said, omitting some key facts but not straight-out lying to Rinko.

"So do you know who your team is supposed to be?" Rinko asked.

"Nope, but I'll find out tomorrow."

"I see..." Rinko hummed as she finished peeling the apple as she began to cut the peeled apple into slices.

"Hey, don't worry too much; if anything, this is an improvement. Now I get to be a part of an elite group and maybe get the elders off my back...and perhaps rub it in that asshole Yogore's face...fuck that guy, seriously."

"..."

"...What's the matter, Rinko?" He turned his attention to her.

"It's nothing, Kaiser; now eat." Rinko finished cutting the apple into slices as she had an idea. "Kai...umm, would you listen to my request of mine?"

"Hmm...sure, what is it?" Kaiser was willing to fulfill any request from his childhood friend and now lover. "I trust you, Rinko."

"Well... umm... I... I would like to feed you... okay with that..." Rinko's face was red as she was looking down at her hands fiddling with her fingers.

"Oh...umm...sure... Ok."Kaiser swallowed as saw the look she gave him.

"(Deep Breath)...okay...umm...say ahh." Rinko's red face and trembling hands grab an apple slice as she was trying to feed Kaiser just like in the shoujo manga's that Yukikaze liked to read.

Kaiser felt a strange sensation seeing a very nervous Rinko try and feed him and did not want to make her more uncomfortable than she looked. He opened his mouth and gently bit the offered piece.

"Ahh...hmmm." As he chewed on the food, his taste buds were overwhelmed. He wanted to make Rinko happy, as seeing her act so...feminine made Kaiser want to take her right here and now.

"Did...did you like it?" Her words snapped Kaiser out of his lewd thoughts as his mind came back into focus.

"Huh? ... OH! Yeah...uhh..yeah, it was good. Mind feeding me another...Rin-Rin." Kaiser felt his face light up with desires but kept himself in check as Rinko fed him another apple slice.

"Ok." A simple word, yet Rinko's voice became soft and filled with love. She continued her task and fed him each slice and smiled every time Kaiser's tongue darted across her fingers after eating one.

"There all done." Rinko felt her heart beating very loudly and fast as her eyes stared at her beloved with a feeling of wanting more.

"Thanks for the food, Rin-Rin." Kaiser said in a husky and almost seductive manner as he felt his eye wander Rinko's almost doll-like face.

"Heh...heh...hey Kai, umm...would be alright if I...I..." Rinko could not finish the sentence as her shyness was just too much. Kaiser decided to trust his instincts and gently put his hand on top of Rinko's hand as he softly rubbed circles on top of it.

"Tell me...what you...want... Rinko." Kaiser said in a deep and whispery voice as he inched his face closer to Rinko's.

"(Gulp)...umm."

The room was completely still, except for the two humans staring deeply into the other's eyes, unable to look away. Their hearts were pounding loudly, and their minds were racing to the same conclusion.

"Kiss me." The thought that left the woman's lips sounded like a prayer, and as soon as it did, the man closed the distance between their faces, sealing them together with a sweet, slow kiss.
