The vampire princess's first day of classes was a bit calm, although she stood out quite a bit: Thanks to her quick learning, she was able to understand the subjects and even answer the teacher's questions correctly. She felt like she was in her tutoring sessions, but not with the pressure her tutors gave her to become the Vampire Queen, something that for the first time felt pleasant to learn. She knew how to draw very well, something that she had to know in Amarant since vampires didn't reflect, so portraits were necessary.
In gymnastics, although she regulated her vampire strength, speed and agility a little, she stood out notably at the level of an Olympic candidate. She won the admiration of her classmates for being intelligent and skilled in sports. Unlike the vampire kids who (praised) her only for being the heiress of the Vasilescu, the praise from her human classmates felt good because they were genuine, it didn't take long for Selene to become a model of an outstanding and charming student like Dekisugi is.
For Selene, it was more fun being an elementary school student than a girl who lived under pressure to pass a tight schedule of preparation to be the perfect model like her father was, or at least that's what she said. So standing out in a human school was very simple in comparison.
Although there were a couple of things that were not very much to her liking: She had to pretend that she liked to eat human food even though it tasted sour to her except for red foods. And when they handed out grades for an exam prior to her appearance, she saw how Nobita had gotten another 0 to his collection, which made a certain pair laugh quietly about it, which Selene didn't like one bit.
Seeing how the boy was scolded strongly by the teacher, brought back memories of how she spent years being prepared and that the slightest mistake was a reason for scolding by the vampire council who were in charge of preparing her.
Of course Dekisugi got a 100, he was the model of a perfect student, which earned him the admiration of the girls and Shizuka who congratulated him. On a normal day, Nobita would have become very irritated and sad but it was enough with a "You're going to get it next time, I know that deep inside you believe that you can do better and I believe it too" for the boy to smile and not feel so bad, although he knew that a scolding from his mother would come but that mattered little to him today.
The look they gave each other while sitting was a curious scenario for everyone, the boys were somewhat envious because they were enchanted by Selene's cuteness, and the girls who got along so well with her, wondered how a cute and talented girl at school with a beautiful look preferred to pay attention to Nobita, the slow and stupid boy in class over the one who was the perfect boy in everything like Dekisugi.
Shizuka also noticed that friendship they both had and although she was happy that Nobita got along well with the new girl, on one side of her, she couldn't help but watch closely how Nobita talked to Selene as if they were friends for years.
It's no wonder that Selene paid more attention to Nobita, after all, he prevented those from Scarlet Moon from taking advantage of her weakness to eliminate her, he gave her a home and the opportunity to explore a new world. The boy felt good about her company, he was able to talk to her calmly, even finding support in the vampire in class, since his support outside of school is Doraemon.
The vampire bond had brought them together, but the friendship they formed was what made them close. That and the fact that it was normal that Nobita could be able to form bonds with unique people or those who needed a friend because of his ability to feel both the happiness of some and the pain of others.
Classes had ended, Shizuka was preparing her belongings, she wanted to do two things: Go with Dekisugi to the municipal library as agreed, and then go make some cookies at her house and give them to Nobita, since she wanted to see how he was yesterday but since she had to run some errands, she didn't have the chance and wanted to make it up to him with the cookies. Besides, she was still curious about the eyepatch and that attitude he had of changing his mind about the vampire theory. She had known him since before kindergarten, so those attitudes caught her attention.
The girl with pigtails had left school and was waiting for Dekisugi, who arrives immediately and she greets him smiling "Hello Dekisugi, ready to go? I want to do something else after going to the library so let's go now."
The smart boy just sighs with a sad look "Actually, I wanted to apologize to you Shizuka, something came up, dad called the school phone to tell me that mom also got sick with the flu, it seems there is a virus due to the change in climate, it isn't serious but I would like to take care of her, since dad is at work I'll go prepare some rice soup for her. How about we go tomorrow?"
"Oh, it's terrible. But it's good that you take care of your mother. No problem, the most important thing now is that you go take care of her, I hope she gets better" Shizuka answers with an understanding smile.
Dekisugi smiles at the good wishes "Thanks Shizuka, I will. See you tomorrow"
Shizuka watches as her friend rushes home because he is worried about his mother "Well then I'll go home directly to do the homework and prepare the cookies." At that moment Nobita approaches the entrance where Shizuka was waiting, she notices him and smiles "Hi Nobita"
"Hi Shizuka!" The boy with glasses greets her waving his hand and smiling. "I thought you went with Dekisugi to the library" Normally he would have said that reluctantly out of well, jealousy, after all he liked her, but today he said that in a calm manner.
"That was the plan, but he cancelled at the last minute because his mother had the flu." The girl comes up with an idea while her friend was there. "I was thinking of making some cookies after the library. Don't you want to come to my house? That way I can give them to you freshly made. After all, I couldn't go to your house yesterday to see how you were feeling and I want to make it up to you."
At first Nobita gets excited about the idea, he loved the desserts she made for him, but then he remembers something and calms down "T-the truth is, it sounds good. But today I won't be able to, I promised Selene that I would go around the city with her so she could get to know the neighborhood. B-but I appreciate the cookies, your desserts are very delicious"
The girl is startled, it was very rare for Nobita to reject her invitations if it wasn't for something urgent, what he always did was accept with enthusiasm and go with her, but this time it was different, she hears someone calling her friend, it was Selene who was also leaving school.
"Hello Shizuka" Selene waves smiling at her "Today was a really good first day, I had a lot of fun, I'm not one to go to high schools so this was a fresh change, thanks for accepting me as a classmate"
"Uh... Hi Selene. No problem, you're very talented, kind and skilled. I'm glad you're settling in" Shizuka smiles, her words were genuine although she couldn't help but feel a tickle in her chest for some reason.
"I am, it's better than my home" The vanpiress looks at her friend smiling at him "Shall we go now? Don't you want to come with us Shizuka?"
Nobita nods smiling and looks at Shizuka "Sounds good, let's go! Sure, we have to leave our backpacks at home first"
The girl with pigtails couldn't get over her astonishment, although she had to go back to earth because both guys were looking at her, she could only smile "Thanks for inviting me, although we have to do the homework first. What if we do it at my house instead? We'll go do that later. What do you think Nobita?"
The boy gets a little discouraged about having to do the homework, but he still accepts the idea just because they were going to do it at Shizuka's house, Selene also accepts, after all, for her, doing homework was something usual, but since she wasn't pressured like in Amarant, she liked the idea.
You could say that the way to the human girl's house was like two sides of a coin. On one side, both Nobita and Selene were talking about what everyday life was like in the neighborhood and how they were going to get around it, both smiling and laughing. And on the other side was Shizuka who was walking next to them staring at them, although she was happy to have another friend, a different smile was reflected on her face and a feeling in her chest that she didn't understand.
It was a scenario similar to the usual scenario that Nobita sometimes went through when he accompanied Shizuka and Dekisugi as they walked home together while chatting comfortably and the silly boy kept watching them attentively. Something certainly curious.
"Will you teach me how to make the bat figure out of thread later? It looked interesting" Nobita says while Selene nods smiling.
Shizuka really didn't know why she had a strange feeling in her chest when she saw the pair talking comfortably.
Arriving at Shizuka's house, Nobita calls his house to tell his mother that he was going to do his homework there with his friends. This surprised his mother, but at the same time she felt happy that he was going to do his homework first.
In her room, Selene is surprised as she visits her new friend's house, especially Shizuka's space. "How cuuuute. Where I live, I don't usually see such colorful spaces." The vampire looks at the stuffed animals in the room, her excitement was on the surface. "What adorable stuffed animals! In my hometown's room, I have a giant bat stuffed animal that I usually hug before going to sleep."
"Do you like bats?" Selene nods at Shizuka's question, the pigtailed girl found that detail curious and Nobita laughed nervously at that question, until another curious thing happened: Shizuka had a small pot with pink vervain in the same place where a couple of stuffed animals that Selena was looking at were.
As expected, she backs away in fear hiding behind Nobita while he gets more nervous. "What's wrong?" Shizuka asks confused by the reaction of both.
"Uhhh..." Nobita looks to both sides for a while until he reacts "It's that... Ummm... Selene is allergic to vervain!" The silly boy for now had to protect Selene's vampire identity, even from Shizuka despite the fact that they saw all kinds of creatures throughout their adventures, since he was afraid that his friend would be too scared of the platinum girl due to the strange events caused by the Scarlet Moon's. He was planning to tell her when things calmed down a bit.
"Y-yeah, it's just that... Vervain makes my body burn and my throat and stomach hurt, that's why I avoid even touching one, sorry if that bothers you"
"Oh, don't worry, I understand if you're allergic, mom bought it for my room but I'll take it out right now so you won't be nervous" Shizuka says that with a compassionate smile, the allergies were terrible.
"Wow, it seems that Nobita knows Selene very well for them to have only been living in the same house for a short time" Shizuka couldn't help but think that while she takes the small flowerpot to the living room.
Moments later, the three of them were doing their homework on a low table, sitting on pillows. Nobita scratches his head because he doesn't understand a math problem. "I don't understand this, honestly, math overwhelms me."
"Let me see, Nobita, I think I know how to solve it." Shizuka looks at what the problem was, but to her surprise, it was one of the problems she was going to do with Dekisugi in the library because she didn't understand it either, so she was also a little lost. "Wow, it's the same exercise I was going to ask Dekisugi how to solve." Both Shizuka and Nobita sigh tiredly, but Selene calls both of their attention.
"I was able to solve it. Do you want me to explain it to you?" Surprised, the pair responds by nodding their heads to what the platinum girl suggested and she gladly explains to the pair. Shizuka understood well while Nobita needed the explanation at least three times to understand it, thus being able to finish today's homework.
Shizuka smiles satisfied for finishing but at the same time she was very surprised by Selene's abilities, she had only been to school for one day and had understood everything perfectly, in addition to her abilities, as a female Dekisugi but with silver hair. "You really are amazing Selene, you have adapted very quickly and you have stood out a lot for your first day"
Selene nods thanking the compliment "Where I live I received very heavy tutoring to stand out. I never went to school, so today was fun. I really appreciate it" The natural and sweet smile that characterized the vampiress made the pair happy.

The platinum girl just laughs quietly at her friend's praise "You can do it too Nobita, trying to understand that problem even though it took you three tries indicates that if you want you can do it too, there's nothing wrong if you can't do it the first time"
"Oh, I guess you have a point, although it's hard for me and it's very tiring" Nobita makes a tired face and then smiles sticking out his tongue, making the pair laugh having a good time.
All this while Shizuka watched them having a good time in silence but still smiling. Today was a day of curious things for her, although she really couldn't understand why for some reason she felt that strange tickling in her chest.
