Summary: As the Magic Knights fight to escape, Mars gets the upper hand in battle when he injures Asta badly and attempts to finish him off.
Mora laid on her back as she kept inhaling and exhaling weak breaths with a bloodied mouth.
"I'm fine. Forget about me for now and go look after her!" Noelle said to Mimosa.
"Oh, right, sure." Mimosa nodded as she halted her magic spell.
Mimosa rushed over towards Mora and began healing the wound. Athena and Ares immediately hovered over their unconscious host.
This wound… Mimosa thought in worry. Can I even heal it with the magic power I have left?
"Mora!" Yuno screamed.
"Open up your eyes!" Klaus yelled. "Where did all that ultimate power go?"
"You can't die before we fight!" Luck shouted.
"Try to hold on, Mora. You can do it." Mimosa said. "Do you hear me? You're not alone!"
"Please, Mora! Please wake up!" Athena pleaded.
"Don't you dare die on us!" Ares begged.
Once the fiery explosion vanished, Mars looked at an unconscious Mora as his flaring flames began healing his body.
"You're not worthy." Mars said. "Now, die."
Mars generated more harpe-shaped crystal blades in front of him. All the harpe-shaped crystal blades spun rapidly and launched forward towards Mora, Ares, Athena, and Mimosa.
"Mimosa, Ares, Athena, look out!" Yuno hollered.
Suddenly, Asta appeared out of nowhere and slashed right through the crystal blades into tiny pieces with his brand new sword. The sword was mostly covered in dirt with black markings on the blade. It has a heavily ornate hilt with a four-sided guard, a grip with a spiral design, and a sphere for the pommel.
Everyone collectively gasped.
"Where did that sword come from?" Mars asked with a surprised face.
"I saw what you did to Mora and you're gonna pay for that!" Asta yelled. He charged straight towards Mars. "Your new opponent is right here!"
Mars unleashed more harpe-shaped crystal blades at Asta. But Asta swung his sword and shattered all the crystal blades with swiftness. Asta then jumped up and swung his sword to strike Mars' armor that only struck him in the shoulder.
"One for me!" Asta shouted.
Unfortunately, flaring flames began healing Mars' shoulder.
"Begone, boy!" Mars shouted with a glare.
Mars thrusted his crystallized fist forward down towards Asta, who blocked it with his sword and got pushed back to Mimosa, Athena, Ares, and Mora.
I can bust through his attack spells, but he's still got that Recovery magic. Asta thought. I can't finish him off. What now?
"Why are you just sitting there, insect?" Noelle spoke.
Asta's eyes widened and turned around to see Noelle sitting up on the ground.
"You're awake!" Asta said with a relieved smile. He looked at Mora with concern. "How's Mora?"
"She'll be fine." Mimosa replied.
"Listen to me. I am royalty, Asta." Noelle said. "And you are the first commoner I've accepted. Now, get moving. And don't you dare give up until you beat him. Understand?"
Suddenly, Asta's sword started to glow blue.
"Yeah, I'll bring this guy down." Asta smiled as he grasped his sword in a fighting stance. "And I'll get one or two hits in for you and Mora while I'm at it."
"Give up. You can't win." Mars sneered. "I live to destroy the weak!"
"Well, you're not gonna destroy me!" Asta screamed as Mars charged towards him. "I may not have any magic power, but what I do have…are my friends!"
Asta swung his sword and released a blue crescent-shaped blade of water magic right through Mars' crystal blades, sending it to head straight towards Mars.
"You think that's enough to defeat me?!" Mars yelled.
Mars raised his crystallized hands to block the magic slash, but that attack sliced right through the crystallized arms and struck him, which completely extinguished his healing flames and powerfully knocked him back.
Everyone became shocked and surprised by Asta's unexpected attack.
Wait, how is that possible? I didn't think he had any magic. Klaus thought.
A water-based slashing attack? Luck thought. His eyes looked at the girls. Did he borrow Noelle's magic?
What in the world is that sword? Klaus wondered in fear.
That sword is no joke! Ares and Athena exclaimed.
Yuno gasped with wide eyes as the blue glow disappeared from Asta's sword.
"I don't really know how, but I did it." Asta smiled.
Mars laid on the ground for a moment. But then, he suddenly rose back to his feet that immediately caught everyone's gasping attention.
I…I don't need anyone. Mars thought. As powerful as I am, I will never need anyone. Those who don't have power are weak, and the weak die.
"Are you kidding me?!" Asta exclaimed in annoyance.
"Impossible!" Klaus said.
"He can still move?" Luck said.
"Give up!" Mars roared as he glared furiously at Asta. "You're a pathetic, helpless little child. You never stood a chance of defeating me!"
Mars raised his crystallized hand in the air and created an enormous crystal sword.
Asta narrowed his eyes as he gripped his sword tightly in a fighting stance.
"No, Asta!" Yuno yelled as he started using his wind magic to free himself from the crystal restraint.
Klaus noticed that Asta's water-based slash had extinguished Mars' Flame Recovery Magic.
This is our chance. Klaus thought. Asta's last slash dispelled his Flame Recovery Magic. We could finish him off right now.
Almost there. Luck thought as he activated his lightning magic to free himself from the crystal restraint. A little longer and I'll break through this binding.
"Now die!" Mars yelled.
Mars swung his crystal sword down towards Asta, Mimosa, and Mora.
Yuno closed his eyes as he mustered up the large amount of his wind magic. In a burst of strength, he finally broke free from the crystal restraint.
"Asta! Mora!" Yuno hollered.
Yuno quickly ran toward his friends while flipping through every page of his grimoire.
No matter which spell I pull from my grimoire, it'll be too late! Yuno exclaimed in a panic. I can't let them die! Not like this!
Then suddenly, the four clover insignia on the front cover of Yuno's grimoire began to glow. An unforeseen radiance of powerful magic stopped everything around Yuno as if time stood completely still. Yuno gasped as he looked around with complete confusion. His friends, his squadmates, and the Black Bull members have all frozen in place. All except for Ares and Athena.
"Ares. Athena. What's happening?" Yuno asked as Ares and Athena flew towards him. "Did you two have something to do with this?"
"It wasn't us." Ares said. "We don't know what's going on."
"But we do sense a powerful mana." Athena said. "It's just like me and Ares, but the magic attribute is different."
Then, a sound of innocent yawn perked up Yuno's ears.
Yuno, Ares, and Athena turned their heads to the source of the yawn and looked at a tiny childlike fairy floating next to them. She has fair skin, green hair, green eyes, and pointed ears. She wore a short, sleeveless pale green dress and had a pair of insect-like wings on her back.
Yuno stared at the tiny fairy as he had no idea who she was or what was going on.
"Is that...?" Yuno asked slowly.
"A spirit? Yes." Ares replied. "That must be the fairy from Mora's vision."
"The spirit of the wind." Athena said.
The tiny fairy rubbed her eyes and opened them to witness the fighting scene right towards her. She held out her hand and blew out a gust of wind towards Mars. The wind flew over and touched Mars' sword, shattering it into pieces and causing it to explode. The sudden shockwave of the wind powerfully shattered Mars' armor and slammed him into the wall.
Once the flow of time returned, everyone stood their position with shocked gasps as they watched an unconscious Mars falling to the floor from the large crater on the wall. But Yuno was surprised most of all as he noticed that the little fairy had disappeared.
"What happened? Is it over?" Klaus wondered. "Did Yuno finish him?"
With Mars knocked out, his crystal binding spell disappeared and freed Klaus and Luck.
"The binding spell…it's broken!" Klaus said. He then rushed over towards Yuno. "Yuno! What did you do?"
"Yeah, really. What magic was that?" Luck asked as he ran towards Klaus and Yuno.
"I don't know." Yuno replied with confusion.
"Don't know...what?" Klaus repeated.
"There was this tiny person." Yuno said as he looked around for the little fairy.
"A tiny person?" Klaus repeated again.
"I think." Yuno said.
"You must be tired. We can discuss this later." Klaus said. He placed his hand on Yuno's shoulder. "There will be time. He's down now. For good."
Yuno glanced at his grimoire and gasped when he saw a new page written in the same text that was in the scroll earlier.
This writing. Is it from that scroll? Yuno wondered.
Klaus looked at the strange writing with a quiet gasp.
Mimosa continued healing Mora's injury just as Ares and Athena flew towards her.
Asta noticed his grimoire was suddenly flipping through pages. His new sword moved from his grip and sank into his grimoire, scribbling new writing on both pages.
Then suddenly, a loud explosion erupted and debris started crumbling down from the ceiling.
Everyone gasped in shock.
"Well, that's just great." Klaus said tiredly. "A trap spell?"
Yuno quickly ran toward Mora and carried her in his arms.
"The ceiling's caving. It's going to collapse!" Yuno said as he quickly opened up his grimoire. "Celestial Wind Ark!"
Yuno created a large tornado that carried him and Mora up underneath his feet.
"Everybody, get on. It's time to leave." Yuno said.
The Golden Dawns and the Black Bulls immediately jumped onto Yuno's tornado.
"Now, let's go." Klaus ordered.
"Wait! We've gotta help him too!" Asta said as he looked at the unconscious Mars.
"What are you saying, Asta?" Klaus gasped with puzzlement. "Did you forget that he's been trying to kill us?"
"We were sent here to protect the dungeon's treasure." Asta argued. "To keep the things here safe, not to kill."
"He does have a point." Luck agreed. "It would be a shame to let such a tough guy just die like that, you know?"
Yuno began moving his tornado straight towards Mars, but he immediately halted when a large debris crashed and blocked his path from getting close to him.
"There's no time! Leave him! Let's go!" Klaus yelled.
Yuno's tornado flew out of the treasure hall. But Yuno was having a hard time searching for an immediate exit as the entire dungeon kept collapsing all around him and the others.
Where's the exit? Yuno thought. He looked at Mimosa over his shoulder. Mimosa can't guide us out without recovering her mana in time.
Luckily, Luck's lightning mana sense managed to locate immediate entrances that can guide them out of the collapsing dungeon.
"Make a right now." Luck said suddenly. "I can guide us out of here."
"Yeah, sure." Yuno nodded.
Yuno made a right turn into a tunnel.
"Left here!" Luck said.
"Okay." Yuno said.
Yuno then made a left turn into another tunnel.
Then, two large debris began falling directly on top of everyone on Yuno's tornado. But Klaus and Luck used their steel and lightning magic to demolish the debris. Ares and Athena also combined and unleashed their powerful flames at every falling debris.
"Okay, full speed ahead!" Luck shouted.
"Got it!" Yuno said.
With Luck's directions, Yuno kept moving his tornado with every turn in the collapsing dungeon. Klaus, Luck, Ares, and Athena destroyed a large falling debris with their magic. But a chunk of debris was shot out from the right side of the tunnel, which Noelle immediately rose and crushed it with a blast of water with her wand.
"I hit it." Noelle said as she looked down at her wand in surprise.
"They're still coming." Klaus warned.
"Right. On it!" Noelle nodded.
Noelle, Klaus, Luck, Ares, and Athena continued blasting every debris with their magic as Yuno kept flying his tornado out of the dungeon and Mimosa continued to heal Mora. Asta, on the other hand, was holding on as tight as he could.
"There's our exit!" Yuno yelled.
Yuno thrusted his tornado forward and successfully escaped the dungeon just before it completely fell apart.
"Yes!" Asta cheered.
"We made it out!" Noelle smiled happily.
"That was so close!" Mimosa said.
"Thank goodness." Athena said.
"Well, that was fun, huh?" Luck beamed.
"I like your spunk, kid." Ares grinned.
"Lunatics." Klaus grumbled as he adjusted his glasses.
"Watch it, four eyes!" Ares snapped as he moved close to Klaus's startled face.
"Let's head that way." Yuno said as he pointed his finger forward.
With that, Yuno steered his tornado forward.
Mora groaned on the ground. She slowly began to open her eyes and looked up to see Yuno, Asta, Athena, Ares, Noelle, Mimosa, Luck, and Klaus looking down at her with relieved smiles on their faces.
"Hey, Mora." Asta said.
"Thank goodness." Noelle smiled.
Klaus looked away and adjusted his glasses.
"Welcome back." Mimosa said.
"Hey, you made it." Luck said.
"Oh, Mora. We're so glad you're okay." Athena and Ares said as they flew and hugged Mora.
Mora sat up and winced in pain.
"You ok?" Yuno asked as he took a step to Mora.
"Yeah, I'm a little bit hurt." Mora replied. "But I'm good."
"It was close for a while there, but you recovered very quickly." Mimosa said as her flower robe vanished.
Yuno knelt in front of Mora as Ares and Athena moved away behind him. He wrapped his arms around Mora's shoulder into a soft hug and closed his eyes.
"I'm so glad Mimosa was able to heal you." Yuno whispered. "I thought I lost you back there."
Mora's cheeks rose with a blush and she looked at Yuno with a soft smile.
"Sorry, I didn't have enough magic power to heal you completely. It was more like first-aid, so maybe don't move?" Mimosa said.
"I'll be fine. Thanks, Mimosa." Mora smiled.
"Yeah, she might be dead if it weren't for you." Asta said as he looked at Mimosa. "Thanks a lot."
"Uh, no, it's…" Mimosa said. She stood up and hid behind Noelle with a blushed face. "Sure."
"And besides, there's no dying for Mora." Asta added. "Not until she becomes a Magic Knight Captain. Just like I will become the Wizard King."
"Poor Asta. You wish." Yuno said with a grin as he shook his head while lifting Mora up on her feet. "I am going to become the Wizard King."
Asta and Yuno chuckled.
"You two are impossible." Mora smiled.
"You three."
Yuno, Mora, and Asta looked at Klaus, who walked up to them.
"Klaus, sir?" Yuno said.
"I have something to say." Klaus said. He approached Yuno, Mora, and Asta before wrapping them in a squishing hug. "I'm so very sorry!"
Yuno, Mora, and Asta were caught by surprise. Luck, Athena, Ares, Noelle, and Mimosa also looked surprised.
"I rejected you three because you're commoners, and for that, I am ashamed." Klaus continued. "You three are exemplary Magic Knights. The order is lucky to have you!"
"Sir." Yuno breathed. "Sir. A bit too tight."
"I'm still hurt." Mora added.
"Can't breathe, Sir Spectacles." Asta said.
Klaus released Yuno, Mora, and Asta from the hug.
"That again? After everything I said?" Klaus scolded.
"You're right. I should start calling you, Mr. Softy Specs." Asta teased.
"You truly don't know when to quit, do you? Brat." Klaus.
"Too serious is Klaus's natural state." Mimosa said with a giggle.
"Ain't that the truth." Mora concurred.
"Hey, Yuno, Mora! Let's fight!" Luck said as he raised his hand up in the air and then approached Yuno and Mora. "You want to? Spar with me, please."
"I'll pass." Yuno said.
"Same." Mora agreed.
"What about you two?" Luck asked as he turned his head to Ares and Athena.
"Sure." Ares said with a grin. "I'm down."
"Seriously, Ares?" Athena sweatdropped.
Asta then looked at Noelle.
"Noelle." Asta called. "Looks like I'm not the only one with torn clothes."
Noelle looked confused. When she looked down, she saw that her torn blouse exposed her breasts. In realization, she screamed and quickly covered up her breasts as Klaus shot out blood from his nose. Noelle ran over to Asta and jumped to step on him, causing Asta to fall on his back with a groan.
"Whoops! He's dead." Luck said.
"Are you ok?" Mimosa asked as she ran over to Asta.
"Oh, no! What did I do?" Noelle gasped.
"You killed him, that's what!" Mora snapped.
Noelle hopped off and knelt towards Asta as Mimosa bent down towards Asta. Yuno, Mora, Klaus, and Luck stepped forward towards them. Klaus covered his bloodied nose with a handkerchief. Ares quickly hid behind Mora with embarrassing blushes while Athena giggled.
Asta woke up from being slightly unconscious. Mimosa and Noelle smiled in relief, but Noelle quickly blushed with embarrassment.
"What are you looking at? Creep." Noelle said.
Noelle slapped Asta across his face. Asta yelped as he wasn't sure what he did. Noelle looked away with a scoff.
Asta then looked at Yuno and Mora, who were smiling at him. Asta returned the smile on his face.
