Chapter Four
-" Catherine is in the shower when Steve enters. Hey Cath, she can't hear him, so he goes to her bathroom and hears the shower running. He opens the door slowly and sees her in the shower; oh, how he wants to join her. He promises her he will give her time and do it right. He closes the door, enters the living room, grabs a beer, and waits for her.
-" She comes out in her sleeping clothes, which are his old seal shirt and panties. He lost for words. Uh, hi; I called, but you didn't hear me. It's okay. I was in the shower. So that is where my shirt went. I took it and a couple of your buttons down to keep you close and your scent.
-" Is that right? Well I confess I have your arrow necklace that I kept in my cargo every day and whenever I went out. Wait, even when you were with Lynn? Yes, I did. You are crazy, Steve. Yeah, crazy for you.
-" What do you want to watch? How about the Notebook? No, Cath, you know I hate that move, and he grinned. Trying to seduce me again, Rollins? No, not at all, sailor, and she smiles.
-" They sit close, and Steve puts his arm around her and watches the movie. This was his peace, and he didn't care if she watched the Notebook over and over as long as he was next to her. Catherine actually fell asleep, and he didn't wake her. She finally woke and said I guess I was tired. I am going to head to bed.
-" Where is the blanket for the sofa? She looks at him with a strange face. I am sleeping on the sofa, right? No, you can sleep in the bed with me as long as you behave. Are you sure? Yes, come on. He follows her and gets undressed, except for his boxer. Catherine looked and couldn't help but smile and try to turn her head. Steve saw her, and no need to turn your head, Cath, you know you like it. I don't know what you are talking about, Commander and she gets in under the cover.
-" He was tired, but having her next to him, he decided to forgo his usual hand to the side sleeping and pulled her close to him with his arms around her. She didn't complain because it felt so good.
-" He gets up early so he can go get his swim before going to work and run. He said I am leaving, Cath, and I will call you later. He kisses her, and she says bye, Steve.
-" He walked into work with a pep in step and whistling. Good morning, people.
-" Good morning. Tani, I must say I never heard him whistle before, and look at that smile on his face. Danny said yeah, I always said he was the best version of himself around her.
-" Danny makes a beeline to his office. What got into you? What do you mean? You whistling and all goofy face. I don't know what you are talking about, Daniel, and he laughed. I guess the two of you got into some Barry White. Danny, that's none of your business, and no, we didn't. We are taking our time to do it right. Well, I need to send her some flowers for not having to deal with a grumpy Seal all the time. Go do your work Danno. He texted Catherine good morning, and he really enjoyed sleeping in bed with her last night with a three-heart emoji. She was probably still sleeping.
-" Lynn thought she had the perfect plan; she would need to find a way to kidnap Catherine and keep her for several months and make Steve think she left her again. In that time, she will find a way to get him to take her back, even if it means drugging him to get pregnant. She knew he was an honorable man and would want to raise his child as a family, even with her. She would need help to pull this off and a place to take her that no one knew about. She remembered a guy she used to date had a house on one of the big islands. It was on about 10 acres and isolated. One road in and out. His parents purchased it as a vacation spot. He had relocated to the mainland and was taking care of his Mom. He had even called her several times to check on it for him. She would call to see if he wanted her to check on it for him.
-" How do she get Catherine? She knew where she lived, but Catherine was military, and she heard and saw some of the things she could do. She had looked up some of the news stories from when she worked with Five-O. Melissa said Danny said she was a badass soldier. She would need help. She didn't think she could trust Melissa because she probably blab to Danny. She needs to find someone to hire with no questions asked.
-" She remembers one of her friends complaining about her son hanging around with some bad boys. She said the boy was into drugs and robbing people for money. She had told him not to hang out with them anymore. So maybe in an underhand way, she could find out more about them and see if she could hire them. She picks up the phone; hey Sue, it has been a long time. How about meeting me for lunch today? You can, great, say noon, at that restaurant you like. Sounds good, see you then.
-" Catherine loved how Steve was trying to make good on his promise to treat her right this time. It is not that she ever doubted his love for her because his actions spoke louder than words. But a girl does like to be wooed every now and then.
-" Hey Cath, you want me for lunch at your favorite restaurant? What, do you have time for a real lunch? Funny and anything for my Lieutenant. I meet you there at noon. They had no way of knowing it was the same restaurant Lynn and her friend were going to.
Lynn and her friend were sitting in the back, and her back was to guests coming in. Catherine and Steve got a table near the door. Steve sat beside her instead of across from her and held her hand while waiting to order. You look beautiful, but you do every day. Thanks, Commander.
-" You having a slow day? Yes, nothing but paperwork, and I, for one, am happy about it. It felt good sleeping next to you last night. He whispered in her ear; part of me was finding it hard to resist you, and I wanted to reach over and make love to you all night. It sent chills down all over her body. He kisses her softly on her lips. Steve, we are in a restaurant. So! We never did PDA before. I know, but I think that was a mistake. It is okay to show emotion every now and then.
-" Lynn casually asks her friend if Johnny is still hanging out with those bad boys. Not that I know of, and he better not if he knows what is good for him. Are they from the neighborhood? You know my friend Jane, who lives at the end of the street? Yeah, it's her son and friends. They are into everything and will do anything for money to buy drugs. She had to bail him out of jail. That is a shame, and thank God Johnny is not hanging with them. She got the info she needed. They ordered and chatted before it was time to go.
-" Her friend left early because she had to go back to work. Lynn was waiting for the check. On her way out, she saw Steve and Catherine; her blood was boiling. She stops and says I hope your bitch doesn't leave you again. Steve was about to go off on her, and Catherine said don't, Steve, she not worth it. Lynn, you need to leave now. She could tell Steve meant it, so she huffed and left. I am sorry, Cath, you had to hear that. It's okay, and don't let it spoil our lunch, and they didn't.
-" Steve went back to work, and Danny came into his office. How was lunch? It was great until Lynn tried to start something. Wait, why was Lynn there? I don't know and don't care. How did Catherine react? She was embarrassed that Lynn called her a bitch, but you know her; she is not one to cause a scene and ask me not to go off on her and just to let it go. I did, but you know me, I want to tell her ass off. God, I hate that I never get involved with her. Lou and I both were wrong about her. I guess being hot is not an indication of being a good person. You think? I hope that the last time I see her. I hear you, man. McGarrett, okay, Duke, we will be there shortly.
-"The next day, Lynn parked down the street near Jane's house to see when the son would leave. She follows him in his car, and he goes to the park to meet us with his friends. She watches them buy drugs, and then she goes over and sits at a picnic table near them. Hello boys. Her friend's son Josh says hello, Ms. Downey; what are you doing here? Who is this babe? Ask one of the boys. She is a friend of my Mom friend Sue who lives up the street. Please don't tell Sue you saw me doing drugs. For sure, she will tell my mom. I won't, but I want to see if you boys, or should I say men, would like to earn some extra money. What do we have to do they ask with their eager faces? It has to be kept a secret between us and no one else.
-" Yeah, yeah, they nodded their head. I have this woman who is being nasty to me, and she told lies to my boyfriend to get him to break up with me. I need for you all to kidnap and take her to a place for a while. I might need you all to watch her from time to time. No harm is to come to her; I just need her to be gone for a while. Sure, we can do that. How much are you paying? Ask the one named Marvin. 1000 each when you kidnap, and if I need you to watch her, it is an extra 500. Sweet said, Bill. Now remember you can't tell a soul and no harm. If you think about double-crossing me, I recorded your drug deal and sent it to a friend who won't open it unless you try to screw me over. Got me. They were desperate for money; yeah, we are in.
-" Here is her address; I make sure she is alone; she is ex-military and law enforcement, so you probably have to drug her for her to go peaceful. Here is the address. I need your phone number to text you when it is a go. Do you think you can get your hands on something to drug her with? Yeah, I got a buddy who can get some chloroform to knock her out said, Josh. I will be texting you from a burner phone, and make sure you delete any message you get. Yeah, we got it, lady. Bill said won't she be missed. Don't worry about that; I got that part covered. Remember, this is between us; don't talk about it with any of your other friends, or you are going to jail. Lady, we got this, the three young men said, all about 25 years of age. They do anything to get money. I will be in touch and she left. She was proud of herself, and soon Catherine would be gone, and she would be with her Steve again, or so she thought.
-"Hey Cath, I want to see if you want to meet me at the furniture store in an hour. For what? Remember, I told you I would replace everything in the bedroom except the dresser. Yeah, I forgot. Yes, I can. I text you the location. See you soon, sailor.
-"I am heading out to lunch he said to the Team. You want some company ask Junior. Sorry, I am meeting Catherine. Danny said Super Seal, sitting in a tree, G, and everyone laughed. Really funny Danno and he left.
-"He meets Catherine at the store. Hey Cath, and he kisses her. They walk in Man, there is a lot to choose from. Let's do this because I can't wait for you to come back home. A salesperson came over and just smiled at Steve, trying to be all cute. He grabbed Catherine's hand and said we need a new bedroom set. What size? They both said King and smiled. Let's look over here, and they both saw something. It was a bed with a headboard in navy blue with anchors and a nightstand to match. They tried out the mattress, and it was perfect. What do you think? Ask Steve. I love it. We need to get curtains and bedding to match. Yea, there is a store next door we can get it from. We will take this one? How long before you can deliver? It takes a week. Come this way, and I ring it up for you. The salesperson said low to Catherine, Honey, you are one lucky lady to get to sleep in the bed with him and winked Yes, I am. They paid for the bed and went to the store next door to pick out the curtains and bedding.
-"Steve was out of his league, so he told Catherine anything she picked was fine with him. She found what she wanted. Steve whispered, "Just so you know, I can't wait to get you in the bed," and he kissed her. She knew she wanted him, but they needed to wait a little longer.
-"Steve went back to work. How was lunch? Well, I didn't eat, and everyone laughed. Get your mind out of the gutter. Catherine & I went shopping for our new bedroom set for the house. What did you make here to pay for it? No, Daniel, I didn't. He was going to ask why but didn't because he had a good feeling he knew the reason. Any case, nothing yet. I am sure all of you have paperwork to do, so get to it.
-"Lynn, call Melissa; I need a favor, and remember you owe me. What is it? I need you to get Danny to invite Steve over without it being suspicious. He can't bring Catherine, and it has to be late. What going on? Never mind about that, you need to do it. Okay, maybe I can pick a fight with Daniel late and get him so wound up that I text Steve that he needs to come and get him under control, or I will call the cops. I might have to spike his drink with a little something. Yes, Melissa, that would be perfect. Do it tomorrow night around Ten PM. Lynn, you better not be getting me into something crazy. I am not and remember you know nothing, and it better stay that way.
-"Steve was at Catherine watching a movie, and his phone rang. He saw it was Melissa and wondered why she was calling him. Steve, you better get over here now, or I am calling the cops on Daniel. What going on? He is yelling and threatening me for no reason and out of control. He is throwing things, and he is drunk. Okay, don't call the cops. I am on my way. Cath, Danny is drunk, and he and Melissa are having a big fight, and she threatens to call the cops. I need to go over there now. Sure, and I go with you. No, he will be embarrassed with you seeing him like that. I will text you when I am on my way home, but I feel it might be late. No problem, and be careful, Steve.
