7: A Little bit Awkward at the OCCB
"Uhhh, Stabler, can you come here for a minute?" Jet sat at her desk furiously clinking different windows on her computer.
"Yeah sure," he said while scooting his desk chair back.
Whelan pushed his chair back as well, wanting to see what was going on.
"Did I ask for you Jamie?" She shot him her typical glare.
"Woah, sorry." He put both his hands up defensively. "I figured we all needed to see…" he said under his breath.
Reyes was better at minding his own business and suddenly seemed overly interested in his stack of paperwork.
Elliot jogged up the steps to Jet's computer set up. "What's up?"
"Uh," Jet began awkwardly, well, more awkwardly than usual. With a couple clicks a security video pulled up.
At first Elliot wondered why Jet needed to show him footage of a couple making out in a hallway. Then he looked closer. Shit. It was him. And Olivia. In the hallway of this building. Kissing. Like really kissing. Like his hands up the back of her shirt and her hands gripping his ass kind of kissing.
Elliot's eyes widened and he cleared his throat awkwardly. "Um. So, anyway that can go away." He tried to be cryptic so curious ears wouldn't pick up on their conversation.
"Yeah I'm on it. Future reference, there are cameras in the hallway."
"Well obviously I know that now." He covered his eyes with his hand with slight embarrassment. Liv was going to kill him. "Anyone else see this?" He eyed Ayanna in her office.
"Nah, just me. I came across it when updating our software."
"Can we keep it that way?" He asked awkwardly.
"Copy that." Jet answered.
"Thanks."
"Yep." She immediately went back to work.
Glad to have that crisis averted he sank back into his desk chair. Part of him wanted to laugh at the idea of the two of them going at it like a couple horny teenagers, but he knew Liv would have been mortified.
He pushed some papers around his desk, but his mind wandered to the events of last night.

"Come pick me up. I'm finishing one more thing. Let's grab some take out before we pick up Noah."
"Okay," her voice sounded dejected.
"Hey, you okay?"
"Yeah. Just one of those days," she sighed.
"I get that." He understood. SVU was her calling, but he knew the emotional toll it took on someone.
"Yeah," she replied, "I'll pick you up in 20 minutes. Did you download the movie he wanted to watch?"
"That new Marvel one right?" Noah had been asking for a movie night with Elliot for a couple weeks, and tonight was the first night they could make it happen. "I have it ready to go."
"Yep. K, I'll see you soon."
"Sounds good," he answered before hanging up the call.
Everyone already left for the day, but he had a couple things he needed to check in on, and another form to finish before he could check out for the day.
The research went faster than he thought it would, and had almost finished up the form as Olivia walked into the squad room.
He smiled, but she looked more morose than he'd seen in a long time.
"I'm about done." He hurriedly scribbled out a couple signatures.
She leaned against his desk, watching him finish the form.
He looked up at her, "Are you okay?"
She quickly tried to hide the tears welling up in her eyes. "Just a bad case," she stuttered out.
He stood and grasped her elbows, pulling her into a hug. "Want to tell me about it?"
She rested her head against his shoulder. "Same old story. Neglected kids getting trafficked. This one was particularly hard." He noticed her attempts to hide her rising emotion. "We found a baby among a few other trafficked kids. They were abandoned and freezing." He felt her tense up. "The baby didn't look good when we got there." She couldn't stop the tears anymore. "She didn't make it."
"Sorry Liv. That's hard."
"It's always hard, but the baby… she was the same age Noah was when I found him." She sniffled quietly and wiped the tears from her cheeks. "I'll be fine. It's just hard when the cases hit too close to home."
"I know." He rubbed her back, trying to soothe her crying. "There were times I would wake my kids up in the middle of the night, just to make sure they were okay." He leaned back to better see her face. "But it's the job," he cupped her cheek with one hand, "and you are incredible at it."
She closed her eyes and leaned into the warmth of his hand. "Thanks El."
He kissed the top of her head, and released his hold on her, "Let's pick up that boy of yours. You'll feel better after you see him."
"Okay." She smiled weakly. He gathered his things and scooped up her coat before heading to the door.
They walked out into the hallway when Olivia caught his arm spinning him towards her. She put her hand on his face and his breath caught. His heart started pounding as she put her other hand on the other side of his face and pulled his face towards hers, kissing him softly.
She pulled back just a little and he asked, "What was that for?"
Her lips nearly touched his, "I love you and I'm tired of being afraid. I want to give us a chance."
He grinned and closed the distance between their lips, pulling her close. He kissed her tenderly, not wanting to push her too hard too fast, but her mouth grew more insistent on his, more demanding. His hands crept from her hips to her lower back, pressing her hips towards his. They staggered backward until Liv's back was pressed against the wall. Her hands gripped his torso, continuing down until she grabbed his ass. Their lip play continued as he slid his hands under her shirt pressing them against the bare skin of her back. His hand slipped further up her back until his fingers found her bra clasp. He toyed with it aimlessly while continuing to kiss her senseless.
He brought her hands back down to her hips and their lips parted. He laughed softly, "I think we should get out of here."
Her eyes were still closed, trying to find her footing. "Yeah," she agreed. "Home?"
"Home." He agreed, knowing that if he was with her, he'd always be home.
