Hey Everyone. Welcome to fanfiction series, Sky High My Stretchy Step Brother. The series about the two step brothers, Lash Lombardi-Suzomoto with the superpower of Elasticity and the oc, Embrick Suzomoto-Lombardi, based on me, with the superpowers of Invisibility and Sad Manipulation. Lash is based on the same character with the same name from Sky High film. I gave him a last name and he's Italian instead of American, but his physical appearance remained the same. The main protagonist from the film, Will Stronghold, won't be in the series. So, enjoy the first episode!

The brunet stumbled his way through the halls, a bit off. Lash was never one to be late to school, as he never aimed to miss hanging out with Speed or dunking other kids' heads in the toilets, but he'd slept through his alarm.

He stuffed his things lazily in his locker, few papers slipping out, he apathetically closed the squeaky door. Mildly annoyed that he'd missed his morning free time on the third day of school, he didn't mind the mess.

He then spotted you, smirking,

"Well, hello."

I turned around and saw my older step brother, Lash Lombardi-Suzomoto. I'm Embrick Suzomoto-Lombardi, Lash's younger step brother. Lash's Italian who just turned 17 and I'm Japanese who turned 12 and I skipped a few grades. Lash's a junior and I'm a freshmen. Lash has elastic superpowers while mine are invisibility and depression manipulation. Lash's dad marries my mom. Lash's mom passed away while my dad's a supervillain who's been in prison for a very, long time. He enjoys bullying people in school with his friend Speed who has superspeed. Lash doesn't like me, although sometimes he tries to love me as my real brother.

...hi...

Lash crossed his arms, leaning against the locker as he eyed Embrick, seeming to size him up. He tilted his head to the side, a smirk playing on his lips as he took him in. He seemed to mull over something before finally speaking.

Lash: Hey... didn't think you'd be in this hallway. You have some boring class around here?

Embrick: Yes...

Lash: Bummer. Must suck to be a nerd.

Embrick: sigh Yeah...

Lash chuckled again, finding him quite funny to tease. Lash was in a pretty good mood today, and he wanted to have some fun with the younger kid. He reached out, nudging his shoulder with his long, thin fingers.

Lash: What class 'ya got 'anyways?

Embrick: sigh Science...

Lash: Science, huh? He hummed, shoving his hands in his pockets, his smirk widening. He tilted his head, eyeing Embrick with a mix of curiosity and teasing. And who's your teacher this year?

Embrick: Mr. Medulla...

Lash's expression darkened, a flicker of anger crossing his face. Mr. Medulla, a science teacher known for being strict and boring. He let out a deep breath, almost a low hiss.

Lash: Ugh, Medulla. Worst science teacher ever.

Embrick: still stares at him in a blank expression Really?

Lash: rolling his eyes Yeah, the worst. Nobody likes him, he makes class so damn boring... and he's the biggest stick in the mud ever. He's a total party pooper. Bet you don't mind that old boring fart.

Embrick: speaks nervously and feels uncomfortable I-I...don't mind...at all...

Lash: Yeah, sure. Do you like him or something?

Embrick: sighs I guess not...

Lash: laughs Right? He got the personality of a wet rock. He's so boring!

Embrick: Yeah...

Lash: Well, you always like biology and other kinds of science anyway. So what's your big deal? Why'd you skip two grades? You're too young to be in high school.

Embrick: Well...because...I'm smart...

Lash: snickered Really now? You, smart? Can't honestly say I buy that, genius level intellect for a twelve year old freshmen? Unlikely.

Embrick opened his schoolbag and gives Lash his lunch. It was a surprise for him.

Embrick: sighs Look, I...have to go. My mom...made this lunch...for you. It was a surprise for you.

He was a little surprised by his gesture, his expression softening a bit. Lash took the bag of food from him and eyed it for a moment. He actually kinda felt bad for teasing him.

Lash: Oh... thanks, I guess.

He grumbled, looking anywhere but his step brother.

Embrick: B-Bye... Embrick left the corridor and went to his first period class.

Lash watched Embrick go, the teasing smile gone from his face. He suddenly felt a pang of guilt in his chest, a rare occurrence. But as soon as Embrick were out of sight, he quickly shook himself out of it.

"Weird nerd..."

He muttered under his breath, before going to the homeroom with the lunch clutched in his hand.

After the first period, Embrick was in Coach Boomer's class for the second period. Many students were chatting or playing sports. He sat on the bleacher very far away. He saw his step brother Lash spot me on the bleacher far away from other students.

Lash, who was paired with Speed for the lesson, was busy making his way towards the gym. But then he noticed you, sitting all alone. He quickly left his friend behind.

He walked over, sitting down next to you with a scoff, eyeing you with some interest. Why were you sitting apart from everyone?

Then Coach Boomer announced the students for the power placement, to show the students their superpowers. After 6 students doing their power placement, it's Embrick's turn. He walk over, emotionless, but still sad. He showed them his superpower, invisibility. He turned invisible in front of the students. They seemed impressed, including the coach and Lash. But, some of them think it's a joke, including Speed and Lash too. Embrick turned uninvisible and went back to my seat.

Lash couldn't help but be impressed as he watched you. He'd never seen your powers in action before. As your invisibility disappeared, he let out a low whistle.

Lash: Damn, I didn't know you had that. Why've you never put it on display before? Pretty damn cool, if I say so myself.

Speed chuckled behind him, clearly not as impressed as Lash was.

Speed: Yeah, although his "disappear" power is too old.

Lash: Yeah, it's a bit lame. But I mean, can you control how long you're invisible? Or is it on a timer?

Speed: If we had invisible powers, we can prank on losers and the teachers!

Lash: grinning from his best friend's idea Yeah, exactly! I bet we could play some awesome pranks. Like I could stretch around a corner and you could speed by and grab someone's chair, it would be awesome! Oh, or we could put something in the gym roof and have it drop! And nobody would have time to move because we're just so damn fast!

Speed: That's even better!

Lash and Speed laughs.

Lash: Hell yeah, it is! And they wouldn't even think it was us, we'd be able to get away with so much stuff!

After the second period, Embrick's in history class for the third period. Lash reveals to take the same class as his. Although Speed's in a different class, Lash decides to sit next to his step brother.

Lash sat down in the desk next to you, leaning back lazily in his seat. He eyed you with a smirk and ruffled your hair a bit with his hand.

Lash: Two classes in a row now, huh? You're stalking me, nerd.

Embrick: Sigh No. But...are...you?

He laughed at that, amused.

Lash: Why 'n the world would I be stalkin' you? I ain't interested in you, nerd."

He said it like an insult, but his gaze lingered on you for a second longer than it should have.

Embrick sighs.

Lash smirked, leaning back in his chair again. He raised an eyebrow at your sigh.

Lash: You always this silent or d'ya just hate my guts?"

Embrick: I guess...

He rolled his eyes, scoffing.

Lash: Hatin' my guts? Good, I don't like you either.

He said it with false malice, but part of him felt a pang of hurt at that. Did you really hate him? Embrick sighs as he turns invisible. Lash's eyebrows raised in surprise as you suddenly disappeared from sight. He sat up in his seat, looking around and behind the chairs in front of him with mild confusion.

Lash: H-huh, what-

He then smirked, raising an eyebrow.

Lash: Oh, real funny, dork. Are you gonna keep being invisible the whole class?"

Lash let out an exaggerated sigh, rolling his eyes. He looked back at him, or where he would be sitting.

Lash: Real mature, genius, sitting there pretending to not be there as if I can't tell you're still here.

Lash's eyes went wide as his hand passed into thin air. He yanked it back and stared in stunned disbelief.

Lash: What the- you actually disappeared for real?!

I uninvisible, sitting with another student. Lash whips his head around at your reappearance, almost falling out of his chair in the process. He watched as you sat a few seats away, completely baffled.

Lash: Wha- how- you-

He stutters in surprise, trying to wrap his mind around what just happened. Embrick avoids eye contact with him with a worried, shaky look Lash's eyes widen as he sees the expression on your face, immediately sitting up straight in his seat as he watches you worriedly.

"Hey, nerd…what's…what's wrong?"

He asks, and it's probably the most genuinely concerned he's been in a long time. I ignored him as history class start. Lash sits back in his seat, trying to focus on the lesson but unable to. He keeps glancing over at you to make sure you're okay. Which was weird for him, normally he didn't care about you or how you were doing. But the look on your face stuck in his mind for the whole period, making him feel bad for some reason.

While we were taking notes for today, I had no choice. I went invisible again and went back to the same seat with Lash as I reappeared on the side. When you reappeared, Lash was still keeping an eye on you. He quickly turned to look at you as you sat back down, a surprised look crossing his face.

"There you are, nerd…"

He said softly, almost as if he was glad to see you. There was a hint of relief in his voice. I sighed as we continued taking notes, ignoring each other, thinking and regretting letting our parents marry each other. Lash continued taking notes, although his thoughts were elsewhere. He kept sneaking glances over at you, noticing the distant look on your face. He wanted to say something, but he wasn't sure what. So he just tried to focus on the lesson, but his mind kept drifting. He couldn't help but think about how weird their family relationship was. He didn't like thinking about it. It made him uncomfortable. But he couldn't get it out of his mind.

After the third period, I'm in English class with Lash who has the same class as mine, really getting annoyed. I sat in my seat with him again, avoiding eye contact with him. Then, two popular girls came to me and asked me, but I didn't respond to them.

Girl 1: Hey, kid. Are you a little too young to be in high school? Laughs

Embrick: ...

Girl 1: Uh...

Girl 2: So what's your superpower? Creating crayons?

Embrick: ...

Girl 2: Huh?

Girl 1: He's creepy...let's just go...

Girl 2: Yeah...

Lash watched as the two girls approached you, a scoff escaping his mouth. He'd never had a problem with them, but he already didn't like how they were talking to you. He sat back in his seat, watching the interaction with mild interest. When the girls started mocking and teasing you, he rolled his eyes.

Lash: Tch, what bitches…

He muttered under his breath. Lash shakes his head in disbelief, still watching as the girls leave. When the coast is clear, he turns his attention back to you.

Lash: You just gonna sit there not sayin' anything to people who talk to you? How'd you even get into high school with that attitude?

He grumbled, scoffing at your blank facial expression.

Embrick: Mm.

Lash rolls his eyes, annoyed by your lack of response. He leans back slightly in his seat, watching you closely. The look on your face was starting to look more and more unsettling to him.

Lash: I don't get you, nerd. Why do you just sit around not talkin' to people? You're makin' yourself look like a total weirdo…"

Embrick: Mm.

Lash's annoyance grows, and he scoffs again. He crosses his arms in front of his chest, his gaze darkening.

Lash: Damn it, can't you say something else other than 'Mm' or just sit in silence? I don't get why you're like this all the time. It's annoying, like just talk to me for once."

Embrick: Mm.

Lash's frustration reaches its peak, and he slams his fist on his desk, causing you to slightly jump.

Lash: Damn it, can you just say something, anything?! You're drivin' me crazy here.

He snaps at you, his voice rising. He'd had enough of your silent treatment. I stares at him in a very dark, blank look. Lash was caught off-guard by the look you were giving him. He'd never seen you look so emotionless before. It made his stomach slightly twist in a strange way.

Lash: What's that look for?

He asked, trying to sound annoyed but there was a hint of hesitation in his voice. Embrick grab his wrist, weirdly give him a very depressed state and Lash begin crying. Lash is completely taken by surprise, his eyes widening as you grabbed his wrist. He stares at you in shock as you suddenly become very sad. A strange feeling washes over him, bringing tears to his eyes in an instant.

Lash: I- wait, what- what's happening? He chokes out, his voice cracking as the tears start falling from his eyes. Lash feels a pang in his chest as he looks at you. He tries to wipe the tears from his eyes, but they keep falling.

Lash: S-stop- what's- why-" He stutters, his voice barely above a whisper. The emotions coursing through him are overwhelming and strange, and he doesn't know what to do.

Students saw me doing something to Lash. I let go of his wrist, makes him stop crying as I grabbed the lesson book and read.

Lash falls back into his seat, still trying to process what just happened. The feeling of suddenly crying out of nowhere was still lingering in his chest, although thankfully the tears had stopped.

He looked around the class at the other students. Some were whispering amongst themselves and giving him strange looks. He felt embarrassed and confused. What had you done to him?

After the fourth period, it's lunch time. Everyone in the cafeteria eats and chats. I sat alone eating Italian cuisine that my stepdad made this for me.

Lash entered the cafeteria with his lunch that my mom made for him, looking out at the sea of chattering students. He quickly spots you sitting alone and makes his way over, seating himself right across from you.

Lash: Hey.

He greeted you with a neutral tone, starting to dig into his food. Lash sits next to me. He opens his lunch and it's Japanese cuisine that my mom made for him. He notices I had Italian cuisine that his dad made for me. Lash notices the different dishes both of your parents had packed for you, and he couldn't help but notice the irony of the situation.

Lash: Heh, we got lunch from each other's parents.

He mutters, before taking a bite of some sushi.

Embrick: Yeah...

Lash glances at you, studying your expression. You're still looking as blank and emotionless as usual. He takes another bite of sushi, the events from earlier still on his mind. He debates with himself on whether he should bring it up or not, but he eventually gives in to his curiosity.

Lash: Hey, uh…can I ask you somethin'?

Embrick: sigh Yes...

Lash takes a moment to think of the right way to ask his question, fiddling with a piece of sushi in his hand.

Lash: Earlier…when in English…you touched my wrist and I suddenly got really emotional out of nowhere…what was that?"

Embrick: Sad Manipulation.

Lash raises an eyebrow in surprise, processing your words. Sad Manipulation…he'd never heard of that power before.

Lash: Sad Manipulation…it's exactly what it sounds like, huh? You can basically make anyone feel like crying just by touchin' them?

Embrick: Yeah...

Lash lets out a low whistle, staring at you in disbelief.

Lash: Damn, that's one helluva power. It's kinda creepy though, isn't it?.. No wonder nobody talks to you. You can probably make them cry with a single touch."

Embrick: Yeah...

Then Speed came and sat next to Lash.

Speed: Sup, Lash.

Lash looks over as Speed takes a seat next to him.

Lash: Hey, Speed."

He greets him with a half-smile. He glances at you for a moment before turning his attention back to his best friend.

Speed: Oh hey, that's the pet eating Jap you mentioned.

I was shocked that Speed said the racial slur to me and Lash, who laughs, was revealed to say that racial slur to me.

Lash chuckled in response to Speed, not noticing your reaction at first. When he does, his smile fades slightly, but he quickly brushes it off. He glances at you quickly, noticing your shocked expression.

Lash: Yeah, that's him.

He says casually, avoiding your gaze as a pang of guilt washes over him. He'd definitely heard Speed say that slur a few times when talking about you, but he tried to ignore it. Snapped, I grabbed Speed's wrists, makes him sad and cries.

Lash's eyes widen in surprise as Speed suddenly begins tearing up out of nowhere.

Lash: Wha- what the hell- He stammers out, staring at his friend in disbelief. He hadn't ever seen Speed cry before, and the sudden shift in emotion was jarring.

I keep holding Speed's wrists in anger, makes him cry even more, and gets everyone in the cafeteria's attention. Lash can't help but feel guilty as he watches his best friend crying so hard. He turns to you, looking at you with pleading eyes.

Lash: Hey, come on, stop. Let him go. You're gonna make him have a mental breakdown at this rate.

He says urgently, trying to get you to stop. The other students are watching intently, whispering amongst themselves and giving the two of you strange looks. Lash's anger boils over, and he glares at you with a sharp glare.

Lash: The hell is your problem?! Why'd you make him cry like that?! He didn't even say anything to you!

He snaps, his voice rising in volume. Some students nearby glance over at the two of you, eavesdropping on the argument. I was shocked and angry at Lash, who accused me of attacking him for no reason. I grabbed my lunch and angrily stormed off, muttering at Lash in racial Italian slur like what he and Speed said to me.

Embrick: You and your dad should go back to Italy, you goombah-ginzo.

Lash's eyes widen in disbelief as you utter the slur at him. Anger flares in him, along with a hint of embarrassment and guilt. He looks around at the other students, who are listening intently to the argument. Many of then share surprised and confused expressions at the Italian insult.

Lash: Hey! Watch it!

He growls in a low, warning tone. He takes a step towards you, hands clenched into fists.

After three more periods, school ends today. Lash was waiting for me at the school entrance since we have no choice to walk home together as we now live together as I left the entrance. Lash leaned against the wall outside of the school, tapping his foot impatiently. He had been standing at the entrance for a good fifteen minutes by now, waiting for you to exit. He hadn't been able to stop thinking about the argument at lunchtime, and he'd been growing increasingly annoyed the longer he waited.

Lash: Come on…where the hell is he?

He mutters under his breath, glancing at the school doors every few seconds. Lash straightens up as he sees you finally come out the doors. He crosses his arms and glares at you, his annoyance obvious.

Lash: Took you long enough…"

He grumbles, already irritated. Lash rolls his eyes at your sigh, falling into step beside you as the two of you begin walking.

Lash: The hell is your problem, anyway?

He asks, his voice still laced with anger. He glances at you, eyebrows furrowed as he waits for a response.

Embrick: ...

Lash huffs in annoyance, shaking his head slightly.

Lash: Damnit, can you just say something?! Why'd you do that earlier?

He snaps, his irritation growing at your silence. He glances at you again, trying to gauge your expression.

Embrick: ...

Lash let out an exasperated sigh, frustrated at your lack of response. He stops walking and turns to face you fully, blocking your path. He stares at you with an intense gaze.

Lash: Seriously, just say something. Stop with the silence thing, it's pissing me off.

Embrick tries walking around him. As he tries to walk around him, Lash quickly grabs his younger step brother's wrist, stopping him.

Lash: Hey, I'm not done talking.

He says sternly, keeping a firm grip on your wrist. He locks eyes with you, not planning on letting you go without an explanation. I tried to make him release my wrist. Lash tightens his grip, refusing to let go.

Lash: Stop trying to get away and give me a straight answer, damn it.

He snaps, still holding Embrick's wrist. He's fed up with his step brother's silence and wants some kind of explanation for earlier.

Embrick: fed up You're a racist.

Lash's eyes widen in surprise and anger at your accusation. He lets go of your wrist and scoffs, taking a step back.

Lash: What? I'm not a racist.

He denies, although he feels a pang of guilt in the pit of his stomach.

Lash: You and your friend call me pet eating Jap.

Lash's face reddens slightly, both with anger and embarrassment. He looks away, not meeting your gaze for a moment.

Lash: Th-that was just a joke. You know that, don't you?

He mutters, trying to cover up his guilt.

Embrick: That's racial slur, idiot.

Lash flinches inwardly at your comment, but tries to stay defiant.

Lash: I know that, I'm not an idiot…It was still just a joke, anyway. You shouldn't have been so sensitive about it.

Embrick: So you want me to laugh from that fucking joke, huh?

Lash shrugs, looking away again.

Lash: I don't care if you find it funny or not. It's just a joke, it's not serious. You don't have to take it so seriously.

He responds, although he can hear the defensiveness in his own voice. He knows what he did was wrong, but he doesn't want to admit it.

Embrick: Well, what about I called you goombah-ginzo from earlier? Is that a joke?

Lash looks back at you, his expression darkening at the memory of your insult. He clenches his fists at his sides.

Lash: That's…that's completely different.

He says through gritted teeth, clearly not liking that you used his nationality in the insult.

Embrick: Different, huh?

Lash rolls his eyes, clearly getting more annoyed at your accusations.

Lash: I'm not a racist! What makes you think I'm a racist? You're the one who actually used a slur on me.

He retorts, growing more defensive.

Embrick: You used a slur with your friend behind my back.

Lash groans in frustration, running a hand through his hair. He's not used to being called out on his behavior.

Lash: That was just a joke, like I said. A stupid joke, alright? I don't actually hate you or anything…It's not that serious.

He responds, struggling to come up with an excuse for his actions. Deep down, he's realizing that he doesn't really have a good defense.

Embrick: I don't know why my mom married your dad in the first place.

Lash bristles at your comment, feeling defensive about his family situation.

Lash: Hey, don't bring up my dad into this, alright?

He snaps, crossing his arms in front of him. He's starting to get fed up with the accusations you're making against him.

Embrick: groans Whatever. Just move or I'll make you cry again.

Lash growls in frustration, not budging from his spot. He's not about to let you walk all over him like that.

Lash: You know what? Go ahead. Make me cry. I doubt you can.

Lash challenges him, his anger overriding his better judgment. Embrick grabbed his older step brother's wrist and made Lash cry again, making him regret. Lash tries to fight against the overwhelming sadness that washes over him, but it's no use, tears start welling up in his eyes and he starts sobbing loudly against his will.

Lash: D-dammit...

He muttered, trying to wipe away the tears, but they kept coming. I let go of his wrist, makes him stop crying.

Embrick: You should've moved.

Embrick walked past him. Lash angrily growls at me like a wolf as he gets up and walks behind me, deciding to not talk to me. Lash angrily wipes his face, trying to compose himself and regain some of his dignity. He follows behind you, his hands clenching into fists as he does his best to hold back his anger. He's furious at you for using your power on him and reducing him to tears, but at the same time, he's starting to realize the full extent of his own racism. He silently walks behind you, wrestling with his feelings and struggling to reconcile his actions with his conscience.

Episode 1 ends.
