Hello everyone. Welcome to the second chapter of the Ruin DLC Arc. Lash fell into the water by the feral Monty. Is he okay? Let's find out! :)
Lash manages to pull himself up out of the water, gasping and coughing for air. He's completely soaked through, his clothes sticking to his body uncomfortably. As he takes a moment to catch his breath, he takes in his surroundings and realizes he's now in the ruined Monty's Gator continues to crawl through the numerous crawl spaces within the indoor golf course, his senses on high alert for any new surprises. Suddenly, as he moves forward, he's jumpscared by Mask Bot, who pops up with a cheerful "Hi." the robot robotically repeating "Free Mask. Take A Mask. Take A Mask."
Lash grabbed the mask from its hand.
Mask Bot: Thank you. Please enjoy.
He examines the mask, noticing that it's not a Bonnie mask as he might have expected. Turning it over, he sees various wires and pieces of advanced technology on the backside. With Mask Bot deactivated, Lash stands there alone in the dimly lit golf course, still holding the mask in his hand. He looks around, checking to make sure no other surprises are waiting to jump out at him.
As Lash puts on the rabbit mask, the world around him suddenly shifts. Everything around him now appears bathed in a hazy, purple light. The once familiar surroundings are now dotted with glitchy, digital-like textures, and large, dark areas obscure parts of the environment, with some objects appearing invisible.
Then, the small AI purple bear with coveralls and Faz Wrench pops in front of him:
Bear: Welcome to V.A.N.N.I., the Virtual Augmented Neural Network Integration unit. Do not be surprised by your surroundings. You are still in the real world, but Fazbear Entertainment has made it better. With this Security Mask, you can locate and repair all the pesky security nodes that are locking down the mesh network here in the Mega Pizzaplex. Call me Helpi. You can always count on me because it's my job to help you succeed in your new job.
Helpi disappears.
Lash blinks in surprise as the small purple AI figure in coveralls and holding a Faz Wrench suddenly materializes in front of him. The little bear introduces itself as Helpi and explains the situation: Lash is still in the real world, but the Virtual Augmented Neural Network Integration (V.A.N.N.I.) system has altered his surroundings. Helpi instructs Lash to use the Security Mask to locate and fix the security nodes, promising to be his constant helper during the task.
Lash peels off the Security Mask, but to his surprise, Helpi appears again. The AI bear greets him with a cheerful "Hello, real world." Lash can't help but feel a bit stunned, wondering how Helpi is suddenly visible without the mask. Perhaps the V.A.N.N.I. system is more sophisticated than he initially thought.
Helpi: Lucky for you, when we meet when you put on the Security Mask, the transponder implant in the mask allows me to communicate wirelessly even when your mask is removed. Just another Faz-mazing benefit of being a Class V Technician. Of course, you will have to put your mask back on to get any REAL work done.
Helpi disappears again. Lash can't hide his surprise as Helpi reappears and begins another monologue. This time, the AI bear explains that an implant in the Security Mask allows it to communicate with Lash even when the mask is not on. As Helpi talks about the benefits of being a Class V Technician, Lash can't help but feel a mixture of intrigue and unease. With another quick goodbye, Helpi vanishes once more, leaving Lash alone in the AR-filled golf course, contemplating the strange powers of this Fazbear Entertainment system.
As Lash makes his way through the restroom area, he spots a door blocked by caution tape, which prevents him from moving forward. Undeterred, he decides to try using the Security Mask. As he puts it on, the door glitches out, becoming a solid, digital texture. Despite its new appearance, Lash can now walk right through it, thanks to the mask's powers.
Lash continues onward through the restrooms, glad to have left the women's room behind. As he enters the men's room, he can't help but feel a bit more at ease. At least there are no girls around. He takes a moment to assess his surroundings, grateful for a bit of peace.
As Lash moves further into Monty's Gator Golf, he spots a computer contraption in the distance. Curiosity piqued, he approaches it, trying to figure out what its purpose might be.
While taking his Security Mask off, Helpi pops in front of him
Helpi: This is a Fazbear Technician remote camera station. Lucky for you, it is already deployed and has an active power supply.
Helpi vanishes once more, leaving Lash alone with the station and a new piece of information to ponder. While Lash continues exploring, Embrick called Lash from Foxy-Talkie.
Embrick: Don't stop looking for me! I need your help!
Lash is about to continue searching the area when his Foxy-Talkie suddenly crackles to life, your voice coming through, pleading for his help.
Lash: "I won't stop searching, I promise! I'm coming for you! Where are you?"
Embrick: Lash, if you can hear me, turn off all security. Turn it all off!
Lash's eyes widen as he hears your voice pleading over the talkie, requesting for him to turn off all the security.
Lash: "Wait, what do you mean? What security am I supposed to turn off exactly?"
Embrick: Security nodes! Find them and turn them all off! I can't get out until that happens!
I stopped responding from Foxy-Talkie. Lash grips the Foxy-Talkie tightly as he processes your urgent plea. Security nodes... he's heard of them before from Helpi. He's got to find these nodes and disable them to free you.
Lash: "Alright, I'll find the security nodes and turn them off. Just hold on for a little longer, I'm coming!"
As Lash surveys the door, he notices it's crackling with electricity, suggesting that something is powering it. He looks around, searching for a clue or a sign of the security node controlling the door.
Helpi appears in front of him.
Helpi: That door is an "emergency lockdown" mode. Check the AR world for active security nodes. Deactivate those nasty nodes and the door should open right up!
Lash startles a bit as Helpi appears once more, this time explaining that the door is in "emergency lockdown" mode and controlled by security nodes. He nods, his mind racing with determination.
Lash: "Right. I need to look for the nodes in the AR world and disable them. Got it."
As Lash dons the Security Mask, a faint white glitch catches his eye, floating in the air. He follows it, his gaze leading him to a strange red, cubic avatar head - shaped like a rabbit - composed of digital glances at his Faz Wrench, noting the instructions on the device. First, he needs to deactivate the child nodes and then the parent node. He scans the area, looking for any sign of the node. The Faz Wrench indicates there's only one node in the Gator Golf, making his task a little easier.
Lash easily locates the child node, hiding in the form of a barrel. He deactivates it with a flick of his Faz Wrench. Then, he finds the parent node and steps into the AR Security Network once more. Initially, he struggles with connecting the matching holograms, but after a few tries, he finally matches them successfully. The first security node is now breached.
With the first security node breached, the forklift behind it suddenly roars to life, its lift rising into the air. Lash seizes the opportunity, climbing onto the raised platform and heading continues exploring and crawls through the wooded tunnels and reaches another security node and a remote camera system. Then Helpi appears.
Helpi: Alert. I'm picking up an anonymous entity in the V.A.N.N.I network. Please ask the entity to leave the area immediately. If that doesn't work, it is best to exit AR Mode and contact our support line.
Lash listens to Helpi's warning, confused by the mention of an entity. Before he can even respond, Helpi vanishes, leaving him alone to figure out what it all turns his attention to the second parent node, noting that he only needs to deactivate two child nodes. He easily locates the first child node, which appears as a giant Monty cut-out. After deactivating it, he spots a nearby Wet Floor Bot. Deciding not to take any chances, he deactivates it as well.
Lash is about to continue deactivating the child nodes when suddenly, a horrifying entity materializes in front of him. He leaps back in surprise, heart racing from the sudden jumpscare. The entity appears as a blue rabbit-like creature, its body covered in glitching, slender arms and a lengthy tail instead of legs. Its face is a terrifying blend of human and rabbit features, with square-shaped eyeholes and long, slender snout.
Lash's eyes widen as he takes in the bizarre figure before him.
Then, Embrick calls Lash from Foxy-Talkie.
Embrick: Lash! Stay away from that thing. It's sending out some sort of distress signal and Monty is responding.
Lash jumps as your voice crackles through the Foxy-Talkie, sounding urgent and panicked.
Lash: "Stay away? What thing?"
He gazes back at the blue rabbit-like entity, realizing that it must be sending out a distress signal. Lash's heart sinks as he hears Embrick's warning about Monty responding to it.
Lash swiftly deactivates the second child node, shaped like another barrel. As he breaches the second security node, he quickly removes the Security Mask to avoid any interaction with the strange entity. The AR world around him returns to normal, but the memory of that eerie blue rabbit creature lingers in his mind.
Lash makes quick work of locating the three child nodes in the gift shop – a barrel, a plush of Glamrock Chica, and a broom. With each node deactivated and the third security node breached, he checks the camera system and notices the electrified door is no longer a barrier.
Just when he's about to crawl through the next wooded tunnel, Monty appears out of nowhere, ready to attack. However, the golf slide blocks Monty when he crashes against the tunnel. Lash takes in Monty's appearance, noting his damaged state and his bare endoskeleton, but still sporting his signature red mohawk.
Then Embrick called Lash from Foxy-Talkie again.
Embrick: I figured it out. That signal was leading Monty to your location. You got out of there just in time. If you see it again, keep your distance. The Gator Grub door is open. You should be able to find a path to the Daycare through the security office.
Lash jumps at the sound of your voice through the Foxy-Talkie again.
Lash: "I knew it! That signal was calling Monty to me. I just barely got away before he showed up"
After a moment's pause, Lash continues.
Lash: "The Gator Grub door is open, you said? Sounds like a way to reach the Daycare. I'll head over to the security office and search for a path from there."
Embrick: Okay, Lash.
Embrick hung up as Lash went to the door that leads to the Gator Grub. While he's in there, he went to hallway, filled with palettes, boxes of ballpit balls and crates, that leads to the security office. While he was exploring, the door, boarded with wood, banged behind him, believes that it was Monty by the boarded door. Lash quickly ran to the security door that locked with conduit as he used the Faz Wrench to open it. As he got inside the security office, he put on the Security Mask and saw the security node in front of him. This node needs 2 child nodes to deactivate. He easily found the one in the form of a cable and a form of a pizza. After that, Lash breached the fourth security node as the other security door opened for him.
Lash exits the security room and spots Monty attempting to force the gate open in an attempt to reach him. Deciding not to risk confrontation, Lash moves quickly towards the loading and storage room, eager to put some distance between them.
Lash approaches the fifth security node, which requires two child nodes to deactivate. He promptly locates the first child node – a Nightmarionne plush – and deactivates it. He continues searching and finds the second child node in the form of a box. With both nodes deactivated, the door in front of Lash now opens, so he proceeds further into the area. Lash reaches the end of the storage room, finding himself at a dead end. The space is quiet and empty, save for some miscellaneous boxes and equipment scattered around. Helpi appears.
Helpi: Do not despair. This is no dead end. Sometimes, all you need is a new perspective. Check the camera station.
Lash looks around the area, confused by Helpi's cryptic message. A new perspective? How can that help at a literal dead end? He scans the area looking for signs of a camera station, but comes up empty.
Helpi: This camera station doesn't seem to be active, however, I am detecting an unusual signal. Put on a mask and try again.
Helpi disappears as Lash sighs and puts on the Security Mask once more, adjusting to the shift to the AR world. Suddenly, to his surprise, the camera station pops into view within the AR environment.
Lash peers into the security cameras, noticing that Monty's head is highlighted as the object of interest. He quickly glances at the other cameras, and the anomaly in the system is detected. The big screen vanishes as Lash spots an entrance to the Superstar Daycare. Astonished, he shakes his head at first, incredulous that the day care could be real. Lash went to the destroyed Superstar Daycare as he took the mask off.
