Ok since today is Ariana Grande's birthday, I just thought it would be fitting to post about the made up holiday Cat came up which she called "Yay Day!" During an episode of "Sam & Cat" and for those of you who need a reminder and have no idea what the event is about, it's basically just an excuse Cat came up with for people to give presents to each other.
Honestly I didn't want to write a chapter about Cat's birthday since the saga is about Jade and Tori and their holiday shenanigans but since "Yay Day' exists in the "Sam & Cat" canon then by extension it's also a part of the "Victorious" canon since they share a universe.
So, nothing much to say other than enjoy the silliness bellow.
"Come on, Jadey, what do you say?"
"No Cat!"
"Come on!"
"NO!"
"Come on!"
'NO!"
"Come on!"
"Ugh... If I say yes, then will you stop being an annoying little pest and leave me alone?!" Jade asked irritated.
"Uh-huh!" Cat nodded enthusiastically on the video call.
"Ugh... Fine!"
"YAY!" The former redhead cheered victoriously. "Now tthat Jadey's in, Tori will fall like a domino!"
"Cat, you know I can see and hear you, right?" Jade asked unamused by her friend's lack of subtlety.
"Uh... No you can't!" Cat said trying to lie and failing in the process. "This is a dream! You're dreaming! Ooooo!"
"Cat!" The Thespian hissed annoyed "I'm not dreaming, if I was, Tori would be naked on the couch giving me a happy ending while your head explodes into a million pieces!"
"Ah!" The petite woman groaned "Those are two mental images I didn't need Jadey!"
"Sucks to be you then!" The Thespian quipped. "Now do us both a favor and let's end this conversation before I change my mind and decide to cancel on this stupidity that is your plan for tomorrow!"
Cat gasped in horror by that comment.
"Ok, Jadey, good night!"
The call then ended.
"If I had done that from the very beginning I would have saved myself several migraines." She said tiredly. "I am so not looking forward to tomorrow."
"Why? What's happening tomorrow?"
The former Goth jumped from the couch in surprise, not having expected her wife to be nearby.
"Holy crap Vega!" Jade said. "I should really put a bell around your neck so I can hear you coming!"
"But then I wouldn't be able to see your face when I surprise you with my presence." Tori snickered. "It's always funny to see you when I caught you by surprise, it happens so rarely that when I get the chance, its like seeing a unicorn and Bigfoot at the same time."
"Yeah, a real laugh riot." The pale brunette said with a sneer. "And thanks for that, Vega! The last thing I need is a reminder that I gotta buy some unicorn wrapping paper!"
"Wait… Say what now?" Tori asked with a frown. "Who are you and what have you done with my wife?! The real Jade would rather go deaf hearing my sister 'sing' than to buy anything with a unicorn on it!"
"I am your wife, dumbass!"
"Wow… Rude!" The Latina said offended. "But yeah… Checks out, only my Jade would be this blunt."
"I'm sorry, Vega." Jade sighed dejectedly. "It's just that Cat got really annoying with me and wouldn't stop talking until I agreed to take part in some pain in the ass holiday she came up with."
"Let me guess… Yay Day?"
"Yeah that's exactly the one." The Thespian said with a raised eyebrow. "How did you… ? Did Cat already call you before me?"
"No, actually Sam warned me about it years ago." Tori replied. "Seemed quite bitter about it too."
"Wait, Sam?" Jade asked curiously "As in Sam Puckett?"
"The very one."
"Since when are you buddy, buddy with her, Vega?"
"I dunno, a few years?" Tori shrugged. "You'd be surprised how many times I come across her when I go to buy a cheeseburger at Inside Out Burger, it's like every time I enter the restaurant she's there and…"
"Vega, you're going off topic here."
"Oh right… Anyway, when we crossed paths on a random restaurant we started talking and one day Cat was a topic of conversation and she told me about this one time Cat made up Yay Day and that it was basically something she made up just to buy presents, long story short Sam didn't want to buy Cat a present because the last time she got her one, Cat snooped and ruined the surprise."
"Sounds like something Cat would do all right." Jade nodded "And how convenient that she left that part out when I talked to her."
"Yeah, it's moments like these that show Cat can be devious when she wants to be." Tori agreed. "Anyway, Cat ended up snooping on her first and only Yay Day with Sam and because of a mixed up on the presents, Cat ended up giving Sam's gift to a bum out of anger."
"Damn… And they call me bitter."
"It's curious that she's trying to revive Yay Day again." Tori said.
"She most likely doesn't know that we know what happened all those years ago, Vega." Jade shrugged. "Which means that come tomorrow, she's gonna be snooping around for her present and ruin the surprise…. Ugh… She's going to be more annoying than Robbie when it comes to talking about a new phone, isn't she? Can't we get out of it somehow?"
"If we do, do you really want to see Cat cry?" Tori asked rhetorically.
"No… Aw damn it!" Jade cursed "So we're damned if we do and damned if we don't! Is that what you're telling me, Vega?"
"Pretty much." The Latina nodded before a twinkle appeared in her big brown eyes, an idea was slowly emerging in her head. "Unless…"
"Unless what?"
"Um nah…" Tori said dismissively. "You probably would think it's a stupid idea."
"Oh most definitely." Jade agreed. "But if it means escaping from Cat and her idiotic made up day, I'm all ears, so lay it on me Vega!"
"Ok look,, we both know that Cat is going to snoop around for whatever presents we buy, right?"
"Yeah… So?"
"So I say we give her something we know she can't resist."
"You lost me, Vega."
"Oh, it's quite simply…" the Latina said with a grin. "All we have to do is get a few little trinkets and some wrapping and I promised you baby, that come tomorrow, you'll have a peaceful day.…."
"I'd be lying if I said you didn't caught my attention, sweet Sally Peaches." Jade said with a smirk "Tell me more."
The Next Day.
Cat made her way to the West household, already with her own presents to give in her hands, as she walked towards the front door, the former redhead was singing an impromptu... Song.
'I'm gonna give presents because its Yay Day!" She sang happily "And I'm gonna get presents because it's Yay Day! Hurrah! Yay Day! A holiday that should be real! YAY!"
The petite woman was about to knock on the door until she saw a taped note in big bold letters.
HI, CAT:
HAPPY YAY DAY OR WHATEVER.
TORI AND I WENT TO GET SOME STUFF FOR THIS "CELEBRATION" SO WE'RE GOING TO BE A LITTLE LATE, BUT DON'T WORRY, WE'LL BE BACK SOON.
MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME.
AND WHATEVER YOU DO...
... DON'T GO INTO MY STUDIO...
... OR ELSE!
SIGNED.
J & T.
"J & T? Who would that be?" Cat cluelessly wondered out loud. "Doesn't look like anyone I know, maybe I should ask Jade about that, and speaking of her, why can't I look inside her studio?… Unless... That's where my present is!"
With great enthusiasm, Cat got a double of the keys to her friends house and as the note suggested, made herself at home as she put the presents she was going to give Jade and Tori in the living room before she moseyed along towards the former's home studio, already having the itch to tear apart any wrapping paper she came across.
"Oh this is gonna be fun!" Cat thought happily.
Once the former redhead was in front of the wooden door she not so discreetly tried to open it but that proved to be futile as the doorknob wouldn't turn.
"Oooh, the door is locked!" Cat said innocently but then that innocence faded away as she smirked deviously, getting a hair pin out of her head and started working on the door and once she heard a loud click, she knew the door was unlocked. "Gotta remember to thanks Sam for teaching me how to do this."
So without any further ado, Cat opened the door but soon came with yet another predicament as the studio was unusually dark, something that scared her but didn't find it unusual as she knew Jade had a tendency to love staying in the dark to brainstorm ideas, still, that didn't mean she liked the thought of entering the home studio with the lights out, so she instinctively turned on the switch and once her eyes adjusted to the light, the petite woman tried (and failed) to suppress the squeal of utter joy that was coming the moment she saw in front of her several boxes, which they all were covered in baby unicorn wrapping paper.
"YAAAAAAY!"
Cat jumped inside the studio with such velocity that it would have put the road runner to shame, however, the moment the young woman entered, she was unaware that the door closed behind her, she also didn't hear a loud click.
"So much baby unicorn presents!" Cat squealed. "Gotta open them all! They're calling to me!"
The former redhead grabbed the box that was nearest to her and began to tear apart the wrapping paper as if she was a lioness tearing apart her prey and once she was one, the opened her present, only to be confused by what she saw.
"A unicorn's head?" Cat asked a bit disturbed. "Wait… There's a letter inside."
"Congratulations you found the first piece of many, Cat." She began to read. "I knew you wouldn't be able to resist, so in these boxes, you can find the other pieces of your present, just to let you know, some boxes are empty but in some you can find the rest of the unicorn's body, be sure to find them all before the day is over or the unicorn will die!"
"Oh no!" Cat gasped in horror. "Don't worry little unicorn! I'll save you!"
She began to tear apart as many boxes as possible, desperately trying to save the inanimate unicorn from its demise.
"PLEASE DON'T DIE!"
From the outside the married couple could hear what Cat was doing, needless to say that Jade was extremely pleased with the end result as she got a Cat free afternoon, all thanks to her wife's quick thinking, as a result, she gave the Latina the most loving gaze she could ever give someone, which didn't go unnoticed by her spouse.
"What?" Tori asked "Do I have something on my face?"
"Yeah, Vega."
"What is it?"
"This!" The Thespian said as she broke the distance between them and gave the Latina a peck on the check, leaving behind a big red lipstick where her lips had once been.
"Jade!" Tori giggled "Ok, that was a good one."
"And you're about to get more than just a kiss, dear wife of mine." Jade said with a smirk before she got a little wrapped box out that she had hidden under the couch. 'Happy Yay Day, Vega… Ugh… I feel gross by saying that… Curse you, Cat!"
"Aww, thanks Jade!" Tori said touched as she grabbed the box but before she opened it, the Latina gave her pale spouse a gift of her own, which she also hid in a nearby book. "And happy Yay Day to you!"
Jade raised an eyebrow at the envelope but knowing how Tori could be, she expected a lot of things from the woman she loved but disappointed was not one of them.
That being said, the married couple opened their gifts at the same time and almost as in perfect sync they gasped in surprise.
"Oh my God!"
Tori had gotten a golden necklace with a "T" on it and as an added bonus, it was engraved with the words "Te Amo" which in Spanish meant "I love you", Jade on her part had received a ticket to a bunny farm to be used whenever she wanted and while both gifts may have been simply, the sentimental value was enormous as it showed just how much they knew each other.
After all, Jade knew Tori was a sap for the romantics while Tori knew Jade had a soft spot for bunnies.
Tori sent her wife and admiring look, while Jade in turn gave the Latina a look with sheer adoration in her eyes.
"Oh...I love you..." The married women both said simultaneously as they soon held each other, briefly forgetting where they were and that they technically had Cat trapped in the next room.
What happened next made Tori squeal with surprise as Jade her her bridal style.
"JADE!" She laughed. "What are you..?"
"I'm going to show you just how much I love you Vega." The Thespian said as she walked them both to their bedroom.
Cat was unaware of what was going on and while Jade and Tori were having their "alone time", the former redhead hearned some "moaning", this terrified her as she believed ghosts were the ones making the noises.
'Oh no! The ghosts of unicorns pasts are mad with me for not going fast enough!" Cat said in horror "I gotta find the other pieces before its too late!"
And so Cat continues to look for the body parts of the inanimate unicorn.
"Did I just curse this day somehow?" Cat thought in despair. "This has got the he the worst Yay Day ever!"
Meanwhile Jade and Tori thought the opposite.
"Best... Yay... Day... Ever!"
Ok, Firsts things first, I'm aware I ironically relegated Cat to a secondary character despite today being Ariana's birthday but as I said above, this saga is meant for Holidays shenanigans focused on Jori but seeing as Cat is the one who came up with the holiday, I had to include her in the story.
Secondly, as always, please do tell me your thoughts on this idea, was it good? Bad? Or in Between? Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated
As a final comment... Happy Birthday to Ariana Grande!
Invader Johnny Signing Off.
