A/N: Except for Skara's birthday chapter, don't expect the cosmic buddies to appear much.
A week after the finals, it was October 3rd. Oakley Academy was hit with Homecoming fever. Posters were going up, merchandise was getting ready to be sold, and everyone was finding dates for the Oakley Academy Homecoming dance, despite Homecoming being a few weeks away.
Remy wasn't the same after winning ANH. Stephen wasn't talking about the show too much, either. The boys received congratulations and compliments all the same. But they didn't celebrate the victory. Why? Stephen just wanted to get back to baking because that's all he wanted to be famous for and Remy was still overwhelmed about the whole thing.
Garrett celebrated with a small party at Mary Scooper's and got some modest gifts. He didn't want a big party, and Charity respected that.
"Happy birthday, Beau." Tina says.
"Oh, thank you." Beau says, concentrating on his yoga before he had to go to school.
"Beau, honey, you're going to be late!" Jancey says.
Beau nods and rushes off to get changed, then he gets his stuff and heads off to Oakley Academy as Luke was preparing his grand entrance. Beau was surprised to see Luke.
"Luke, how have you been?!" Beau says, hugging him.
"I've been okay." He says.
"Where's your servant?" Beau asked.
Shane sighed and appeared.
"Ah, there he is." Beau says, smiling.
Luke has a scarlet-colored carpet ready with a Gryffindor logo at each end of it and gold trim.
Beau got ready, smiling. This was going to be an amazing day, themed around Harry Potter, just like his party, which will be at a restaurant themed around magic.
The students cheered as Beau walked the scarlet and gold carpet. Beau truly felt like a star at this moment.
At lunch, Beau sat with Luke and his friends.
"Oh, servant! Where are our lunches?" Luke asked Shane.
Shane was coming as he brought their lunches. "Here, Master Luke." he says.
"He calls you master?" Beau asked. Luke nodded and ate his lunch.
"He knows that if he hurts me in any way, my lackeys will beat him up while I get a front row seat." Luke says.
"Anything else, master?" Shane asked Luke.
"Napkins, please." Luke says as Shane runs off. Beau smiled.
"He's well-trained." Beau smiled. "What are your plans for Homecoming in a few weeks? I'm not really sure about my plans. I just know it's girl-ask-guy this year. So hopefully someone will ask me." Beau says, eating the shrimp scampi on his plate.
"I don't really know. I honestly hope I get asked. I haven't had much interaction from my lovers in days." Luke says, eating his chicken enchilada casserole.
Shane returns with the napkins as the boys take them from him.
With Charity, she was working on state stuff while she busied the ninja twins with their homeschooling work.
Sharon came back from her gym, carrying a few bags of granola bars and Vitamin Water.
"Blueberry lavender?" Sharon offers Charity her favorite flavor of Vitamin Water.
"Oh, thank you, Sharon." Charity says.
Kat goes to get a snack.
"So, what are the plans for yours and Lance's anniversary in a few days, Sharon? Are you guys doing anything fun?" Charity asked.
"I'm not sure yet. He normally tells me if we're gonna go do something. Oh, hold that thought…" Sharon says as she got a text from Lance and gasped with surprise.
"What is it?" Charity asked.
"We're going on a 4-day all-inclusive "fitcation" retreat in Clearwater Beach, Florida! Advanced dynamic yoga and everything! Oh, my goodness!" Sharon says. "Lance is so thoughtful!"
"Would you like me and Forest to watch the kids when you go?" Charity asked her.
She nods. "They will be in good hands. I know it." Sharon says.
Meanwhile, Ana and Kat were raiding the fridge and go to watch TV.
"TV! TV!" they chant. They watch Operation Dessert Storm and cheer.
"I hope we win that competition. Could you imagine if we got to be on the show, tasting all those sweets? " Kat says as Ana squeals.
With Luke, he sighed. He knew nobody was going to ask him to Oakley Academy's Homecoming. He saw Cuphead had two Homecoming dates. Luke sniffed, jealous.
Zee came with a marching band. "Luke, will you go to both Homecomings with me?" She asked, well, sang, with the band playing.
Luke was surprised. "Zee! Oh, of course I will!" Luke says, shedding tears of joy.
Meanwhile at school, Lucy was writing poems alone for a poetry slam and thought about Lisa.
"What's going on?" Haiku asked her.
"Beau's birthday is today." Lucy says.
"He's having a Harry Potter birthday party at a restaurant themed around magic." Haiku says. "Stephen is going to it."
"Oh, okay." Lucy says. "I guess Lisa forgot about his birthday today."
Lisa works on his gift.
"How come only Luke gets a week?" Beau asked.
"Shane gets one, too. And you don't get a week because your family can only do one party a year for you." Lonnie reminded him. "Aren't you grateful for that?"
"I really should be. My mom does a wonderful job with my parties and I can tell she's really going all out this year." Beau says.
Meanwhile, Kat and Ana were training. Ana tries cutting Kat, who leaped and tossed ninja stars.
Ana leaped away from the stars. "What happened to Penny after the whole Luke abuse thing?" Ana asked.
"She decided to leave Oakley. She couldn't handle all the teasing and stuff." Kat says.
Lisa approached Beau with a gift. "Happy 18th birthday." Lisa says, giving him a kiss and a gift.
It was tickets to Hawaii and notes asking if he wanted to go to Homecoming with her in very fluent Mandarin.
"Oh, Lisa!" Beau says. "Of course! I would be delighted! And I hope you'll be at my party tonight."
Lisa nodded and smiled.
Shane left school that day, his head in a fog. He was lonely. He was Luke's servant. What more was there to think about?
Leni finds him. He sat in his room, staring at the wall.
"Are you okay?" Leni asked. Shane shook his head.
"My life is over." Shane says.
Leni hugged him as he sobbed.
Beau was at his part time job at the mall, which was at Good Sport Sporting Goods.
Girls wanted autographs from him. Beau smiled and gladly signed them.
Lucy sighed. "Wanted to stay home…" she says.
Later, Luke and Ollie set up the party at the magic-themed restaurant. Jancey had done some of the work and Stephen made a spectacular Harry Potter-themed cake.
Tina knitted a sweater for him, although Beau had a Gryffindor-themed costume that he special-ordered from New York that he planned on wearing.
Beatrix smiled at the setup. "Beau is going to love this! Did you bring a hat for us to use as a Sorting Hat? Beau wants all the guests to be sorted into 'houses' upon their arrival and all that. Beau already made himself head prefect of Gryffindor house." She says.
Luke nods.
"Oh, good!" Beatrix says. "And I trust the Foxes are coming, right? My mom paid them triple just to show up and do magic. If they don't show up, at least have Oliver's friends on speed dial…"
"Of course, of course." Luke says. "I'll keep that in mind."
Beau sighed at work as he was stocking tennis equipment. He had been asking for new tennis gear himself, so it was natural to see that he was jealous as he was stocking all this stuff.
"I'll never get it. I was slated to be captain of the team this season, too…" Beau sadly sighed.
Meanwhile, Shane accidentally spilled soda on Luke because Lincoln tripped into him.
"You're ruining the party!" Luke hissed, angry as can be.
"Sorry, master…sorry!" Shane shook. Mike and Josh see this.
"If you screw up again, you have a beating with your name on it!" Luke hisses. Shane nods, shaking.
Beau changes into his costume at work, shedding tears. Tina feels bad for him as he begins to sing a song.
"My 18th birthday was supposed to be perfect…a day of which I've dreamed since I was small…all my friends and family would gather 'round, maybe give me a crown, but I guess my day was never special at all…" Beau sadly sang.
His boss decided to let him off work. Beau sadly left.
He soon arrived at the party as confetti fell down on him. He slowly looked up.
"Surprise!" Everyone says. "Happy 18th birthday, Beau!"
"Oh, my God…" Beau says, looking at his Harry Potter birthday party.
He had tears of joy. "Thank you…" he says. He sniffed and smiled. This was a surprise that he'd never forget.
The party starts as Beau opens a few gifts, starting with Luke's.
It was what he wanted. "New tennis gear…Luke, how did you know?" Beau says.
"I just do." Luke says.
"Thank you, this is just incredible!" He says as he then opens Ollie's gift. Beau smiled when he saw the box full of Harry Potter-themed candy.
"Wow! There's so much!" Beau says. "I love all this Harry Potter candy! Thanks, Ollie!"
Ollie smiled. "You're welcome." He says.
Beau then opened the gift from Oliver. It was a magic set. "Oh, wow! I love it!" Beau says.
Beau then found Beatrix's gift and opened it.
It was a broom. A magic broom.
"Cool! It's just like Harry's first Quidditch broom!" Beau says. "Thank you, sis!"
Beau then notices Jancey's gift. "Oh, this is a big one!" Beau says.
It was a Harry Potter Lego set. The 6,000-piece Hogwarts castle set he wanted.
"Thank you! I've always wanted this one!" Beau says.
After the gifts, it was time for dinner and the magic show.
Beau was getting served first as he smiled. As he eats, Oliver and his siblings begin their magic show. Beau was amazed by this.
They then do some scenes from Harry Potter, acting out some of Beau's favorite scenes.
Fans cheered, and Beau clapped as he loved it all.
Soon, Oliver's friends do a magic show, which Beau loves.
Luke was thinking of his day.
As everyone was exploring the restaurant's gift shops and game room, Oliver gulped. Cynthia and Cecilia were also born on the 13th.
He wondered what to do, knowing if he ditched Cynthia, she would never let him hear the end of it and sometimes she was a big spoiled person, like some rich girls, though she means well.
"Let the cosmic buddies celebrate them" Luke says.
"But Skara is Brandy's sister, they probably are planning her birthday." Oliver says.
"I was enlisted to do most of it. Let's face it, they'll probably drag her on an adventure she may not even want to be part of." Luke says.
"So we take her from her awful family?" Oliver asked.
"When have the cosmic buddies ever had a good party?" Luke asked. Mike and Josh snicker.
Meanwhile, Lisa shows Beau her next gift, a room based off of Harry Potter's room from the movie.
"Incredible!" Beau says. "I love you!"
Lisa smiled and blushed a bit.
Tina gives Beau a Hogwarts hoodie she knitted for him. Beau smiled and hugged her. "Thank you, sis." Beau says. "I love it!"
Later, it was piñata time. Beau smiled when the Golden Snitch piñata was hung in the middle of the party room.
He got a magic bat and hit it as candy and Harry Potter-themed toys fell out. Beau grinned as he grabbed his share of candy and toys.
Skara took her share as Beau smiled at her.
Later, everyone was chatting or dancing. Skara was listening to some songs she had to practice for the Bard coven on her headphones. She and the entire Bard coven were going to do a Die Bard 2 re-enactment and she was playing the lead.
Beau wonders about his cake, but couldn't help but listen to Skara's singing.
"Guys, I want Luke to do something for my birthday." Ann says, listening to his audio soundtrack
"I'm busy here." Cynthia says, designing a gift for Oliver.
"You plan on marrying him?" Kali asked
"Duh!" Ann says as the others laugh, except Kali.
"I couldn't help but listen to the singing you did there…" Beau says.
"Thanks, everyone, except my former parents said it's horrible. My brothers never said anything, either." Skara says. "You think I could win in ANH?"
"Absolutely! And if you need an extra seat filler at your re-enactment thing, I'm there." Beau says. "It sounds like a good time."
"Yeah, you're right. Randy and I are going to win." she says.
"And don't listen to what those hater sat. They're just jealous of how talented you truly are." Beau says.
"Emma loves my music and was one of the first people to compliment me." Skara says.
"Still, don't listen to those haters. You're really talented." Beau says to Skara as she smiles.
Soon, Cuphead and Mugman did a performance for him. Beau sat and watched the whole thing.
Skara sat alone. "I know my siblings are trying. They really are and it sucks, because they can't give me a good party, even if they're planning a big festival for me. But the town hates them. Looks like I'm going to suffer." She says to herself.
Raine overhears her and pities her. So does Boscha.
"Hey, Skara, are you all right?" Boscha asked her.
"Yeah, it's just my siblings are struggling to plan a party because of Gem. She's going to target me." She got a text and squealed. "Awww, my siblings want to do my birthday in either the Mushroom Kingdom or the Boiling Isles." She then frowned, wondering about her last birthday. She was all alone last year.
"Skara, don't cry…" Raine says, holding her.
"I know they're trying….I just don't know…I don't understand…" Skara sobbed.
Boscha feels bad for her girlfriend as she joined in the holding of Skara.
"What's gonna happen after I graduate this year?! Are they gonna struggle to celebrate my graduation, too?!" Skara cries.
Beau goes to her and holds her.
"Hey…it's going to be okay." Beau says. "If they don't celebrate your birthday or your graduation, just know that you have friends who care about you and will do anything for you."
She smiled. "I hope they do, though. It'd be nice to have a family celebrating me. Even if I ditch their events."
"They never invited you to their events." Boscha points out.
Soon, it was time for cake. Beau always knew this part of his birthday always resulted in his family ditching him at times.
"Let's just get it over with." Beau sighed. He walked into the party room as he sat on the throne at the head of the party table. He puts his hands over his eyes as he removes his glasses.
"Beau, you can open your eyes now." Lisa says as Beau opens his eyes and puts on his glasses.
"Happy 18th birthday, Beau!" everyone says. His parents and Tina were there, holding cameras and smiling.
Beau was speechless as he sniffed. He looks at the cake as it was set before him. Stephen had outdone himself as he had made the cake look exactly like Hogwarts Castle. The white chocolate plaque says Here's To Another Year Of Magic And Still Waiting For Your Hogwarts Letter! Happy 18th Birthday, Beau!
He smiled and took a picture of the cake with his phone.
"Wait, are you actually planning on going there?" Leni asked.
"It's just part of the theme, Leni." Luke says.
Soon, Oliver lit the candles and everyone began to sing to Beau as he smiled. Beau thinks of a wish.
He wished to have a grand graduation party and for Skara to be happy. He blew out his candles, then offered Skara the second slice of cake, since he got the first piece.
Later, after the party, Lisa was heading home to work on stuff.
Beau and Boscha were sitting with Skara at his house.
Luke sighed as he wondered, should he plan the party or let the cosmic buddies do it all?
"You OK?" Ollie asked.
"Skara looks absolutely miserable…" Luke says.
"Leave that family alone. We gotta plan Homecoming and maybe plan the Homecoming stuff for Metropolis." Ollie says.
Luke hissed and stormed off as Ollie looks down. All Luke wants to do is see Skara happy, but Ollie didn't seem to care about the Waterlashes.
