On November 12, Shane was getting ready. Shane was trying on his Ken costume.
"Something doesn't feel right here…" Shane says, looking at his reflection. He then gazes up at his black curls.
"What?" Penny asked.
"Ken is a blonde. Not a black curlytop." Shane says. "But I don't want to be a permanent blonde. Just for the talent show and that's it."
"You? Blonde? No way." Penny says.
"Well, I'm not Luke! I don't have a head full of luscious golden blonde locks like he does!" Shane screamed.
She holds him. "Then don't." she says.
"Don't what?" Shane says.
"Don't use blonde hair, your hair is perfect." Penny says to Shane.
"Does my cosplay have to be accurate? Because I'd have to change songs…." Shane says.
"No." Penny says.
Shane just feels frustrated.
Meanwhile….
"We got this." Melony says. The cosmic buddies head out.
Luke saw the frustration on Shane's face when he entered the dressing room that Shane and Penny were in. Shane had torn off his costume as he was ranting to himself.
"Shane, your cosplay does not have to be accurate, you can do the song how you want to do it." Luke says.
"Do you not know the lyrics to I'm Just Ken?!" Shane screamed. "Is it my destiny to live and die a life of blonde fragility? Do I literally have to change that lyric to suit me?! Auggghhh!"
Shane cries out, frustrated and stressed.
"Try doing that." Luna tells him. "Try changing that particular lyric."
Shane calms himself and tries it. "Is it my destiny to live and die a life of curly-haired fragility?" he sings out.
"There we go! That sounds perfect!" Luna says.
Shane sighs.
"What's wrong, cousin?" Luna asked.
"Just a bit stressed." Shane says. "And I'm nervous. This is my first state-sanctioned talent show."
She nodded. "It's a lot of pressure. Remember what you told us the other day? Whether you place or not, you have other things that you're already planning to win. One loss does not define who you are. You're Shane Loud. You can do anything. And whether you win or you lose or you don't place in the top five, we are always going to be proud of you." Luna says.
"Remember that." Luke says. "What she said goes triple for me. You are going to do great, Shane."
He smiled and put on his Ken costume.
The talent show host, Braxton Shepherd, soon came on stage.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Michigan's Got Talent! We have talented people from all over Michigan participating in tonight's show, and as you know, there will be a top five who will get some sort of prize, but only the participant or participants at the top will get the top prize and the coveted Best In Show title." Braxton says.
The crowd cheered as the first contestant went up.
Backstage, Shane was getting ready.
"Good luck." Ollie says.
"Same to you. I dig the outfit, by the way. Good use of sapphire blue!" Shane says.
"Thanks. I love your Ken costume." Ollie says.
"Well, thank you." Shane says.
"Okay, we're going to have fun as a team." Savannah says.
"I doubt we're allowed in as a team." Bill says.
"You are. And Braxton is a friend of Gemma's, who aspires to host a show just like this for TV one day." Savannah says.
Soon the cosmic buddies were up. Emma started it off by doing a cheerleader performance with pom-poms, then they did a reenactment of Melony's final performance of ANH. Delta leaped and sped around before Angry Luigi shot lightning fireworks as Melony spat out exploding seeds to the skies. Then Emila added magic to it. They soon strike a pose before We Are Born To Play starts as they do a performance to it.
Fans cheered as Melony blew a kiss to Garrett.
Kat and Ana took the stage next as they leaped and did ninja chops, chopping 30 boards.
Soon, Shane came out as girls screamed for him. Shane smiles as he begins his rendition of I'm Just Ken while walking, singing, and dancing through his Malibu Ken Dreamhouse stage setup.
Luke smiled watching this as Shiloh clapped. Sasha, Luna, and Penny watch and smile at Shane.
Soon, Shane finished as the crowd cheered and girls screamed for him.
Soon, other people went on before Lana took the stage and made Hops do some tricks.
Shane sat backstage as he stared at the wall. He wasn't sure if that was his best performance. He then looked down.
Ollie got ready as he tuned the guitar his dad gave him.
"Good luck." June says to her brother.
"Thanks, sis." Ollie says.
"Even if you don't win, even if you don't place in the top five, we will still be proud of you. One loss will not define you, Ollie." Esther says. "You are talented in everything you do."
"We all love you. Especially me." Molly says and gives Ollie a "good luck" kiss.
Ollie smiled at Molly and his family.
After more people went on, it was soon Ollie's turn. He stepped on stage, guitar in hand.
Ollie then performed Johnny B. Goode, singing and dancing like nobody's business, his name spelled out in light-up letters in the stage background.
Fans cheered wildly as Molly screamed. Ruben was smiling proudly at his son, knowing he was good at playing the guitar among the other things he was good at doing.
He soon finished as the fans cheered.
The cups soon took the stage.
They performed If I Didn't Have You as fans cheered.
"How are ya'll even from Michigan, anyway?" Luna asked them.
"We moved." the cups said.
Later, the judges were tallying up the scores, trying to determine the top 5. Melony was a bit nervous.
"We did great." Savannah says. Jason sighed.
"Well, I have to leave after this." Melony says. "This was my last night in Michigan."
A couple of creatures came towards them.
"Oh, no, you don't!" Delta says. "Please say yes to a fight…"
"We just wanna be cosmic buddies." one says.
"Well, that's just great. I'm getting replaced." Melony says, looking sad.
"You're not." Savannah says.
"If that's all right." Ayu says.
"Okay, fine." Bill says.
Soon, everyone took the stage as the ninja twins were nervous.
"Our judges have picked our top 5 and believe me, it wasn't easy to pick a top 5 because there were so many amazing acts tonight. So, without further ado, we'll start by announcing our 5th place winner." Braxton says. "And that is…Bree Christian from Ann Arbor!"
The crowd cheered as Bree accepted her orange 5th place ribbon and $250 cash prize gratefully.
"4th place goes to Cuphead and Mugman!" Braxton says. The crowd cheered for the cups as they accepted their white 4th place ribbons and split the $500 check evenly.
"3rd place goes to Ollie Chen!" Braxton says.
"Way to go, Ollie!" His family and Molly say as he accepts his yellow 3rd place ribbon and his $1,000 cash prize.
"2nd place goes to Shane Loud!" Braxton says as the Louds and Shane's friends went nuts.
"Way to go, Shaney!" Sasha and Penny say. Luke smiled as Shane took his red 2nd place ribbon and his $2,500 cash prize.
"And now, our 1st place winner, and our Best In Show title, goes to…The Cosmic Buddies!" Braxton says with a smile.
Melony was surprised by this.
"You deserve it, squirt." Alem tuber says as Melony smiled as she raised the trophy high. The team got blue ribbons and split the $5,000 cash prize among themselves.
The siblings were proud as the ninja twins were gone.
"Girls? What did we talk about? If you didn't win, you were gonna be grateful to even be in the show at all." Charity told them.
"Our friends ditched us and the siblings didn't even arrive till Shane started." Kat sniffed.
"And that's a cause for being sore losers?" Charity asked.
"We're upset because our friends missed our performance and the siblings didn't cheer us on." Ana sniffed.
"Girls, there will be other shows. Shane didn't know you even entered the show. I knew you entered, but the siblings honestly didn't know you were in it." Charity says.
Meanwhile
"So, Ashley, do you wanna enter Audition?" Penny asked, knowing Ashley has sung before.
"It's not as crowded as ANH." Penny says.
Meanwhile
"Garrett, if we enter ANH, you should enter with your friends." Melony says, wanting Garrett to be with his old friends, thinking it would help them hang out more. Yes, she loved him, but she couldn't keep babying him.
"I think it's a good idea." Garrett smiled.
"So, what will you do, Melony?" Remy asked.
"Be a teenager. I think I'll take a break, unless the fans cry for me." Melony says.
"Makes sense." Stephen says. "We're taking Ollie and Shane to celebrate their amazing performances. Wanna join us before you go?"
"Sure." Melony says.
Meanwhile the cosmic buddies was celebrating thier victory as the parents were proud.
They also had new members, Lambie McStuffins, Katy Caterpillar, Ayu Tsukimiya, Ember Lyria and Ruby Gillman.
"I was not expecting new members." Jason says.
"I didn't think we could win, but I guess anything could happen and next Friday is the start of Thanksgiving break." Alex says.
Angry Luigi looked at the skies and held his head as he glitched a bit, but no one noticed. These souls were slowly killing him.
At Mary Scooper's, Shane and Ollie were being praised for their performances as they smiled. Ollie was eating some soy milk-based ice cream while Shane had a Bears On The Moon sundae.
Melony didn't brag too much as she felt a thud on the table as the waiter got them a free sundae. Ollie and Shane looked at it in shock.
They smiled and began to eat, but Ollie eventually went back to his soy milk-based ice cream.
"So, is ANH really getting rebranded?" Luna asked.
"According to the Everything Entertainment website and Gemma herself, yes." Sam says, eating her vegan chocolate ice cream. "Gemma had been talking about this for a long time, but hasn't wanted to do it. Until now."
"Interesting." Luke says.
"When is she gonna announce the new name of the show?" Shane asked.
"In a few weeks." Luna says. "The news is still fresh on a lot of people's minds."
"Luke, you're entering, right?" Shane asked.
"Yeah, I am. And you?" Luke asked.
Shane nodded, along with Ollie.
Meanwhile, Angry Luigi arrived home, knowing Willow didn't care.
"Surprise!" Willow and her dads said.
The twins and Emma were surprised to see the Parks had made a victory dessert spread. Especially blueberry pie and muffins.
The twins gasp as Emma is stunned. "They truly do care." Emma says.
"We saw it on Willow's scroll!" Gilbert says.
"We are so proud of you all!" Willow says.
They all soon sit down to eat the desserts, celebrating the victory that was well-earned.
