10/14/2656- Union Forces Attempt To Seize Protectorate Vessels, Conflict Between The Union And Protectorate
"Today, Union marines boarded dozens of Protectorate warships in port, attempting to take control of them. This proved to be less successful than expected, with Protectorate crewmembers being prepared for the attack and leading to only 6 vessels falling under Union control, with dozens of marines dead and many more captured. Protectorate forces responded immediately, attacking Union bases in the Protectorate and boarding Union vessels, proving more successful. The forces shown by the Protectorate in the counterattack are both more than could be expected to respond to a surprise attack, leading to suspicions that the Protectorate knew about the operation beforehand, and included units not known to be part of the Protectorates forces, including several unknown warship built along Protectorate lines. Attacks on Union forces continue across the Protectorate."
