Chapter 3: New Family into the Clan
Izaya had been going to school with Ichigo and Yoko as he's been recovering and doing a lot better. His grades have gone up and he's been eating and drinking as well too. Izaya kinda opened up to Ichigo and Yoko about his situation, they understood what he was going through and Yoko hopes that Izaya will be able to find a new loving family soon.
"Izaya, I'm so sorry you've gone through that. I can't imagine being in your shoes, but I'm so glad that you're doing a whole lot better now." Yoko told him as she smiled big.
"Thank you. I should get some updates today. Right Ichigo?" Izaya asked his close friend as Ichigo turned to him.
"Huh? Oh yeah you are actually. Rukia is coming by today to pick you up." Ichigo said as he gave Izaya a warm smile.
Izaya smiled back as he nodded at him. After they had lunch they headed back to their class to finish the rest of the school day. Izaya kept focusing on his studies rather than being adopted into a new family as he's still worried that they're gonna look into his past being taken in by a Quincy. Izaya sighed as he shook his head and continued to work. After school had ended, Izaya stood up and ran out of the classroom first as he ran outside. Yoko looked at Ichigo in concern.
"Why's he running so fast? Is he excited or something?" Yoko asked Ichigo as she saw Izaya's figure fully gone.
"I guess. I should probably catch up to him. I'll give you an update on him. See ya." Ichigo said as he closed his locker and walked out of the building to follow Izaya.
Izaya stopped by a tree as he panted and looked back as he heard his name being called.
"Izaya!" The voice said as it echoed.
Izaya stood up as he waved his hand. Ichigo saw and him and stopped by the tree and panted.
"Why'd you run away? Rukia hasn't texted me that she's on her way yet." Ichigo said as he panted.
"I'm sorry. I thought she was back at your house. I guess I want this thing over with…. I'm just a little nervous." Izaya said as he sighed, looking down.
Ichigo kneeled as he put his hand on Izaya's cheek and gave him a warm smile.
"Hey, it's gonna be okay. Rukia talked to her brother about it and he sounded so interested to take you in. You deserve better, Izaya." Ichigo told him as he gave Izaya a smile.
Izaya hugged Ichigo as Ichigo smiled and hugged him back. The two stopped hugging each other as they both headed back to Ichigo's house. Ichigo unlocked the door as the two walked in.
"You want something for a snack, Izaya?" Ichigo asked him as he opened the fridge and looked around.
"Sure. I'm okay with anything really. I'll be in your room." Izaya said as he walked to Ichigo's room.
Ichigo nodded as he found something that he and Izaya could eat til Rukia will come by and pick up Izaya. Ichigo grabbed something for them to drink as he walked upstairs to his room. Izaya left the door open for Ichigo as Ichigo walked in.
"Knock knock. Got some snacks for ya.~" Ichigo said as he smiled at his friend.
Izaya walked up and helped Ichigo get the snacks from his hands as he gave him a smile.
"Thanks. Can we eat on your bed or floor?" Izaya asked his friend in concern.
"I prefer the floor. I hate having crumbs on my bed and then I have to clean it and all. So let's just eat on the floor." Ichigo said as he sat on the floor, opening his snack.
Izaya did the same as he sighed happily. He ate as he looked outside the window.
Ichigo noticed that Izaya had spaced out and he tapped on his shoulder.
"Hey pal, you okay?" Ichigo asked his friend as Izaya looked at him.
Izaya nodded. "I am…..I'm just a little…..scared….I guess. What if the people in the Soul Society don't like me?" Izaya asked Ichigo as he looked down.
"I wouldn't worry about that. I mean they didn't like me when I first arrived to save Rukia and all but then they sorta grew to get used to me coming there every now and then. You know?" Ichigo said as he gave Izaya a smile.
Izaya only nodded at him then he gasped. "What if they know that I've been taken in by a Quincy?" Izaya asked as he began to have a panic attack.
Ichigo crawled close to him and gave Izaya a hug, calming him down.
"Hey, I promise it's gonna be okay. They won't ever figure that unless you tell them but they won't threaten you. I highly doubt the head Captain will let that happen anyway." Ichigo said as he stroked Izaya's hair.
Izaya began to calm down as he looked at Ichigo and nodded. "Thank you. I needed that, Ichigo." Izaya said as he hugged Ichigo.
Ichigo smiled and hugged him back as the two let go of each other and went back to eat their snack. When they got done, they waited for Rukia to come by to pick up Izaya. It was really quiet in Ichigo's room. Kon's sleeping on Ichigo's bed, Izaya was mostly looking around Ichigo's room, and Ichigo is on his phone texting his boyfriend, Grimmjow back and forth. All they hear was the click on the wall going "tick tock tick tock tick tock" over and over. Izaya sighed as he stood up and opened the window. Ichigo looked up at him.
"Hey, she's coming. Maybe she got stuck in the gates." Ichigo explained to Izaya.
Izaya turned to him as he closed the windows. "That can happen? Can she make it out alive?" Izaya asked Ichigo as he sat down.
"Of course. To both of your answers but- Oh here she comes." Ichigo said as he looked at a large portal forming in his room, as the gates were opening.
Izaya stood up as he covered his eyes as it was very bright to look at. Two figures came out of the gates and two black butterflies as they flew in. The gates closed as Izaya gasped at them.
"Hello. We're here for Izaya, Ichigo Kurosaki." A stern soft voice said as it reached Izaya.
"He's right here. He's been waiting for you two." Ichigo said as he smiled at them.
"Come with us, Izaya. It's time." The voice said as again as he held out his hand.
Izaya walked up to them but he looked behind them, not seeing Rukia anywhere. He only saw two male figures standing before him as Izaya looked back at Ichigo. Ichigo gave Izaya a warm smile and mouthed him "Go on." Izaya nodded as he walked up to the male figures as one of them opened the gates again, the bright light shining into Izaya's eyes as he covered them and walked into the gates with the two male figures. The gates closed as Ichigo waved at them and sighed happily.
"Good luck." He whispered to himself as he laid down on his bed to rest.
When they arrived Izaya opened his eyes as he looked around.
"Welcome to the Soul Society, Izaya." Renji said to him as he smiled.
"Thank you. Um, who are you guys and where's Rukia?" Izaya asked them as they both looked at him.
"Where are my manners? I'm Byakuya Kuchiki. Rukia is talking with the head captain about bringing you here. But it seems like he wants to speak with you. And this is my lieutenant Renji Abarai." Byakuya said to Izaya as Renji bowed to him.
"Hey. Sorry if I scared you earlier. Are you feeling alright?" Renji asked Izaya as he looked at him.
"Yes. I was just expecting Rukia cause she saved me." Izaya told them as he sighed a bit.
"It's okay. You're gonna see her right now. Please follow me." Byakuya told Izaya as he held out his hand to him.
Izaya nodded as he held onto Byakuya's hand and the two walked down to a giant tower that Rukia was located at. Rukia stood there very quietly along with the other captains as the doors opened. The head Captain looked up as he opened his eye.
"Please enter." The head Captain's voice said as it gave Izaya chills down his spine.
Byakuya walked with Izaya as many captains we're murmuring about Izaya. Izaya kept his eyes focused on the head Captain. He then saw Rukia as Rukia gave him a warm smile. Izaya smiled back at her as he realized that he and Byakuya had reached their end face to face with the head Captain. Izaya took some deep breaths to calm down. Byakuya stood by Rukia as Rukia scooted closer to him.
"What brings you here, young lad?" The head Captain asked Izaya in a very raspy voice as it sent chills down Izaya's spine again.
Izaya gulped as he kneeled and bowed his head. "Sir, I was brought here because Miss Rukia Kuchiki saved me from an abusive home and some hollows the next day. I wish to stay here to be safe from him." Izaya said as he was panting. He was hoping that As Nodt wasn't near to hear everything.
"Hmm? Who is 'him' you speak of, lad?" The head Captain asked Izaya as Izaya looked up to him and began to have another panic attack.
Everyone watched as Rukia looked at Byakuya. "Please let me calm him. He's having a panic attack, brother." Rukia whispered to Byakuya as Byakuya nodded to her.
Rukia walked up to Izaya and hugged him. Izaya looked at Rukia and hugged her as he began to tear up.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I don't wanna say his name. I'm sorry." Izaya said as he cried many times onto Rukia's shoulder.
The head Captain groaned as he stood up. "Why did you two bring him here if we don't know if he's a traitor or a spy?" He asked as he gave Byakuya and Rukia a glare.
"Sir, please. Izaya isn't either of those things. You mustn't have asked him about his past homelife just yet. He's still very much shaken up by that event as he is trying to work through them." Byakuya said as he folded his arms.
"Oh yeah!? What if he brings him here and gets us all killed? You're still gonna defend him, Kuchiki?!" A muscular Captain said with black spiky hair wearing an eyepatch on his left eye.
Byakuya turned to him, giving him a death glare. "Don't make me have your blood spilling, Captain Zakari." Byakuya said as he stood up and folded his arms.
Then the head Captain tapped on his cane very loudly which made everyone stop forming a commotion. Everyone looked at him. Izaya looked also as he sniffled. Byakuya sighed.
"Sir, I'm going to adopt Izaya into my Clan. He needs a new family to take him in." Byakuya explained to the head Captain.
"And why is that?" The head captain asked him.
"Because…..I'm a runaway. No family wanted to take me in. I mean they did but they didn't give me any attention that a child deserves. Then I was taken in by a….a Quincy….he was using me to train to defeat the Soul Reapers. Whenever I refuse, he would beat me senseless." Izaya explained as he heard a lot of Captains gasping.
"A Quincy huh?! Is he coming here to kill us!?" Kenpachi took out his Zanpakuto as Byakuya used a kido spell to stop him. Giving him a major death glare.
The rest of the Captains sighed and shook their heads. The head Captain stood there very quietly as he was waiting for everyone to chill out.
"That's enough. We shouldn't judge this kid too harshly. He said that if he refuses to train, the quincy will beat him. Is that right, lad?" A Captain with shiny brown hair and wearing glasses asked Izaya.
Izaya stood up as he was finally calm. "Yes. That's correct. But I don't even know what Soul Reapers are. He just kept telling me how bad they are. And when I was a baby, I had a mother. She's a human and my father was a Soul Reaper. I haven't seen my mom in years." Izaya explained as he was done having his traumas bothering him in his mind.
Everyone grew quiet as they all looked at him. Izaya looked back at the Captains.
"What? You guys asked so sorry for trauma dumping. But I don't want to be killed today. I was saved by Rukia and she promised me that he won't come here. All for I know, he's back in the world of the living, at home, probably throwing knives at his own pathetic self." Izaya said as he grinned.
Every Captain raised their eyebrows and whispered. They were not expecting Izaya to have dark humor in him. A few Captains grinned.
"I like him. Can we keep him, Old Man Yama? He seems harmless." A Captain with long brown hair with a ponytail, hat, a red rose, and a Pink cloak on him said to the Head Captain.
"Hmm? Captain Kuchiki will take him in. I believe that this quincy won't ever come here as long as this lad stays far away from him." The head Captain said to him.
"Sir, I promise you, I have no interest in going back to him. He never treated me like I was his own kid. He only took me in to use and abuse me for his own pleasure. I wish to stay far away from him." Izaya said as he had a smile on his face.
"Alright then, it's settled. Dismissed." The Head Captain said as everyone looked at the Kuchiki's as Izaya gave everyone a smile as he walked with them.
"Oh and Captain Zakari, if you ever lay a finger on Izaya and if I see him bleeding to death, I promise you, you won't ever live til tomorrow. And that goes for all of you. Treat Izaya with kindness." Byakuya said as he walked off with Rukia and Izaya.
Everyone gulped as some shook their heads. Kenpachi scoffs.
"Are you guys gonna take him seriously? I think he wants us to make the new member bleed. Eh, whatever. I'm getting some wine." Kenpachi said as he walked out of the Captain's meeting.
Byakuya took Izaya into a private office to learn more about his parents. Izaya stood there as Byakuya logged in and opened up some files.
"Izaya, do you remember the name of your parents?" Byakuya asked him.
Izaya gasped as he dug under his clothing and took out a letter that his mom gave him when he was an infant. He handed it to Byakuya as Byakuya read it. He typed down the name 'Mitch' on the file as it showed up. Izaya gasped when he saw a rare picture of his dad.
"Dad…..?" Izaya teared up as he looked down. "What happened to my father, Byakuya? My mother didn't really explained his suicide." Izaya asked his new big brother.
Byakuya sighed as he turned to Izaya. "No one knows. He was a great Soul Reaper too. One day, he left to the world of the living to live with your mom. We haven't heard from him again." Byakuya explained to Izaya as he sighed.
Izaya read the letter again. "Both my parents were really young adults. So they couldn't take care of me. My mom abandoned me and left me as an infant. But I do have a few memories of her." Izaya told Byakuya as he whipped his tears away.
Byakuya nodded as he too read the letter again. Then he typed down 'Mitch' again as another file showed up. Byakuya read it but it's still unclear why Mitch committed suicide. Byakuya sighed. He then looked at Izaya.
"Did Mitch ever leave a note and give it to your mom?" Byakuya asked Izaya.
Izaya shook his head. "No. Maybe he had a bad life too and thought bringing a kid into this rotten world would make it better, but it was already too late to abort me. He probably had regrets impregnating my mom and brought me into a terrible situation. I'm sorry, I shouldn't make any theories about this…" Izaya said as he sighed.
"No, it's okay. I can agree with that theory. Do you remember where your mom is?" Byakuya asked Izaya one last time as he typed down her name but no files had shown up.
"No. After she left me, she ran away. I tried to search for her but after I was taken in by him, I stopped searching for her." Izaya explained once more as he sighed again.
Byakuya nodded as he hugged Izaya. "Thank you. I'm gonna help you find your mom. I'm sorry you've been through that. Me, Rukia, and Renji will give you the best life living here." Byakuya said as he looked at Izaya.
"Thank you. But I'm still going to school in the living world, can I still attend there and then maybe attend the Soul Academy?" Izaya asked Byakuya as he smiled.
"Of course. You're going to the same school with Ichigo Kurosaki, correct? He's a Substitute Soul Reaper." Byakuya explained to Izaya.
"Yes. Me and Ichigo are great friends. He said he'll protect me if he shows his face around." Izaya said as he had shivers down his spine.
Byakuya nodded. "Then it's settled. I wish you the best, my little brother." Byakuya said as he opened his arms again as Izaya hugged him.
"Thank you, big brother! I promise, I won't let you and the Clan down!" Izaya said happily.
Even though is still suffering a bit from his traumas, he tells himself everyday that everything is gonna be alright. He found himself a new family in the Soul Society. He already has three friends in the living room which are Ichigo, Yoko, and Kon. Izaya now hopes he can make more friends at the Soul Society and his human school.

So, I do have a whole lore about my first Bleach OC Mitch, But I don't wanna make a long story about him as I am trying to move on from some personal past events with him during my Facebook Role Playing days.
But other than that, I hope y'all enjoyed Izaya's backstory. (: I am very happy to re-write this again & I think it turned out great.
