Day 1 - Sun/Admiration: Divine Beauty
Trunks and Marron talk and reflect about love.
.
The golden rays from the sun made their way into Marron's bedroom through the large window, on the left side of her huge bedroom. The young woman sat up and stretched her arms above her head before jumping out of her bed. Just like she does every morning, she walked to the window to look outside. Though it was a beautiful view, she was getting tired of it lately, as well as of her life as a goddess.
After doing her usual morning routine, Marron went outside to breathe in some fresh air. She couldn't help but think heaven was more boring without Bulla around. She missed her best friend so much. She sighed and went to sit on her favorite cloud.
A few meters away from where she was, a certain lavender-haired young man couldn't keep his eyes away from her. He tried to be as quiet as he could, but his presence didn't go unannounced by the blonde.
"Good morning, Trunks." Marron said as she turned around to look at him.
"G-Good morning, Marron." He replied, hating the way he felt his cheeks burning from embarrassment. "Did you find anything interesting down there?"
"What?" It took her a few seconds to understand what he was referring to. She glanced down to Earth. "Eh… not really."
"Then what were you doing?"
"Nothing that exciting, actually." Marron rolled over on the cloud and looked at him. "I miss Bulla."
"Well, she made a choice."
"How can you say that?" She was shocked and surprised at the way Trunks talked about Bulla. "She's your sister."
"She has made her choice to live on Earth."
"And you're feeling sad about it." She stated as she sat down.
"No." He said firmly, but knew she had him figured out. How could she not?
"I know it's hard to understand sometimes cause you have a different vision on things, but Bulla was just fighting for her own happiness."
"She could be happy here." Trunks said bitterly. "We have everything here."
"You really don't get it, do you?" Marron stood up. "It's not about here being a good or bad place. It's about being with the one she loves."
"Is it enough to give up her life here?"
"She didn't give up, she was kicked out." Marron snapped. "She didn't really have a choice, did she?"
"Marron, I…"
"I'm tired of having this conversation. We'll talk later."
With that, she started walking away.
.
Trunks winced in pain when he woke up the following morning. He couldn't shut down his brain, so he couldn't sleep at all, as his conversation with Marron was overplayed in his head all night. With a heavy sigh followed by a yawn, he jumped out of his bed and left his room.
"Good morning, sweetheart." Bulma said with a wide smile on her lips.
"Good morning." Trunks replied after putting a bunch of toasts on his plate and pouring himself a cup of black coffee.
"Tough night?"
"Huh?" He looked at her and raised his eyebrows for a couple of seconds. "Yeah, I think you can say that."
"Did something happen?"
"I was just… mom, do you think Bulla did the right thing?"
"Why this now? Did something happen?"
"No, nothing happened." He paused for about five seconds. "Actually, Marron and I were talking about her yesterday. I miss her."
"I miss her too." The blue haired goddess sighed deeply. "So, it looks like you and Marron have been spending a lot of time together lately, huh?"
"I… uh… I have no idea what you are talking about." Trunks blushed heavily and tried to talk it off.
"Of course you don't." She replied in a sarcastic tone and drank some more of her coffee. "You know, there's nothing wrong with you having feelings for her. It would make me very happy to see you as a couple."
"Marron would never look at me that way, mom." He said bitterly.
"Are you sure about that? I'd say it's very likely."
"Why? Do you know something I don't?"
"Let's just say women are more observant and intuitive than men when it comes to these things."
"I guess so." Trunks shrugged.
"Do you want another cup of coffee?"
"No, I'm good. You can finish it."
"Alright."
.
Trunks sat down on the edge of a cloud and looked down towards the Earth. He couldn't stop thinking about Bulla and what he and Marron had talked about the day before, as well as his conversation with his mother. Could it really be possible that he saw Marron as more than just a friend? Sure, he found her pretty and amazing, but he also thought she would have much better options.
As if she was reading his mind, Marron arrived a few seconds later. Trunks could smell her perfume even before she stopped beside him. He was surprised at how fast his heart started beating because of her presence.
"Good morning, Trunks." The blond goddess said in her usual soft and cheerful tone.
"G-Good morning."
"Looks like it's gonna be a great day, huh?" She moved to sit on her usual cloud.
"Like all the other ones. We always have great days here."
"That's true." She decided to ignore his supposedly bitter remark.
"Marron, have you ever been in love?"
The words escaped his lips before he could even hold them, but to his surprise, he realized he didn't regret asking that at all.
"If I have ever been in love?" She repeated after she took her time to absorb the question. She felt her face become a little red. "I think only once, not too long ago."
Trunks was taken by surprise with her answer. He certainly wasn't expecting her answer to be something like this. So what was he expecting?
"Have you?"
"I…" He stopped talking for a moment, not sure of his own answer. He thought he had, but now he wasn't so sure anymore. "I don't know."
"Was there ever anyone you had strong feelings for?"
"There wasn't, no. There is."
Marron felt her heart beating faster even before he finished his sentence. Part of her hoped he was referring to her, but the other one told her to stop being delusional, that there was no way he could ever like her the way she liked him. But then she was surprised by his hand on her chin. Trunks slowly turned her face towards him and their blue eyes met. They looked at each other for some seconds before their heads started leaning over, and soon their lips touched.
