Day 2 - Moon: Under The Moonlight
Trunks and Marron visit Bulla on Earth and the blonde receives a surprise question.
.
A warm breeze disheveled Trunks' hair, but he didn't seem to mind. He couldn't help but think the air on the Earth was much warmer and heavier than in Heaven. A smile appeared on his lips when Bulla stopped beside him.
"A penny for your thoughts?"
"Huh?" He looked at her with his eyebrows raised, visibly confused.
"It's something humans say when they want to know what someone is thinking. I learned it from Goten." She chuckled and slightly shook her head.
"Oh, okay I guess." Trunks returned his attention back to the sea he was watching a few minutes ago.
"So what are you thinking?"
He shoved his hand into his pocket and grabbed a velvet dark blue square box. Before Bulla could even ask what it was, though she had a clue, her brother opened it and revealed a very delicate golden ring with a few small stones around it.
"Wow, Trunks! It's so beautiful! Are you gonna propose to Marron?"
"Yes, I am." He confirmed. "I feel ready to take that step. I want to spend the rest of my life with her."
"Took you long enough." A smile appeared on her lips.
"What is that supposed to mean?" He looked at her with his eyebrows raised.
"It means my brother finally saw what was right in front of him." She stuck her tongue at him.
"Fine, I think I deserve that."
"In all seriousness, I'm happy for you two. You are perfect for each other."
"Thank you, Bulla. I hope I can make her as happy as she makes me."
"I'm sure you will. In fact, you already do."
Trunks looked at her and smiled, feeling his shoulders relax.
"It means a lot that you are so supportive."
Bulla leaned towards him and hugged him tight. "I'm glad you feel this way."
"So you and the Earthling, huh?"
"What about him?" She asked more harshly than she intended to, afraid of the direction that conversation was going.
"Nothing. You just seem happy."
"I am." Her expression softened and she smiled.
.
Marron put a lock of her long blond hair behind her ear as she enjoyed the warm night breeze during a stroll in West City with Trunks. She couldn't help but notice the temperature on Earth was much hotter than in Heaven.
"Don't you just love being down here?" She asked as she glanced at the dark sea on her right; the cold sand tickling her feet.
"It's alright." Trunks shrugged. "There's no place like heaven, though."
The blonde goddess didn't say a word, and he knew he had pissed her off.
"I'm sorry."
"I thought you'd at least be happy to see Bulla after so long."
"I am. It's just… I don't know, it'll take me a while to fully get used to this. But, I'm enjoying being here with you."
"I am too."
"I'm happy to know that." Trunks sighed deeply and was surprised to feel her fingers intertwined with his.
They went to a park nearby and sat down on a bench near a few fully blossomed trees. Marron couldn't help but stare at the flowers, thinking how pretty they were. Trunks couldn't keep his eyes off her. Then he picked a purple flower from a tree and gently put it in her ear. She blushed a little with his gesture.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome." He felt his own cheeks blushing too. "You look even prettier."
"Aww, thanks." She felt a little embarrassed and her cheeks became a little redder. "This place is so beautiful, isn't it?"
"Yes, yes it is. The Earth has some beautiful places, I must admit. I'd love to come down here more often."
"Wait, what?" Marron blinked a couple of times to understand it. "You'd love to come here more often?"
"Yeah, I've just said it has some beautiful places."
"I heard it, I'm just surprised."
"I bet." Trunks took a deep breath and shoved his hand into his pocket, to grab a small dark blue box. He tightened his fingers around it, to keep it hidden for a couple more minutes.
"Should we go back?"
"Okay, but first…" He grabbed her hand in an impulse and Marron looked at him with her eyebrows raised.
"Trunks, is everything alright?"
"It is, but…" He took a deep breath, avoiding looking at her. Then he got down on one knee and grabbed her hand softly.
"What… what are you doing?" She looked around to see if there was anyone staring at them. Her cheeks were burning from embarrassment.
"Marron…" He continued; his blue eyes finally meeting hers. "Will you give the honor of being my wife?"
"I…" A large smile formed on her lips when the question finally sank in. "Yes! Yes, I do!"
Trunks put the ring on her finger and then stood up. Marron cupped his face and kissed him passionately as soon as he stood in front of her. He returned the kiss right away; both of them cherishing the moment.
.
Bulla jumped out of the sofa she was lying down on as soon as the front door of her house opened.
"I was thinking you two got lost." She said as she approached them; she was discreetly trying to see if there was a ring on Marron's finger and had to contain a scream when she found it.
"We were just enjoying the night stroll before we go back home tomorrow."
"I can't believe you are leaving already."
"Yes, but we still have some time before that." Marron said, not bothering to hide her smile at all. She purposely lifted her hand to show off her ring. "But guess what? We just got engaged!"
"Oh my God, Marron!" Bulla finally released the scream she was holding and hugged her best friend tight. "I'm so happy for you!"
"Thank you, Bulla." The blonde replied excitedly. "I can barely believe I'm getting married."
"Well, believe it, it's true."
"Where's Goten?" Trunks looked around, searching for the Earthling.
"I think he's at his house. We don't live together, if that's what you're wondering."
"I'm not wondering anything." He simply shrugged, with a frown.
"Do you want some tea or anything else to drink?"
"Tea for me, please."
"I'm cool, thank you."
"Water then." Bulla said, more to herself than anything. Then she couldn't help but smile, thinking she knew her brother way too well.
She threw him a water bottle and walked into the living room carrying her and Marron's cups of tea.
"Thank you." The blond goddess grabbed her cup with both her hands. "It smells good."
"Well, tea has been my specialty since… you two seem really happy with each other." Bulla changed the subject with a light shake of her head.
"We really are." Marron rested her head on Trunks' shoulder and smiled happily.
