Neb: The X Men are now allowed to attend school, but is this a victory? With the strength of mutant friends growing, enemies grow as well. People who fear what the power wielding menaces can do. People who fear what is different. I do not own X-Men Evolution.

Ricky was walking back from school to the institute. School was uneventful, do to most of everyone won't talk to him as a mutant, but he could change his day by helping with the finishing the touches on the institute. Most of it was fixed sense Mystique blew it up, but Ricky wasn't sure how he should feel about it due to never living there before. It will be a change of pace, and maybe Jessica and the other students will come back.

Ricky looked through the window of an antique shop and saw a guy with a gun pointing it at the owner. Ricky grunted as he decided he'd phase himself through the back. Hopefully his powers work this time, he can't keep phasing in an out of places as well as Kitty can. He made his way into the store and put on his smiling mask and covering the rest of his head with his hoodie. after he fully phased through the wall he grabbed what appeared to be a fencing foil. "This could work as a weapon if things get out of hand. Maybe I can use my powers on it like I do my hands."

"Listen, give me everything in the register," the man with the gun yelled. "And all the jewelry in that case, now!"

"Alright," the store owner spoke up. "Just don't hurt me."

"Hey, take it easy man," Vibrant spoke up and the man turned his gun to him.

"Stay back freak!"

"That's not nice," Vibrant chuckled through his mask. He put the man in stasis and walked forward. "This was easy." he grabbed the gun out of his hand before another man came around the corner with a rifle.

"Mutant," the man yelled as he fired it at Ricky. Ricky managed to block the bullet with his foil as the weapon started vibrating in stasis like his body parts usually do. The man looked at him and shock before receiving a kick to the chest causing him to fly back. Ricky caught the second man in stasis keeping him from hitting the ground or breaking anything.

"Any more of them," Vibrant asked the store owner who shook his head. Vibrant nodded before drop kicking the first guy and then punching the second one so they were out cold. He then gently lowered the second guy to the ground and then turned to the store owner. "Have a good day sir." Vibrant moved to exit the store.

"Wait," the shop keeper spoke up. "You can keep the foil as a reward." Vibrant looked at him and then nodded.

"Thank you sir." Vibrant exited the back of the store and took off his mask and lowered his hoodie. "Yea, I like this change."

Ricky was practicing in the front yard of the mansion with his new foil. They had machines firing beanbags at him as he cut through each of them by vibrating the particles on his fencing weapon.

"Training hard I see," Logan grinned as he and Hank Mccoy headed over to him.

"Can never train too much," Ricky smiled at them.

"Well perhaps you will enjoy some of my training then," Wolverine grinned at him, yet Vibrant smiled back causing Wolverine to grunt. "Hey kid, you can be open and honest with us now that your on the team. Do you feel like we're friends, or do you still think of us as enemies?"

"That's a tough question really," Vibrant replied. "I'd have to say I think of our team as weird. Fighting Juggernaut and my former Brotherhood friends was a nice bonding experience, but not enough to warm up... what I'm trying to say is, give me some time."

"Take as much time as you need," Beast spoke up. "Your in no rush in our family."

"You see," Vibrant began. "Using those words will lose me. I joined you guys a couple weeks ago, I'm not ready to call you guys family."

"Come on kid," Wolverine chuckled. "We'll see how well your duelist weapon handles when your running through the woods."

"I look forward to it," Vibrant smiled. Another bean bag fired at him and he stabbed right through it and then used his power to put the machine in stasis before walking over and turning it off.

"Not bad," Beast grinned. Wolverine sniffed the air and then grinned.

"Bratwursts are being grilled tonight."

"Awesome," Vibrant grinned as they headed back to the mansion.

The X-Men were all eating in the fully repaired dining room of the mansion. Kitty phased through the table to get a better grab at each dish. "Oh come on, wait your turn," Kurt complained. Ricky grinned as he had a dinner roll float up in the air with his stasis power to grab at, but Jean used her telekinesis to grab it first.

"No fair Grey," Ricky grinned.

"All is fair in love and war White," Jean giggled. Summers scowled at them and then started to serve himself.

"Glad to see your all having a good time," Jessica grunted as she entered the room. Everyone became quite at that.

"Jessica," Kurt grinned as he appeared right next to her. Several of the other X-Men went over to her, while Ricky stayed seated next to Rogue and Spyke.

"Jessica, I'm glad your here to join us," Xavier smiled. "Did your parents decide to let you come back?"

"No, I left them," she responded with a smile causing the Professor to scowl. "I don't need them, this is my family."

"Jessica, we are more then happy to have you come back, but this is a dangerous time for you to be here without your parents permission."

"I don't care what they think," she growled. "This is my family now."

"Jessica, the Professor is right," Ricky explained. "This is a bad time for mutants, we don't need parents feeling like we'll take their kids away from them."

"You just got here," she yelled at him. "I invited you so many times, why are you here now?!" Ricky grunted for a second and then smiled.

"I'm here now because I want to be accepted."

"You can't be," Jessica screamed. "Everything that has happened is because of you. If it wasn't for you I would have stopped Magneto."

"He's gone," Ricky defended himself.

"Is he? I don't see a body."

"I'm sorry about what I did," Ricky apologized. "I didn't mean to upset you."

"Well you did," she yelled. "Everything you have done so far was hurt me. I offered to be with you when Magneto first came, I asked you to join us when Avalanche did, and I even stayed with my parents so you could get settled in here. You don't care about me, your evil!"

"Jessica, calm down," Storm yelled. "I'm calling your parents." Ricky stood up from his chair, but fell to the ground as his leg began vibrating. Then he felt himself fall into another seizure as he tried to breathe.

"Not again."
