I do not own X Men. This is a fanfic.

It had been several hours until Ricky finally came to. He was in a hospital bed several flowers near by him. He grunted as he tried to get up.

"Don't move yet," his doctor spoke up. "I had already contacted your mother."

"Witch one," Ricky rolled his eyes. His third mom, Mrs. Powers lost the custody battle against him, so it was probably not her. "The Whelan family is coming for me," he figured.

"Actually she said her name was Mrs. Miles," the doctor explained.

Ricky's eyes widened after that. That was his birth mother. Why was she coming to see him and why was she using her maiden name instead of her husband's last name. "Welp, time to go," Ricky decided as he got out of bed.

"I wouldn't recommend that Mr. White," the doctor explained. "We've run a few blood tests and confirmed that you are a mutant. Which means the government would like to speak with you as well."

"I work for the government," Ricky pointed out. He wasn't an official shield agent, but Fury did hire him by contract. "Look, I'll talk to them when I've got a report written. Otherwise, it's time for me to bounce." He headed for the door and opened it despite his doctor's wishes. That was when he saw an elder lady with brown hair and green eyes wearing a nun outfit.

"Hello Ricky," she spoke up.

Ricky sighed angrily. "Becky Barnes," Ricky responded. "Or should I say Becky Miles."

"Yes," Becky smiled. "I no longer am married to Barnes. He divorced me after he did some digging into my dating life. He won't accept you as his son anymore."

"Good," Ricky laughed. "The feeling is mutual."

"It was hard for me to remember every man I dated back when I lived in New York, but I will say there were only a few possible answers to who your real father is."

"Why are you telling me this?", Ricky yelled. "I thought you didn't want me."

"I wasn't mentally well enough to have you," she argued. "I didn't know what a mutant was, I thought my son was replaced with a monster. I see that isn't the case anymore. Barnes.. well he's a stubborn old fool, but I see that there are more of you out there. That I wasn't cursed to have a demon for a son, but was given two beautiful angels instead." She held up the news paper with a picture of Warren flying around saving people.

"Warren's mutant power is literally being an angel though," Ricky growled. "I don't have wings mom, my powers aren't symbolic in any was shape or form. Not like Angel or Cyclopes. Now leave me alone. Maybe I would have turned into Warren if my own mother didn't scream monster at me when I was a small child."

"I told you," Mrs. Miles spoke up. "I'm sorry. If you won't forgive me, that's fine. But I understand you better now. I know we'll never be a family again. Jessica's new parents will make sure of that, but I can at least send you in the right direction of finding a new one."

"I don't need a family," Ricky growled under his breath, feeling Vibrant take over again. It's been a while since the idea of having a family made his gut turn inside out.

"His name is Carter Bradford," she went out. A man with black hair and blue eyes like yours. "Though, he looks a lot different from when I dated him."

"Are you saying this Carter is my real father?"

"I'm saying he is now revealed to be a mutant," she sighed. "And yes, I did have a fling with him before your father and I were married. I was scared of settling down when I was young."

"I'm going to stop you right there," Ricky groaned. "How many guys did you sleep with before you said I do?"

"Three before and one after," she explained. "Carter is the only lead I have for you. I'll let you decide whether you want to visit him or not."
