Author's Note: This story takes place a few decades before Naruto: The Last. Around the time when Minato and Kushina were kids.
The season was spring and the day was sunny. The cherry blossoms had bloomed and fallen from the trees.
Kushina Uzumaki-a foreign girl whom is mocked and bullied for her red hair... cannot catch a break from boys.
After chasing away a Genin that was at least five years her senior, Kushina Uzumaki had suddenly noticed a young Minato Namikaze standing in a tree on her right. They stared at each other for a moment, until Kushina had gotten the wrong idea. She had ran off into the cherry blossom woods before Minato could explain himself to her.
Kushina had then stared at the Hokage Monument, which had carved faces of the first three Hokage. Hashirama Senju, Tobirama Senju and the current Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi. She had stared and frowned. 'I never wanted to become the Hokage. I just want to make this my home... I just... wanted to be accepted by everyone!' Kushina had thought while wiping away her tears.
After staring at the monument for a moment... Kushina had suddenly begun to hear humming. She silently gasped. 'What's that noise?'
Kushina could hear it coming from her left side. So, she turned her head left and saw nothing on the ground. She had then slowly looked upward at the top of the trees. Where the humming was coming from. And when she did, she gasped.
There was a person. A young boy around Kushina's age with neck length long and spiky snow white hair and pale white skin-just sitting casually on a cherry blossom tree branch. Staring upward at the Hokage Monument. This mysterious person was wearing a pair of black pants, sandals and a yellow hoodie.
"Uh?" Kushina had stared at the mysterious person from ten o'clock. She was staring at his right backside. She had become suspicious of the mysterious person. She didn't know if he was going to bully her or not.
"It's nice, isn't it?" The mysterious person had said.
"What?" Kushina had asked as she kept staring at the mysterious boy.
"Music. It enlightens the heart. It is the greatest achievement that Earthlings ever made, besides Ninshuu." The mysterious person had said.
"Uh..." Kushina had felt a bit timid as she listened to him speak. She had then taken a single step backward.
The mysterious boy had heard Kushina take a single step back through his ears. Deapite sitting a few dozen feet above her. "There's no need to be afraid of me. I won't harm you or your precious red hair..." The mysterious boy had then turned his head to the right and smiled down at her. "Kushina Uzumaki."
Kushina had silently gasped when she saw the mysterious boy's face. His face looked pretty normal. But what had caught her off guard... was the boy's eyes. The boy's eyes were a light blue flower. Inside of the boy's pupils had almost formed a blue flower. In fact... the mysterious boy had inherited one of the most powerful Dōjutsu. Known as the Tenseigan.
"Y... you know who I am?" Kushina had asked, a little confused.
"Of course. I've heard about you. You're the famous "Red-Hot Habanero" who beats up all the boys that taunt you and your beautiful red hair." The mysterious boy said.
"Ah..." Kushina just stared at the mysterious boy for a second. Until, something had clicked in her mind. "Wait... what did you just say?"
"Hm? That you were the Red-Hot Habanero?" The mysterious boy had repeated.
"No. After that. About my hair..." Kushina asked.
"You mean, about your beautiful red hair?" The mysterious boy had quoted.
"Yes. That. You really think my hair is beautiful?" Kushina had asked as she had grabbed a small batch of her own red hair?"
"I do. To me, it's like a waterfall flowing of pure beauty. Nothing can compare to it." The mysterious person had responded. He had thought of a river.
Up to this moment, Kushina Uzumaki had nothing but bad experiences with people from Konoha. The first thing most people would do is taunt her for her red hair. Calling her a tomato. But after meeting this mysterious person within less than a minute... she had begun to feel happiness. In her mind, she felt that this was the start of her journey of acceptance. Her chest had tightened. "Um... thank you very much." Kushina had smiled and blushed.
"No problem." The mysterious boy had closed his eyes and smiled, temporarily.
Kushina had openly smiled and blushed toward the mysterious boy for a moment. And then, something had came to her mind. "Um..."
"What is it?" The mysterious boy had asked.
"If you don't mind me asking... who are you?" Kushina had asked as she stared at the pale boy.
"Oh?" The mysterious boy had chuckled a second. "Pardon me. Where are my manners? For starters, my name is Shinzo. Of the Tsukiko Clan." The mysterious boy had revealed his personal name and the name of his Clan.
"Shinzo... of the Tsukiko Clan?"
"Yes." Shinzo had nodded. "And just like you, Kushina. I, too, am an exchange student from a foreign place-whom will be transferring to the Konoha Academy. Starting tomorrow." The mysterious boy had revealed his name to be Shinzo.
"Shinzo..." Kushina had muttered. She had then gasped when she had witnessed Shinzo flip from a tree and land on his feet, perfectly. Like an athletic gymnastic. She had then watched Shinzo approach slowly her.
The two had stood between each other. Leaving nothing but a one foot distance between one another.
"Let's be friends, shall we?" Shinzo had stretched his right hand forward. Offering a hand shake to Kushina.
Kushina had stared at Shinzo's hand for a second. Then, he gaze transitioned from his right hand to his eyes. She was staring at the pair of blue Tenseigan within his eyes. After a few seconds, Kushina had agreed and grasped Shinzo's hand. "Right! The best friends!"
Author's Note: My OC Shinzo was inspired by Kaworu Nagisa from Neon Genesis Evangelion. And, the song my character was humming when he met Kushina was the same song that Kaworu was humming, when he met Shinji. The next chapter will explain Shinzo's backstory and how he received the Tenseigan will be revealed in the next chapter.
Also, I will change some Naruto lore. I decided to change the name of Toneri's Clan / Species on the moon from Ōtsutsuki to Tsukiko, which means, "Moon Children in Japanese. Just so people won't be confused with the pure Ōtsutsuki Clan, like Kaguya and Momoshiki.
