THE BUU SAGA, part 7

A single place on Earth wasn't enough for this fight; they needed the entire planet. One second they were at a forest; next they would be flying by buildings of an empty city, or crashing against the ice mountain in the north pole. The Earth itself was just jelly for them to ram through. The planet wasn't strong enough to stop their unstoppable force. From a far it looked like a yellow and pink thunderbolt were fighting all over the planet at the same time, flying around the world over and over. Gohan needed to end this before the Earth was beyond repair, but his power matched Buu so perfectly, it was an impossible task. Buu tried to absorb him but the trick won't work twice on a wiser opponent. The Z-sword was cutting through Majin Buu like butter, but his regeneration abilities made it worthless. How is it going to make a difference?
But during the fight, Gohan would constantly hear voices in his head from Tapion, telling him to try rendering Buu to a state of weakness, so then they can move him to the next step and seal him inside of the Z Sword forever.
Boku managed to get a few seconds with Gohan, and he explained that Buu never gets weak or tired at all. But there was one moment, after Goten had fought him in his Great Ape form, where Buu seemed scared for his life; it was the most weakness he had ever shown. But surely it wasn't because Goten was stronger than him, since he didn't show fear when he fought 35 or Videl. It finally hits him. Buu wasn't afraid of the power; he was afraid of the giant enemy. He was in fear of the darkness that had built up; he was in fear of the big red eyes. Boku understood; Buu was still just as childish as a baby, and had the same fears as one. The only way to make Buu weak is by making him scared. Thankfully, Gohan knew the perfect place to bring around your worst nightmares. And so Gohan suddenly grabbed Buu by his throat and dragged him along to the other side of the planet. Once again to Dende's lookout.
Buu was now thrown into another room in basically the same fashion. Gohan entered as well, only to close the door and leave Buu in a silent dark void. He lowered his energy and watched what kind of things the room of illusions would bring towards Buu. First… storms, and visions of strange creatures roaming in the dark. Buu would fire at them but it would hit nothing. In his fail attempt to leave the room, he eventually found Gohan wielding the Z-Sword. But there was one difference; Gohan was really huge. He was easily ten times the size he usually was; almost like the great ape. Buu was confused and frightened; what happened to him? Now he looked around and saw a haunting sight. He was back inside that cocoon that had him locked for more than a million years. There was no way out, and just as he realized that the giant Gohan attacked him. Being in a fight he can't win, in a battle that he can't escape, against an enemy too big for him to absorb; Buu was drooling out of fright. He started begging for Gohan to stop; he would get on his knees even. Above all else Buu feared being punished for his actions and locked away. In that moment where he was shaking in distress, Tapion spoke to Gohan once again. "Now is the time! Settle the sword on the ground and I'll do the rest!"
Gohan plunged the sword into the floor and held tight to it. The energy that was suddenly released was enough to break the room, shattering the illusion. They were back to a dark and empty room, and Gohan returned to his normal size. A bright light took over the sword, and it's full power was put to display. Buu was left dumbfounded, and that quickly turned to anger. But before he could do anything else, the sparkling light shot out of the Z-Sword and hit Buu. It started to forcefully drag him towards it; enveloping his body and pulling with the full power of Gohan. It was working; that was gonna be the end of it. Buu would be sealed away in the Z Sword forever.
However one thing that Tapion, old Kai and Gohan didn't account for was the sheer level of this battle. To put it simply, nothing in this universe was made with the prospect of accommodating such huge powers; not even the gods. To think Frieza was once thought to be the strongest in the universe, and now everyone can see a fight between two beings that are hundreds of times stronger than that. Their clash was shattering reality.
Just as Buu was mere inches from touching the blade and being sealed in yet another endless prison, he finally broke. This treachery will not be his downfall. And so he started to unleash his full power with a scream. A desperate final explosion. Everything around him exploded in a light that almost consumed the world. Gohan was blinded, and only braced, expecting the worst.

The lookout was completely devastated; all that remained was dust and rubble falling to the land below. Gohan was knocked out for a moment, waking up on the ground. Something felt wrong; he looked down to his hands and saw… the Z-sword, broken. All that was left was the handle. Tapion spoke into Gohan's head again, and said that the absolute strain of their powers was too much for the sword. Their plan had failed.
As the smoke settles, Gohan looks ahead to see Super Buu again, smiling. The blade of the broken sword was in his hand, and he was juggling in front of Gohan to humiliate him. Buu didn't even think twice, he proceeded to throw the sword towards the sky with all his strength. It left the boundaries of Earth in a split second, and was fast through space. No more sword, no more problems.
"Forgive me, young warrior, but you'll have to defeat this monster in another way. I'll try to maintain my power within you for as long as I can." Tapion said. Gohan then threw the sword handle to the ground and got into his stance. He doesn't care; it surely doesn't make him any less pissed. Now he has to annihilate Buu with the full power of the Super Saiyan. No time to waste; the two go back to rumble right away.

Eerie darkness, walls of pink mush. Buu's insides made no rhyme or reason, but they were organized at the very least. All the people Buu recently absorbed were left in the same room, encapsulated by pink pulsating cocoons connected to the floor and ceiling. Videl, Dina, Goten, and also Android 35. However, the ladder wouldn't remain the same for very long. The time was up, and he was suddenly awakened from his coma.
17 and 18's fusion came undone, separating their bodies with a shock wave that freed them from the cocoon. They look around and find themselves in this horrible place.
On the outside, Gohan was getting beaten and bruised now that the Z-sword's power was dwindling. Buu had the advantage and didn't waste time attacking with killing intent. He tried to absorb Gohan, but he was already anticipating Buu would use this move again, and managed to dodge and counter attack. The burning ki of the Superior Saiyan was enough to pulverize Buu if he approached in his fragile absorption blob form. Things weren't looking good, Gohan was bleeding while Buu was still completely fine.
However, lady luck decides to strike the Z-warriors for a change.
Gohan witnessed Buu suddenly stop and look desperately at his chest. Something went wrong inside him; his power shot down immensely. The demon could feel all that power slip through his finger. He had to kill Gohan before it went down again, so he rushed him down. Now the odds were evened out again.
17 and 18 weren't given time to think about what just happened. The walls and floor suddenly attacked, trying to swallow their bodies. However, 17 was quicker. He pulled his sister close and surrounded the two in his barrier. They watched as the tentacles tried to break and surround the green sphere, but it didn't work.
"I still don't know why he didn't give me this stupid barrier." 18 said.
"It was either the barrier or double D cups, you made your choice-Ow!" 17 was saying until she hit him with her elbow really hard. "Alright, let's just get the hell out of here!"
17 undid his barrier and the twins unleashed hell around them, blasting all the tentacles until everything stopped moving. Now in a moment of silence, they realize the others were imprisoned just beside them. They sweep the tendrils clean off and release Videl, Dina and Goten from their cocoons, but they remain unconscious. No matter where they touched they could feel the energy being drained by the surface. They needed to get the hell out of Buu as fast as possible. 17 carried the others while 18 blasted everything that moved. The inside of Majin Buu was a complete maze, they were running endlessly in the darkness.
But to their luck, they ended up encountering a guide. Dende was still alive and well inside of Buu, and he has been rescuing every single candy people inside there. He was shocked to see everyone there, but he could also feel Gohan fighting Buu outside, so things must be alright still. 17 asks that Dende help them leave, but he can't do that. Not yet. There's someone left for them to save, and so they continue running through the maze. Thankfully Dende could sense energy and didn't get lost. The battle between Gohan and Buu was getting worse so they had to hurry.
They blasted and fought their way to the core of Buu, where he held a very important piece. It was there where the heart was supposed to be; hundreds of pink tendrils all connecting to this one simple object. A pack of gum; THE pack of gum that once was fat Buu. Dende wanted to rescue him as well, knowing that after all he did change his heart in the end. Dende went ahead and ripped it out of its place.

On the outside Buu was still winning against Gohan, but the Saiyan was so damn nettled that despite his damage he would not back down or even flinch; he kept fighting as if his wounds were nothing. It seemed to pay off, Buu was getting noticeably weaker now that he lost deep connection with the warriors inside of him. Once he felt that someone was blasting his insides and stole fat Buu from his place, he decided to set his foot down. He punched Gohan in the face, sending him deep into the earth. And so Buu put all his focus on the inside.
17, 18 and Dende watched as a perfect copy of Buu just emerged through the wall of pink. It carried all his power with it, and he used it to rough up the androids and the Namekian; they couldn't fight back. Buu was going to take control once again.
However, someone was observing the fight outside. Boku was waiting for an opportunity to help, and there it was. Dende must have succeeded in escaping, and Buu is concentrating on taking them back. He needed to draw Buu's attention back to outside. The boy quickly made a Soukidan and began attacking Majin Buu. His desperate attack worked, waking him up. Buu couldn't fight inside and outside at the same time. 17, 18 and Dende took the opportunity to make a run for it. Boku tried to keep him entertained but quickly got slapped off and sent crashing below. Buu tried again, but now Gohan is back. His Super Saiyan hair was flickering on and off as he was close to passing out. He used his absolute last for one raging offense, ripping Buu apart with his punches.
The trapped warriors were gunning for the exit, punching and blasting holes to get quicker through Buu's system. The dimension inside of him started to collapse, erasing the path behind them as they ran. Finally the sacrifices made outside paid off, as they could see sunlight at last. The three jump for it, leaving no one behind.

They exit through one of Majin Buu's head holes. Once they left the dimension that resides inside of Buu, they instantly reverted back to their normal size. 17, 18, Dende, Goten, Dina and Videl were alive; beaten to near death but very much alive. They all woke up at the same time and looked up to see Buu and… blond Gohan? Seeing their faces again made his anger vanished; his golden hair disappearing as he reached the limits of his body. Somehow they all pulled through alive. It was all hugs until Dende called their attention.
"Everyone! Look!"

Something was going wrong with Buu. They took everything from within him, down to his core. Not only had all his previous power had faded away, but also he was weaker than before. The shock through his system caused a chain reaction, and his body began to change. With nothing else left… Buu could only go back to his most primordial form. Kid Buu.
He shrunk to less than half his original height. Somehow that didn't make him any less menacing; his terrifying eyes were perfectly clear. In his primordial form Buu could only understand hatred. The pathetic creatures messed, tortured and mocked him all throughout the past two days. His losses were constant, and his victories short lived. In his anger he took a final decision. This planet is no longer fun or worth his time.
Buu raised his hand, and instantly created a huge ki bomb above his head. No words, not even a look of acknowledgment to the other warriors. He simply tossed it at full speed towards the Earth. Needless to say, nobody expected it at all. Not even at his most dastard did Buu resort to total destruction. The ball of pink energy was mere seconds from piercing through the earth, but thankfully someone arrived just in time.
Kibito used Kai-kai to teleport there. In his hand he held the broken sword blade that Buu had tossed in space; he went to fetch it all this time. He held it above his hand, using it to block the incoming ki bomb. The sword was strong enough to bounce the attack far away in the atmosphere, where it exploded. He saved the world in a pinch. Buu was pissed, he was about to do it again but harder, but Kibito flew up in the sky and shouted at him.
"Hear me you dull-witted monster! Countless warriors with great courage put their lives at risk and sacrificed their lives to keep this planet safe. I will not allow you to harm it any longer!"
Kibito said he was the last Supreme Kai of this universe. Buu was created with the specific purpose of killing him, so he believes it's fair that the two have their long-awaited battle. The challenge enticed Kid Buu, and he rushed towards Kibito. He took a few hits but managed to take a hold of Buu's arms. Kibito didn't want the mortals to suffer with this problem any longer; Buu was too dangerous. And so he held his grip tightly and said, "Kai-kai!"
The two were instantly teleported to the other world, back to the planet of the Kais. All the strong winds, light and mood disappeared along with them. The Z-warriors were left in utter silence. The blue skies ahead bring forth the end of this nightmare. By accounts they did it, right? They won.

Dende was the first to act afterwards. He felt something wiggling in his pocket; it was the bubblegum pack. He threw it to the floor and it started vibrating even harder. Soon enough it puffs into smoke, and the sleeping fat Majin Buu appears in its place. While the others assumed max guard, Dende went ahead and woke him, extending his hand so then Buu could get up. He started throwing compliments at Buu, and he immediately liked Dende. All the evil had detached itself from Majin Buu, literally. Now he was just one big good boy, who was very glad to see all the strong fighters of yesterday again.
"Mr. Buu, could you by any chance have eaten one of my special orange balls? It would make me very thankful if you gave it back." Dende said. Buu immediately reached inside his own stomach with his hand and pulled the dragon ball out. It tasted awful anyways. Finally, things are looking up to them.
Dende then reached deep into his pockets, picking up a handful of candies that he had found inside of Majin Buu. He threw them on the floor as well and used his powerful magic to turn them back to their original forms. Bulma, Launch, Chi-chi, Oolong, Puar, Mr. Popo, and also Korin with Yajirobe; all of them got up from the ground in a daze, having most of their life force absorbed by Buu. The three ladies were not given time to rest, as suddenly their children attacked them with a surprise hug, crying profusely. These hardened warriors who have seen hell and back today, they now returned to being three little kids who missed their mothers above all else. Mr. Satan soon came running to see his daughter, and the two share a hug
The warriors of Earth could only celebrate now; the nightmare is over. As unsatisfactory as it was, their battle was done. There was just one person who seemed to be out of it. Gohan was looking on to the sky where Kibito and Buu disappeared. Even now he could feel their familiar energies battling in the other world. Dende walked over to his friend and started healing the bloody wound that crippled his arm. Videl said, "This isn't right… don't you think?"
"It's not over." he said. Gohan stood up once fully healed. He took a deep breath and looked back to his friends. "I promised that I would destroy Buu… and that's what I'm going to do."
He put his two fingers on his forehead and looked at Videl, Goten and Chi-chi. He gave them a smile before waving goodbye."I'll be back!" And so he disappeared before Videl could reach him. "Gohan you-! MORON!"

Kibito had a plan. Once in the other world, he tried to bring Buu out of the planet and into the division between heaven and hell, in the hopes of kicking him down the yellow clouds and trapping him there forever. He succeeded, but Buu was far too tenacious, and had all the skill necessary to fuel his pursuit. He easily managed to plunge a hole through the dimensions with his scream and continue to fight Kibito. He beat the god down to near death, however Kid Buu also refused to absorb him. The little demon came to realize that absorbing his opponents changed his personality in a drastic way; the first time it turned him into a fat oaf, the second he became an overconfident idiot, and that almost got him killed by Tenshinhan and defeated twice by weaker foes. He wants to be himself now, no master, no rules, no goals. He just wants to fight like he was born to do.
He was about to give the finishing blow to Kibito when suddenly he was kicked far away. Gohan came back, determined to finish his fight once and for all. He won't allow Kibito to die; he has no sword, his Super Saiyan rage died down, but he is still confident. Kid Buu lost a bunch of his power so now he might have a chance.
Gohan continued on to fight the monster, using the Kaioken to make up the difference that is still big between them. Buu didn't lose any of his skill and trickiness, just his size. This battle was going to take a while.

"I can believe that son of a- ugh! Why does he- Who does he think he is!" Videl was having a little episode of anger while everyone watched in silent fear. She wanted to go help Gohan but there was no one in this group who knew how to reach the other world. She's as good as stuck. But then she realized Fat Buu was just sitting there playing with stones and dirt. She got a hold of him by his shoulders and said, "Hey, you're magic, aren't you? Can't you take me to where Gohan went, please?"
"uuuuuuuuuuuuuu- sure!" Buu remembered he can do it. He got up and unleashed an ear-shattering scream into the air, tearing apart reality for a brief moment. He managed to make a small hole portal to the other world, so he grabbed Videl by the arm and together they jumped in. Just like that Videl was back to the world of the Kais. She hugs Buu really tight for the favor and immediately blasts after the fight.
Gohan and Kid Buu's fight was interrupted when Videl called out for them. He was surprised to see her there. She didn't attack Buu, she dashed over in order to slap Gohan in the face, "you idiot, how could you leave me behind! This is my fight too, don't you dare ever do this again!"
Gohan had the red mark of her palm in his face. "Goodness woman, when are you going to understand that I'm trying to protect you?!" he barked back for once.
"After everything that happened between us you thought I would just let you go kill yourself?! WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO UNDERSTAND THAT I LOVE YOU!" she said.
"I LOVE YOU TOO, WHY DID YOU THINK I DID IT?!" Gohan said.
Kid Buu was annoyed at being ignored, so goes ahead and hit the two idiots on the face so hard that they were sent flying. They quickly bounce back and try to fight him as a team, but Buu was still vastly superior. They couldn't hope to defeat him at this rate, they needed something else. Just as Kid Buu was getting the advantage, a sudden hero popped out to protect them.
Fat Buu made his entrance, he was fuming, and recognized Kid Buu as being the ultimate meanie who ate him earlier. He was raring for a rematch, so he took his evil counterpart far away to rumble. Gohan and Videl were left alone to think of something, soon being approached by Kibito.
Buu was too strong for any of them. Videl's Ultimate power is slowly dwindling back to normal; Gohan is too tired to use the Kaioken any further and Kibito ran out of ideas. To kill this monster they have to summon a power far above their own. But how?
Gohan began looking deep within his memories, and soon he found it.

Once upon a time, in a white void of time distortion, a little boy was training with his father in the hopes of matching his strength. Despite his early age he didn't disappoint, but there was more to being a warrior than just power. Goku passed on all his knowledge and moved to Gohan in the hopes of it being useful to him one day. One of those moves was the Spirit Bomb.
There wasn't much life form in the time chamber, so training with it was sparse. There was a small room dedicated to small pot plants that made up most of the air in the pocket dimension. Gohan had to learn how to communicate with nature and make a call for their help. He succeeded, but that was the first and only time Gohan ever grasped the technique.

Now it was time to put it in use. An attack that summons the energy of all willing beings that surround you, but how could it work here in the other world? He needed help from the outside; thankfully his friends were already on it. He was suddenly contacted by Dende using telepathy. He has been keeping up with his plan and tells Gohan to get it started. Dende will try to gather help. And so the Saiyan flies up and raises his hands to the sky. The only energy he could gather now was from the planet itself, but that won't be enough. He prays that Dende can do his part.

Now with all the seven dragon balls reunited on Earth, Dende finally managed to summon the dragon. "Rise, Rutamomo, and bring our dreams to life!"
The giant red dragon emerged from the light, and his presence covered the skies in dark shadows. The dragon seemed to have gotten even bigger since last time, and his sudden appearance almost made Mr. Satan pee himself. Rutamomo was willing to grant a wish for everyone, so Mr. Popo went ahead and said it.
"Almighty dragon, please allow master Dende to communicate with as many mortals in this universe as you can possibly reach." Popo said. The dragon accepted, and so he established a telepathic connection with everyone as far as the center of the universe. Suddenly Dende was a bit nervous, but he just let the words fly out.
"Hello, can you hear me?"
Suddenly every single person on every planet stopped walking, as they all heard the voice of an entity at the same time. Hundreds of billions of species, of all shapes and sizes.
"My name is Dende. I'm the guardian of planet Earth. I have called out this meeting between the collective consciousness of all souls who are willing to hear me. I beg for just a moment of your time.
Right now we find ourselves in crisis. An enemy powerful enough to threaten the gods and demons alike has awakened in our time. His power has risen above the strongest warriors in the universe. Our planet has been devastated, and the final battle is ensuing as I speak. This monster hellbent on destruction threatens not just Earth, but every person across the galaxies. Things are not looking good for us… but there is still hope. We have one final shot at our disposal, and for that we need the help of as many people as we can. I do not ask for your armies or your wealth, my only request… is that you raise your hands to the sky. Our ultimate weapon is being charged. Allow the energy to flow out of your fingers, and help us deliver the finishing blow!
I once watched my home, my brotherhood and my entire planet succumb to the evil acts of a malicious being. I do not wish for any other being in this universe to suffer this fate any longer. So please… Everyone, help us!"

The conclusion of that speech managed a very astounding feat. For a whole ten seconds, not a single being in the universe said a single word. The most charitable lifted their hands immediately, while the more cynical took their time discussing or refusing. Some other recognizable warriors from North and West galaxies, such as Broly, Raditz, Granolah, Pybara and Mamoto, have been sensing all the tremendous battles taking place on Earth. They did not waste time and gave up all the power they could muster.
The people of Earth itself were reluctant about the request. But to help, Mr. Satan made a 20 kilometer dash to the nearest city and demanded a global broadcast of himself. He told the people of Earth to do as instructed, so then he could gain enough motivation to kill Buu himself. And so the few remaining millions of people on Earth gave out their energy while screaming their hero's name into the sky. Of course, the warriors of Earth gave all the energy left in their bones to fuel this last Spirit Bomb.
Unfortunately, most of the energy was wandering aimlessly through space without being able to reach the other world. Kibito noticed this and immediately flew out to open a huge portal between the two dimensions. Then he ordered all the four King Kais to use their powers to guide the energy there. Soon enough, all the speckles of energy began crossing the portal and entering the Spirit Bomb. It was growing in power and size rapidly, but it was still not enough. Not to mention, time was up.
Suddenly, Fat Buu came crashing from above. Kid Buu was still noticeably stronger, so he served as nothing but a big fat punching bag for the past twenty minutes. He couldn't keep up any further. Now Kid Buu sets his sight back to Gohan, who's completely defenseless. But one last obstacle stood in his way. Videl was there.
"Gohan, get that thing ready and I'll try to hold him for as long as I can!"
Videl took the charge before Gohan could argue. She managed to fight equally with Kid Buu for a while, but eventually her Ultimate Ritual powers were over; her eyes lost the magical glow and reverted back to blue. Buu proceeded to beat the girl senselessly; not even biting was out of his book. Buu managed to hit her with a strong energy wave, causing an explosion that sent her to the ground bleeding. That amount of damage would put anyone down, but Videl had that dog in her. She ripped off the destroyed upper part of her gi and flimsy put her bloody fists up; eyes dead. "Where are you going? We are not done yet… Come on, are you scared?!"
Buu took the taunt and decided to rough her up a little more. This time he would make sure to break all her bones so she couldn't get up again. That bought Gohan the last minute he needed.

From every corner of the galaxy, all their hope and will was gathered into a single point. The energy emanating from it was unreal; the strongest Spirit Bomb ever made. Less than half of all the people who heard Dende's message were willing to help; but even so, its power grew to this point. The spirit bomb was as big as the planet itself. Gohan doesn't know if that will be enough, but there is no time. This will decide it.
"HEY, BUU!" he shouted from the skies. The demon heard it, and turned around to face him. The gigantic ball of blue energy froze Buu for a good moment. Kibito used that distraction to teleport in, take Videl and teleport out. Gohan continued, "THIS IS THE LAST THING I CAN OFFER YOU! IF YOU MANAGE TO STOP IT, THE UNIVERSE IS YOURS TO DO ANYTHING YOU WANT. WHAT DO YOU SAY?!"
Buu began puffing and beating his chest, laughing in excitement. He let out a powerful scream, inviting Gohan to try his luck. Of course Buu had no idea the power that the Spirit Bomb was packing, so he waited there with open arms. There's no way to dodge this anyway.
And so the Ultimate Spirit Bomb is unleashed towards the ultimate demon. From a far it looked like two planets about to collide. The entire other world went dark as the light overpowered anything else.

Despite the united power of so many people, Buu managed to hold the attack from reaching the ground. He was not sparing a single bit of his strength in the process; with Gohan pushing it down with all his might, they were left on this powerful stalemate. The other world was being shaken to its core. But in the end… all the power gathered there didn't matter. Buu was slowly pushing it back.
"Damn it… this can't be…!" Gohan mumbled. No matter how much he tried, they still needed more; a lot more. But there isn't anyone else alive who could help make up for this difference. This… can't end like this.

In that moment, the gates of heaven had opened wide.
Kibito and Videl could feel a rush of energy surging from Yenma's palace. The energy flew through his roof and blasted after the battle. Gohan was about to lose the struggle against Buu, when suddenly he felt it too. But to him… those energies were familiar. He was not mistaken… Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Chiaotzu and his father, Goku. The energy of the fallen warriors came through reality to aid Gohan in the final battle.
"Guys… you're still watching? Thank you…"
The extra energy attached itself to the Spirit Bomb, and instantly the ball nearly doubled in volume. There was a moment of silence between Buu and Gohan at that moment. He began speaking, "Buu… if you come back from this, we can continue fighting. But if you don't… I hope you learn something other than destruction, and become a better person like the other Buu. Maybe then we can be friends, and we can fight again…
See you later."
And so Gohan pressed down on Buu with the full strength of the new Ultimate Spirit Bomb. He screamed in anger as the energy pushed Buu through the ground, opening a massive trail of destruction. Buu screamed in absolute fear, still trying to push it back, but then he saw his hands being pulverized by the energy. Soon enough he was engulfed within the attack. He tried stretching out of there, but all his limbs were slowly disintegrating.
Molecule by molecule; the wondrous magic powers of Buu weren't enough to save him from ultimate power. From goo to dust, from dust to gas, from gas to nothing. Kid Buu was utterly destroyed down to his last atom.
With his demise, came an echo of peace throughout the universe…
And then the Spirit Bomb exploded, as the name would imply.

Half of the world of the Kais was destroyed in the process, but victory couldn't have arrived at a better cost. It is a miracle that it didn't blow up. A huge amount of dust covered the view after the explosion. Videl and Kibito stood to see the ultimate result.
There appeared Son Gohan, beaten and bloody, but victorious.
He gave them a thumbs up.
For the first time in a long while Gohan could see a look of sheer joy in Videl's face. She started running towards him as if her wounds didn't matter. She caught him with a flying hug, making Gohan spin to catch her.
"I think we can finally go home-" Gohan was saying.
Suddenly Videl holds his mouth shut and goes in for a kiss. A long and heartfelt embrace, deserving of the two who fought so much till here. Perhaps they can stay a little longer…

The warriors of Earth felt Buu's ki disappear after that struggle; Gohan won. The Dragon team celebrated until the man himself teleported there with Videl, Fat Buu and Kibito. He promised he would be back, and so Gohan took a little family hug with his mother and little brother. Truly, this moment couldn't be ruined.
"It is good that you came, we can still make a wish to the dragon." Dende said.
"What dragon?" said Videl. She turned around and saw the gigantic, unimaginable monster. Gohan stops her from screaming and quickly explains what it was in her ear. She has seen so much random crap today that a wish-granting dragon wasn't that shocking to her.
Dende went ahead and asked that Rutamomo fix all the destruction that happened in the past three days. The battle against Buu was far more costly and destructive than Cell was, and so it took the dragon some time. They felt the ground shake for a moment, and wildlife began growing back as it was. Cities appeared from the rubble, and even the lookout temple was restored. Some idiot accidentally blew up Mars so Rutamomo fixed that too. The rocky terrain became a blissful grassland. After a full minute it had been done; everything had been rebuilt exactly as they were. However, there was no one there to occupy them.

"Now hold on a minute!" Boku said. Everyone stopped and looked at him, he was serious. His vision was locked to fat Buu, who was just obliviously smiling. "What are we going to do about him?"
Indeed, Majin Buu was now a good boy, but he still killed millions of people not even a day ago. Mr. Satan tried to defend Buu despite it being completely inexcusable. But midway through their heated discussion, Buu understood that he had done something bad. He was willing to make up for that as long as they don't hate him anymore.
Buu walked over to the nearby empty field. He gathered a bunch of air inside of him as his body bloated. The warriors could feel a huge amount of power leaving Buu, and so the most bizarre thing happened. Out of nowhere, Buu spit out dozens of millions of small candies into the lands in front of him; enough to litter the entire horizon.
That wasn't even the craziest part. Buu then fired one of his magic rays from his head tentacle, sparking up the entire land in rainbow coloration. With a puff of magic smoke, the Dragon Team watched in shock as a dozen million candies became a legion of people going as far as the eye can see. Buu turned around with a smile and said, "Done!"
The people of Earth woke from the ground in a confused daze; they seemed to have been brought back somehow. Everyone was happy to be alive when suddenly they spotted the gigantic dragon in the sky, and they began to scream in terror and run away. It was a bit awkward.
"Uh… Mister dragon, sir… could you please send everyone back to their homes, please?" said Mr. Satan. Rutamomo granted the wish, and so with a flash of light, all earthlings were back to where they belong. The world was back in place and not a single person was killed in the process. Majin Buu's hunger came as an act of divine luck. Despite all the grueling suffering that they've been through, they owned the day completely. Except… for just one person.
Dina was twiddling her thumbs, trying to muster up the courage to ask the dragon her most wanted wish. Soon Launch came behind her and said, "I know what you're going to ask. I'm sorry but it won't work… we've tried it many times before. Besides, you know how awkward your father is. He already said his goodbyes, we don't have to make him say it again."
"… what are we going to do without him?" Dina asked.
"We'll keep on going; what else? He's in heaven now with all his buddies, I don't want to make him feel bad for leaving us. After all, we still have his memory alongside us, and we always will. And besides, I'm the widow of the world's strongest man, and you're his daughter. Isn't that cool?"
Dina hugged Launch. "It's the coolest…"
From there it appeared no one had any more wishes to make; they can't wish anything for themselves anyway. The only one who wanted something was Goten, he said, "Hey, can someone please wish my tail back?"
"NO!" they all shout in unison.
"Aw… okay…"
After that, Dende walked up to Rutamomo. "I believe we no longer need your powers, Rutamomo. Thank you, you can rest now-"
"Wait!" said Videl. She was a bit nervous to stare at the dragon but she had one very important wish to make. She states that absolutely nothing was gained that day, but not much was lost. She thought it was better for everything that happened to be forgotten, instead of all the credit for Buu's defeat going to Mr. Satan again. And so she wished that all the memories from this crisis would be erased from all the normal people of Earth. The others agreed it was great thinking, and so Rutamomo granted the wish.
Buu, Babidi, Dabura and everything else that happened since the tournament was erased from everyone's minds, just like that. The world truly and completely returned to normal.
"I shall not mistake you, these wishes were few, but quite tiring. I will remain asleep for two years while I recuperate. Farewell." And so the gigantic dragon converted back into pure light, and returned to the dragon balls. They shoot up towards the sky and scatter all over the planet once more.

"Well guys thanks for all that but I'm hungry and tired. See ya," said Yajirobe. He and master Korin decided to leave. They called out a dark nimbus and prepared to go, not before Korin praised the young warriors one last time for their efforts in saving the universe. He wishes to see them in times of peace, and not only in times of need. And so the tower guardian and his pupil rocket out of there.
"You guys have no idea how much paperwork this big adventure will cost me. I better get to it. If the situation ever gets this bad again don't even bother calling me; I'm out" said 17, walking away. "Hey 18, wanna go get wasted?"
"Oh god yes. Might as well now that I have some money saved up." she said, winking at Mr. Satan. And so the twins fly out of there, waving goodbye to their comrades as they go. "Try not causing any trouble for five minutes, okay?"
The three kids were left discussing their mishaps while teasing each other; especially Boku for almost killing them all because he used a phony magic tag. In the end they promise each other to keep on training so they won't lose as pathetically next time. Boku takes Bulma, Puar and Oolong in a capsule flier and they leave, while Dina grabs her mother by her hand as they soar through the clouds.
Dende said his goodbyes and accompanied Mr. Popo to the lookout; they have a lot of things to fix up there. He wishes his friends good luck, and that maybe next time they can meet again in better conditions. The Guardian of Earth and his faithful servant take their leave on a magic carpet.
Next Kibito appeared, holding the two broken halves of the Z-sword. It was gonna take them a long while to patch all the dimensional holes and magic heirlooms destroyed, but he literally has infinite time. He commends the two champions of the mortal realm, knowing that he can count on them in times of crisis. For now he needs to resume his new duties. The universe is full of empty space just waiting for a magic touch. They wish him luck.
Now the Son and Satan family are left alone.
"So… I really need a shower… and a doctor. When can we meet again?" Videl asked.
"School starts again next week. I'll see you in class." Gohan replied.
"Oh, right- almost slipped my mind. I'm gonna take it easy if you don't mind. Becoming the strongest in the universe for a whole hour is really tiring. I'll see you then, blond-alien boy." She said. Gohan begged her to not call him that again, but it was too funny to pass.
Buu was now confused on what to do. Mr. Satan told him he could do whatever he wanted, as long as he's kind and helpful, Mr. Satan is sure people will love him wherever he goes. Besides that, he's welcome to Mr. Satan's mansion any time he wants to visit, and so the two good friends part ways. Majin Buu happily flies back to his house, hoping to one day be loved by all. Gohan wonders how that will turn out, but honestly he's too tired to care.
And so, Videl takes her father by the scruff of his gi and drags him through the skies as he screams in fear. Chi-chi and Goten were standing behind him. "Your father must be so proud." Chi-chi said, "You barely turned eighteen and you already have a wife waiting for you~"
"MOM, please!"
And so the family calls out their golden nimbus. Through this long adventure of bad luck, despair and pain, they have overcome evil itself. There are no spoils, but they can fill their hearts knowing it's over. Life goes on.

And life did go on.
Dende continued being the caring guardian that he always was. The people seemed to have fully forgotten Majin Buu, so life on Earth didn't change drastically as it did with Cell. After the news of victory spread beyond Earth, the mighty voice Dende was hailed as an entity much greater than the Kais. He had millions of followers in space and didn't know a thing about it.
The only thing Dende wanted now was to get stronger and become a better guardian, and for that he found a way. There was a certain "item" that he had to retrieve. A very loud, rude and dangerous item, from which he can learn many secrets from the demon realm. One day they might be useful, and so he took it to the lookout.

17 had about a hundred pages worth of information that he had to pass directly to King Furry. So many demons, twists and turns, stupid techniques and impossible odds, fusing with his sister and turning into an androgynous android; he got bored of it. So in his recklessness he decided to have an early retirement without ever finishing his report.
He bought land on a secluded island full of exotic animals, and made that his new home. He decided to spend his last twenties in peace, but of course it didn't work right. There was a lady there, sent to explore and catalog the hundreds of magical species that lived on the island. She was almost getting killed on the regular so 17 was forced to hang around. He didn't mind… she was a little cute… and hot too. Definitely.

As for his sister, 18 got much more adrenaline from this adventure than she needed. Now that she had an awful lot of mysterious money (thanks Mr. Satan) she decided to mingle with all the dumb adult stuff. She managed to buy all the stocks of a certain R Pharmaceutics right as they were low, and just before they got really valuable. 18 was absolutely terrible at her job, but she was the boss after all. It didn't take long before she got bored of adult life again and decided to continue traveling the world until she found something fun again, all the while making millions passively. She didn't know what was wrong with her, but 17 had a wild guess; she needed a boyfriend on the double.

As always, Bulma threw one of her celebration parties with all the friends, because why not? There was something else to celebrate that day. Boku had graduated with his master's degree in engineering, biology and astrophysics, so Bulma thought there was no better time than this to retire as the world's smartest woman. She gave Capsule Corp to Boku, becoming the new lead inventor. Not his most favorite pastime, but sure. He's gonna need a lot of creativity to top his mom and grandfather. But he invented time travel once, he can probably do it again.
By the way, he has known that his future self time traveled to the past; he has known it for years. Honestly, there were so many clues and missing pieces that at one point it just became obvious… He also found a photo with an older him along with his mom, so there.
Everyone was shocked. "You guys are dense," Boku said.

As for his other two friends, what else could they do but train? Goten wasn't fond of studying or anything else really. Of course someone has to continue practicing and pass down the turtle and crane school's teachings. That is, if Goten ever bothers to learn them. He always rather living them instead. Don't slack, play fair, eat and sleep plenty; that's the way.
As for Dina, she would have to pick up some work to sustain the family in her father's stead. Thankfully there isn't any job that a hyper-powerful little girl can't do… There's also no bank they can't rob either. Like mom, like daughter.

The legend of the fantastic Mr. Buu began overnight and soon spread over the world. The big pink hero who would solve problems in stupid ways, heal the wounded by touching them, and turning rocks into dessert for the hungry. One powerful warrior, trained by Mr. Satan himself. A true hero of modern times, loved by many. If only Buu would spend less than 70% of his time sleeping, then maybe most people would believe he's real.

And for our great heroes, the strongest warriors that Earth has to offer… They went back to school as if nothing happened. Somehow it was even more boring now, but boring that Videl grew to appreciate. Erasa and Sharpner would see the two love birds leaving school together and wonder, "Do you think they are going to train today or are they dating?" he asked. "I'm quite sure there is no difference at this point."
She was sort of right. They tried going on a regular restaurant date but it didn't cut it, their bond is formed through strength. Videl was very eager to catch up, knowing the wider world and universe that she belongs to. She lost all that miraculous power and was raring to gain it back. She wasn't worried about how long it would take, as long as Gohan is there, she can do it. Man, those two need to get a room.
But maybe that's alright.
In a world so full of silly people and crazy adventures, it's hard to expect what comes next. But through tragedy or luck, they will be ready to pull through. They have to. Just like it began, the terror of the Majin crisis came to a close.
