DRAGON BALL HARDCORE

THE BEERUS SAGA, part 1

.

.

An alarm clock. An alarm clock was the thing that kept the universe truly safe for the last five million years. But as it is the nature of the tool, it couldn't do it forever. Instead of telling hours, days or months, it just had two points; start and finish. Tic toc tic toc… and finally the timer runs out. Its beeping is not loud, but it signals the beginning of the end.

The being it was set to awake was not… impressive, as to say. Not a giant eldritch demon or some messed creature of untold reality, just a purple humanoid cat, who seemed to be severely starved. He woke up with a big yawn, dressed in a cute night gown. He took some time stretching until he decided to get out of bed.

He lived in some sort of temple; abominably huge considering how little of that space he actually uses. The violet sky outside was very beautiful; just like the other world always is. The cat man had a job to do, but first he wanted to eat something. He went to some sort of basic kitchen with just a small table for two. Someone was already sitting there, reading newspapers. A tall but thin man with bluish skin and exceedingly fancy clothing.

"Hmm- Good afternoon lord Beerus. Did you sleep well?" said the man.

"Hey, Whis… I had around five hundred thousand dreams this time. Most of them were boring, but the last one was pretty cool. There was this really strong guy with golden hair, and he was beating the shit out of me. It was amazing!" Beerus said, taking a coffee mug for himself. "So, what did I miss?"

"The five Supreme Kais are dead."

"… … WHAAAAT?!" Beerus shouted, "How did that even happen?"

"Some mage from the demon realm created a powerful creature that killed them. That's pretty much it." Whis said. "If only there was something like, let's say, 'a god of destruction' that could protect them."

"But- why didn't you wake me up?!"

"Oh trust me, I tried. Don't worry, they solved the situation themselves and they had a spare Supreme Kai to take over. He didn't do much work though; the universe is a little disheveled and empty compared to the three last ones."

"Oh… okay then."

Beerus sat in front of Whis as he began eating toast. "So, what do you think? Is this universe worth a scrap or I'll be forced to reset it all again?"

"First of all, I still don't agree with your method of working. This 'test' that you make serves no purpose. Power and prosperity don't usually align, you know. The mortals shouldn't be destroyed just because-"

"Whis, you don't need to tell me how to do my job. Just tell me what I asked."

Whis let out a sigh of frustration. "Do you want the whole story or just the last thousand years?"

"The last thousand years, please."

"Well… to summarize, there were these two ancient planets, one of green people called Namekians and the other one of white people called Tuffles. They lived on the planets Namek and Sadala respectively. The Namekians were really strong and technologically advanced, but they ended up using too much magic from the demon realm, causing their world to fall into ruin and war; just one Namekian survived the crisis. As for the Tuffles, they used to subjugate this race of advanced mutant primates called Saiyans into slavery. Eventually the Saiyans grew numerous and strong enough to fight back, eradicating the Tuffles. Sadala was pretty destroyed after that, so being led by a certain 'Vegeta' they found a new planet, and named it planet Vegeta. Stupid, I know. The Saiyans ended up enslaved anyway, it doesn't matter. And oh- there was this guy called Cold. He was the top dog for a good thousand years and was pretty strong; you would've liked him. He made an empire and ruled over the entire universe with an iron fist."

"Okay, but… why are you telling me this? I asked if there were any strong guys around." Beerus remarked.

"I was getting to that! I was just giving background information. You see, this universe has some of the strongest warriors that we ever saw. Would you believe me if I told you that these mortals managed to reach the power of gods… in just fifty years?"

Beerus' eyes were wide open. "Noooo~ you can't be serious!"

"Oh I'm dead serious." Whis replied.

Beerus sat very attentively in his chair. "Tell me everything!"

"Sure thing! It's a very long story, you know; probably around six-hundred chapters if I were to put it in words. Personally I decided to title it: Dragon Ball. Original, interesting and it easily rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?

It all began with this Saiyan warrior called Bardock, his wife Gine, and their dear son, Kakarot…

Three years had passed since the last great battle to decide the fate of the universe. Thankfully they didn't have those as often anymore, and so the warriors of Earth continued to live in relative peace. They lived very mundane lives, so barely anything changed since Kid Buu was defeated by the combined forces of the mortal realm.

Gohan, the strongest warrior on Earth, had long graduated from his academy years. His list of credentials is so big that they needed two extra pages; he became the most renowned professor on the planet. He was a specialist in all fields, and he struggled to choose who to work for. Literally every company, party and lab wanted him; the best part? He was just 21 years old. And most surprisingly, he was dating the daughter of the great Mr. Satan. By all accounts he had the perfect life; shaped by all kinds of struggles. He lived in a nice apartment in Satan City, moved in just last week, and his greatest problem was not knowing how to enjoy the rich life he built for himself. Thankfully that was a special week off, so he had time to take on his other career.

That morning he heard a knock at the door. Though it was closed, he already knew who it was. Her energy was sparking up in anticipation. It was Videl, who barely changed anything in the last three years besides getting a little taller. She was already wearing her white and purple gi, because unlike Gohan she was a full time martial artist. She didn't have to teach any students though, she only wanted to get strong by herself. Today it was a rare occasion that her boyfriend found time to train with her like they used to.

They went off to a green and empty plain like they usually do. It was an amicable fight; not bloody, but no soft slaps either. Videl was fighting weirdly defensively that day, and tried to not get hit as much. According to her it wasn't important, she was just trying to take some care for a change. Once they were done, they always ended up on this spot under a tree by the lake, and they would talk about their day. Gohan was becoming a little too famous for his liking, and he wished he could go back to his farm days with mom and Goten. Videl had been training with Majin Buu these past few months. They made a deal; she would teach him how to be a better superhero and Buu would help her get stronger. And who knows, maybe she will start shooting magic candy beams out of her fingers. The two laugh, and so Gohan eventually comes with the golden question.

"I just remembered! Bulma is going to have her 44th birthday tomorrow. Do you want to come with me? Everybody will be there. Just, you know… please don't fight Boku this time."

"If he watches his mouth I'll watch mine." Videl got up and started flying away. "Call me and I'll be by your house. Don't try to put on a tie without me- you know you can't."

She stopped for a second before leaving. She looked like she had something to say, but then either forgot or gave up. She didn't seem upset this time at least. "Huh… weird."

Somewhere in West City, the big companies decided to hold a meeting to talk about all the creepy and evil shit they will do the following year. It was boring as always. Out of all the CEOs present there, one was actually a twelve year old boy. The current lead inventor of Capsule Corp, Bokusa Briefs. He was being tormented and followed in the streets by Paparazzi until he decided to just leave. Not with a car or a ship, he just started levitating and flying with his hands in his pockets.

He had a friend to visit up the mountains. She was training alone and together at the same time. It barely makes sense. Dinchiaohan could use the multi-form technique to separate the two souls inhabiting her body. The two sisters were fighting each other, still reaching for new levels in the boundless potential of their youth. Eventually, Dee, the one with white hair and foul mouth, ended up winning the little sparring practice. Dina held back too much. Once they were done, the two did a high five that put them back together.

Soon Boku appeared at super speed in front of her. He was all decked up in a blazer with his glasses. He looked so much better like that; Dina said he should wear that instead of his dumb gi every time they fight. "I'm not here to flirt," he said.

"I-I-I'm not flirting!" Dina replied.

"Listen, my mother's birthday is tomorrow. I need your help with something."

Boku wanted something special for his mother. Despite the last thirty years of adventure, she never actually got the chance to make a wish for the dragon. He was hoping that Dina helps get the dragon balls for the party. Instead of everyone bringing a gift, they should just let Rutamomo makes the gifts for them. Dina thought it was a perfect idea.

"I'm in!" said Goten, who suddenly appeared.

"Goten! Where did you come from?!" Boku asked.

Goten just made the Instant Transmission pose. "I felt you two approach each other and thought you were going to train without me, but I guess this is better!" Goten had grown a little taller, and he didn't resemble Goku all that much anymore. His hair got a little more shaggy on the right; like he's just half Goku now. Together they set out a hunt for the dragon balls, agreeing to not fly this time to make it more exciting.

By tomorrow everyone had gotten their invitations. The woman who started this whole adventure many years ago; who fundamentally changed the course of universal history through her somewhat petty desire to have a boyfriend. She got that and much more; now surrounded by friends of all kinds, backgrounds, species and even planets. An important sum of them couldn't be there in person, but she was certain that they were watching on like they always do.

Boku and Puar were walking around with a list checking if they hadn't forgotten anything. The first to arrive was Oolong, who managed to get some time off his best-selling author agenda to congratulate the lady who kept him under a roof in his earlier days. Right after him came Bulma's sister, Tights. She wasn't around much, she was out having some space adventures with her gang of idiots while her sister had fantasy adventures with her gang of idiots; last time they saw each other was at their parents funeral. Their family wasn't that connected, but they surely made some great friends to call family.

Then arrived android 18 in her motorcycle. She seemed noticeably off since their last encounter; more somber than commanding. Her hair was longer than usual and her tone was a bit empty. She congratulated Bulma and immediately went to a corner and sat there, drinking from a flask every now and then. Whatever happened there, Boku hopes 17 can talk to her once he arrives. Not too late from that, two new menaces arrived at the party. Dina and Launch came from the sky and soon joined the party. Right after them came the Son family, Goten and Chi-chi with their flying nimbus. Dina took over the body and called Goten to go play video games inside. Mr. Satan later appeared with Buu; he spent a whole week searching for him, and convinced him to come by talking about all the nice food. Korin and Yajirobe soon arrived to say their regards. Yajirobe wasted no time and joined Buu at the food table. Who knows why she invited him; Bulma must have been in a really good mood.

17 arrived late but not last. He parked his car and went to meet everyone. His appearance changed quite a bit; he pulled his hair back and was rocking a five-o'clock shadow. He was being accompanied by a girl with brown hair in a ponytail, dressed like she just left the jungle. She seemed very excited. 17 got ahead and said, "Oh, by the way, this is my wife, Kashi."

Everyone reacted funny. Kashi wanted to skip all the introduction part and went straight ahead to see "the alien boys" 17 told her about. Eventually she found Goten, and he stood still there as the lady pulled all sorts of tools and devices to analyze all parts of his body. "Goodness, your body was made to kick ass! The density of your muscle fiber and bones is nearly five times that of a normal human!"

"You promised you wouldn't do this, dear…" said 17, covering his face in shame.

Someone silently appeared during the commotion. Dende took a day off and decided to come to the party. He came along with the last dragon ball that Boku requested; the one he personally kept in his care. Once the festivities were done, they could finally summon the dragon. Boku thanked Dende, but he wondered… Why is Gohan taking so long?

Videl arrived at Gohan's apartment in a cute little red dress. He ended up not calling her and she got worried. She barged inside and saw him all dressed up, but something was wrong. He was sitting down and looking at his fists. Gohan told her something was wrong that day; there's no powerful energy around, just this ominous feeling that something bad has started. Videl managed to calm him down and drag him to the party.

Everyone was happy to see the world's strongest all grown up. Chi-chi cried on his shoulder for how much she missed him, despite him moving away from home just last week. Once everyone was there the party truly started.

But unannounced to them, they would receive two final guests.

"…The energy of the fallen warriors was enough to flip the tables of that struggle. Gohan was able to defeat Kid Buu, erasing him from existence. The Spirit Bomb exploded, and they were left in ominous silence… But in the end, our hero survived. Videl was overcome with emotion upon seeing his face, and they shared a first love kiss. My-my that was satisfying to watch! And so, with the final battle against ultimate evil concluded, the Earth was restored to its former glory, and the warriors were allowed to enjoy peace to this very day. To be continued." Whis finished telling the entire story of Dragon Ball thus far, taking a full day to do so.

"… Now that's a great story." Beerus said, shrugging off tears. "Honestly I wish it ended on Frieza… these last few sections were a little too heartbreaking for me."

"Well… I can only imagine what you want to do now." Whis said.

"Yep… let's go meet our heroes."

Beerus snapped his fingers, and his sleeping gown turned into a proper attire. Golden bracelets and armbands, blue pants and a weird collar on his chest. Whis then got up, and summoned some kind of staff. "Let's go then."

The two walked outside to their little planet with a cute garden. And so Whis hits the ground with his staff and says, "Kai-kai." The two are immediately transported to the mortal realm, directly into downtown West City of Earth. Capsule Corp was just a casual walk ahead.

They entered Capsule Corp by pretty much going at the speed of sound through security, and soon arrived at the gigantic garden at the back with all of Dr. Brief's old pets. Everyone was distracted when suddenly these two weirdos appeared out of nowhere. They were very glad to meet everyone there, somehow knowing each and every single one of them by name. They present themselves as Beerus and Whis.

"Hold on there. I know you two weren't invited. This is a private party, get lost!" Boku said.

"Oh, don't you say? That's terrible. I've heard so much about you all, I was hoping to finally spend some time with the strongest warriors in the universe." Beerus said. That immediately made him suspicious. How does he know who they are?

Eventually Bulma stepped in and allowed them to join the party. And boy, that was a good decision. Their presence there somehow made the party more lively. First thing he did was go play videogames with Videl, Goten and Dina. He spent a lot of time eating as well, very grateful for how divine Earth's cuisine ended up being. Karaoke, Ping Pong, dancing; there was nothing Beerus wouldn't do for fun. Whis was a very well mannered man and a great listener; he was actually the first one to talk with 18. After all it seemed like her problem was being lonely, and Whis tried to give her dating advice but she got a little aggressive at his suggestion. The dragon team found themselves liking the two really fast, while Boku, Dende and Gohan remained distrustful. Their energy was weird; it reminded them both of Kibito and Elder Kai. Why were they being so friendly?

Gohan was finally able to ask these questions after everyone had eaten at the big long table and they were enjoying dessert. Beerus loved the party, but this moment was inevitable. He can't prolong it any further; the test must commence.

"I'm quite sure you all met with the gods from other worlds before. The King Kais, the Supreme Kaioshins, etc. I'm also one of them, though my job is a little different. I'm a Hakaishin, or 'Supreme god of destruction' if you will. They create, supervise, monitor, weave time… while I just destroy what needs to be destroyed." Beerus said.

"A god… of destruction?" Gohan's sweating was visible.

"Yeah… before we proceed to my real business here, I just wanted to thank you guys for dealing with Majin Buu for me. You guys did a great job, truly impressive."

"Well, no problem but… wait… why didn't you deal with Buu? Where were you?!" Boku asked.

Beerus was scratching his chin. "I was… sleeping. Sorry, it's a bad habit of mine."

"S-sle- sleeping?!"

"Listen, I'm not here to be told how to do my job. I came for a very simple reason." Beerus stood up very menacingly and pointed straight at Gohan. Everyone went silent. "I came here to fight you. Just you and me."

Gohan gave him a very serious look. "I fight to defend my home, not to amuse you."

Beerus looked around with vicious eyes around the others, the same killing intent even for the ones who didn't have any power. "I insist," he said. Gohan's face slowly went from serious to angry. He ripped out his tie, took off his blazer and started walking away. "Let's go…"

The two walked into the open field as the others watched from very far away. Whis advised them to stay out of the fight, since Beerus hates to be interrupted. Before they traded blows, Gohan demanded to know what he wanted, but Beerus was vague and told him to just come already. Gohan assumed a very light offensive, not being able to feel his opponents true strength. Beerus was still half asleep from that attempt, dodging effortlessly and blocking with just one hand. Eventually Gohan jumped away.

"What was that supposed to be?" asked Beerus. Suddenly he got really angry. "I WILL TELL YOU THIS ONCE, YOU BETTER FIGHT WITH A KILLING INTENT, OR ELSE YOU'LL REGRET IT!"

"Fine," Gohan said. He rushed at Beerus with his full power for a split second, which surprised him. Gohan actually managed to hit a punch in Beerus' face that forced him to step back. He smiled. "That's better, kid."

The two actually started to fight seriously now, with Beerus throwing punches back that Gohan was capable of blocking. By the looks of it Beerus was very well trained in martial arts. The two fought equally at max power, using only their fists to cause as little destruction as possible. Everyone was pretty confident that Gohan would win, since he and Videl kept up their training for the last three years. He didn't lose pace.

After the next strong punch he took, this time Beerus was forced to jump back. He mired upon the small bruise Gohan inflicted on his cheek and said, "Not bad… you actually managed to hit me good at 2%… so few managed to do that. You're one out of trillions, kid."

"Did you say 2%?!"

"Yes I did."

Beerus suddenly took a stance as purple ki enveloped his body. Now he would fight at 5% of his full power, and attack Gohan. He tried to fight back but he was struggling to keep up. Gohan was forced to use Kaioken in a very small burst to try and damage Beerus. The god was genuinely impressed about all the kinds of tricks they have. In the end Gohan couldn't do it. He started getting beaten to the ground. It was then that Beerus heard someone calling out his name.

Videl suddenly approached Beerus. She told him to stop what he was doing before she was forced to enter the fight. Beerus felt her energy and laughed; the girl sure had some guts. He stepped forward to attack Gohan again, but suddenly he felt a powerful energy surge to his side. Goten teleported there and held his hand.

"You heard the lady."

"Wha-" before Beerus could finish, Goten gave him a powerful kick to the face that sent him staggering back. Beerus immediately recomposed; damn, that was a good hit for a brat. Now he looked around, and the fight seemed to have gotten more interesting. All the Z-warriors of Earth now surround him, with menacing eyes just waiting to jump in. Beerus invited them to come fight all together, otherwise they might not stand a chance. And so all the fighters present; Videl, 17, 18, Goten, Dina and Boku attacked Beerus relentlessly. It was a serious all out fight; Beerus was not allowed to breathe as he was attacked by all sides. However, he quickly picked up the pace. He managed to knock down most of them with a single serious hit. 17 had to use his barriers to protect others before the fight turned bloody. Videl tried to choke him out but it didn't work, he fought back by headbutting her in the face.

"ENOUGH!" Gohan said, getting a sudden energy out of rage. He attacked Beerus like a savage, and the god noticed that his power grew with his anger, just like in the story. Beerus started to get overwhelmed by Gohan's Saiyan side, and was forced to double his efforts. Beerus powered up again, now to 15%.

Gohan, even at his most angry, couldn't handle this new power Beerus was developing. This is just 15% for him? That power was scary. Gohan was slowly running out of options as Beerus continued punching him again and again. The warriors forced themselves to stand up and fight; Beerus's aura was threatening. What was he trying to get out of this fight?

In the end Gohan was on the floor. Beerus was still enjoying the fight and wanted more, but then he was stopped. Someone else came to fight him; Mr. Satan convinced Buu to go help them. He was still eating a sandwich as he showed up. Beerus and this random pink man look at each other with curious eyes. They recognized each other.

"GSK! My buddy, how long has it been! I didn't know Buu took after your appearance once he absorbed you. Now all that candy beam stuff makes so much more sense! Are you still in there, buddy?" asked Beerus. But Buu wasn't flattered. Buu claims to have met the funny purple cat, with memories that aren't his. He was slowly getting mad as he remembered, dropping his food and making a mean face.

"You… you killed so many of BUU'S FRIENDS!"

Buu suddenly attacked him, and his bizarre capabilities completely overwhelmed Beerus. His body was weird and he had a lot of creativity in how to use it. The two fought ferociously; Gohan never saw Buu so mad as to have his eyes fully opened like that. Beerus was glad for the opportunity of this fight; to him it was a long time coming for him and Grand Supreme Kai to fight, since he was the one who most disapproved of Beerus. In the end, Majin Buu is the first one who could draw blood out of Beerus, and so he's forced to adapt. He goes up to 20% of his full power, and from then on it was even sad to see. Buu was being treated like an absolute punching bag of gum. Gohan had to step in and do something. He was willing to go Kaioken 20x to destroy Beerus in one attack before he powers up any further. But before he can attack, everyone hears a shout.

"HEY YOU, STOP THIS!"

It was Bulma. She was walking aggressively towards Beerus as he flew back to the ground. Dende was trying to hold her back while Boku shouted at her to not come any closer. She got all up in Beerus' face and told him to stop wrecking her party with his stupid crap. This has long passed to be an amicable fight. She demanded that he leaves.

Beerus looked at her with those menacing eyes. The others expected the worst, but surprisingly he started lowering his energy. "Excuse me, I didn't realize I was being a killjoy. I take my job really seriously, you know. But anyway, you're right, this fight is pointless. None of you can match up to me. It's such a shame; I had high hopes."

Whis suddenly appeared by his side. "What will you do now, lord Beerus?"

He looked around at the wounded fighters as Dende began healing them. He was really lost in thought, coming up with a plan to make up for all this. He came to realize that even though they lost, the Z-warriors always had this tendency to bounce back stronger than ever the longer a crisis played out. Normally he would just destroy the Earth now and kill all of them, but he has another plan. A second test.

"Listen up, beautiful people. I feel like you still have fire in you! And I'm sure that if you fight through enough crap, you'll eventually find a way to offer me a better challenge. So I have a proposition to make.

I'll give you guys 24 hours and plenty of opportunity so then you can rise up to the challenge and get stronger. In the end you will have another chance to try and kill me. If you fail, I guess this will be the last day of this universe. So… Do we have a deal?"

"Wait… hold on, what are you going to-"

"GREAT! Get ready and prepare, I'll see you guys in a pinch! Whis, let's go to the other world." Beerus said, and so Whis hit his staff on the ground and the two disappeared. Everyone was in silent and understandable shock; what is this guy planning?!

Thankfully, an old friend soon appeared there to explain some things. Kibito teleported to Earth, the first time in three years. He was glad to see that the warriors survived their first encounter with the god of destruction. He states that today begins judgment day; the last day of every universe, all because of Beerus.

In this universe, all gods, despite the weight of the title, are nothing more than a corporation at the end of the day. Their sole job is to ensure that the universe prosper. Beerus' job is to destroy things that had grown evil or too powerful, like a parasite that impedes the universe's growth. At least, that was what he was supposed to do.

But for the last 15 million years, the universe was reset from the ground up about two times, all because of Beerus' peculiar way of doing his job. He would sleep for 5 million years, and wake up on judgment day. Once awake, Beerus will look for the strongest warriors that this universe could produce; if not a warrior, then a nation, or an army, or even a weapon that was strong enough to kill him in battle. And if the mortals failed to live up his expectations… He would simply destroy everything in the universe. All planets, all races, every person and creature. Trillions vanished in a single day, and every time the Supreme Kais were forced to start from scratch. Beerus believed that if the universe wasn't capable of defeating him in combat, then the universe was not worth keeping. No one stood above the gods of destruction and creation, so Beerus was never punished by his stupid way of working.

Now, Kibito will try to help the warriors of Earth to the best of his abilities, so then they can hope to defeat Beerus and save the universe. But now they were all confused; what was this second test he was planning to do? Who will they fight? Kibito didn't know… at least, until he used his godly vision to see what Beerus was doing.

The streets of hell were as busy as ever; full of malicious souls who's only objective is to be better, and one day regret their terrible misdeeds. Some take a year or two, some take decades, while a selected few simply refuse to leave their punishment. But that day, all the ogre employees who manage hell have received a phone call. Lord Beerus, the god of destruction, told them to bring the most malignant souls to hell square for him. He was the boss, so they were forced to obey.

The center of hell was quite packed as more and more people arrived to hear what Beerus had to say. He started his speech by trying to elevate the mood, but everyone remained annoyed and silent. He claims that they are lucky to be in new hell; back in his day, this place used to be an empty wasteland of fire. Eventually the Kais figured it wasn't that efficient at rehabilitating souls, so they tried this new approach. But despite that, he can still see anger in them. They have been destroyed, humiliated by their enemies, and killed off without a second thought. Above all else they wanted a chance to get revenge, and leave this damn place while at it. Thankfully for them… Beerus knew just the way to do it.

"Listen, you pitiful souls! Today we are going to play a game, and if you win I promise to have all your souls revived in the mortal realm! That's right- free of charge and with the freedom to do whatever you wish again! But there's a catch!" he said. Whis proceeded to use his magic staff to create visions in the air. Visions of the nine warriors of planet Earth; Gohan, Videl, Goten, Boku, Dina, 17, 18, Dende and Buu. "Once you're free, you will have 24 hours to kill all these warriors in battle. Use whatever methods you see fit, but if you leave even one of them alive, all of you will be put back here. And if you try to run away, I'll deal with you myself. What do you guys say; are you up for the challenge?!"

Hundreds of thousands of malicious smiles flare up among the crowd, and so they began shouting in pure hype. They began saying his name over and over again, "BEERUS! BEERUS! BEERUS!"

"Lord Beerus, are you absolutely certain this is the best course of action?" Whis asked.

"Of course I'm sure." Beerus spoke really close to his ear, "There's no way we can revive this many people, so they will all automatically return to hell in 24 hours anyways," he said. It was devilish, but it seemed to have completely fooled all of them. It looks like the second test of judgment day will begin. With Beerus's order, Whis hit the ground with his staff, and so dozens of portals began appearing all around the gigantic crowd. He announced that their mission began, and so everyone started jumping in the portals all together. Droves of evil spirits were entering Earth everywhere through the portals, and as soon as they left the other world their powers came back. The quest for their resurrection begins now.

Everyone in Capsule Corp immediately started sensing hundreds of enemies entering the boundaries of Earth; soon they were thousands. Kibito explained what Beerus just did; the gates of hell were opened wide, and their previous foes came rushing into their world. This is what he meant with the second test. They would have to destroy them all.

"How many enemies did you guys make in the past?" Videl asked.

"A lot…" Gohan said. His senses were almost skewed by how many ki signatures he felt at that moment. If this many people were to fight in one place, the Earth is doomed. But at that moment, Dende had an idea. First and before they needed to make sure no one died this time. He rushed inside with the others and grabbed the dragon balls. Quickly, they called out the secret password to summon Rutamomo.

The dragon's awakening turned the skies into the void, and so he emerged from the light. Rutamomo was even bigger and his horns were sharper than last time; it seems like it's power grows according to Dende's power. "What is it that you wish from me, master?"

"Rutamomo, the normal people of this planet are in grave danger, I wish to send them to another planet where they will be absolutely safe for the next 24 hours. Let them know why, then they won't go crazy." Dende said.

"That's easy." Rutamomo said. His eyes glowed, and so he made his magic.

The people of Earth were in shock, seeing portals opening and strange aliens and demons coming out. The intruders from hell demanded to know where the Earth's warriors were, but before anyone was harmed, the skies went dark and all the people of the world disappeared like bubbles popping. All the dozen million people currently residing on Earth were sent to planet Kanassa. It had long been rebuilt as a massive station for healing the wounded and sheltering immigrants from other planets, so the Earthlings were very much welcomed there by the alien settlers until the battle for their planet was ensuing.

Now the dragon team and the warriors from hell were the only ones on the planet; everyone else was gone, and they didn't have to worry about holding back. Still, there was one more wish that they could try with Rutamomo. Gohan wondered if the dragon could do anything about Beerus, but even at his strongest Rutamomo couldn't stand up to Beerus and Whis. There was no way for them to stop the second test of judgment day, other than winning it. And so Dende orders Rutamomo to retire, as they would most likely need his power again.

"That was quick. Very well then, I shall rest for several hours. Wake me if you need anything else." Rutamomo said. He turned back into light and returned to the dragon balls. They were about to shoot up to the sky when Dende shouted, "EVERYONE, DON'T LET THEM SCATTER!"

The other warriors immediately jumped in the air and grabbed all seven dragon balls before they flew off. They turned back to normal round stones, but at least this is better than searching for them again. Dende used Clothes Beam on everyone present, giving them better attire for the incoming fight; everyone was back to their fighting gear. Then Dende made a backpack and put all the balls inside for safe keeping. Now they needed to discuss how to deal with these enemies all over the world. "We just have to kill them all again, don't we?" 17 asked.

"It's not so simple. They are dead, we can't kill them again. The only way to defeat them is to send them back to hell one way or another," Kibito explained. "I'll return to the other world and focus on the magic spell. Once you defeat your enemies, call out my name and I will open a portal for you. You must go now! Focus all your efforts in passing the second test!"

"And what do we do?" asked Launch.

Everyone suddenly turned around and saw the rest of the dragon gang there; Bulma, Chi-chi, Oolong, Puar, Mr. Satan, Korin, Yajirobe and Kashi. "What?! Why didn't Rutamomo take you away as well?!" Boku asked angrily.

"I don't think we qualify as normal people anymore, sweetie. We're on this until the end I suppose." Bulma said. They wouldn't be safe there, Boku told them to go into the underground lab and stay there where it's safe; they are not the ones on the hit list after all. Boku begged Dende to protect them, but he couldn't. He said:

"You all saw what that monster was capable of; in the end we only reached 20% of his power. I believe we can beat him, but the planet might not be able to endure the fight. I will go to the lookout temple and try to take care of that. The rest of you, good luck.

Korin, Yajirobe, come with me!"

Dende reunited with the two. Suddenly he made a spell with his staff and the three simply disappeared. They could feel his presence back in the lookout. Dende learned how to teleport? When?! They could leave the answers to next time; now they had thousands of enemies to fight. Thankfully most of them were pushovers to the remaining warriors.

The rest of the dragon team cheers them on as they prepare.

We're so damn unlucky, aren't we, 17?" Android 18 asked.

He smiled, "Yeah… but by this point I think we learned how to live with it. Stay close to me, okay?"

18 replied, "As if I would let you hog all the fun."

Goten was sweating already. "Hey… do you guys want to make a bet? Let's see who defeats the highest number of them, how about it?" he said.

Dina sighed in frustration, "Goten, does everything needs to be a game to you?!… well… I'm in." she said.

Boku took off his glasses and picked up the backpack. "Sorry, you two, but I'm gonna focus on keeping the dragon balls safe. Have fun."

"Buu is going to smash their heads!" Buu said, not waiting for the others and immediately blasting off into the sky.

"Have fun, tubby!" Videl shouted. She looked back at Gohan, who was visibly upset. Once again; why does this keep happening?! Why does his friends and family need to be hurt like this?! Are they truly destined to spend the rest of their lives, with crisis after crisis? Videl held his hand and calmed him down. "Come on, big guy… Just one last time. I know you have it in you! Remember… you're not alone."

Gohan shook his head and gained back focus. He was smiling. "Videl, prepare for the worst. Fight with all you got, and if you can't win, run. Do you understand me?"

"Come on man, who do you take me for?" She said with a wink.

One final time; the day of judgment. They have to give their all one final time to save the universe from complete annihilation. And so the warriors split, flying different directions, ready for the longest battle of their life. Thousands of warriors for each of them.

How could these few fight so many? Worry not. Help is on the way. From the south, east, west, and even from the beyond. A phone call rang all over the universe.
