DRAGON BALL HARDCORE
THE BEERUS SAGA, part 2
.
.
The warriors of hell were pretty confident in their victory. There were thousands of them, against just nine schmucks. How strong can these warriors of Earth even be? Most didn't know what they got themselves into, but they learned it soon enough. For the Z-warriors, all they had to do was spot the people with halos over their heads and beat them to a pulp. There was no time to play around; they didn't hold back. Even Videl, the weakest out of them, was still destroying everyone she came across in one or two hits. The battles were taking place all over the planet; hundreds attacking all at once, but it did not matter. In the end the warriors just called out Kibito's name and a red portal to hell appeared nearby. They just needed to toss the unconscious enemies inside and they wouldn't be a problem anymore. It was easy, but they still had an absurd amount of enemies to fight. It would take a while.
…
Dende had returned to the lookout using magical teleportation; a neat trick he learned from his "source". Once there, he met up with Popo and explained what was happening; Korin and Yajirobe were right behind him. "Listen you three, I will try to perform a spell to stop the planet from being destroyed in case the fights get too dangerous. All I ask is that you defend me while I'm busy. Now please, lend me your hands."
Korin, Popo and Yajirobe did as he said. Dende touched their palms with his index finger, and that caused something unexpected. The three felt an awakening within their souls, feeling a surge of power running through their bodies. Just like that, their hidden potential was awakened. They gazed upon this amazing feeling until Dende said, "Did it work? Great. We have company."
Soon they looked back and saw a few hundred warriors flying in the sky. They scream as they see Dende's face and immediately attack. The attempt was easily countered by Mr. Popo, who instantly used his new power to knock the intruders to the ground below. Korin and Yajirobe soon joined him in the battle. "I hope I'm not too rusty for this!" said Korin. "Count on us, Dende!"
Dende nodded to them and ran inside the temple. Before he can perform a spell, he needs the help of his instructor since he has never done it on such a scale before. He had a room dedicated to him; it wasn't fancy, but at least he had a little pedestal and a cushion.
He soundly opened the creaky door and made his way towards the pedestal under the spotlight. He pulled out the cover, and there he was; sleeping. It was babidi; still missing his body from when Majin Buu punched his head off three years ago. He used magic to substitute or erase pretty much every need or organ his body once had, in turn making him immortal even at the most bizarre circumstances. In this state he can't use any magic it seems. Dende pulled his ear until he was awake. "Argh-! It's you, you green pest! What do you want from me?! I told to only wake me up for supper!"
"Things got really screwed up. I need your help setting up a powerful barrier or else we're all going to die." Dende said. Apparently he learned all these new sick tricks from the strongest mage of the demon realm. Babidi seemed rather annoyed, "And what is in it for me, huh?"
Dende pulled up a slice of cake from his sleeve that he took from the party. He shoved it in Babidi's face and it didn't take long for him to start eating it with big bites. "How powerful do you need this barrier to be?"
"Big enough to cover the entire core of the planet, and I need it to last a long time." Dende said. Babidi shook his head, "well, that's damn near impossible," he said, "but if you're willing to risk it all, maybe it can be done. First, let's go to the core's level."
Dende picked up Babidi's head and hooked it around his waist. Just then the temple started trembling as they heard an explosion outside. Babidi wondered what kind of crap was happening to Earth this time, but upon explaining, it seems he didn't even know there was a god of destruction. Man, that would've messed up his plans if he had won. They arrive outside just in time to see Yajirobe chopping people in half and biting off their limbs. Popo and Yajirobe fought while Korin tossed out the limbs and defeated enemies into a red portal. Dende told them to follow and they all jumped down to Earth. A hundred more enemies awaited them below, with some trying to climb the tower to get to them. Dende quickly hit the ground with his staff, opening a giant hole in the Earth as he jumped in. He continued falling for minutes until Babidi said:
"Here should be enough! Now, remember the complexities of this putrid reality and call out the dark mirror which so ignorantly refuses reality!" said Babidi. Dende began doing a chant of distorted voices, and out of his hands began forming the yellow demonic barrier. It started growing and forming a sphere around the giant red core of Earth. Electricity was running through it, and recoiling back from Dende's body. He was struggling tremendously to make one so big and durable at the same time. Babidi kept yelling instructions the whole time. "Command all its power to be summoned at once, regardless of what your body can handle! The evil entity will respect you more if you do!"
The barrier was close to completion; soon it was completely enveloping the core. Dende focused most of his remaining power trying to eliminate all frail points in the barrier sphere until it was a perfect and smooth circle. "Kings be damned, brat, you actually did it! I hope you're not almost dead because now it's the actual part that hurts. Now listen to me: this barrier is your soul! The body you occupy now it's merely a husk. Give it all the life force you have left!"
Dende did as he said, and out of his body began leaving a green hue shaped like a bubble. The pain he was feeling made him scream in anguish. The bubble connected to the yellow sphere, and suddenly the green coloration spreads all over the barrier. Dende could stop focusing now, it was done. He was nearly dead, but with the last of his strength he managed to fly up to surface level. The giant hole closes behind him, and he immediately falls on his face. "Dende!" shouted Korin. He quickly jumped to his side and fed him a Senzu Bean that he got from his house up ahead. That was enough to revitalize Dende, but he could sense a great majority of his power left his body and it didn't return. "Don't worry about that, it's just the price to pay. The barrier will stay up and sustain itself as long as you remain alive. Now be grateful for my help!" Babidi said. Dende just lost a bunch of his capabilities but at least the Earth is safe from pretty much anything now. He sent out a telepathic message to all the warriors around Earth, explaining that he succeeded. Now they can get as destructive as they wish. Now it was time for Dende to join his friends and start hitting some people really hard.
…
…
Not too long after the warriors split off, the remaining of the dragon team stood behind to think of what to do. Soon enough they started seeing the warriors from hell flying in the sky and searching for the Z-warriors in the city. Surprisingly, Chi-chi and Mr. Satan was somewhat capable of defeating a few troublemakers, but soon they were becoming too many and too powerful. Thankfully Bulma had a good idea to help. She attracted a good amount of them inside the Capsule Corp mansion, and with a bit of trickery they managed to lock powerful foes inside the room of gravity. They simply turn it off to max capacity and watch from the window as all the evil enemies turn to mush on the floor from the weight. Oolong and Puar then turned into big shovels and started scooping them off the floor and throwing them into one of Kibito's red portals. Despite their attempts, more and more enemies keep appearing and so they are forced to hide for their lives.
After hearing strange noises, the crew goes outside and soon finds Beerus and Whis eating away the leftover food of the party. Everyone freaks out but Beerus promises that he isn't here to do any harm; he's just waiting for the conclusion of the second test. In fact he tells them to stay close as he would protect them if need be. There were still a few more thousands of enemies to come.
And so they look up and see. More and more portals from hell were being opened in the sky, bringing more new fighters to this war; now they were almost hundreds of thousands. There was no hope that just the Z-warriors could defeat all of these in just 24 hours. They needed serious help. By then Bulma had realized something… her sister was missing from there.
…
…
"Is the signal good here?" said Tights, speaking on a strange phone. "Listen, you once told me that the Galactic Patrol owned planet Earth big time, didn't you? Well, now it's time to return the favor! And you better not ignore me, Jaco!"
Jaco was just a humble idiot who enlisted for the Galactic Patrol 10 years ago. For some reason he was tasked with monitoring planet Earth although he hated this job, but in this time he had his share of adventure. He and Tights were on the phone at the time; Jaco's ship was stationed on a small base in the Earth's moon. The two bicker over the line until Jaco gives up and promises to do as she asks. And so he called the command on the phone.
"Hello, command CC-32, this is Jaco, reporting from Earth… Yeah… Yeah, actually no, the planet seems to be in some sort of crisis… Ow- hey, don't scream in my ear!… Yes I'm sure… At least several thousands, and more are coming… You won't believe me if I told you… okay… how many people are we sending?… okay… Wait a second, did you just say ' everyone?'"
…
…
The galactic patrol took that with the utmost seriousness. Jaco's report was quickly shared to the newly elected King of the North Galaxy; a guy who looked like an octopus. Upon hearing the news, he didn't deliberate at all until he made a decision. Son Goku was from Earth, and the help he gave to the universe is immeasurable. They promised to back him up in case he ever needed it, and the promise will go on forever. King of the Galaxy ordered every single troop to planet Earth at once; max speed. They were to use the new Hyperspace Engines to get there this instant. All available Galactic Patrol officers in the universe were notified to move. And also, the King of the Galaxy told his assistant to try and contact the "special squad code SSJ." They would most likely want to help as well.

…
Gohan and the other warriors had been fighting for three hours straight against a bunch of pushovers; their tenacity was truly admirable despite their weakness. More and more of them were appearing with time; the battle seemed like it would never end. Gohan was receiving the most amount of focus from the enemy, being noted by Beerus as the strongest one around. Thankfully for him, he wouldn't have to fight these thousands of people alone.
With his back turned, a sneaky son of a gun tried to attack him. That guy suddenly received a flying kick in his face, sending him flying away. Gohan turned around to see a weird alien guy in purple. "uh… who are you?"
"I'm Jaco," he did a stupid pose. "from the Galactic Patrol. And we are here to pay our debt, and help the forces of Earth at all costs!"
We?
…
Just then, Gohan looked up to the sky, as suddenly dozens of ships started appearing in the atmosphere one by one. Soon the dozens turned to hundreds. Thankfully for him, enemies weren't the only thing they made out there. They also made a few friends in high places, and got a few admirers while they were at it.
All the other Z-warriors witnessed the same thing happening. Soldiers from the Galactic Patrol jumped in and started aiding them in the battle against the warriors of hell. Battles started ensuing all over the world now; from a far it looked like the planet was having one massive party of shining explosions. The warriors of hell met their match. Kibito started opening portals all over the place. It looked like soon there wouldn't be any hell warriors left to kill Earth's warriors. Was the second test of judgment day really this easy?
…
At the time victory seemed imminent, Beerus and Whis were still trying out all the different foods of Earth. "Lord Beerus, it would seem like the vast majority of our forces will be defeated eventually." Whis said.
"Yeah I know. I didn't expect them to have cavalry. It took them a miserable 4 hours to defeat most of the warriors of hell and I feel like nothing changed." Beerus started scratching his chin, thinking of a way to prolong this any further. "I think we should call out the big boys now."
"Are you sure? They might get killed if they fight all of them at the same time."
"I don't care; if they can't beat those guys again, then they aren't worth my time."
"Okay, I'll go," said Whis, teleporting back to hell in order to bring out the worst warriors who remain in there. Those were some familiar faces, and they were glad for the opportunity to have revenge, while others just sought a challenge, or the resurrection that comes from their victory. This will be a piece of cake…
…
…
…
The warriors of Earth were pretty relaxed; the Galactic Patrol seemed more than capable of defeating the other warriors from hell by working together. The enemies were forced to run away this time; it felt like victory was at hand. But it couldn't be farther from the case. Everyone felt a shiver down their spines as they felt energy that surpassed them by a long shot.
A portal appeared before Gohan, and from there emerged a man. Really tall and buffed, long and spiky black hair; he was shirtless and wore white pants with a red sash and boots. His power was scary. Gohan has never seen this guy before, but just from a single glance, they knew exactly what they were staring at. They could feel it in their blood.
"So you're the Saiyan of current times that I've been told about."
"You… are you also-"
"Quit talking. You're a warrior. Show me what you got."
Gohan told all the other Galactic Officers to back away while he fights this guy, or else they would most likely die. This man was so mysterious; he can feel no evil intent in his ki, and yet he seems so determined to fight for no reason. Gohan has to pass the second test, so he has no choice but to do as the man wants. "You're strong. Can I at least know your name?"
"If you make me bleed, I might tell you." the man said.
…
…
Boku was methodically picking off his enemies while hidden, since he still had to protect the dragon balls in his backpack. But all his careful consideration was thrown off the window when suddenly a portal opened behind him. Some being of dark purple skin and white spots came out of it, cackling to himself like a little shit. "You're telling me I will get my life back just for slaughtering this pitiful little boy?"
That voice, this appearance; Boku reminded himself of his early training. Mr. Tien once told of their adventures in space, where they met an absurdly powerful enemy that killed their friend Krillin. He tried to draw him, but Tien wasn't good at it. Boku had no doubt it was him; this power told him above all else.
"You're that Freezer guy!" Boku said.
"… I am lord Cooler, idiot." he said, annoyed. "Where were we? Oh yes."
Cooler immediately fired a death beam directly into Boku's chest. However, the beam went right through him; Cooler was staring directly at an afterimage. He quickly understood and jumped up to look around. He saw Boku running away really fast, since there was no way in hell he could fight this guy; leave it to the damn Saiyans. Cooler didn't allow him to flee so easily, and fired a barrage of death beams towards him. Boku managed to dodge some of them, but eventually a shot grazed his shoulder. He suffered mild bleeding, and the backpack fell off his shoulder; the dragon balls in stone form were sent rolling to the floor. Boku quickly formed a Soukidan in the shape of a shield to block the incoming barrage. Once it was done he quickly changed its shape to a spear and chucked it at Cooler. He had quick feet and was able to dodge it, but that was merely a distraction; the boy went ahead and disappeared again.
Cooler approached the place where he disappeared, and saw the round stones scattered about. Seven of them, perfectly round balls, all in one place. "Are those what I think they are?"
Suddenly, a nearby piece of rubble puffed into colored smoke; Boku with the Shape-shifting technique. He gave Cooler a surprise dropkick that sent him flying away. Boku cursed himself; he tried to pick up the dragon balls but he could only carry four of them with his hands. He will have to fight Cooler to protect them. "I hope Dina is having better luck."
…
…
Dina was flying through the sky on the way to help Boku fight this powerful enemy, but she soon met her match. A portal suddenly opened ahead of her, and before she could stop, a hand emerged from the portal and grabbed her by the head. It was a huge hand, light pink skin. Soon the massive creature emerged entirely from the portal; smiling wide and horns black like a devil. King Cold. "Forgive my intrusion" he said, and then he used his tail to slam Dina. The little girl was sent plummeting to the ground, creating a big crater on impact. Despite that she quickly got up to face him.
"Who would've thought that I would end back here- the place where I met my first defeat… You there, pitiful youngling, tell me where Son Goku is this instant. This time I plan to fight him to the absolute utmost of my power. I'll make him regret what he did to me!" Cold said.
"Sorry, you ugly freak, but you'll have to settle for me!" Dina said.
"Pardon me, child, but I do not care for small pets. My servants will deal with you." Cold replied. And right after he said that, Dina felt new powers arriving through the portal above. Four of them, all incredibly weak compared to her and Cold. They all dressed the same, looked weird, but despite that they were a team. The Ginyu Force!… and a frog. Even in death these guys remain loyal to their lords and king.
They made their stupid poses and declared that they would kill the little girl, which only made Dina laugh really hard. Reecome, Burter and Jeice rushed at her, but they were easily defeated in one hit. There was one last of them in the back; a green one who was ever more pathetic, carrying a frog. She tried to attack him, but once she got too close, he screamed, "YOU FELL FOR IT!"
Suddenly Dina was surrounded by a mysterious force, and she couldn't move. It was bizarre; she could feel her energy being suppressed. Guldo told her he was a psychic, and that he was using his superpower to seal her in place. Dina was completely open to strike, and the Ginyus did not waste time. The frog was their secret weapon, and it was time to use it. While Dina was paralyzed, Guldo shoved the frog in her face and Jeice said, "Do it now, captain!"
The frog opened its mouth, and suddenly it used a special technique. At that moment, a tendril of energy appeared between the Dina and the frog, and inside they could see their souls switching bodies. Once the light died out, Guldo let go of her. It wasn't Dina who got up from the ground; it was captain Ginyu.
"Good job, Guldo," said Ginyu, trying to ignore his little girl voice. "It seems like the power in this body is really quite absurd! I think I will keep it if you don't mind, your excellency."
Dina's soul was put inside the frog, and she was struggling to get off Guldo's grip. "We're not done here captain, maybe we should kill her!"
"Oh yes, the rules of the game might still apply. Get rid of her, will you-" Ginyu Dina was saying, when suddenly he felt his new right arm moving on its own. He tried to contain it, but suddenly the arm threw a punch in his own face, and Ginyu was sent staggering back. He looked deep inside, and quickly understood what had happened. There's another soul in this body!
Suddenly, a little girl with white hair phases from Ginyu's back. It was Dee, using the Multi-form technique subconsciously to exit herself out of Ginyu. Before the others could even understand what was going on, she quickly dashed towards Guldo, snatched the frog away from his hands and easily decapitated him with a sharp kick. She did the exact same to Jeice, Reecome and Burter, splitting them in half with light-speed punches and kicks. Finally she jumped away to reposition. "You guys sure got some nerve to try and take my body! At least pay for my dinner first!"
Dee thought that would be enough to put them down, but she ended up forgetting they can't die twice. Suddenly Guldo got up, picked his head from the floor and put it back in place. The other members of the Ginyu force did the same, and now they were strong as ever. Perhaps Dee underestimated them a bit. She would have to fight them very carefully; King Cold was still stupidly strong and was just watching from afar. First of all she just needed to get Ginyu out of her body, and she hoped that punching him enough would do the trick. The place was very dangerous for Dina in her frog form, so she gathered her strength and tossed her far in the distance. "Don't come back until you found a prince or something!"

…
17 and 18 were just blasting fools endlessly for the past four hours without ever getting tired due to their Ultra Reactors. But eventually Beerus got bold and decided it was high time to make them struggle. The twins didn't need the ability to sense energy in order to understand the trouble that appeared. A red portal opened up ahead, and out of it came… Cell?!
He was a little different; he stood up in such a robotic way and his eyes were pure red without pupils. "God damn it… it's him." 18 said. "Wait, that's what he turned into after he absorbed me?! He looks so cool!" 17 replied.
Cell didn't say a word for them; he just stood there. Unfortunately for them, that was not the worst thing to come out of that portal. Right after him, the person who emerged from that portal was Doctor Gero. He was surprised to see his failures still alive after thirteen years; he expected that the Ultra Reactors would've killed them by now. Finally Gero had the perfect tool to destroy all the Z-warriors once and forever. He will resurrect, and take over the world like he always wanted. All thanks to the genius of his future self.
Apparently, the doctor Gero from Cell's timeline was smart for not committing the same mistake twice. He installed a function in Cell's cerebral chip that made Cell completely subservient to Gero, and him alone. Once Cell heard his voice, he entered this state with the red eyes and essentially lost his soul. Cell's power is completely absurd due to all the battles he faced in the past; he could even be a tough match to Beerus. But instead of helping, Gero just wanted to finish what he started. Goku, Piccolo and Yamcha were dead, but there were more targets to deal with. And so he orders Cell to attack 17 and 18.
From the very beginning of the fight, 17 and 18 noticed how unskilled Cell was being. Though he was supposed to be powerful, having his soul overrun by a program has reduced his true skills tremendously, and Gero didn't notice that. But even so, it was still an unfair fight. He was fighting like a complete terminator; like he was back in his first form. 17 used his barrier to keep them alive while 18 used her Android Vision to analyze Cell. She managed to spot the cerebral chip located at the back of his neck, and they figured that destroying it will free Cell from Gero's control. But how? They were out of practice, but 17 had a suggestion. "Sis, we're going to need that stupid dance to defeat him. We have no choice!"
"Dying doesn't seem like a bad option, you know," 18 said. In the end she had to comply. Cell tried to attack them, but 17 used his barrier to protect them from all sides. It was now or never, the two attempted to do the fusion dance, but… they failed. Instead of turning into that beautiful man lady with long silky blond hair and weird attire, the two missed the dance timing, and were simply sent flying in opposite ways by a shock wave. It's been three years and they are out of practice; if they were to win, they needed time. That's exactly what they didn't have. For now they could only keep each other alive, and hope 17's barrier juice doesn't run out any time soon.
…
…
Dende and the other three guardians of the lookout were doing what they could to fight off the warriors from hell. The Galactic Patrol were a big help, but their problems weren't over. Soon they too met their match, as a giant portal opened in the sky. Dende couldn't believe what he saw. The enemies who descended to meet them were a gang… with a Namekian?
They all dressed in similar yellow garments, and their leader was the biggest one of them all. He had a big and recognizable scar in his eye, and he wore a strange purple helmet. He said, "I never expected to meet another Namekian alive. Tell me, brother, what is your name?"
The Namekian called himself Slug, and he was more interested in a talk than the game he was thrown in. In a quick discussion, Dende learned that this guy actually died a few hundred years ago, and most surprising of all, he was lord Guru's brother. Apparently, back when planet Namek originally erupted in crisis due to the mismanage of the dragon balls, Slug decided to just piss off and not help, leaving his own race to die. More surprising than all else, he revealed that he was the Namekian from the legends, who would grant the wishes for people all over the universe. But the legends were fake.
Slug commanded a powerful gang of pirates; these same soldiers who now surround him even in hell. Slug's dragon balls were cursed; his dragon worked in a very diabolical way. Once the password was recited and the dragon was summoned, it would then take the life of the person who summoned it as a tribute to realize any wish. Slug would lure fools who were curious by the fake legend he spread around, and use their life to make a wish for himself. Slug's only wish was to gain more power, essentially absorbing all the energy from everyone who used his dragon balls. It didn't take long for him to become one of the strongest beings in the universe, but sadly he too was killed. He didn't want to talk about that; it didn't matter anyway. Now he was presented with an opportunity for revival, and now he sees his gateway to even more power. Once Dende and the other warriors of Earth were dead, he could rule the universe with his might.
Dende had no respect for him. "Do you dare call me… brother? Your continued existence is a disgrace to my people! I'll make sure you end up in a place worse than hell!" he said.
Slug then told his men to attack the four of them, and it proved to be quite hard. Popo was forced to take the most amount of enemies while Dende faced Slug in a one versus one. Though his fighting capability was little, Dende's magic prowess would make up for it. Slug would rush him down with his fists and ki attacks, but Dende yielded the power of the demonic barrier to protect himself, plus he had Babidi on his waist to give him tips. He could do much more crazy stuff than this if most of his energy wasn't used to sustain the core's barrier.
Eventually Slug managed to hit Dende by extending his arms unexpectedly. However, he didn't go for a punch; he went for a grab. He dragged Dende closer and so Slug had him exactly where he wanted. He started unleashing a special skill before Dende could understand. The two were surrounded by light, and soon Dende started screaming in pain. His life force was being drained directly by Slug's hands. In order to free himself, Dende had to resort to the deadliest spell that Babidi taught him. He summoned a minuscule black hole in between them. Slug got hit by it, and that tore his arms off. Dende quickly teleported away once he was free, and Slug instantly regenerated his arms as if it was nothing.
Dende demanded that he explain what was that, and Slug was glad to say so. That was the technique that got him exiled in the first place; the Forced Fusion technique. It allowed Slug to absorb his fellow Namekians' power despite them not being willing, only taking more time than the usual fusion. Slug was hoping to fuse with Dende, so he could steal all his cool powers and memories. He would be unstoppable.
Dende would have to survive. All of these battles all over the planet are getting continuously more destructive; if he dies, the barrier is gone and so is Earth. For now he has to play extremely defensive, and Slug was not willing to give him that wiggle room.
…
…
It was sad that the weakest of them all would end up facing one of the toughest challenges there. Videl was feeling pretty good; last time there was a crisis she was constantly pushed around and useless for not being strong enough. Now Gohan and the others trust her new powers and are willing to let her help. She stepped up her training tenfold after what happened three years ago, and it seems like her old enemies are back to test her again.
The portal ahead opened wide, and she was confronted with a squad of devils. Puipui, Yakon, a short little green freak that looked very much like Babidi, and the worst… Dabura. They were glad to see that the insolent girl had grown so strong since last time; her flesh still seems tasty. And above all she was still arrogant as ever; she doesn't even care that Dabura is clearly stronger than her. She welcomed their challenge, and Puipui and Yakon were the first to jump in; raring for a rematch to kill this bitch like they should have three years ago.
Puipui was still an absolute pushover to her; he couldn't win back then, why would he now? For that, the little green bastard, who calls himself Bibidi, had an idea how. He used some kind of magic spell in the air, creating a reality bubble around them in a huge area. In Videl's point of view she basically ended up in another world; some sort of terrible dark realm with red clouds and some sort of eye in the sky. Once inside there, Puipui's body began to morph into something completely disgusting. He got taller, more bulky and his head distorted into an ugly sharp form, and his eyes were pure red. Puipui explains that inside the demon realm his powers increase tremendously, and surely Videl could feel it. Despite that she didn't back down, and faced the giant Puipui head on.
Now the two were back to fighting equally. The dimension had heightened gravity but Videl was already accustomed to it, previously training in the gravity room with Gohan. She was still very dexterous, using submission techniques to dislocate or break Puipui's limbs. She wasn't allowed to use energy attacks, as Yakon would eat all her blasts as soon as they left her hands. Together Puipui and Yakon were hard to fight. It didn't take long for Puipui to fight back and damage Videl. Behind her bravado, she really hoped Gohan would teleport in any second now.
…
…
But it turns out Gohan was really busy. You couldn't believe how strong that guy was; and if the black hair and earthling similarity didn't give it away, he was a Saiyan. He couldn't understand how a Saiyan could be so powerful; this guy would've killed Frieza for sure when he was alive. He must've been from way before the empire. Gohan was put in a corner; he already used Kaioken that day and wasn't willing to do it again. Despite his many skills and abilities, this guy had quite a bit of experience. Gohan was getting wrecked.
After a long battle, Gohan ended up roughed up on the ground, struggling while his opponent continued to tower over him. The man was a little disappointed that even after hundreds of years he couldn't find someone to give him a good challenge. He was about to kill him right there when suddenly another boy popped up out of the air.
Goten teleported in and managed to get Gohan away from his attack. He apologizes for being late, and tells the mysterious Saiyan that he would be his opponent now. They begin to fight, and it quickly becomes clear to the man that this boy and Gohan are roughly equal in power despite their age difference. Somehow Goten was born with even more potential than his brother, but he doesn't have nearly the same experience. Halfway through their fight, Gohan stepped up to fight the Saiyan as a team. "I'm not so weak as to let my little brother fight alone in my place!" he said.
With the two brothers fighting together, finally they managed to put this mysterious Saiyan on a spot. He had to stop holding back, and began using more brutal and violent moves on them. He was back at the advantage, and the two boys were back on the ground after a long battle. Despite their bloody bruises they continue to stand up and fight; the mysterious Saiyan at least complimented their tenacity. But it was obvious for the three of them who was going to win that fight if it dragged out too much.
Someone else had an idea to save them, and hopefully the world.
…
Back at Capsule Corp, the rest of the dragon team found a way to witness the many battles using the Capsule Corp personal satellite. They have been watching ever since the Galactic Patrol arrived on Earth; some of them were so kind as to hand out weapons for them to defend themselves against the hell warriors. Launch was having the time of her life as she snipes anyone she can see with a space gun. Soon the battles turned for the worst, as the strongest warriors from the past had returned for revenge.
Though everyone didn't know how to help, Chi-chi had an idea. She gave a goodbye hug to Bulma and Launch before running outside and jumping up to catch the yellow flying Nimbus.
She blasted after the fight against the Saiyan, and soon arrived.
"HEY!" she shouted, a scream so powerful that made the Saiyan recoil. "Get away from my sons, you big snot-picking degenerate!" She slowly started walking up to him, ripping out her sleeves as she prepared to fight if she had to. Goten and Gohan shouted at the top of her lungs for her to get away but she wouldn't listen; they were too broken to move.
Chi-chi knew there was a great chance she would die there, but she didn't care. She knows that if she dies, Gohan will most likely get mad enough to reach his super delinquent form, then he'll be able to defeat this guy and then Beerus. She turned to her sons one last time with a gentle smile and said, "boys, let mommy handle this okay?"
"You're their mother, huh? I see, so you are an Earthling." said the mysterious Saiyan. "Aren't you afraid to die?"
"Of course I am not! What parent wouldn't risk everything for their children?" she said.
The mysterious Saiyan closed his eyes and looked down, like that statement hurt his soul more than any of Gohan's punches thus far. He looked back and said, "You're right…"
Chi-chi started unleashing a lot of strikes, but the man just stood there, tanking all of her anger. For some reason the Saiyan lowered his energy to the point that the punches actually made an effect. His spirit became so somber; it even felt like he wanted to die again at that moment. Eventually he recomposed, and suddenly he grabbed Chi-chi by the arm. "I'm sorry, but it's over."
And so the Saiyan threw a punch. Chi-chi could feel it coming in slow motion despite it being faster than light. It was pure incoming death. In those last moments, she looked back and wondered if she was ever a good mother, or a good wife at all. She never really knew; she didn't have a mother. All she knows about moms came from magazines and TV shows. But at the very least she was glad both her sons grew to be the best at everything they tried to accomplish. She closed her eyes and expected to meet Goku soon.
…
The punch was stopped. It almost sounded like a nuclear explosion going off as it made contact. Gohan had teleported to Chi-chi's side, and held the Saiyan's strike with one hand. She fell to the floor, unconscious by the shock wave. Gohan said, "I don't understand… How pathetic can I be… for this to keep on happening again and again… until I win?
…I'm sorry, but not anymore."
Gohan had already gained the power and the determination to change his fate of endless suffering. With the absolute rage that boiled over, his power increased tremendously, and so he punched the Saiyan back. It was so powerful that he was sent flying, but it didn't stop there. Goten was also completely livid; blinded by pure rage. He teleported in and attacked the man before he could even understand what was happening. The two brothers summoned power from their rage, and they used it to destroy their opponent in combination. In the end the two united their forces for a double Kamehameha at their enemy, causing a massive explosion.
…
After some time it felt like victory was certain. They looked at the smoke until the Saiyan appeared again. The explosion completely obliterated his left arm and a bit of his chest. Upon seeing the damage he just received, the man wasn't scared. He smiled.
He took a stance, and from within he called out his darkest memories. The sheer hatred that the man felt for himself above any enemy was enough to corrupt his heart. In his scream of anger, thunder and lightning began emanating from his body, until… his hair turned golden, and his eyes green. The man properly introduced himself this time. "My name is Yamoshi… and I believe I was the first Saiyan to ever achieve… this. I don't know what you call it, and I don't care. Now let's fight for real."
No matter what they tried, even at the peak of their rage, there was no way they could match up to the power of a Super Saiyan; even if he only had one arm left. It didn't take long for the brothers to understand that this might be the end.

All over the planet, it seemed like nothing but hopeless battles left and right. All heroes of Earth had no advantage on their side; their enemies were insurmountable evils from the past; those guys can be considered the strongest people to ever go to hell.
How could nine warriors beat those odds all by themselves?
It only felt fair to the gods… that they bring the strongest in heaven to balance.
…
…
It wasn't long before the Z-warriors in Valhalla were told of what was happening. Gods of destruction, warriors from hell and now their past foes coming back. They could only look on in anger, seeing their friends and family dying without being able to interfere. But after a while, they met again with King Kai. He and the other three Kais have been discussing something important with Grand Kai all this time, and they finally came to a conclusion.
"This is the day of fate that I told you, Goku. For five million years we have prepared for this moment, and for the last twenty years I helped all of you train in order to survive what comes next." King Kai said. "It's time for you to come back home one final time, and help the living to defeat Beerus once and for all!"
"But how? We are dead!" said Piccolo.
"Universal rules state the following… spirits are allowed to be called back to the mortal realm for just 24 hours." said Grand Kai. "24 hours is literally all the time this universe has left. You boys have proven to be the strongest people we could ever hope to have. It's all or nothing; I'm too old to start the universe again, and I'm willing to overlook anything so it can be saved."
"But Dende is busy fighting that guy! Who's going to bring us back?" Yamcha asked.
"HAVE YOU KIDS FORGOTTEN ABOUT ME?!" said Baba, who suddenly appeared floating on a crystal ball. "I'm aware that I don't appear on your stories that much, but it doesn't mean I'm not here!"
"Sister, are you sure about this?" Roshi said.
"It's either this or destruction, what else do you want me to do? Let's just get on already, before anyone dies out there."
The warriors of Earth bow in respect to the Kais one final time before they accompany Baba back to Earth. King Kai will try to help them anyway he can, but for now this is either a victory march or a goodbye. And so the seven Z-warriors fade away from the other world, as all the hundreds of warriors from Valhalla cheer them on.

After one long decade, they are back. Goku, Piccolo, Tien, Yamcha, Krillin, Chiaotzu and Roshi appeared on a nice green hill towards the blue sky ahead. The beauty of planet Earth gladly welcomed back its fallen heroes in a moment of crisis. They looked back, only to see that Baba was now with a halo over her head as well. Apparently she used so much of her life force to bring them back that she died. They apologize for this but for her it didn't matter. She tells the boys to go save the universe, and so she fades away to enjoy the endless pleasantries of heaven. The warriors are left alone, gazing ahead as the soft wind passes by. All of them sport their own colors and skills now. Each is a master of their own.
"It feels so good to be back… It didn't change much after all, didn't it?" said Roshi.
"If only our one and only day could be spent on something more joyful than this…" said Krillin.
…
…
"Goku… before we go, I just wanted to thank you." Tien said. "If it weren't for you, I would probably end up another worthless mercenary just like master Shen and Tao Pai Pai. You guys taught me how to live life on my own terms… and I'm grateful for that."
"I'm quite sure master Shen would have Tien kill me as a last trial of the crane school. I guess I should give my thanks as well." said Chiaotzu.
"You boys brought some joy to my old bones. I never thought my life would turn for the better after three hundred years- it goes to show you how life can be surprising. Goku, Krillin, Yamcha… you made me very proud." said Roshi.
"Sure, I own pretty much everything I have to you. If I didn't tag along you guys back then, I'm pretty sure I would still be just a piss bandit in Diablo Desert. It was nice knowing you, Goku, and we're buddies for life and death!" said Yamcha.
"Yeah, I was a little bit of a douche back then, but… Thank you for being my first friend, Goku. I'm sorry for all the times you had to save my skin." Krillin said.
"I was literally born to kill you, so I supposed I should thank you for being here today. Hitting you in the face for all these years was pretty great." Said Piccolo.
Goku was scratching the back of his head with a big smile. "Aw, come on you guys, don't act like I'm some cupid or something, I was just doing what I wanted to do. I needed you all way more than you needed me, to be honest. What's good about having all this strength if I can't help anyone with it?… you're the ones who taught me that.
…
…
Listen, we all have been through a lot. It was one great adventure… but I think it all ends today. Even if we win, this is the last we can do. So please, Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha, master, Chiaotzu and Tien… Let's do it with all we got… one more time."
The smiles in their faces had soon disappeared; exchanged by a mean glare that welcomes the challenges ahead with no fear. They began stretching and cracking their bones as they decided what to do.
"I'm going to help my daughter. Leave Cold to me." Tien said. "I'm coming with you," said Chiaotzu.
"17 and 18 are a bit of a hassle… I think if we wake Cell from Gero's control he might stop the fight. I'm going there." Krillin said. "18? you mean the blond hottie? Count me in!" said Roshi.
"Frieza seems to be causing Boku some trouble; I think I might slice him in half real quick. Sounds good?" Yamcha said.
"Slug is mine." Piccolo said.
"I'll go help Gohan then." Goku said.
Everyone was ready. They look at each other one final time before blasting off, each going in a different direction. Finally, their strength found a meaning once more.

As they depart, Beerus stops eating for a moment. Their huge power alarmed him, but so he smiled and said, "This might end up being the best day of my life."
