Chapter Complete but Delayed
Hello, sorry for taking so long again, everyone.
-Good news: I finally finished the next chapter of Bleach: Ultimate Alien.
-Bad news: I'm getting ready to send it to be proofread and the chapter itself is a lengthy one: 53 pages and over 14,000 words.
-I never expected it to become that long and I'm seriously trying to think of ways to write shorter chapters. Trim the fat as it were. Problem is there's so much stuff I feel needs to be covered.
-Due to the length, it will naturally take time to proofread everything but since I kept everyone waiting for months, I wanted you to at least know what was going on. Once the chapter is fully proofread, I'll post it ASAP.
-Of course, you're all wondering what took me so long to update in the first place. Well, shortly after I posted the previous chapter, lots of things happened.
-Some were good, like visiting my relatives and celebrating my birthday.
-Some were bad like somebody trying to steal my identity, medical scares, and a lot of crazy work drama.
-The biggest reason I took so long, however, was because some of those events made me prioritize my original stories over my fanfiction.
-Unfortunately, I couldn't make up my damn mind about what idea I was going to stick with but I was so determined to write something original. By the time I finally got my act together, so many months had passed. I finally have it all together and am working on a balance between my story and my fanfiction.
-One last thing: Julie did not die in this story. I noticed some people assumed I killed her off; I guess my choice of words were a little too vague regarding her.
-Originally I was going to have her experience what happened in my previous fic: she got hurt during an adventure with Ben and then her parents took away when she recovered.
-Looking over my fic though, I feel that I should have had Ben think more about Julie, even if in passing. Because I only mention her in a total of three chapters out of the entire fic, doing that to her felt wrong. So I decided to change it; as well as alter Paradox's dialogue to Thorn regarding Julie.
-While I did want her to get brought up in this chapter, I couldn't find a spot where that conversation could fit in. So I'm saving Ben talking about her for a future chapter.
-One last thing, my heart goes out to all the people who've been affected by Hurricane Helene. I'm sorry for your losses and hope things will get better soon.
