As he retreats nagate yells looks like the flood exist in this universe. Hoshijiro-Wait were in another universe how? Nagate-That's a long story to tell. All explain once were back on the condor. Lucent what stage is the spore outbreak at? Lucent-It's at the coordinated stage. Nagate-You need to activate the self-destruct to the station. We cant let it get to the interstellar stage. Lucent-But we can't. Theres important data on here that needs to be saved. Nagate-Can it be downloaded. Lucent-Yes but the drives to download were destroyed when the outbreak first started. Nagate-Dam it. Hoshijiro-I can download it. Nagate-Wait you can do that how? Hoshijiro-I don't know. Lucent-It's because of me I upgraded her just in case. Hoshijiro-Why would you do that? Lucent- Because you two are the only hope this universe has at stopping the flood and the gauna.
Nagate looks at her confused then lucent leads nagate to the computer storage room and as nagate gets to a console he places hoshijiro on it and she begins to go through it she says ok lucent I've got the files pulled up, but they're all encrypted. Lucent-Oh no they're not supposed to be encrypted. As they contemplate on what to do nagate continues firing at the flood then yells what's the holdup hoshijiro. Hoshijiro-Slight problem all the files are encrypted and will take a while to open them then download them. Nagate-Just take them as they are. Will decrypted back on the forward unto dawn.
Hoshijiro-Wait the dawn survived how? As nagate reloads he replies again long story. Just start downloading I can't hold these guys off forever. Hoshijiro-Right…downloading now. As she begins downloading the files nagate tries to contact izana but only gets static then yells hey lucent my radio is being jammed what's up with that. Lacent-I don't know ah the station radio jammers they must have been activated somehow. Nagate-Why does this station even have jammers? Before she can answer a flood spore attacks her and begins to drag her away but nagate sees it then shoots it off her. Lucent says thanks then nagate yells how we doing hoshi? Hoshijiro replies I've downloaded all the files were good to go then nagate puts his hand over her and after she goes back into the chip they retreat to the condor. Nagate-Lacent please tell me you can activate the self-destruct remotely? Lacent-I can. Nagate-Good as soon as we clear the station blow the station. Lucent-But where will I go? Nagate-You can come with me. Lacent-Are you shore? Nagate-Better than getting blown up. Lucent says true then continues following nagate and as he gets closer to the hanger, he yells izana do you copy. Izana-I copy what's going on? Nagate-Just have your self-sealed in a room.
Izana-Why what's going on? As she waits for a reply she then hears gun fire over the radio then nagate yells just do it izana. Izana panics then she does what nagate says and locks herself in a room. As nagate then gets to hanger more flood appear out of know where and nagate manages to fend them off then as he quickly opens the door to the condor he yells lucent get in. Lucent rushes into it then nagate quickly hopes in and closes the door. He rushes to the cockpit then grabs the controls and flies the condor out of the hanger. Nagate-Alright lucent blow it. As lucent sends out a signal she then says oh no. Nagate-Oh no what? Lucent-The self-destruct has been disabled I can't destroy it. Nagate-Then we move to plan b. Lucent-What's plan b? As nagate pilots the ship towards the station he says I'm going to take out the station's gravity generators, but I need the coordinates. It'll fall right into the sun and destroy it. Lucent says alright and types the coordinates to the generators then nagates opens fire on it. The missiles destroy the generator making the station begin to fall into the sun burning the hull then as it explodes on impact nagate jumps to slip space. As he gets up, he then goes to a decontamination room and as he rinses down izana says is it safe for me to come out nagate. Nagate replies hold on then as he looks at the scanners, he sees there are no flood spores on him then says your clear to come out.
As izana comes out she says what happened over there nagate…and what is that? She sees the monitor floating over her then lucent says hello I'm 220 lucent axiom. I was the monitor of that space station, but we had to destroy it to contain the outbreak. Izana-Out break what are you talking about? Nagate-Back in my universe there was a parasitic alien lifeform called the flood. They can infect any living host, even dead, and change their form so they can take control of it. Izana-Scary it sounds like their the gauna but smaller. Nagate-At least for the flood you can kill them with just bullets. I lost some good people to the flood when I was an odst. Izana-I'm sorry nagate. Nagate-Its ok…anyways there someone else I want you to meet. Izana says ok then as he puts his hand out hoshijiro comes out on it and izana replies hoshijiro. Hoshijiro-Yes that's my name but how did you know. Izana-Because I had friend who looked exactly like you and was named hoshijiro too. Hoshijiro-I see well it nice to meet you. Izana-What are you exactly? Hoshijiro-I'm an artificial intelligence created by the unsc to help the spartan teams. Izana-I see…is this why you couldn't tell us. Nagate-Yes and the reason is because spartan ai can contain classified information. Izana-ok Nagate-Come on let's get to the cockpit it's going to be a bit before we get back to Sidonia.
Izana says alright and they head off to the cockpit. As an hour passes nagate has hoshijiro scan other solar systems for anything and as he looks over, he sees izana asleep in the seat. He then gets up grabs a blanket from the back and as he puts it on izana he smiles making hoshijiro notice then as he sits back down, she smirks at him making him say what. Hoshijiro-You always had a kind heart when she was with you. Nagate replies I know what you mean then as he continues looking at the monitors, he doesn't realize izana was awake when they were talking and she tries to back to sleep she says in her head wonder who he was talking about then she closes her eyes. Back on the Sidonia yuhata is on the bridge going over schematics for new guards until one of the crew says sir, we've got a contact on the third security boarder. Yuhata-Is it nagate? Crew-It is sir they're just landing right now. Yuhata-Alright have a med team meet me there. Crew-Understood sir. Yuhata brings her station up then heads to hanger and as she arrives the condor touches down. As the door to the condor opens up nagate walks out with izana then yuhata rushes over to hug izana and says are you alright izana. Izana-I'm alright yuhata. As yuhata then looks at nagate she says to him what we're thinking bringing her along? Nagate-Hey don't look at me it was her idea to sneak aboard without telling me. Yuhata-Wait you snuck aboard his ship without telling me or him. Izana looks away sad and says I'm sorry I just didn't want nagate to go alone. Yuhata walks up, takes her hand, and says I understand. Just next time tell me before you do something like that. Izana says I will then as they hug nagate looks down a bit sad then yuhata goes to nagate and says did you find what you were looking for? As nagate replies I did he then sticks out his hand and as hoshijiro appears before them he then says I like you to meet my partner hoshijiro. Yuhata gets surprised and as she looks at her she says you look exactly like our old friend of hoshijiro. Hoshijiro-So I've been told. What was she like? Yuhata-She was the nicest person you could ever know and was a great pilot. Hoshijiro-I see. As they continue to talk lucent comes out making the guard jump back then yuhata says what is that? As the guards point their guns at lucent nagate goes in between them and says wow hold your fire she's not a threat. This is 220 lucent axiom she was the monitor of the space station we were on. Yuhata-What do you mean was? Nagate-I think we better discuss that in private. Yuhata replies alright then leads nagate and lucent to the bridge personnel quarters.
After arriving he explains about the forerunners, halo rings and the flood then yuhata says so these flood spores are a parasite and can infect any living thing. Nagate-Yeah Yuhata-And these forerunners created these installations called halo rings to eradicate the flood. Nagates-That's correct. Yuhata-Well then that's good. Nagate-Not exactly. Yuhata-What you mean? Lucent-The halo arrays were design to wipe out all sentient life in the galaxy robbing the flood of hosts and starving it to death. Yuhata-That sounds terrible. Lucent-It was but it was only way at the time to eliminate the flood parasite. Yuhata-I see…if they still exist could they destroy the gauna. Nagate-You cant be series yuhata? Yuhata-If we can somehow reprogram the halo rings, they could wipe out the gauna and we wouldn't have to live in fear of them anymore. Nagate-Yuhata there is no reprograming the halo rings were only designed to wipe out organic life in the galaxy right lucent? Lucent-That's not entirely true. Nagate-Wait your saying the rings can be reprogramed and only target the gauna. Lucent-Its possible but I need to look at the gaunas structure to create an algorithm, so the halo arrays only target them but there's another problem. Yuhata- What's that lucent. Lucent- I don't know where the halo rings are. Yuhata-What how? Lucent-The coordinates to the rings were never transmitted to the station by the time they were activated. But I know how we can find them.
Yuhata-How? Nagate-The keystones. Yuhata-Keystones? Lacent replies these and shows 2 images of the keystones one bigger and one smaller then says the keystones were crafted to hold the coordinates of the sacred rings, but only certain individuals can access them so no other species or spies can access the relics. Nagate-Then how was I able to access it. The artifact showed me a vision of the space station and the halo ring. Lucent-That shouldn't be possible the keystones were only designed to show where the halo arrays are. Yuhata-Unless it has a secondary purpose. Lucent-Maybe but I won't know until I look at it. Nagate-I can show you lucent its on my ship…yuhata for now let's keep rings and the knowledge of the forerunners a secret. Yuhata-Shouldn't the others know what about izana. Nagate-Especially izana I don't want her getting suspicious or least of all hurt…not like last time. Yuhata-What do you mean last time? Nagate replies nothing then as he leaves, he says all let you know if I find anything else I'm going to be on my ship for a while. Yuhata says ok then after he leaves, she contacts the security team saying team you can stand down and return to your normal duties. Security-Are you shore what if he tries something? Yuhata-He won't. Security-How do you know? As yuhata looks out the window she says because he cares about the people here and wants to help. The security officer says understood then as the call ends yuhata wonders what nagate meant when he said not like last time. Meanwhile on the dawn nagate and hoshijiro go through the ships data then she says I've managed to decrypt about half of the ships data, but the rest is still corrupt which is weird. Nagate-How so? Hoshijiro-The data that's in the ship appears to be forerunner data.
Nagate-Forerunner data how can that be? I thought ships like these couldn't hold massive amounts of data. Hoshijiro-Not typically but this data appeared when we exited the forerunner dimension gate. Nagate-Dimension what now? Hoshijiro replies dimension gate then she shows a hologram image of it then she says the dimension gate is what brought us here. Nagate-Strange that doesn't look like forerunner technology. Hoshijiro- It's not another race built it. Nagate-Who? Hoshijiro-Unclear that part of info is still corrupted. Nagate-Lucent do you know anything about that. Lucent-No I didn't even know such a thing existed it must have been highly classified. Nagate-I see…if this gate brought us here you think it could bring us back? Lucent-Possibly but we still need to find it and figure out how it works. Hoshijiro-Indeed all go through the data and see…Nagate-See what hoshi? Hoshijiro-Weve got intruders onboard. Nagate-What where? Show me. Hoshijiro brings up a feed of the security cameras to see three little girls with pink hair roaming the halls then one of them says we shouldn't be doing this. Ryou is going to kill us if she finds out we snuck aboard this alien ship. Raku-Oh come on rin this is our chance to check out a ship from another world and it's not alien its human ship. Rin-How do you even know its from another world?
Raku-I mean just look at the way it's designed it's got more weapons and gear then there's the name its not in our modern language. Rin-True but what if the other nagate catches us. Raku replies as she turns around relax were not going to get caught by the other nagate then she runs into him making her say he's right behind me isn't he. Rin and Shoku both nodes yes in a scared way then raku turns around nervously and says ha ha hey nagate. Nagate-What are you three doing on my ship? Raku-We just wanted a chance to check it out. Rin-For the record it was her idea. Raku-What you said you wanted to come aboard to check out the cool ship and you shoku wanted to check out the tech. Shoku says what you rin and as they begin to fight nagate yells enough making them stop. Nagate-None of you are even supposed to be on my ship this is a military vessel and you're lucky I turned off the automated systems it could have killed you. All three of them make scared faces then at the same time say were sorry and as they look at him with tears, he pats raku on the head and says it's alright you don't need to cry. As roku replies ok their stomachs growl then nagate says you three hungry. The three reply yes then he says follow me and leads them to the mess hall. As they get there the three sit down and nagate begins making food for them. They look around and talk among themselves until nagate brings over three plates and says here you go. The three look at the plates weirdly then raku says what is this? Nagate-Peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Have you not had them before? Roku-Weve had sandwiches before but nothing like this. Nagate-Well let me know what you think. The three of them look at each other nervously then roku picks it up sniffs it then after she takes a bite, she says oh wow this is really good. Rin and shoku look at each other then they pick it up and after biting in they say wow this is good. Nagate smiles then says I'm glad then hoshijiro calls him on the coms and says ah nagate we got someone approaching the ship.
Nagate-Show me? Hoshi pulls a up a view screen to see a tall girl with long pink hair coming up to the ship and when nagate shows raku he says is that your sister. Raku looks then spits out her water and says oh crud that's our oldest sister ryou. She going to kill us. The three all look down with pale faces then nagate says don't worry all take the blame. Raku looks up saying are you shore then nagate pats her on the head and says you girls are still kids and were curious to explore. It'll be ok. Roku smiles then hugs nagate as do the other two. Minutes later ryou approaches the door to the ship and as she's about to knock the doors open up with nagate and the three honoka's hiding behind him then he says hello there. Ryou-Hi there nagate…its ah nice to meet you I'm ryou. Nagate-It's nice to meet you to. As ryou slightly blushes at nagate she then looks behind him to see her sisters hiding then she gives the death glare and says you three are in so much trouble. The three get scared at her tone then nagate steps in and says hey don't blame them ryou they were just curious. Ryou-Curious or not they shouldn't have gone on without my permission, yours or the captains.
Plus, they had studying they needed to do. Nagate looks down at them and says is that right. The three look up guilty then nagate says well we should probably get you back home so you can study. The three reply ok then nagate and ryou walk them back to the honoka residents and along the way nagate enjoys the views of Sidonia. Ryou-So how are you liking Sidonia so far. Nagate-Its very beautiful. The city reminds me of new Alexandria. Ryou-What's New Alexandria? Nagate-A city I grew up in on reach. Ryou-I see…why was it named that? Nagate-It was named after one of the first settlers on reach when my ancestors first ventured into the stars. Ryou-I see. As they continue walking rin rubs her eyes and as she yawns nagate bends down and says hop on my back rin. Rin says ok then after she climbs on nagate lifts her up and as they continue to walk nagate looks behind him making ryou say what is it nagate. Nagate-Nothing thought something was behind me. Ryou replies ok and as they continue walking an elite hiding in the shadows comes out and says what's the progress on our ship. Elite-Slip space drive is still down. We're going to need more time. Elite-Understood but picking up the pace. This demon doesn't know we are here.
And if he finds out we won't be able to complete our mission. Elite-Understood. As the elite closes his communicator, he then looks onwards towards nagate smirks then cloaks. Back with nagate him and ryou have arrived at the honoka resident and as they go in nagate says this is quite the place you girls live in. Ryou-Indeed it is. As they lay the girls in bed roku wakes up and says thank you for the meal earlier it was good. He smiles as he puts a blanket on her then after leaving the room they head out to a balcony. As nagate looks onward towards the city lights ryou comes out with two cups of tea and says here I made some sweet tea. Nagate-Thanks ryou…this is really good tea. Ryou-One of my favorites. As they look onwards nagate says I can't remember the last time I felt this calm. Ryou-This tea does help calm the nerves. When was the last time you had some? Nagate-Right before reach was invaded the covenant, I was having it with someone I once loved. Ryou-I see…How is your loved one? Nagate-She's dead. Ryou-Oh I see…how did she die? Nagate-She was killed by an elite when we we're evacuating with another group of Spartans from a mission we completed.
Ryou-What was the mission? Nagate-We were task with reactivating the defense systems in the city then locate any surviving citizens that needed help and evac them to a pelican. Ryou-What's a pelican? Nagate-Their troop carriers meant for medium operations, and they can transport vehicles too. Ryou-Sound amazing. Nagate-Yeah, they're pretty handy. My ship has a few stored on including two condors. Ryou-That's good. Nagate-Well I should probably head back to my ship. Ryou-Alright. As Ryou escorts nagate out she says thank you for looking for my sisters nagate. Nagate-No problem, Ryou. I was happy looking out for them. Ryou blushes then she fidgets a little then as she says ah nagate making him says yeah then she goes up to him kisses him on the cheek then heads back inside. Nagate stands there surprised and blushing as does ryou then he smiles and as he heads on back to his ship ryou watches then says I can't believe I just did that.
