Chloe opened her eyes and just stretched herself out,they'd had a wonderful meal and talked all evening their love making had been exquisite and she was still tired and quite deliciously sore. It was still dark so she looked at her clock it was 1am she'd only been asleep for an hour or so but she felt uneasy.
She knew something was wrong because Lucifer wasn't cuddled up behind her as he normally would be,she shivered a little as his body heat was absent and she missed it.
She got out of bed, she was naked as was normal when Trixie wasn't with them, she looked around and saw the shirt that he'd been wearing earlier hanging up where he'd put it for her. He knew by now that she liked to wear his shirts,she put it on and she could smell his unique scent, sandalwood with a hint of sulphur he didn't understand it but she loved the smell.
She walked into the open plan living area of the penthouse but didn't see him and then she saw the balcony door was open,he was sat outside on the two seat lounger that he'd purchased in his words so "you and the urchin can sit together detective".
She however thought he bought it so they could sit cuddled together on evenings like these,he was sat with a glass of whiskey in his hand.
"Lucifer,what are you doing out here". She asked concern in her voice.
"I couldn't sleep and didn't want to wake you". He answered.
"You should have,I wouldn't mind". She told him.
She grabbed a blanket as she stepped out onto the balcony,she sat down on his lap and pulled the blanket over them,she rested her head on his shoulder and pulled his arms around her.
She knew that sometimes he struggled with things and when he had these moments talking didn't really help,so she sat there and cuddled into him letting him know she was there for him.
She shivered so he pulled her in a bit tighter, she turned her head up and kissed him lightly on one stubbled cheek.
"I love you Lucifer". She told him as she kissed him lightly.
"I love you too". He replied.she rested her head again.
After a little while he noticed the tone of her breathing change and knew she'd fallen asleep.
She shivered in her sleep so he picked her up and carried her back to bed.
He laid down and pulled her into him making her the little spoon and then unfurled his wings and wrapped them around her. Lucifer had never really known peace until moments like these,he held her like she was the most precious thing in existence and let slumber take him.
