After the Nine-Tails' attack:
Everything had relatively calmed down after the giant beast's attack was up, Danzo found it as the perfect opportunity to go on with his plans, so he called for a meeting between the clan heads and Hiruzen. The heads thought it was discussion on what to do next and how to handle stuff going forward, but only Fugaku knew what the bastard was going to do, 'He… he pushed us to guard the borders, he didn't agree to my request… and now he's going to blame us since everyone saw the Nine-Tails' eyes…' Fugaku thought, trying his hardest not to growl at fate's poor joke.
Walking towards the meeting hall, seeing the hospital he quickly decided to pay that place a visit. Walking up the stairs of the hospital, going to the first floor where the newborns were kept, there he saw him, 'Minato's boy… what luck must it be to be born to the Hokage and not being able to see him…' Fugaku thought, 'No matter… I will take this one in as my own.' His thoughts continued.
Minutes later he arrived to the meeting hall and the meeting started, "The first and foremost, The Uchiha… you cannot deny their involvement in the Nine-Tails' attack. There's no doubt about it." Danzo begun, looking at Fugaku, who had a blank expression due to him trying his hardest to not glare at Danzo, "Hm… weren't the Uchiha on the borders? How could one of them even find the time to attack? According to others present there, none of them left, they did die but no one left. So, it is someone who stole those eyes or a runaway ninja" Shikaku said, he was the most intelligent person in that meeting room by far, being the head of the Nara clan requires some wits after all, Fugaku nodded at the lazy man, Danzo simply shrugged, "There's never been any Uchiha leaving the village since Uchiha Madara." he said, "We can't point any fingers still Danzo, what he's saying could very well be true" Hiruzen interrupted, Danzo was frustrated by Hiruzen, "well, we better take precautions here, the Uchiha will be moved to the corner of the village, near the Naka River and the shrine. This will allow us to monitor your behavior" he said, Fugaku looked like he was going to burst into a fit of rage, but kept calm. "Do whatever you will, but no one's stopping me from adopting that child." He said getting up, "It is my order that you won't." Danzo ordered, "Orders revoked, you are good to proceed" Hiruzen said giving Fugaku a thumbs up, he nodded and left the hall, "Do you really think that keeping a literal ticking time bomb with them is a good idea?" Danzo asked, venomously spitting out the word 'them'. "Neither do I think nor know that it's a good idea to keep him with them, but sometimes you got to experiment. This meeting is over." Hiruzen said getting up, along with him the other clan heads too got up and left.
After the room was completely clear as everyone was gone, a masked figure walked to the center of the hall where the table was, on it was the map of Konoha, "The Naka River and the shrine… so close to the border of Konoha I could consider it outside, sighs" the figure said to himself, walking to the seat where Fugaku sat previously, he took the seat for himself to feel what that man must have felt, "I can feel his rage lingering in the room even after he and everyone's gone… So, this is the consequence of my actions?" the figure questioned itself, on his mask was a single hole through which a red glow emerged, the glow of a lone Sharingan, rage and regret filled the masked man, though one wouldn't be able to see it due to his mask. And then he laughed, it was a condescending one, "What did you think was going to happen!? Stupid man… there's nothing I can do to change what has already happened! But… there is something I can do to begin change…" he said, his tone crazed and his emotions raw, using the ability of his lone eye he warped away in a swirl.
With Fugaku
Leaving the meeting room, the Uchiha head felt a rush of emotions that he had never experienced in his life ever, maybe in the war yes, but outside of war never had such happen to him. Moments later he was once again in the same place before the meeting, the hospital, "So, how was the meeting Fugaku?" a woman asked, she had long black hair, she wore a brown blouse and a purple skirt, she was also holding an infant in her arms, "Mikoto… It was… not good, not at all… if I could I would have murdered that bastard right then and there…" he said, his head lay low from anger, Mikoto knew not to ask further, "So, what about Naruto?" she asked, "He's an unlucky child… we'll be adopting him." Fugaku replied to the joy of Mikoto, but then her face formed a look of confused thinking, "Who's last name are we going to give him?" she asked, "Hmm… giving him the Uchiha name will not be good… How about Kushina's? Naruto Uzumaki, that has a nice ring to it right?" he suggested, she nodded in agreement.
Just then, the head doctor came to see what they were doing, "Oh, the children's ward? Do you want to adopt one?" she asked the two, Fugaku nodded at her, "Well, tell me which one it is and fill the forms and you guys are good to go!" she replied a smile forming on her face, Mikoto told her which child it was and the doctor smiled again and gave her the paperwork to fill out. Minutes later Mikoto handed the papers to the doctor back, "Hmm… poor thing, I don't know who its parents are… but at least it's got you two!" she said, lifting Fugaku's mood a little, taking the child in his arms Fugaku felt despair fill his being to the brim, "Mikoto… take Suki home with you, I will be back in a bit." He told her, she nodded but stood for a moment to look at him, "I… I just need to take a walk around." He said, finally lifting his head to look at her. She nodded again and left.
Waiting for a moment he left himself, walking down the road with a child in his arms was quite the sight for the civilians and ninja, because for everyone: Fugaku Uchiha did not function on his emotions, rarely letting them slip onto his face. But unlike most times, his face let others know that he was tired. He walked and walked like that until he reached the Hokage rock, there he stood on the head of his friend; Minato Namikaze. "Grow up to become just as legendary and well known of a man as he was, Uzumaki Naruto" he said, a tired sigh escaping his mouth, cutting himself some slack, he sat down cross legged on Minato's head. "I will make sure you know everything about them, I don't care about the rules…" he said, he knew that there was no one there to listen and the boy could not understand speech, not yet at least. But he had to speak everything that he wanted to, he activated his Mangekyou Sharingan, "And you, you will not dare torment this child, I know how much you hate these eyes, but I know that you hate them just as much as you fear them" he said looking at Naruto's belly, he felt the Nine-Tails' Chakra spike a bit, meaning it heard what it needed to.
In Naruto's mindscape, the Nine-Tails was furious at Fugaku's warning, "How dare you talk to me like that mortal?!" the giant beast howled, "You think of me to be a cockroach that you can crush easily?" it quietly growled, "You and your cursed bloodline were doomed to destruction from the fucking beginning!" it spoke, knowing truths about this world that no one else knew, it had seen the beginning of many things and also their tragic end.
Then Fugaku deactivated his Sharingan and looked forward, the sun was setting and it was about to be night.
In about 10 minutes he was back at his home in the Uchiha compound, 'I will remember this place I guess…' he thought, knowing that you have to leave the place of your residence makes you appreciate it so much more than you did before. "I am back home" he said opening the door, Mikoto and his son Itachi came to greet him, "You are quite late Fugaku" Mikoto said, "Yeah… I did not realize the time passing" he said taking his shoes off, "Father, who's that?" Itachi asked pointing to the infant Naruto in his arms, "This Itachi is your adopted younger brother. His name's Naruto Uzumaki" Fugaku told the boy patting his head.
At Kakashi's place
The next day Kakashi woke up to the sunlight being right up in his face, growling he covered his eyes with his hand only to realize that he could not feel his mask, panicked he stood up with a kunai in his hand ready to attack, but he did not feel anyone's presence in his apartment, 'Wait… why is my vision normal? Isn't the Sharingan supposed to enhance it?' he thought confused. he walked up to the sink to wash his face, and then took a look at himself, his eyes widened in pure shock, 'Where's Obito's left eye!?' he thought.
Quickly he got ready putting the mask back on, his headband covering his left eye and jumped over the rooftops, 'should I pay Fugaku Sama a visit? Yeah, I guess' he thought, after all it was a matter about the Sharingan eye, the most precious possession of the Uchiha. Quickly making it to the Uchiha head's house, he knocked at the door, "Who is it?" Mikoto asked from inside, "It's Kakashi Hatake, Mikoto Sama" he said, "Oh Kakashi! What brings you here?" she asked, "It's important business Mikoto Sama, it's about my left eye" he said in a low regretful tone, hearing him speak in such a manner she too got serious and asked him to enter the house, which he did. She asked him to sit on a sofa in the living room and asked Itachi to go to the Uchiha police headquarters to fetch his father.
A few minutes later Fugaku came home and went straight to the living room, on a sofa sat Kakashi and opposite to him sat Mikoto. "So, what's the matter?" Fugaku asked her, "Kakashi, you should tell him yourself" she told Kakashi, he had his head hung low but hearing her say that, he looked at Fugaku who took a seat beside Mikoto, "Sighs, I woke up today, my mask was removed, which I did not remove myself prior to sleeping. I could not feel it so I panicked thinking someone was in my apartment, no one was there. Then I went to wash my face and looked in the mirror, and instead of Obito's Sharingan, I have a normal eye" Kakashi explained, Mikoto nodded, Fugaku gave it a thought, "It is a weird and worrying situation, but I have a hunch, listening to your explanation I couldn't stop wondering if the tablet is true or false" Fugaku said, Kakashi was confused but Mikoto looked almost surprised, "Fugaku! Are you really questioning the tablet like that?" Mikoto asked him, "If I don't, no one else will Mikoto, and you know that this is the perfect opportunity to do that" he told her, Kakashi was visibly sweating thinking they were going to put him under some gruesome experimentation or something, "Kakashi, do me a favor and spar with me" Mikoto requested looking at him, he nodded in agreement.
The three went to the courtyard, Kakashi and Mikoto got ready for the spar, Kakashi was asked to take his mask off, which he did, "When you two are ready, Fight!" Fugaku announced, the two stood there for a few seconds, just then Mikoto activated her Sharingan, they had three Tomoe in them, giving her an absolute advantage over the ANBU member. In an instant she was behind him landing a punch on his face too fast to be perceived, then another punch in the back of his head and then another on his left thigh and then another one in his back, the force of which sent him crashing in the wall, 'Damn! She's strong for a retired kunoichi, guess why Fugaku Sama acts somewhat different when he's with her' Kakashi thought, and then Mikoto produced a kunai in her right hand, with a speed boost provided by her Chakra, she directly aimed for Kakashi's left eye, she was way too fast for him and when she was in the range, something snapped in Kakashi; the loss of his sensei, the broken promise, the burdens he had carried for so long and the discovery of today. The weight of it all being too much for the poor boy to handle. Kakashi in an instant, blitzed the older woman with speed twice as fast as hers if not faster, his kunai was inches away from the back of her neck, "This spar is over, I have lost…" she said, regaining her posture, she took a look at the boy and she was shocked at what she saw, "Fugaku… you were right, that theory needed testing…" she said still in shock, Fugaku came and took a look at Kakashi himself.
Fugaku went in the house and came back with a mirror, "Take a look at yourself boy, you have achieved something that was supposed to be impossible" Fugaku said, Kakashi anxiously took a look too, "But… how can I have two Sharingan eyes? I… I am not even an Uchiha… then how did I deactivate them and reactivated them…?" Kakashi was to say the least flabbergasted at the realization that he now had two Sharingan eyes and the ability to turn them on and off. "You see Kakashi, in our clan, there is a stone tablet kept hidden from most people, even most of our clan members don't know about it. The stone tablet was written by the creator of everything, this creator of everything was the father of the first Uchiha, our ancestor. Now, a century ago, Madara Uchiha was skeptical of it and said that it could not be true. Which enraged the whole clan and he had no one with him, that was one of the reasons why he left the leaf. Now, there's this one sentence in the tablet, 'Someone not of the clan will never have the intrinsic ability to activate and deactivate the eyes.' What you showed us today proves that statement wrong, because the way you did it is an intrinsic ability" Fugaku told Kakashi, the boy was too stunned to speak, Mikoto placed a talisman on Kakashi's head, he got out of the stupor and took the talisman, "This talisman is for good luck, but you can also use this to enter the compound without a problem" Mikoto explained, he nodded.
Fugaku motioned him to leave and take rest, so Kakashi left the place and went back to his apartment, the two looked at each other, knowing that they had a shit load of stuff to take care of, but then Fugaku's expression changed to a bit confused, "All right, now tell me where's Itachi gone now? Like where is he all the time? He can't train 24/7" Fugaku said, "Oh, he mostly does train but he also hangs out with a girl…" Mikoto said in a mischievous tone, choosing to look directly up the sky, Fugaku wiped a comically large imaginary bead of sweat off of his face, "Few, and here I thought my boy was going to turn out asexual" he said, and just then as it was customary, a frying pan hit the back of his head, "Ouch! What was that for!?" he whined in pain, "That bonk was for being an idiot, he's a child, of course he doesn't know shit about romance or whatever" she scolded him, Fugaku was a bit annoyed by the fact that he was bonked by a frying pan, but all he could do was leave and go the police headquarters once again. Mikoto sighed, and went back inside the house.
About half an hour later Mikoto once again heard a knock on the door, "God, just give me a break. Who's there?" she said, "It's me, Itachi" Itachi said from behind the door, she opened the door and as expected there was Itachi, but also a girl, "Oh Itachi! You brought home a girl? What's her name?" Mikoto asked, Itachi to his credit tried his best and almost succeeded in hiding his blush, but he did a little, "I am Izumi Uchiha, nice to meet you Mikoto sama!" the girl introduced herself, Mikoto looked the girl up and down and then looked at Itachi's expression, 'How funny' she thought, "Hi Izumi! Nice to meet you too!" Mikoto said. Taking out their shoes Itachi and Izumi went to the upstairs room where Naruto and Suki were sleeping, 'Itachi and Izumi. Sounds great!' she thought. She went back to the kitchen.
Upstairs, was a sight to see for the two children, because instead of Naruto and Suki sleeping in their cribs, those two were sleeping on the floor beside each other, "How in the mother of God does this happen? And how did neither get hurt?" Izumi said, Itachi was just as surprised as she was, "Board games?" Itachi asked her, she nodded in agreement. And so, they started playing chess.
10 minutes passed and Mikoto decided to check on the kids and went up. It was an even better sight to see, they were playing chess, Itachi had the white pieces and Suki on his lap and Izumi had the black pieces and Naruto on her lap, Mikoto was just barely keeping herself from bursting into laughter, 'How does such instance even occur? But whatever, they are all soooooo cute' she thought, "So, who's winning this match?" she asked, "Neither, this match is a stalemate" Izumi replied, "This match? How many matches have you two even played?" Mikoto asked, "Counting this one, 5" Itachi said, preparing the pieces for another match.
All of a sudden, Naruto started crying loudly, Izumi tried to calm him but to no avail, "Aww, Naruto stop crying, you are a strong kid remember!" Mikoto cooed Naruto, and he stopped crying. After that Mikoto joined the children and they had even more fun and instead of chess they played other games too, laughing amongst each other, while Mikoto enjoyed watching them play.
