Brother Sorrow was sitting in a chair looking at a computer monitor. "You installed the malware into K's Digivice?" BoltBoutamon asked from behind him.

"Yes. We should be able to observe the results of your little science project from here."

"Oh goodie! Let's see how my artificial X-Antibody fairs against the real thing!"

"Yeah, sure…" Brother Sorrow put a finger on his chin. "I for one am looking forward to something else…"

Takumi, Ami, Yuuko, Lobomon, Grumblemon and Mercurymon carefully descended down the dark staircase. "It sure is dark down here." Takumi said.

"Watch your step everyone." Takumi said.

"Allow me." Lobomon took out one of his Licht Schwert and it glowed illuminating the halls around them.

"Ah, always can count on you to illuminate the path Legendary Warrior of Light." Samudramon said.

Mercurymon looked at the stone walls. Carvings and symbols were on them. "Fascinating. Pity we do not have the time for a proper excavation of this temple. Think of the things we could learn."

"Well right now we're only here for one thing." Rosemon Burst Mode said. "Azulongmon's Digicore."

"Right." Ami nodded. "The sooner we find it and get out of here the better. Watch out for traps."

The party slowly advanced deeper into the underground ruins. Their eyes were all trailed in front of them, they didn't pay much attention to the floor until Grumblemon stepped on something that clicked. "Uh, oh."

The ground shook before a part of the floor slid open right under Takumi and Ami. The twins screamed as they fell into the hole. "Takumi! Ami!" As Yuuko ran to the hole the Cyber Sleuths' Digimon flew into the trap door after their partners but it closed up before anyone else could follow. "Are you two alright?!"

"Ow..." Ami groaned as she and Takumi winced at the impact to the rear. "That smarts..."

"Yeah, we're fine..." Takumi replied as they got up. They looked up at the now sealed trap door. "Not getting back out that way though..."

Back above them Samudramon drew his swords. "Step back. I can carve open the floor and free them."

"Whoa, easy big guy!" Grumblemon said. "This temple is old and unstable as it is, let's not bring it down onto our heads, yeah?"

"Grumblemon is right." Yuuko replied. "We should avoid risking a cave in."

Takumi looked ahead. "I think I see a way forward. You guys keep moving, we'll see where this leads. Hopefully we can catch up."

"Be careful down there." Yuuko said. "We'll see you later."

"Right." Takumi nodded as he and Ami and their Digimon ran ahead. Yuuko and her group carried on.

Gallantmon, Arata, Himari, Kouta, TiggerVespamon, Sakuyamon, Pheonixmon and the remaining Legendary Warriors all stood guard of the hidden entrance on top of the mountain. Kazemon gasped as her head perked up. "What's wrong Kazemon?" Sakuyamon asked.

"Something in the wind... changed. I feel the storms around the mountain dying down."

"That is not good." Yukimura said. "Our enemies just gained the freedom to strike from wherever they please."

The other Gallantmon held up his lance as he spotted something in the sky. "Here they come!"

A swarm of Hisyaryumon landed all around them. "That's a lot of Digimon..." Himari said.

"We can't let them follow Lobomon and the others, take them down!" Agunimon ordered.

"Right!" Kumamon replied before he opened fire. "Blizzard Blaster!" His snowballs slowed down the advance of a Digimon.

"Shadow Meteor!" Loweemon defeated it as it staggered.

Kouta heard footsteps and more Digimon stampeded up the mountain from the mountainsides they hiked. "Bad news, more coming!"

"Then we deal with them just as we will the rest!" TiggerVespamon said as she slashed a Devimon in half.

Another Hisyarumon dropped in carrying a Woodmon who stomped at Kazemon swinging its arms wildly. The Warrior of wind dodged the attacks gracefully. Ranamon then summoned a raincloud. "Draining Rain!" She sent it at the Woodmon and it sapped his energy. "Aw, what's wrong? I thought water was good for the plants!"

Kazemon got on her hands and stretched her legs. "Tempest Twist!" She spun like a top and aproached Woodmon kicking it repeatedly until it was knocked into a MetalTyranomon.

Sakuyamon jumped at them. "Amethyst Mandala!" She slammed her staff into the ground and a magic circle formed around her. A magic burst eliminated the enemies around her.

"Oh yeah!" Kazemon cheered as she and Ranamon double high fived.

"Girl power!" Ranamon grinned. Neither of the two noticed the Vegimon until they were jumped at from behind. Both plant Digimon wrapped their long limbs around the two latching onto their backs while tying them up. "Hey!"

"Let go!" Kazemon grunted as they tried to free their arms. The Vegimon held their grip and opened their mouths ready to bite down with their fangs.

"Roundhouse Punt!" Arboromon's fists punched both Vegimon off the girls.

Agunimon leapt up above them. "Pyro Punch!" He threw two fireballs at them and they burned down. He turned to the girls as he landed. "You two okay?"

"Yeah, thanks." Kazemon replied.

Arboromon's forearms retracted. "Don't celebrate until the battle is won! Stay focused!"

"Alright, alright!" Ranamon pouted. "Seriously, I think your name should be Grumblemon."

"Meteor Fall!" Diaboromon destroyed two Piddomon with one blast. He then turned around as another Hisyaryumon flew at him. "Catastrophe Cannon!" He blew it away.

Yukimura ran up to two Waspmon. "Spiral Driver!" He spun with his lance as he leapt up and cut them down. A Phantomon flew at him from behind.

"Yukimura, drop!" Himari shouted.

As the knight got down, Rikka flapped her wings. "Wind Cutter!" She sent a gale that slashed the Phantomon in half.

Kouta smiled to Himari. "Thanks."

"No problem! Let's push forward and win this!"

"Saint Knuckle!" Gallantmon punched down a Pukumon before he noticed something and looked up. "Crusadermon."

Everyone looked above them. The Royal Knight was standing abord an Airdramon. Other Airdamon surrounded her. A masked human was on another. "And K!" Kouta glared.

"Tch. Of course." Loweemon scowled. "They used Airdramon to manipulate the wind and dispel the storm around this mountain."

Crusadermon laughed. "You have done well finding the entrance to the temple for us. To think one of the Sovereign Digimon was laid to rest within this mountain. Azulongmon's Digicore shall be added to our collection."

"Don't count on that!" Himari said. "Takumi, Ami, and Yuuko already went on ahead before you jerks got here! They should reach the core any minute now!"

K clenched his fists. "Perfect. Crusadermon, I'm going on ahead."

"By all means. Do have fun with them. Hexeblaumon, don't let anyone interfere with K."

A blue Digimon with an ice sword flew out from behind Crusadermon. "As you wish." He flew towards the heroes and the Airdramon K rode on followed suit.

"Heads up!" Kouta shouted. Everyone moved expecting the Digimon to divebomb them, but instead it flew right past them and into the stairs.

"Oh crap! K's going after Ami and the others!" Arata yelled.

"I'll stop him!" TiggerVespamon said rushing towards the hole.

But Hexeblaumon flew in first and turned around the moment he was inside. "Summon Frost!" He created a giant ice statue right on top of the passageway.

"Oh, come on!" Kumamon yelled. "Ice is my shtick!"

"And did that guy really just make an ice statue of himself?" Ranamon asked. "What a narcissist."

"Guys, right now I'm just a little more concerned about the others!" Himari shouted.

"Oh really?" Crusadermon asked as she landed around them with her army. "I think your biggest concern would be us."

Agunimon turned to the ice statue. "I'll try to melt this thing! Give me some cover!" He ran up to it and his Burning Wrists glowed. "Pyro Tornado!" He spun in place macing a tornado of flame.

"Stop him!" Crusadermon ordered.

"Everyone, protect Agunimon!" Gallantmon ordered.

"With pleasure!" Himari glared at Crusadermon. "We owe this wench some payback for what she did to Flotia!"

Crusadermon readied her blade. "Today I'll finish what I started!" She pointed it forward and her army charged.

Back underground, Yuuko led Samudramon, Lobomon, Grumblemon, and Mercurymon deeper into the cave. The hallway was much wider now. "Just how deep is this temple?" Grumblemon asked.

"I just hope we find Takumi and Ami soon…" Yuuko said. They then heard a roar from behind them and turned around. "What was that?!"

"Something's coming this way!" Mercurymon said raising a shield. Lobomon, Grumblemon, and Samudramon drew their weapons.

Airdramon flew past them and turned around. Yuuko immediately recognized the rider. "K!"

"Yuuko…" The rider stared at her. "Where is Takumi? Don't tell me the coward abandoned you."

"What?! Takumi would never do that!"

"Hmph. So, the idiot must have gotten separated from you… I didn't see him on the way here and I know he went in here with you…" K glanced behind him. "So, he must be further down."

"That's right!" Grumblemon glared. "He and Ami will be taking Azulongmon's Digicore and there's nothing you Next Order losers can do about it!"

K shrugged. "What the Next Order wants is their concern. I have my own priorities."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Yuuko asked.

"I'm sorry Yuuko… but I have to do this… for both of us. Hexeblaumon!"

"Hectoage Blizzard!" Countless swords of ice rained down on Samudramon who collapsed onto the floor.

"Samudramon!" Yuuko gasped.

"Who- Lobomon turned around. Hexeblaumon was standing right behind them.

"You shall go no further!" the Digimon declared.

"Deal with the Digimon however you please." K ordered. "But if you even scratch Yuuko there'll be hell to pay." His Airdramon turned around and flew deeper into the halls.

"K!" Yuuko shouted running after them.

"Summon Frost!" A statue of Hexeblaumon appeared in front of her blocking her way. "If you wish to go any further, you must defeat me!" Hexeblaumon said holding his sword.

Yuuko rushed to her wounded Digimon and got out her Digivice. "You asked for it!" Lobomon said drawing his twin Schwert. "Lobo Kendo!" He ran up and swung his light blades. Hexeblaumon blocked two hits with his ice sword before swinging at Lobomon's weapons upward knocking him off balance and thrusting. Lobomon barely leaned back enough to go under the attack then got on his hands and pushed himself away from a vertical swipe. He aimed one of his gauntlets at the opponent. "Howling Laser!"

Hexeblaumon blocked the attack with his blade then held his hand out. "Hydro Water!" A blast of water knocked Lobomon over.

"What are we waiting for?" Grumblemon asked, raising his hammer. "Our pal needs some help!"

"Wait!" Mercurymon grabbed his shoulder. "I have an idea."

"Zwei Sieger!" Lobomon but the Schwert together and spun the combined weapon as he ran at Hexeblaumon. The ice Digimon blocked the swing then swung back. Lobomon dodged and got three slashes in before he was kicked down the hallway.

"Hey, dorkus!" Hexeblaumon turned to his right to see Grumblemon run at him with his hammer ready. "Seismic Sledge!"

"Pathetic." Hexeblaumon blocked the hit with his sword then punched Grumblemon to the ground. He stood sideways and the jaws on his left shoulder opened up. "Absolute Blast!" A freezing wave was fired towards Grumblemon. The Warrior of earth grinned and burrowed into the ground. The attack flew over him and into the waiting shield of Mercurymon. "What?"

"Dark Reflection!" Mercurymon's shield shot the attack back. Hexeblaumon crossed his arms to guard, but they ended up freezing together in ice. "Now!"

Lobomon ran at Hexeblaumon again and jumped. "Laufen Meteor!" Hexemon blocked a kick with his frozen arms. When Lobomon landed he did a crouching slash on his legs then leapt back.

"Jack in the Box!" Grumblemon burst out of the ground and whacked him with his hammer.

"Mach Rush!" Mercurymon rushed in and punched him with both shields knocking him down.

Hexeblaumon rolled across the floor. When he got up, he shattered his freezing shackles. "That's it! I've had enough of you!" As he ran at the three Legendary Warriors they readied themselves for a fight. But two trails of white fire blew past them and slashed through Hexeblaumon. "Ugh… who…"

Samudramon stood behind his allies. Yuuko had used a HP Capsule A on him to fully heal his wounds. "You thought I was down after one cowardly strike." Samudramon said. "But when I fall, Yuuko will always pick me back up."

Yuuko smiled. "That's my job, isn't it? To support you, however, I can as your partner.

Hexeblaumon dropped to his knees. "I lost… because of a mere human…?" He collapsed to the ground and disintegrated.

"Thanks for the help lass." Grumblemon said as he and Lobomon put their weapons away. "That there was one tough customer."

Yuuko smiled. "To be honest, I think you three could have taken him. I can see why your group is one of the best in Zaxon's Pride."

"Such praise is an honor from you." Lobomon bowed. "You have my thanks."

"We cannot relax yet." Mercurymon said. "We must hunt down K."

Yuuko nodded. "You're right. It sounded like he had plans for Takumi." She turned around to the ice statue blocking their way. "And we cannot let him pull whatever he has in mind off! Samudramon!" Samudramon's swords glowed with fire, and he slashed through the statue destroying it. "Let's go!" Yuuko ran ahead with the others following her.

Diaboromon thrusted his claws into a Airdamon as Lobomon stabbed another with his lance. "Lightning Blitz!" Beetlemon shot thunder at a Waspmon. "Guys, I don't know how long we can keep this up!" He looked to his left. A Karatenmon was flying at him but golden fire from Rikka incinerated it before it could touch him. Agunimon roared as he spun faster. The ice statue slowly started to melt.

"Snake Bandage!" A Mummymon tied Kazemon up in bandages and flung her into Kumamon. It aimed its rifle at them while they were on the ground.

"Buster Dive!" Yukimura charged into it. Kumamon sat up and Kazemon got to her knees while Sakuyamon untied her.

"Just stand your ground!" Arboromon said before turning back to dodge a Snimon's swipe.

"Destruction Cannon!" Diaboromon destroyed a Dragomon.

"Fist of Athena!" Crusadermon punched him to the ground from his left. She then turned to Agunimon who was busy melting the ice. "Time to extinguish your flame."

Arata ran in front of Agunimon. "Arata, what are you doing?!" Kouta shouted.

Crusadermon held her hand out towards him and her hand glowed green. "How eager you are to throw your life away."

"I still remember what you did in Under Zero." Arata glared. "You're not doing that to anymore of my comrades."

"Hmph. How quick you are to blame others for your failures. You were there. And you failed to protect them."

"You're right. I did fail. But this time is different. I'm not the weak fool from back then. I know no matter what I can't change my past… but I can learn and improve from it! This time I will protect everyone the right way!"

Crusadermon laughed. "You can die trying. Gaia Element!"

Diaboromon pushed himself up as Crusadermon fired a green orb that exploded. "NO!"

Arata had his eyes shut. But when he opened them, he saw a kneeling knight holding his shield in front of him. "What?! You…!"

Crusadermon looked at the knight in surprise. "Gallantmon? Why are you…?"

Gallantmon glared at Crusadermon. "I too am a failure. This world's Digimon praises me as a Royal Knight, yet every time they do so I feel like a fraud. I was also once too weak to protect my comrades from the Eaters. Lost in my own hatred for them, I lashed out on people who needed help!" Gallantmon turned his head to Arata. "I failed my comrades… failed in my duty as a Royal Knight… But I too can change just as this boy has! Like him I will atone for the failures of my past by protecting him and the allies we share now in the present! And give this world a future!"

Arata faintly smiled. "Gallantmon…" Kouta and Yukimura who watched from a distance grinned.

Gallantmon stood up and pointed his lance at Crusadermon. "Crusadermon! You are an accomplice to King Drasil's usurper, a traitor to our world, and a threat to the innocent! In the name of the Royal Knights, I sentence you to death!"

Crusadermon laughed. "How bold of you, old friend. So, you would strike me down in hatred? The same hatred you "lost" yourself in when you pointed your weapon at this fool you now protect?"

"I have no intentions to forgive you or Leopardmon for throwing the Digital World into chaos. But this is bigger than me and my feelings. So, this Crusadermon will not be an act of vengeance for the fallen. I will strike you down to defend my allies and beliefs! That is my-No! That is the justice of Jude's Flare!"

Arata stood next to him. "That's right. We'll bring The Next Order down and save this world! Right Diaboromon?!"

Arata's Digimon sprung back to his feet. "That's right! So come on pinky! Let's finish this!"

Crusadermon cackled looking at him then Gallantmon and Arata. "As you wish."

"Mach Rush!" Diaboromon charged at her. She blocked him with her shield.

"Burst Flame!" Gallantmon's lance shot a fireball. Crusadermon batted it aside with her sword.

She then pushed Diaboromon back. "Spiral Masqurade!"

"Guard Charge Field!" Gallantmon boosted Diaboromon's defenses allowing him to tank Crusadermon's flurry of slashes.

"Diaboromon, go for the legs!" Arata said. Diaboromon swept Crusadermon's legs with his arm tripping her. Gallantmon pounced at her with his lance ready, but she rolled away, and it stabbed into the ground allowing her to get back up.

"Fist of Athena!" She charged at Gallantmon and punched with her shield. The knight blocked it with his own but slid back on his feet from the impact.

"Catastrophe Cannon!" Diaboromon attacked her from the side while her guard was down.

"Gallant Charge!" Gallantmon slammed into her while she staggered.

Crusadermon flipped backwards and landed on her feet. Looking up she saw Diaboromon and Gallantmon rushing at her. "Speed Break Field!" She held out her hand and both of them slowed down. "Hell Crusher!" Dark energy slashed through them both and she charged. She punched Diaboromon then slashed Gallantmon repeatedly.

"Hold on!" Arata opened a menu. As the two Digimon endured more hits he made some configurations and started a program.

Just when Crusadermon threw another punch Gallantmon returned to normal speed and blocked it. "Shield of the Just!" The marks on his shield glowed and it blew Crusadermon away. Gallantmon looked at Arata as he ran up to him. "Human programs are useful."

"I got an idea."

Crusadermon groaned as she pushed herself up. "You will regret doing that!" Arata gave Gallantmon a SPD Boost and Diaboromon a ATK Boost. Gallantmon charged at Crusadermon again. When she slashed at him the moment he got close he vanished, She then noticed Diaboromon ready to fire in front of her. "I'm not going to fall for that!" She jumped just as he fired a Catastrophe Cannon.

"Saint Knuckle!" Gallantmon who appeared above her punched her down right into Diaboromon's fired attack. The knight screamed as she was hit with an explosion.

Nice." Arata grinned. "We got this wretch on the ropes! Let's press ahead and finish this!"

Crusadermon growled. "Don't get ahead of yourself human! I-

"Plasma Shot!" Golden orbs blasted the knight. Magnamon flew in along with Skyla, Gaia, TyrantKabuterimon and MetalSeadramon. Shiki, Keisuke, PileVolcamon, Machinedramon, and Zero climbed off them as they aproached the ground.

"About time our cavalry showed up." Arata said.

"Sorry for the wait." Shiki replied.

Agunimon dropped as the ice statue finally melted. "Are you okay?" Kazemon asked helping him up.

"Yeah. Just a tad burned out. But the way forward is clear. We can go after K and our friends."

"Not so fast!" Everyone was alerted to the sky as another Royal Knight swooped in.

"Dynasmon!" Magnamon yelled.

"Crusadermon, what's our situation?"

Crusadermon stood back up. "Some of the humans went into the temple to get the core. K is in pursuit."

"Then we shall make sure these ones cannot interfere!"

"Aren't we suddenly confident." Arata scoffed. "We already kicked your ass in the jungle."

"Not this time." Dynasmon snapped his fingers. A giant orange Digimon came crashing down.

"What the heck is that?!" Himari gasped.

"A-Arcadiamon!" Keisuke gapped.

"Arcadiamon?!" Kouta asked. "You mean that Digimon Hosaka hatched back in the city? That Arcadiamon?! When did he get so huge?!"

"He must have digivolved." PileVolcamon scowled.

"So it's true." Magnamon said. "You revived that demon to weaponize against this world."

"No. Only against you." Dynasmon replied.

"You fools!" Gallantmon yelled. "Arcadiamon wreaked havoc upon millions in the Digital World! You would revive him even after all he has done?!"

"Hmph. Look who's talking." Crusadermon scoffed. "The humans brought repugnant horrors upon our world and you willingly side with them!"

"At least the humans unlike you learned from and corrected their mistakes!" Magnamon retorted. "It was the miraculous power they hold that brought an end to this world's suffering!"

"Then we will need to cut you off from that "miraculous power"." Dynasmon said. "Fortunately, we developed the perfect weapon to do just that."

Another giant Digimon dripped down. One with a black and purple body and tentacles coming out of him. "That's the Digimon we saw in EDEN!" Arata gasped. "Argomon!"

"So this is what Yuuko was talking about." Zero said. "I've never seen anything like it."

Crusadermon laughed and walked next to Argomon. "Humans and their emotions give off a certain power that affects Digimon. Argomon was created as a means to counter that power. Cutting it off from its source." She pointed at the humans in the group. "Argomon! Give them a demonstration!"

The Digimon leered at its prey. "Humans identified. Preparing for combat." Arcadiamon roared as he stepped forward with him along with Crusadermon and Dynasmon.

"Tch. Shiki! Get in the temple and go after K!" Arata said. "He just flew in after Ami and the others!"

"TiggerVespamon, Pheonixmon, Sakuyamon, go with them!" Zero ordered. "The rest of us will hold the line out here!"

"Understood." TiggerVespamon nodded before going down the stairs with her team.

"Be careful everyone!" Shiki said before she and her Digimon followed.

"Let's go!" Keisuke shouted as he and the Resistance stood against the Digimon before them.

Takumi and Ami continued through a dark tunnel. "Watch your step." Ophanimon said. "We don't want to set off any more traps."

Takumi who was at the front of the group walked into stone and yelped. "Ow!"

The others stopped behind him. "What happened?" Dorugoramon asked.

Takumi rubbed his noise with one hand and felt out in front of him with the other. "I think I hit a wall."

"Oh, swell." Rosemon Burst Mode sighed. "Now what? Do we turn back?"

"Turn back?" BlackWarGreymon asked. "There's nothing to find back the way we came!"

"Wait a minute." Takumi put his ear against the side of the wall and started knocking it. "Dorugoramon, break this wall down."

"Stand back." Dorugoramon said as he approached. He cracked his knuckles and reeled back a fist. "Wolkanapalm!" He punched through the wall, and it crumbled apart. Light flowed in from the other end.

"Looks like we found our exit." Takumi said. They all stepped into the light and found themselves in a room filled with torches. The twins looked behind them and saw an image of a long dragon carved into the wall. In the middle of the room was a casket. "So… 500 Yen says Azulongmon's Digicore is in there." Takumi said as they approached it together.

"Yeah? Well, I'd bet 1000 Yen then it's bobby trapped like the last one was." Ami said as they stood in front of it. They both put their googles on.

"Well?" Kuzuhamon asked.

Takumi sighed. "I'm not as good at this as Yuuko, Arata, or Keisuke, but this thing looks pretty rigged to me. Maybe we should wait for Yuuko to get here?"

"Don't worry about it, this is why we've been having Kyoko and Arata teach us, remember?" Ami asked as she started making inputs.

Rapidmon Armor watched the twins work but then sensed something and gasped looking up towards the hallway entrance at the far side of the room. "We've got company!"

"Ah, good timing!" Takumi smiled. "Yuuko can help us open this thing and-

"It's not Yuuko!"

"Huh?" Takumi and Ami looked up as Aidramon flew into the room. K jumped off the dragon as it lunged towards them. "Whoa!"

BlackWarGreymon rushed in and rammed his Dramon Destroyer into it, and it disintegrated. He then glared at the human that arrived. "You again."

"K." Takumi said as he and Ami got around the casket to face him.

"I had a feeling I'd find you here." the masked man said.

"Here to take the Sovereign Digimon's Digicore, huh?" Ami scowled.

"I could care less." K said as he approached as he pointed at Takumi. "What I am here for is to settle my business with you."

"Okay, I've had enough of this." Takumi growled. "Just spit it out already! Who the hell are you and what did I do that makes you want to hurt me so bad you don't care who or what gets caught in the crossfire!?"

K stood still. "Okay." He reached for his mask. "The truth then." He slowly took it off revealing a mirror image of Takumi's face.

"Still hiding behind that fake avatar?" Dorugoramon scoffed. "In case it hasn't hit you yet, that trick won't work. Your plan to have Takumi and Takuto destroy each other has failed."

K chuckled with Takumi's voice. "Trick? This is no trick. Such devilry is better suited for you and this crappy copy you created."

"What are you talking about?" Takumi asked.

K glared at him. "Didn't I tell you? I'm going to destroy you and take back what is rightfully mine. My body. My identity. My life!" K pointed a thumb at himself. "For I am the real Takumi Aiba! Not you!"

"Real Takumi?" Rapidmon Armor asked. "What are you babbling about?"

"You should know. If you recall after our final battle, my half-cyber body along with Ami's was destroyed on the way home. Dispersing our mental data."

"Yes, then us Digimon reinstalled them into their bodies." Rosemon Burst Mode replied.

"By recreating their mental data. So, tell me…" K glared. "What do you think happened to the original data of Takumi Aiba?"

Takumi froze. "What…?"

"After you traitors created this fake version of me and my sister and installed them into our bodies, we were left to rot between worlds… can you imagine what it was like?! The loneliness! The isolation! We trusted you! And you just abandoned us and replaced us!"

"Yeah, right pal!" Dorugoramon scoffed. "Back at that lab you said you made that face with fake avatar parts!"

"Correction: I said it took me a while to gather the fake avatar parts I needed. But I never said I collected them to replicate my own face. I just needed to recreate Takuto's for my plan."

Takumi's face palled. "You're… you're wrong! I am Takumi!"

"Really?" K folded his arms. "And what proof do you have?"

"I just know! I fought with my friends against the Eaters! I stopped Suedou with them in the Digital World! I solved cases for humans and Digimon! My memories are proof of that!"

"Your memories? Ha! Those memories were provided by Rapidmon and the others because they were with me the whole time! You are nothing more than an imposter!"

Takumi shakily stepped back. "I… I…"

"While you were living my life, the Next Order found my original data and reassembled it. They even managed to construct a new cyber body for me." K said before clenching his fist. "But they couldn't save my sister Ami. She is still lost out there… alone." He then glared at Takumi. "That is why I will destroy you possers for replacing us! And once this is all over, I'll find the real Ami and we can both take our bodies back! We will return to the real world together and take our lives back!"

Takumi started shaking. "I'm... a copy...? All this time I wasn't real...?"

"Like hell!" Ami yelled bringing all attention to her. "Alphamon and the others may have had to recreate our mental data, but that doesn't mean you're a copy! You're my one and only brother Takumi! There's not a doubt in my mind!"

"Hallow words from someone who's just as fake as he is!" K retorted.

"What do you know?! Before Alphamon and the others reconstructed our mental data she spoke to us. Told us she had fun investigating with us even though we were exhausting to her. Told us to be the masters of our own future! We could hear her! We existed! Even without our mental data!" Ami turned to Takumi. "Think about it Takumi. Would Alphamon and the others do what they did if it meant leaving us to the void and replacing us in the real world?"

Takumi thought quietly as K stormed towards them. "What a desperate argument! You are nothing more than clusters of fake data! You cannot speak of what you clearly don't know!"

"It is you who doesn't know anything K!" After everyone heard a familiar girl's voice Samudramon rushed towards the coated man who jumped away. At the entrance to the room was Yuuko standing with Lobomon Grumblemon and Mercurymon.

"Y-Yuuko!" K stuttered.

"Yuuko? How much did you hear?" Takumi asked.

"What I needed to." Yuuko replied as she approached. She walked over to Takumi. "Ami is right Takumi. Do you really think someone's existence can simply be copied? That you could be replaced?"

"I..."

Yuuko stood in front of Takumi. "Takumi, you're the same you I met eight years ago. And you're the one who pulled me from despair when I lost all hope."

"Yuuko, that wasn't him!" K protested. "I remember when you were assimilated by that Eater in Roppongi I was horrified... desperate to save you... so I used my Connect Jump to save you. I didn't care about the consequences so long as you were safe."

Takumi stared at him. "He knows about... then he really is-

Takumi was hushed when Yuuko placed a finger on his lip and he saw her stern expression. She then looked at K. "If you really are Takumi, then answer this: What was your father before he worked with mine?"

"Ah...!" K froze in awkward silence with his mouth agape.

"I thought so." Yuuko turned to Takumi. "Takumi, consider this: back in Roppongi, you told us that your father was a researcher in the field of cognitive science, yes?"

"Yes..."

"And back in Zaxion's Pride's base you told me about the promise you made to him. What was that promise?"

"To take care of my family. But what does that have to-

Yuuko smiled. "Those memories are from before you met us and Digimon. So how would they know about it when recreating your mental data?"

Takumi stood there quietly. "She's right." Rapidmon Armor said. "You never told us about your father. Not until you shared it with us after our reunion anyway."

"Those memories are proof that you're you. Mental data may be digitized consciousness, but it's not like it completely separates your mind from your body, it's impossible to completely sever the link. From what I can tell, the data that was dispersed from your and Ami's consciousness was your memories from after your accident. If Alphamon and the others didn't reconstruct that data, you two would have woken up with no recollection of what happened after you two got EDEN Syndrome. But that doesn't change that you are the true Takumi and Ami. The real Cyber Sleuths."

Takumi closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "...Yuuko...thank you. You're right. The memories I hold are what make me who I am. I can't believe I almost questioned my identity."

Yuuko giggled. "Weren't you there for me when I was at my lowest? I'm just repaying the favor."

"No!" K yelled. "This isn't how it was supposed to go! You belong by my side Yuuko! Not with him!"

As Ami put a hand at her chin Grumblemon sighed. "What is the deal with this guy?"

"You mean this girl." Ami replied.

Everyone looked at her. "Girl?" Lobomon asked.

Ami's eyes saddened. "I think I've seen all I need to confirm my theory now… I really hoped I was wrong this time, but now there's no doubt in my mind…"

"So, you know who K really is?!" Ophanimon asked.

"Is that true Ami?!" Takumi gasped.

Ami glanced at him. "Think about it bro. She cares for Yuuko, knows Zaxon's tactics, and knows what happened in Roppongi that day."

Takumi put the clues together then his eyes widened as he gasped. "…Of course... Now it all makes sense."

"Takumi? Ami?" Yuuko looked at them. "What's going on?"

"Yuuko…" Takumi gave the girl a sympathetic look. "I think we're ready to close the case you gave us."

"What do you mean?"

Ami turned to K. "You're Fei, aren't you?"

Yuuko felt a shock run through her. Takumi and Ami's Digimon gasped. K opened a blue monitor and pressed something. Blue noise covered the face that replicated Takumi's. As it faded away it showed the face of a young woman with blue eyes, and brown hair tied in two buns. "Hmph. So ya finally found me out, huh Cyber Sleuths?"

Brother Sorrow laughed as the screen showed K exposing her true identity and everyone's reaction to it. "So, the cat's finally out of the bag."

"Wow, that Yuuko girl looks like she saw a ghost." Boltboutamon snickered. "Who's that anyway, her girlfriend?"

"Ha! Fei wishes." Brother Sorrow scoffed. "This is what I've been waiting for…to make those two suffer the way I have!"

Yup. That's Fei. You're probably wondering how she got in this situation. Well, the thing is I was debating on whether to pair up Takumi with Nokia or Yuuko for my previous series, Cyber Ranger since I see reason for either. After getting the opinions of other writers and thinking about the matter deeply I ultimately decided to pair Takumi with Nokia for Cyber Ranger and then pair him with Yuuko for this story. Then it occurred to me that such a scenario was a good opportunity to have Fei go through what Yu did in Hackers Memory and make her a prime tamer for the Deadly Digimon of Lust and Envy, and so, here we are. But what is Fei doing in the Digital World? How does she remember the previous reality? Stay turned.
