Ch. 7: Apologies

written 9/29/24

The following morning was a slower than usual one for Chuck when he woke up. He began to contemplate all the wrongs he needed to right. His depression was getting

deeper, and he knew that apologies to his sister and his two best friends needed to be made. He also knew that despite the fact that his sister was in a relationship with one

of them he would have to suck it up since she was capable of making her own choices as an adult. He also knew that he should acknowledge that as long as Red made Silver

happy he should be happy for them. "I've got to apologize to Red and my sister." he said to himself. "As for Bomb I'm not sure how to acquire his forgiveness." He made

himself a decent breakfast and then began his slow walk over to Red's house. Once he arrived, and gave three knocks there was no answer. He began his apology. "Look Red,

I know I was a complete asshole to you but-" he stopped suddenly. "Wait a minute he thought. "Red would've answered the door by now. Then it hit him, "I bet he's over at

Silver's place right now.

Meanwhile, over at Silver's house, Red woke up to find himself wrapped up in Silver's arms. At first he began to wonder about why he was at Silver's in the same bed, and

then he remembered the conversation he had with her last night. She requested him to stay and sleep over because she didn't want to be alone. He began to slide out of

Silver's embrace, but he suddenly felt her pull him back in. "And just where do you think you're going?" asked Silver in a sweet and silly voice. "Well, I was gonna wait for you

to wake up and see if you wanted to have some breakfast." Red replied. "However you've made the first part moot, so I guess I'm just wondering if you want to have some

breakfast?" "Sure, and I would like to once again thank you for staying with me last night." said Silver. "I was just in need of some emotional support after the display my

brother put on in the restaurant yesterday." "I understand." said Red. "I felt the same way in regards to emotional support I just didn't want to admit it." Silver smiled and

gave him a peck on the cheek. "Okay you, let's move on." "Agreed." said Red giving Silver a peck on her cheek. "Well, while we're on the subject can I tempt with a breakfast

consisting of cereal, orange juice and/or grapefruit juice?" Red inquired. "Absolutely, that sounds delicious." Silver replied with smile "Alright then, I'll get right on it." said

Red. "Thank you Red." said Silver giving him a kiss on the cheek. "You're so kind and considerate." Red blushed at the compliment. "No worries babe." he said. "I meant to

ask you, what kind of cereal would you like?" Silver thought for a second. "Well, if I have any in the kitchen, I would love some sugar frosted birdseed." she answered. "Well, I

guess that makes two of us." Silver went ahead and set the table while Red got the breakfast material ready in a buffet style. "Well, here we are." he said showing Silver his

display. "This is my continental breakfast buffet." "It looks wonderful." she said looking over his innovated display. "Thank you." he replied and then he began showing

everything available. "In addition to the cereal and juice, I felt that just for fun, I should put out some lightly toasted bread, butter, and blueberry jelly." "Oh thank you Red,

it's such a beautiful spread." said Silver giving him a kiss and a compliment. "Well, don't be shy." said Red blushing once again. "Help yourself." "Why thank you so much."

said Silver. "You're welcome." replied Red. Both birds ended up getting the same plate of food choices one of each item. The only difference was Red got the grapefruit juice

and Silver got the orange juice. "Well this is truly delicious." said Silver. "I'm glad you're enjoying it." replied Red. They were just about to continue their breakfast when

suddenly they heard a very fast knocking on the door. Red and Silver had a feeling about who it was. "I bet that's my brother." said Silver as she got up from the table. "Just

stay here, I'll be right back."

After his speedy knocking, Chuck waited a couple of minutes. "Sis, are you there?" he inquired. "Yes, hold on, I'm coming." Silver replied as she walked to the door. She

opened the door and she saw her brother standing there with a neutral look on his face. "What do you want?" she said with a somewhat irritated tone. "May I come in?" he

asked in a solemn tone. "That depends on what your reaction will be if I told you that Red spent last night here with me for emotional support after the scene you made at the

restaurant yesterday, and that we have just started having breakfast together." Silver replied sternly. Chuck took a deep breath. "I didn't want to know that, but I guess that

will make my endeavor simpler." he said. "I will make my best effort to keep myself together." Silver was still feeling questionable about the potential confrontation between

Red and her brother. "Very well, you can come in as long as you promise you won't go after Red in any way." she said. "Alright, I promise I'll keep my cool." he replied in

agreement. Silver opened the door, went in ahead of her brother for fear of him breaking his promise, and sat next to Red in case of confrontation. Silver gestured for her

brother to take a seat across from Red and herself. "Have a seat." she said. "Thank you." he replied while giving Red a questionable glance. "Now to what do Red and I owe to

your presence." she said in a still somewhat aggressive tone. Before Chuck could reply Red leaned over to Silver. "Look, let's hear him out, and then decide how to react." he

whispered. "He is your brother after all, and is probably just concerned about your well being." "I guess your right, thanks love." said Silver giving him a hug. Then, Red

spoke up. "So Chuck what's up?" he asked cautiously. Chuck then looked first at Red, then his sister, and back at Red. "Look Red, the main reason I came over here was to

apologize to you and Silver for my behavior at the restaurant yesterday." he said. "It was completely unacceptable, and I'm very sorry." "I understand because the two of us

are best friends, and you're really protective of your sister because you want her to be happy." Red replied and then continued with a slightly more serious tone. "However, I

can accept your apology as long as your sister can." At that moment Chuck turned to his sister. "Well Silver, can you forgive me?" he inquired with pleading look on his face.

"Yes, as long as you can consent to certain conditions." Silver began. "What are the conditions?" Chuck asked arching an eyebrow. "You must be okay with Red and I being in

romantic relationship as well as the perks that go with it including, but not limited to kissing and hugging privately and publicly as well spending nights together." she said

with yet another firm tone of voice. "As long as he makes you happy, and doesn't take advantage of you I guess I can be okay with that." said Chuck taking yet another deep,

calming breath. "Alright, as long as those conditions hold I can also forgive you as well." Silver answered in agreement. "Thank you sis, and I should see that you are old

enough to make your own decisions." said Chuck and then he glanced over at his best friend. "Thank you as well Red, and you're right I'm very protective of my sister." "No

problem, and of course I will always treat her right." Red replied giving his best friend a hug, and then with a sarcastic chuckle he said. "Worst case I'm sure Silver will come

up with a well balanced equation on how to put me back in my rightful place." Silver and Chuck both gave a small laugh at Red's joke. The three birds then pulled each other

in for a group hug. "Well, take care you two, I've got to go." "Where to my friend?" Red inquired. "Over to Bomb's place." Chuck answered. "I owe him an apology as well."

"Well brother, I've got a proposal for you." Silver said. "Why don't you wait five minutes for us to finish breakfast, and then Red and I can go with you for backup regarding

sincerity." "Okay, thank you guys." Chuck replied. "I would greatly appreciate that." Then, Silver looked back at her brother, and gave a barely audible sigh. "Chuck do you

want some toast and jam, while we finish up our cereal." "Actually that sounds delicious." replied Chuck with a smile. "Thank you sis." "Well, then go on in and help yourself."

said Silver. Chuck then made his way into his sister's kitchen, got out a plate, and took a piece of toast with jam on it. Then, he came over and joined his sister and his best

friend. The three birds finished their breakfast, and got up to go to Bomb's house.

Bomb was at his house pacing back and forth both sad and angry about the events that occurred yesterday when suddenly he heard a knock at the door. "Who is it?" he

questioned. "It's Silver, Red, and Chuck." Red answered. Bomb opened the door and looked at the three birds. "What's going on?" he asked. Silver and Red guided Chuck to

the front. "Look Bomb, I've come over to apologize to you and make amends." Chuck stated. "If that's okay and you'll hear me out." Bomb was hesitant at first, but then he

calmed down when he knew this was his best friend he was talking to. "Very well." he replied and permitted the three of them to enter. "Come in." The three birds made their

way into Bomb's house, and Bomb shut the door. He gestured for the three birds to have a seat on the couch as he took a seat on his recliner, and looked at his friends.

"Alright Chuck, please begin." said Bomb. "Well I want you to know that I am extremely sorry for my behavior at the restaurant yesterday." Chuck began. "I was not only

overeacting to my sister and her relationship with Red, but I put you in a very uncomfortable and awkward position." "Yes, you did." said Bomb. "I didn't notice this until you

left suddenly and it was too late." said Chuck. "However, I recognize now that that was not okay, and I really hope you can forgive me." Bomb thought for a bit and then said.

"I will fogive you on one condition Chuck." "What's that?" Chuck asked. "That you promise to never ever have a repeat of that seneraio again, and when you feel yourself

about to explode like that, first take a deep breath and address who or what is bothering you privately from the public." Chuck looked first at Red and Silver, and then back at

Bomb. He jumped up, walked over to Bomb, and extended his wing. "Deal." he answered. Bomb jumped out of his recliner and shook wings with him. "Thank you and I

forgive you." said Bomb. Then Red did something very unlike himself and shouted. "Okay, group hug!" Silver rushed over with him and the four birds reignited their

friendship.

To all of my followers my apologies as well I've had issues in life being dealt with and a lot of writer's block. Based on the fact that the day has only just

begun in this chapter my prediction is that my next chapter will be a kind of part 2 and tell what the rest of the day will hold for them. Also I was meaning

to say that I'm working on a different fanfic along with this one.
