The whole week seemed slow yet fast, as Abraham kept to his word, working valiantly and determinedly, with Audrey helping him, while Thaddeus watched over the twins, and finally, on a Saturday, the same day where Steve found the village, and is currently taking up a guest bed in his host's shack, the machine is finally ready, with the second and final batch of super soldier serum happily intact and just as fresh in the containers of the machine, as they were the first day it was created.
Peggy took up a wide bra-tank top, with an old pair of Bucky's trousers that he had forgotten to pack up last time, her crystal around her, and the compass above the crystal in a necklace as well. Abraham looked at her, "You look ready, Peggy. The children?", and Peggy replied, "Down in the dining room with my parents. Can't afford to expose them to the pain I'd be experiencing.", as she, Abraham, Thaddeus, and Audrey stood in the lab.
"Good. I know you said that you can do this quite a few times this week, and this will be the last time I'll ask. Are you certainly sure you want to do this?", Abraham asked firmly, looking at her.
"Look, the war may be coming to an end and Steve... I'm glad he's still alive; you have no idea how better I've been sleeping since hearing that news; but we don't know how long it will take for Steve to get back to us... and searching for him would be quite a challenge too. It's time that we might still be unable to afford to waste so I should at least fill in the role even if it's for a few months; just to make sure to see this thing to end.", Peggy explained.
Abraham looked at her, seeing the determination in her eyes, and exhaled with a nod, "Alright then, go ahead and climb in, get secured in. I'll check on you in a minute when you're ready, okay?".
Peggy nodded, "Yes, doc.", realizing that Abraham is now in his serious scientist mode, and took a deep breath, looking at the machine that created Captain America, and now it's her turn...If Phillips saw her and such, it's a possibility that she will be called Lieutenant Britain.
She held up the compass, kissing the initials on the back of the compass, and then twisted her combined wedding ring, whispering, "I love you, Steve.", kissing the metal, and then nodded to herself as she then stepped in, climbing in and turning around to rest her body back into the machine, facing the outside, making sure that her clothes didn't snag on anything.
Abraham came back, "Comfortable?", and Peggy replied, "As much as I could be...", and Abraham nodded, "Good. We'll inject the serum into your arms and top chest steadily, and if you're taking it well with no allergy reaction, we will start the infusion from the vita-rays, and the Atlantean energy altogether, understand?".
Peggy took a deep breath as she nodded. "How bad do you think it'll be?", Peggy asked him as Abraham sighed, "I don't know. Obviously, you're a bit stronger and healthier than Steve was when he did it... but if I had to guess; it'll still be excruciating.".
"Even worse than giving birth?", Peggy raised an eyebrow as he nodded, "From Steve's sounds... yes; I think so.". Peggy replied, "At least I had practice at giving birth.", with a small smirk, and Abraham chuckled, "Indeed. Ready?".
Peggy rested her head back from its turned position, "Ready, doc...", her eyes glinting of determination and perseverance, and Abraham nodded, and looked back, "Audrey?".
Audrey worked the controls for the serum injections to move as the panels of the injections planted into Peggy's arms and upper chest, on the sides, between the crystal and the compass, and Peggy sharply inhaled at the needles, and then gritted her teeth as she fisted, feeling the serum pushing and going into her bloodstreams and vessels, her eyes wide at the power of the serum moving through her.
Seeing no allergy reaction, Abraham then nodded at Thaddeus, "Now.", and Thaddeus worked the controls for the panels and empty serum vials to leave Peggy as the machine came upwards, lifting Peggy up as the machine panels of the vita-rays and the Atlantean runes that is now etched into the machine closed around her.
Abraham knocked on the glass, "You hear me, Peggy?", and Peggy's voice replied, "Good thing that I used the bathroom before this, huh?", coping with a joke. Abraham then nodded, "Go.", looking at Audrey and Thaddeus who went to the panels to turn on the electricity, the Atlantean energy runes, and the vita-rays, with Audrey adjusting the energy to react within Peggy's crystal, while Thaddeus stayed on the wheel of the vita-rays, "10%, 15%, 20%.", as he steadily announced, increasing the output.
"Not hearing the screaming yet...", Thaddeus said as Abraham took a deep breath. "Give it a bit; it'll be coming.", he said.
"Will she actually be able to get through this?", Audrey asked; worry filling her even after all this time of knowing. "If Steve survived this; I'm sure she can too. It's the reason why I was sure she was the only other one who could do this.", Abraham said firmly, looking at them.
Thaddeus and Audrey nodded, as Thaddeus kept increasing the output, "30%, 35%, 40%.", as the cries and groans of pain started to be heard, as Abraham called out to Audrey, "How's the electricity holding up?".
"Still going, doc! And the runes are steady!", Audrey called out as Thaddeus steadily kept going, "45%, 50%, 55%, 60%!", as the cries of pain became screams of pain, the glowing getting brighter and brighter through the machine, and through the lab.
Elsewhere, in Greenland, at about the same time when it started, Steve felt like something was going on, something hurting Peggy as he grunted in his sleep, pleading with his crystal, clutching into his heart, and before he knew it, his transparent spirit was in the air, and he realized that he was actually in the dreamworld, dreamwalking like Joshua Sweet did with Nola, and sensing Peggy's pain, determination, fear, and love, he wanted to be with her to find out what's hurting her so bad, shocked to realize that the Great Kings was miraculously connecting them despite the distance, and appeared in a familiar lab, and to his realization, Abraham, nor Thaddeus, or Audrey didn't see him at all, as he dived into the machine, somehow not a tight fit for him as he melted into the machine, facing Peggy as she was having her eyes closed, tears falling, pain through her features as she gritted her teeth in pain.
His hand fell through Peggy's cheek, and he gritted his teeth, focusing and to his relief, his hand became solid on her cheek, "Peggy, Peggy, you got this...".
Her eyes opened in shock to hear such a voice, a voice she never thought she'd hear again, her voice getting louder and louder in pain, as they faintly heard Thaddeus's voice, announcing the increase of output.
Peggy's eyes looked everywhere as she heard Steve's voice, "I know it hurts, Peggy...Please fight...", as Peggy hoarsely sobbed, "I GOT THIS! OH, STEVE!", as pain ran through her, not knowing that the others didn't hear her talking with Steve, yet her screams and sobs of pain was heard in place of the talk.
Steve replied, "You're a fighter, Peggy...My beautiful wife...I love you now as much as I loved you from that day on the beach for our second date...", and Peggy sobbed, "I wish I could see you as much as I'm hearing your voice!".
The Great Kings heard her wish, and the runes became brighter, with her crystal aiding her, and Peggy widened her eyes as she now saw Steve, glowing and transparent, tears falling, "Steve, I see you...I love you too...".
Steve smiled so brilliantly, and focused his will as he leaned in to kiss her on the lips, and she welcomed it as even muffled moans and cries of pain came through her vocals, and after that wonderful moment, she screamed in pain as she sobbed, "It feels even more painful than giving birth! And it's not over yet!", in frustration yet struggling determination as it seems so long with the pain.
"Don't stop fighting...Never give up, Peggy...I wish I would help you...", Steve sighed, burying his nose into her hair, breathing on her neck, and she shivered in pleasure despite crying and screaming in pain, "I...You are touching me...That feels like a distraction for a second there...".
Steve remembered the story Joshua told him with some edits here and there, yet Joshua was in pain until Nola eased it away with lovemaking and pleasure...Steve blushed, whispering, "This is not the greatest ideal place...but do you want a quickie? I want to help you fight the pain...".

Audrey, Thaddeus, and Abraham were in awe and relief as they saw her breathing heavily as she shakily took a step out, a hand on the rim of the machine. She is no longer 5' 5" tall, 101 lbs, light tan but she is now deeply tan, 6 ft tall, and 180 lbs. Her copper brown hair has gotten healthier and lusher, with her chocolate brown eyes even a bit more vivid than before, and she has two more Atlantean tattoos next to her first tattoo she got in their second wedding night, with one above her heart, and one on her wrist.
Peggy took a few deep breaths as she tried to hold herself up against the chamber; feeling fairly weak in the knees considering both the change and of course, Steve's 'assistance'. "That...", she finally spoke. "Is not the sort of rush I would recommend.", she admitted.
"Noted.", Audrey gave a small, but relieved chuckle. "How're you feeling?", she asked. "I think I need an hour or two to relax and cool down a bit before I can give that answer. I don't know how Steve was able to practically jump right into action only seconds after going through this... much worse, mind you, with how he was screaming.", Peggy replied.
Abraham nodded, "Indeed.", as Thaddeus went to turn everything off, "I believe this calls for a well-deserved meal. That would help you relax...unless you don't want to talk around the table down in the dining room?".
Peggy looked thoughtful for a moment before glancing at Audrey, "Would you get Brooke and Ash? I think I need their approval first, and I need to check if my milk is still fine...I just need an hour to relax...".
Thaddeus replied, "Good thing that we got a bench at the doors...You just want to relax on the bench there before you feel good to come down to the dining table, then?", as Peggy nodded, with Audrey responding to her request, "Of course, I'll get them...It...It was sure loud, and they must be worried if they heard even this far down into the palace.".
Peggy smiled gratefully, "Thanks, Audrey...", and Audrey then left the shutting down lab, as Abraham went to assist Peggy, with Thaddeus going to check the comfort of the bench by fluffing the pillows and such.
"I am glad you were the second and last choice I'd ever have for the serum and all...I'm sure Steve would be over the moon, if shocked and surprised at first, for your reunion.", Abraham chuckled as he and Peggy slowly walked to the open doors, to the bench, as Peggy gave a wry chuckle, getting used to her new body's gait and such, "Thanks, Abraham. I have the feeling that you'd be right.", as it was clear that the trio didn't hear Steve or see him or overheard everything of their quickie which was a relief as she felt like a little secretive with it.
Abraham raised an eyebrow by hearing that as Peggy could tell that the wheels were turning in his head. "With your reactions that we heard... your screams were less... pained, than the ones Steve had.", he said.
"Hope I didn't scare anyone like the last time... I really thought Steve wasn't going to make it at times during the last procedure.", Peggy told him.
