Just a little omake chapter, that came to mind in regards to both Dr. Crowler and N.

Take Your Dog to Work Day

With a tired sigh, Uzi plopped herself down onto her chair in class as school was about to start again. The colony almost being wiped out apparently did not stop classes from being mandatory at a certain teacher's insistence. Speaking of which, said teacher was currently standing in front of the blackboard and writing something on it that she honestly couldn't have cared less. She had much better things to do. Like making her plans for the extermination of humanity who had sent their disassembly drones at them...

"Hey Uzi." N greeted her with a smile as he waved at her from a seat her right. Ironically, one of those same disassembly drones was perhaps the most Uzi had now in terms of a social contact. She was about to say something, until her eyes landed on the person seated next to N.

"Alright then class. Today we finish the topic of Burn Damage and start with the special forms of summoning outside of Normal and Special Summoning." Crowler began as all the students had entered the classroom. "Are there still any more questions to the topic from last time?"

"Why are you giving lessons to a card game? Let alone one only you seem to have cards for?" Uzi asked. Hushed murmurs of agreement rang through the class, though they all could agree that it was at the very least less boring than their usual teacher's classes.

"I have made my suggestion to the school to teach you the basics of Duel Monsters and the school accepted it. And with all due respect Ms. Doorman, raise your hand if you have a question. I still have a doctor title in duelling. That takes 9 years in Duelling School." The ancient looking metal construct prided himself, not really answering her question as to why he was teaching them a game they couldn't play.

"We know. You don't have to mention it all the time." Uzi said quietly, before turning her head to see a certain tied up disassembly drone next to N. "And what is SHE doing here?" She pointed accusingly at V. The other students closest to Uzi, N and V slightly scooted away from them after being made aware of the latter's presence. Understandable after she had tried killing them all not that long ago.

"Hello to you too, purple thing." The female disassembly drone replied unenthusiastically, before her eyes hollowed out and her mouth stretched into a sadistic grin. "Looking to pick a fight already?"

"Bite me!" Uzi was about to stand up and give V a piece of her mind when Crowler sighed.

"That is a question you will need to ask that your friend N. But that will have to wait until the end of class. Understood? Good." And with that Crowler turned his attention back to the blackboard and began his lesson on how to deal passive damage to an opponent in the card game he somehow had a doctor title in. Barely anyone really paid attention, including Uzi who glared at N as if it would explain why in Robo-God's name he thought it would be a good idea to bring V with him to class. Said male disassembly drone looked slightly uncomfortable under the purple-haired worker drone's gaze and tried his best to direct his attention forward when he wasn't trying to dessuade V from trying to break free from the chair her legs were tied to.

Eventually, Crowler moved on to the next topic.

"Today's topic are a Fusion Summonings. As the name implies, it entails that 2 or more monsters are merged to create a new fusion monster, which are these violet cards..." He said, holding up a card depicting what looked like a six-armed version of his Ancient Gear Golem, before carrying on. At the mentioning of multiple creatures merging, Thad leaned a bit back towards Lizzie and Doll.

"Shouldn't that be something for biology class..." He whispered while wiggling his digital eyebrows, making the two girls roll their eye lights.

"We don't have biology classes." Lizzie said, though shot the jock a knowing smile, that made him smirk slightly...

*WHACK*

That was before a piece of chalk hit the male worker drone in the head and knocked him off his chair due to him leaning over to the two girls.

"OW!" He yelped while rubbing his head.

"Be quiet over there unless you have something to add to the class, Thad. Otherwise you may write an essay about ritual summoning until the end of this class." Crowler replied with his arms crossed and the red lense of his eye glaring at the popular boy. Uzi swore she saw steam rise up from his head somehow.

"Ritual what now? We didn't even had that yet!" Thad exclaimed, but Crowler paid him no mind.

"Continuing on, I will no demonstrate how fusion summoning works WITHOUT a Polymerization card. For that, I summon my Ancient Gear Hunting Hound." Crowler said as he placed a card into his duel vest. A bright flash appeared before him and the monster materialized with a mechanical growl.

As the name implied, the creature appeared to be a machine that looked like some sort of stout and wide breed of dog like an English Bulldog. Its shoulders were roughly as high as a worker drone was tall. Green plates of metal mimicked the overall shape of a dog with two plates forming floppy ears and its chest area was dominated by a large yellow cogwheel. On the sides of the head sat 2 beady red eyes. The four-legged machine let out a bark and a growl at the students, before settling down. Crowler couldn't help but chuckle at bit at his students looking slightly uncomfortable at his monster's large underbite, before he turned to the blackboard to write something down.
By doing so he was completely oblivious of N's reaction to the mechanical dog's appearance.

"As part of its special ability, Ancient Gear Hunting Hound deals 600 points of damage when Normal Summoned to the field. Furthermore, when it attacks the opponent cannot use any spell or trap cards. However, it also has another special ability..." Crowler said before he was suddenly cut off.

"Uhm, Doc C?" Thad said as he raised his arm. Crowler stiffened up as he was so rudely interrupted in his lesson, before turning to his student.

"I swear Thad if this isn't important, I'll make you fail immediately..." He mumbled to himself before turning around to see Thad pointing at something to Crowler's left. Turning his head, he saw N petting the mechanical dog construct, which surprisingly enough seemed to enjoy the affection as it growled happily and leaned into the disassembly drone's touch, wagging its segmented cord-like tail.

"Oh, who's a good boy? Yes. you are. Yes. you are." N cooed with a smile as he kept petting the Ancient Gear Hunting Hound, which let out a short bark as N scratched it behind the floppy ears while Uzi, V and the rest of the class just watched in a mixture of bewilderment and slight envy at him getting to pet the dog. Crowler, however, was slightly irritated at the sight.

"N... disrupt my class again and you may write an essay about today's topic." He said, making N stop as his face fell immediately and pulled his hands back onto the desk. "And you, come back here." Crowler said to the machine dog, which slowly waddled back over to his side where it sat down and looked up with him almost pitifully. "Don't give me that look..." He said feeling slightly bad as the monster was doing its best puppy dog eye impression.

As if to hammer in the last nail into his crumbling defense, the Ancient Gear Hunting Hound let out a strange highpitched whimper.

At that Crowler sighed and petted the dog on the head, making it wag its tail slightly. He quickly cleared his throat and turned back to the class, oblivious to the fact that Lizzie had recorded the whole thing.

"Ahem! As I was saying, my Hunting Hound has a special ability beyond the aforementioned two. Once per turn, it allows the player to Fusion Summon an Ancient Gear fusion monster by using materials from the hand or the field akin to your average Polymerization card." He said before removing Ancient Gear Hunting Hound from his vest and holding up a second one. "Like this. I fuse my Ancient Gear Hunting Hound with another Ancient Gear Hunting Hound from my hand to create Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound."

A second Ancient Gear Hunting Hound materialized before both monsters glowed blue and red and seemed to twirl together into a ball of light which quickly took shape into something new. The newlyformed monster looked practically the same as the original two Ancient Gear Hunting Hounds, except that its body was slightly bigger, the floppy ears were replaced with two triangular crests making it more look like straight ears sitting on the head and the most obvious fact that the monster now sported two heads sitting on necks. Two small blades also were attached to the sides of its shoulders.

With a satisfied hum at his students reaction to the fusion monster's appearance, he turned his back to them and back to the class to write on the blackboard.

"Of course you need for a successful fusion summon the right materials, which are listed right at the top of the card. In this case it needed two specific cards, but those conditions vary from..."

"Uhm... Doctor Crowler?" Uzi said, cutting the teacher.

"What is it now?" Crowler turned back around to see the newly-formed fusion monster was back at N's side. Or rather, it was now laying between N and V with both disassembly drones petting it, though N was more eager to do so while V was more hesitant about it. That didn't stop Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound from leaning into her hand and growling happily at the touch, before leaning up to her face and licking it suddenly making her recoil.

"Ew!" She said, though Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound simply rolled over on its side to get its belly rubbed, which N was more than happy to do.

"Oh good boy!" N said before he too was smothered with kissed from the two headed machine dog, something that brought a small smile on V's face. Crowler, on the other hand, made noises like a boiling tea cattle while the gears in his body began to spin rapidly and his head started to look redder by the second. Uzi seriously doubted that it was just from the glowing eye, which now almost seemed like a search light. V saw this and merely smirked.

"Just continue with the lesson. We are not paying attention anyway." She said, while N was too engrossed getting acquainted with the dog.

"STOP MAKING FUN OF MY LESSONS AND TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!" Crowler shouted as he was about to throw a tantrum at the perceived disrespect towards him as a teacher.

Meanwhile, Uzi couldn't help but also wanting to pet the canine monster, but didn't say so out loud. Not that she would ever admit that anyway.

Later that same day, the videos and pictures Lizzie had taken during class were uploaded on the Outpost 3's social media platform. Since then, Crowler has unofficially been labeled a dog person.

I honestly didn't remember that Crowler hated cats, but I guess that just makes him more of a dog person. Which oddly fits since the Ancient Gear cards that are more bestial look more canine (though Ancient Gear Beast could also be a feline).
