B OF LOVE AND FUN-43

Hi everyone. Thank you for all the reviews after last chapter. Although this story has many chapters, you still seem to like it and that makes me happy. I plan to continue it for a while, until the ideas will dry out in my mind. In this chapter, I will finally write something about their guests in the B - although the story title is B , I have been focusing much on the fun side, but now something different. Hope you will like it.

It was already three weeks, since Charles and Elsie brought the puppy from the forest, who was now known under the name Oscar. They tried to find it's owner, by putting advertisement in the most attended places in the village, but nobody came to pick him up and the slowly adjusted to the thought, that Oscar will now become a permanent member of the B&B family.

Everyone were quite happy about it, as Oscar was a vey good boy, friendly, adorable, so he quickly became a favorite, especially for Charles and Bill, who were spending their time learning him new tricks and sneaking some treats from the kitchen for him. Ladies might have been in love with Oliver, but the gents definitely preferred the puppy. Oscar was following them everywhere, he was their constant companion, during the fishing trips.

There was one member of the household, who was not very happy about Oscar and it was Oliver. From the first moment that he saw him, he was madly hissing and he showed Oscar where his place was quickly, by trying to attack him with his nails. Oscar understood the message and he was no longer trying to make an acquaintance with Oliver.

Other than this small misunderstanding between the B pets, everything went rather well. Elsie was humming a Scottish song, dusting the living room, when she saw the new guests arriving to the B . There was a young married couple, who decided to spend the last days of the summer in the B , a very nervous gentelman, with a reddish beard, who looked like he was whither than pale and a very glamorous woman, who looked like she came straight out of most expensive London clothes store. They all arrived in the afternoon train for few days.

When Elsie saw this unusual group through the window, suddenly she had one of those bad feelings, who were not strange for her as Gaelic woman. She was already used to having them from time to time and it was normal.

The young couple and the nervous gentelman were ok in her eyes, but when she saw this woman, she immediately thought that she will cause problems.

Elsie had this wonderful ability of judging people's characters perfectly-she got that skill working as a housekeeper and it stuck to her. Now, when they were already running a B for a longer time, that skill of her was even stronger, as she was dealing with so many people, that all it took was few minutes with a person, to know what this person was all about.

In the case of this lady, something felt not right and when the group entered the B , Elsie's suspicions were confirmed, when Oscar, who was the most loving creature on the planet, never showing any kind of hostility, suddenly growled to the sight of that lady, showing his teeth.

Elsie was so amazed with this, that she barely had a time to react, but the woman did it faster.

"Can you please get rid of that dog? I wouldn't want him to ruin my dress..."

"I will get the dog outside. Do not worry, Oscar is usually very friendly..."

"Doesn't look like it. Anyway, I always thought, that dogs place is outside."

"Well in this B our rule is different...But I will do my best for him not to disturb you..."-Elsie was rarely unkind to the guests, but in case of this woman, she had an urge, to show her the door and let her know that she is not welcome...She focused on letting Oscar outside, trying to forget about the incident...

Her intuition was not letting her down though. In the dinner time, when Beryl was hustling and bustling in the kitchen and Elsie and Katie were doing their best to help her, Elsie was peeking through the door, watching Charles serving dinner to the guests...

She couldn't help but notice, that this lady was particularly willing to let Charles know, how much she was interested with him and he didn't seem to mind that...He was near her table more than any of the other guests and he was clearly enjoying the attention, that she was giving him...

Beryl peeked through the door too and she decided to express her opinion:

"Have you seen this one? She looks like she is staying in the best hotels usually. Makes you wonder, what that kind of a person is doing in the B&B of ours?"

"I have no idea, but I don't like her from the first sight...You know that Oscar growled, when he saw her?"

"Did he really? He is so friendly...You know what they say, dogs are a good judges of the human nature."

"I think so too...I feel, that she will be trouble..."

"One way or another, I need to finish this dinner...Come on Katie, let's get to work..."

Beryl and Katie got back to the work in the kitchen and Elsie was observing, how this lady was clearly flirting with Charles...She was laughing and squinting her eyes, in a way that was suppose to be flirtatious...Elsie already felt like her blood was on fire...

When the dinner ended and the B&B family gathered to have their own, Elsie noticed a change in Charles...He seemed to be excited and energised, certainly more than usual...She knew why that was... This lady's attention certainly did the job...She was brave enough, to even touch Charles's arms one moment and Elsie's primal instincts were now fully on fire...

It was even worse, when they got to their bedroom, as Charles never stopped talking about this woman, sharing all the bits of information, that he received during the conversation. Lady Raven as the person was called, apparently was leading a rather high life and Charles was on and on about it, to the moment when he was brutally interrupted by Elsie...

"Charles, I'm sorry, but I think that I heard enough about your conversation with Lady Raven."

"Oh? I didn't realize, that it does not interest you Elsie. To bad, because she leads a very interesting life..."

"I'm sure she does, but it's enough of information for me at one day. I would like to go to sleep now.."- Elsie reached to the lamp and she turned it off...Letting Charles know, that she think this discussion is ended."Good night Charles"

"Good night Elsie"

Elsie turned her back on him and she was going to fall asleep quickly, when she suddenly felt that Charles was spooning her and his lips were on the side of her neck. It was usually an entry to their intimate moments, but tonight, Elsie was certainly not in the mood for this...Especially when she realized, what or rather who, made Charles this excited...

"Charles...Not tonight please..."

"Why not Elsie? You usually want us to..."

"I do, but not tonight...I'm very tired and I want to sleep..."

"I see..Good night then..."

The disappointment in his voice was palpable, but she tried not to think about it very much...

Next days were even worse...Elsie had a feeling, that whenever she was turning her head, she saw Charles and that woman together...Charles was in a kind of trance, acting like he was possessed by this woman...

She was laughing from his jokes, she was touching him, whenever she had the opportunity and she seemed to be under complete charm of Charles...She was rude to all of the staff, except for Charles and everyone had enough of her and wanting her to leave...

One afternoon, Elsie saw, that she and Charles were standing under the tree, talking intensely about something...The look on Lady Raven's face, was so enamored, that Elsie felt, that she had to listen to that conversation...She quietly opened a kitchen back door, to listen what they were talking about...

"As I was saying Mr Carson...Or rather Charles? You don't mind me calling you that way, don't you? I had an interesting offer for you.."

"What offer might that be?"

"I would like you to work in my London house..."

"But I have a full time job here, so it would not be possible..."

"Oh come on...You are a man of the world...Handsome, elegant, it's obvious that you had a very high position your whole life...You are wasting yourself in this country B&B ...I can make you be happy and much more satisfied...You could live in one of the greatest houses in London, you could travel with me to the most famous places in the world...The whole world would be open for us..."

"But what job would I do?"

"Officially, you would be my butler, but unofficially...I would have a much more interesting role for you...I'm sure you know what I mean..."-She looked at him so seductively, againg touching his forearm...

"I'm really sorry, but I'm a married man Lady Raven...My wife Elsie is running that B with me..."

"Wake up Charles...We are living in the 30's...Divorce is not a problem now...I know the best lawyers in London...You can be free within few months...You don't want to be stuck with that old Scottish hag here...She is no match for you..."

Just as Lady Raven said those words, Elsie's blood was on fire...She crossed the kitchen door, slamming it loudly and she got an eye to eye with Charles and Lady Raven, holding the broom, which she took from the kitchen...

The shock on Charles's face and fear on Lady Raven's face, made her even more mad...

"That's it Lady...Get out of her now! Go to the station and come back to your glamorous London life! And don't you even dare to come back here anymore! Or you will have to deal with me and that is something that I do not wish to the worst enemy...Get out now!"-Elsie moved closer to the lady, who was trying to hide behind Charles...

"Charles protect me, that woman is crazy..Call the police...!"

"I will give you police! Get out of here, or I will harm you! How dare you hitting on my husband?! You think that your money can buy you everything? Get out of here!"

"My things, I have my things in the room...I need to take it"

"I will pack it and send it to you by train. Now get out of here! Now!"

Lady Raven was running away quickly, not even looking back, as Elsie was still standing with the broom, threating to harm her...

Charles was in the shock and they both watched, as Lady Raven was slowly disappearing on the horizon, when she did, Elsie threw the broom on the ground, still having anger on her face and she left Charles alone in the garden...

She came to their bedroom and sat on the bed, trying to calm herself down...Charles soon joined her...

"Elsie...I don't even know what to say...The way you behaved...Do you know what this means to our B&B ? What potential damage it may cause for us? Are you even aware, how well connected Lady Raven is?"

"I don't know and I don't care...Do you know what it is to watch your husband flirting with that nasty woman for the last couple days? Do you know what it is to feel like a spare part? To be called an old hag? Who does she think she is? And you Charles? How could you?"

"Elsie, I was only trying to be nice, she seemed very interesting, but with time I noticed..."

"I don't care what you noticed Charles!...I don't want to hear about this woman anymore! God! You wanted to make love to me, because you were so excited about her! Do you even realize, how hideous it felt for me?"

"It's not true Elsie...I wanted to make love, because I love you...I'm sorry, I'm really sorry Elsie...I would never betray you in any way...You know that..."

"But obviously you were very interested, with what this woman had to offer to you...Maybe you still are. Come on, you can still catch her on the way to the station...Remember? She is offering you a glamorous London life..."-Elsie had tears in her eyes...As all the stress of the situation, now got to her... When Charles saw her suffering, he couldn't take it..He kneeled in front of her, kissing her hand...

"I'm sorry Elsie...I never meant to hurt you...I swear, that I didn't mean any harm...I admit, that I was interested with her for a moment, but I quickly realized her true intentions...Elsie, you are a woman of my life...I wouldn't trade our life together for living in the palace...I love you so much and this will never happen again..."

"You better make sure it will not...Because next time, I may actually harm any woman who will have her eyes on you...You are mine and you can never forget it...Come one, get up you old booby...You will hurt your knees..."

"Elsie...I now that maybe I should not mention it now, but I love your Scottish, wild temper...It has given me many suprises through the years...Suprises of all kinds, as today..."

"And you must never forget that..."-Elsie touched his cheek lovingly and he took her in his arms... They needed a moment, to make sure that everything was all right again and no woman in the world was ever able to separate them...

That's it for this one. Five words: "Don't mess with Elsie Hughes". I think that Lady Raven got her lesson and she will never try to do it again...I also love Elsie's wild temper, when it's necessary, she is not backing down and it's fantastic! Hope you liked this chapter. Thank you for reading and have a good week!
