Short little chapter, just wanted to see how you guys would like it. Thanks for reading!!
Far From It: Prologue
On a sunny day in Konoha, the playground near the Hokage Monument was alive with amazing energy and welcoming colours.
The laughter from the children occupying the playground was infectious, everyone that could hear the laughter would get caught in a beautiful state themself.
In one corner, a group of kids worked on their ninja skills, imitating their favourite Hokages and monumental figures from the Shinobi world.
The kids climbed the monkey hard with amazing energy, some racing upon the slides that were right beside each other.
A kid was playing tag with another he met at the playground, they both ran from each other, giggling as they tagged one another.
"Sorry. my mom said I need to be back before sundown, I'm surprised your parents let you stay out for this long… I was very lucky my mom let me stay this long, anyways I have to go now!"
"Alright.." the kid responded, it was an immediate mood killer for the kid. One of the only people that would play with him had to go, reality set in as he remembered he had to go home to maybe if he was lucky, decently new vegetables and milk.
He stuck his hands inside his jacket pockets and his head fell to the ground, he kicked at rocks and slowly walked to his apartment.
Naruto arrived and opened the pre unlocked door, he didn't bother locking the door because he assumed nobody cared enough to do anything.
He walked in and did his almost daily routine as a seven year old.
He would eat his food, drink water, make his bed and shut his eyes for the day.
He completed the daily routine, the sun now replaced with the moon.
He went to his bed and closed his eyes, immediately passing out and sleeping.
Satsuki returned to the Uchiha district after a long day at the academy, she stayed after school and worked on studies.
Upon arriving, she realized the district was awfully quiet.
'It's not that late is it?'
She started jogging to the far end of the district, scared her parents may be mad because she misjudged the time.
That was when she noticed it.
The crimson coloured blood on the wall of one of the many houses in the district.
And then the body that the blood belongs to.
Her stomach sank at the sight.
'What's going on??'
She b-lined home in a hurry, she needed to tell her parents the news, as she went deeper into the district, she saw more and more lifeless bodies on the ground.
She swung open the door.
"Itachi!" She ran over to Itachi, initiating a hug.
"I'm sca-" She was cut off by a kick coming her way, sending her into the streets.
Tears were flooding her eyes, streaming down her face.
"The clan is under attack, It's me!"
"Foolish little sister.." He looked her in the eyes.
She was trapped inside a genjutsu, forced to watch her brother slay down her whole clan without remorse.
"Stop! Don't kill them!" She yelled out in horror.
"Not our parents!"
She started clawing at her head, screaming and yelling, finally after what felt like hours upon hours, it was over, she screamed out in terror as the genjutsu ended.
She fell to her knees and looked up, her Sharingan staring deeply into Itachi's eyes.
She cried more than she thought she could; the tears poured out of her eyes.
"If you want to kill me, then despise me, hate me, and live a loathsome life. Run away and run far from here. And then someday, when you have the same eyes as I do, come after me."
Itachi started running away from the scene.
"Wait!"
She chased after him, getting fought off by Itachi.
She stopped and he stopped.
"You can get these eyes as well."
He didn't get any response.
"You just need to kill your best friend."
He ran off, without being chased.
A realisation hit her.
"You killed Shisui…"
Many had lost peers, comrades and friends.
The Uchiha massacre was biggest genocide in recent memory, possibly in the history of the Shinobi world.
Naruto had overheard people talking about the massacre, so he understood why Satsuki wasn't there when he went into class for the last few days.
They got along great, like best friends almost, she was one of the only people that actually talked to him, she talked to him because he was one of the few that didn't obsess over her, while finding his jokes pretty funny.
She was the only reason he stopped eating only ramen and his house wasn't pure filth.
He swung the door to the classroom open to the classroom, expecting a very high energised room, expecting chatter and gossip to be filling the room.
It was the opposite.
It was dead silent, you could hear a pin drop with how silent the room was.
Naruto was confused at first but shortly after scanning the room, he found the answer.
He overheard a whisper between two classmates.
"I heard her whole clan was killed.."
"Do you know who did it?"
"No one does.."
"Why would they spare her?"
Naruto moved slowly to Satsuki, she had her head down in her arms on the table.
He approached her and tapped her on the shoulder, her empty eyes glared back before she put her head down again.
It was silent, Naruto didn't want to say the wrong thing and cause problems.
The whole class had their eyes locked into the conversation, eager to see what Satsuki would say...
"It was Itachi.."
