Chapter Five

My Saturday morning started with my phone going off. My sleep in had been going quite well up until that point. I felt around my nightstand until I got hold of the noisey thing. I rolled over to look at the screen, my eyes taking a second to adjust to the light and read the name.

"Rachel?" I answered into the phone, confused why she was calling me.

"Hey Blue," she said sounding more awake then I was.

"Is everything okay?" I asked, not sure what was going on.

"Yes, sorry I shouldn't have just called so early I didn't look at the time first." Rachel apologised.

"No you're okay, what's up?" I asked, sitting up in bed.

"Well Teresa just sent out an email saying your last day would be October 27th?" She explained but I still wasn't sure why she had called.

"Yes Umm… that's around three weeks out from my due date. I don't think I'll be much use to anyone when I'm the size of a house," I chuckled, rubbing at my eyes.

"I would like you to still visit dad. I would happily pay you of course. Whatever days you can do, even when the baby comes I would like you to stay on. You can do whatever days you want, whatever works for you. I just don't want him to go backwards, he's been so happy the last few weeks with you." I was surprised by the offer.

"Rachel I can't really promise anything," I said slowly. She sounded upset, definitely overly tired. A new baby would do that to a person. Little Finn had arrived three days late much to Rachel's annoyance, he had not stopped crying since from the updates Billy was giving.

"Just think on it. Please?" Rachel asked.

"Of course," I agreed.

"Please don't feel any pressure to say yes. I know it's not an easy choice," Rachel followed up with quickly.

"I'll get back to you in a few days. You sound exhausted, tell Paul to watch that baby and go have a nap." I replied.

"Thanks, Paul has taken the other two to the beach to wear off some energy. They have been up since five," Rachel sighed.

"Dam you're really not selling this mother thing to me," I said and she chuckled dryly.

"They maybe horrible little creatures but you will love them unconditionally because they are yours."

"Remind me of that in a few months," I said back to her.

"Sure thing. I better go change this little poop machine," Rachel said.

"Have fun, I guess," I wasn't sure what else to say.

"Oh I definitely won't. Talk soon," Rachel said.

"Will do, bye," I said ending the call. There was no way I would fall back asleep so after a few minutes of laying there I pulled myself out of bed. I started the dreaded job of packing, or at least organising everything into piles. Embry arrived mid morning. The knocking on the front door could hardly be heard over the music I was playing. I turned down the stereo on my way to the door.

"I have burgers and more boxes," Embry smiled. He held out a brown paper bag and had a bunch of flat pack boxes tucked under his other arm.

"Well I'll take that off your hands. Food first, then packing," I said going to the table with the bag of food.

"Sounds good to me," Embry said, sitting down the cardboard.

"Don't stress over the mess I have a system," I said pulling the food from the bag.

"Really?" Embry asked with a questioning eyebrow. His eyes flicking around the messy room.

"You'll just have to wait and see. What time should Quil be here?" I asked opening the bag of food on the table

"I told him one, so probably after two. Maybe a little later," Embry said, dropping down into a chair.

"That should work good," I said, starting with the fries.

"I gave those pictures to my mum and she said she wants to be in the room when you deliver," Embry said, casually as he picked up one of the burgers. I paused, fries mid air.

"Well that determines it, I'm going to need security outside my door. No way is she coming in that room. You'll be lucky if your allowed in. She will just have to wait to see it once it's out and dried off," I said matter-of-factly.

"I am not telling her that," Embry said, taking a bite of his burger.

"Okay then, tell her my due date is a week later so she won't be expecting it or know when to turn up," I suggest.

"Sorry she's already got it circled in the calendar," he shrugged and I felt like hitting him. I would probably just end up hurting my own hand but it was still fun to think about. I sigh, leaning back in my chair.

"Come on baby, you have to be early, just a few days early so we don't have to have nanny in the room," I said, patting my stomach.

"She's not going by nanny she wants Grammy." Embry said.

"And I want her not to see my vigina, which I feel like I'm not going to get away with," I said throwing fries into my mouth.

"She's got one too," Embry pointed out.

"She's got boobs too, that doesn't mean I'm gonna flash her mine," I shot back before taking a bite of my burger.

"Can we stop talking about my naked mother?" Embry asked, his face scrunching in discomfort.

"There is no way she will be in the delivery room. If I didn't need someone to yell at in there you wouldn't be allowed either. My mother won't be there so neither will yours," I said.

"But that's different. You don't want your mother there," Embry said.

"And I don't want yours there either. Tiffany is great but she does not have to see her grandchild shooting out of me," I grimaced.

"It could be her only one," Embry said and I was sure Tiffany had used the same line on him.

"I'm sure you will find someone else to have sex with eventually Embry, you're not that ugly," I smiled and he gave me an unamused look. "And if you're still using the same shit condoms odds are they will get pregnant too."

"They have been thrown out, what's the point if they don't even work," Embry rolled his eyes.

"Good idea. Well I'm stuffed. This job is gonna suck," I said looking around the room with zero motivation left to do anything.

"You're really not going to eat the rest of your burger?" Embry asked, eyeing the half of burger I had left.

"I'm really not. Go ahead nock yourself out with it." I said pushing the food towards him.

"Don't lift that!" Embry shouted running down the pathway of the new house.

"It's literally a box of pillows, it's lighter then the toaster," I pointed out as I lifted the box with ease.

"Well then you shouldn't have been lifting the toaster either," he grumbled. I rolled my eyes.

"Embry you can either take this box of pillows inside or the box of books. I don't care witch one I carry but I will be carrying one of them." I said giving him an ultimatum.

"You're impossible," he said, shaking his head and grabbing the box of books.

"Thank you, now get the books inside before it starts raining," I ordered. We had been lucky so far and the rain had held off but the sky was quickly getting darker.

"You two are amusing to watch," Quil commented as I walked into the house, dropping the box of pillows in the living area.

"Glad you are amused. Weren't you meant to be helping?" I asked, looking at Quil who was stretched out on the couch.

"Hey I helped move the couch here, I'm allowed to enjoy it," Quil said, snuggling deeper into the couch.

"Okay, but you know that's likely the same couch this baby was conceived on, right?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yuck," Quil said, getting up off the couch quickly.

"She's lying," Embry said, walking through the front door.

"You're right, we fell off the couch so it would have been on that rug," I said pointing to the rug Quil was standing on bare foot. He scrunched his nose up.

"Stop messing with him, it was the back seat of the truck," Embry said with a smirk.

"You mean the seat I sat in on the way here?" Quil asked, looking more horrified his mouth dropping open.

"Possibly," I nodded in agreement.

"I can't tell if you are being serious or joking," Quil said throwing his hands in the air. "I'm out." He said walking out the front door muttering to himself. "Last time I help-"

"You're right, he is fun to mess with," I smiled at Embry.

"Wait until he works out I was borrowing his truck that week," Embry said quietly with a wide smiled. I let out a laugh.

"We will save that detail until he's having a good day. His truck has really nice seat covers though," I smiled.

"Yeah they were. Where did you want the books?" Embry asked, still holding the heavy box like it was nothing.

"My room please," I smile leading the way down the hall. I had taken the last room in the hallway. Since it would also be my office it made sense for me to take the larger room. "Just sit it in the corner I'll unpack them tomorrow."

"Sure thing," Embry carried the box over to the corner and placed it by two others.

"You made the box look light," I frown.

"I work out," Embry said with a wink.

"You say that but I've never seen you at a gym," I laughed.

"Who needs a gym when you have to lift boxes of books," Embry smiled.

"Funny." I said my eyes locked on his arms. The t-shirt he wore had no sleeves and his muscular arms were on full display.

"Blue?" Embry asked.

"Yeah?" I said not moving my eyes.

"You're staring at me," Embry said, nervously shuffling in his spot.

"Sorry pregnancy hormones. I think the lamp is attractive as well so don't get a big head over me staring at your arms." I smirked looking up at him. Dam those pregnancy hormones.

"Ouch, the lamp can't do half the things I can," Embry laughed.

"I guess not," I said, swallowing the lump in my throat as I thought about what he could do.

"I think you're drooling," Embry said with a wink.

"Mmm," I said stepping forward and pressing a kiss to his lips.

"What are you doing?" Embry asked pulling back from the kiss after a few moments of hesitation.

"We can either have sex right now or never talk about this again," I offered, looking up at him. His eyes went wide and he studied my face for a minute to see if I was joking or not.

"Well you can't get any more pregnant," Embry suggested.

"Great point," I pressed my lips back to his. Dam, dam, dam those pregnancy hormones.
