Chapter 4. Attack from unknown forces, unknown beasts
At the NEST Raven, Naruto and Sasuke are seen with many other mercenaries looking at the large screen as the official's announces that the arena is now open, the board is then revealed showing who are the top five along with the number one pilot known as Hustler one and his red A.C 9Ball, Sasuke looks at the A.C with a hateful glare remembering what machine did to that got his Family killed.
Sasuke: … 9ball… I'm going to reduce you to scrap metal.
Naruto: man there's a lot of participants in there…
Raven: it look like anyone who enters the arena must work their way through to reach the top five.
Sasuke: … I intend to bury him in his grave.
The two don't say anything as they know nothing they say will not change Sasuke's mind or his decision, the three then goes to get registered so they can fight in the arena.
They soon took part in F rank arena which they showed just how skilled they are as they mopped the floor with the others once they were done the three then decided to take on a mission from KISARAGI who wants a team to handle a situation for them.
Raven: what makes this mission say there hiding something.
Sasuke: I say they are.
Naruto: I second say it to.
Raven: … let's go.
(Scene change)
Big Boss is seen in his A.C taking a mission from MIRAGE as they want him to handle a terrorist group that is talking nonsense about something is wrong with the System that powers the layered, Big Boss spots the group and started taking them down.
Big Boss: sorry about this, don't blame yourselves blame me…
Terrorist 1: we can't give up, we can't…
Terrorist 2: is all these idiots that blinded to this illusion and not see what is happening to layered!
Big Boss continues to take down more of the terrorists until there was little of them, then Boss sends MIRAGE a message that says all of the enemy's been destroyed, after the corporation received the message there forces then started to leave the area.
As they do Big Boss then gives the signal to the remaining terrorist forces to come out of hiding, Big Boss gets out of his A.C and approached them.
Terrorist: what do you want mercenary?
Big Boss: I want answers, and you people have them, the real truth about what is happening in Layered and why.
Terrorist: !?
(Scene change)
(Ace Combat Zero - Annex)
In a facility owned by KISARAGI, Raven, Naruto and Sasuke arrived at the mission and enters the facility to take care of the job that they were given as they go deeper the three encounter a large insect like creatures in the facility.
Naruto: what the heck are these things!
Raven: it looks like a new weapon they created, the bio kind.
Sasuke: let's go get this over with.
The three then started exterminating the creatures in the facility one after the other, but they learned that there was more of them then the three thought there was, Naruto was already getting creeped out by these new weapons that the corporations are working on and he doesn't like neither does the other two.
After a few minutes the three finally cleared out the entire facility of enemies and prepares to leave the area now that the mission is complete.
Raven: mission, accomplished.
Naruto: … I hope… we don't have to… see another creepy insect like that… ever again.
Sasuke: too bad Naruto, if the corporations are making these things then… sadly we're all going to be facing them again in the near future.
Naruto: !? NOOOOOOOoooo…
Raven: well that's a shame, let's get out of here and get our pay.
Naruto: … yeah right…
(End of music)
The three then leave the area and is returning to Raven's NEST to rest after another mission done.
(Scene change)
Back at the NEST big Boss is seen in his room talking with the other pilots about the terrorists group he fought against who revealed to be called Union who are looking into the system and what is happening with it.
Big Boss: listen up… we need to look into areas that the corporations are not letting anyone into especially us pilots as well
Jack-O: what about the unknown individual called Hustler one, my contacts all of my contacts say that no one has heard anything about him.
Big Boss: true, which means we may have found who is helping the corporations in gaining more power for now everyone is to do these important missions in secret from Union so the system won't get suspicious of us understand?
Everyone: yes.
Big Boss: good, this meeting is over dismissed.
Everyone leaves the chat room and Big Boss turns off his computer, the next day the three are seen participating in E rank arena which they are once again defeating many of there enemies and is now allowed to move on to the D rank Arena.
The group leaves the arena and is looking at the large screen which shows Nine Ball as its pilot says something to the rest of the pilots.
Hustler: all of you can rise to the top as much as you want, it doesn't matter to me who you are no one can defeat me!
Sasuke: … keep saying that because you will be the one in the ground like all the others.
The three looks at the screen with determination to defeat Hustler and prove they are the best of the best in the NEST, then everything fades to black.
