Epilogue 1
Glad that I got this done quicker than I expected (by my standards at least).
Now on with the show!
Earth-92131
New York City
It was a sunny afternoon in the Big Apple and, despite the regular supervillain attacks, it happened to be a quiet day. Well, as quiet as New York City can be. But then, a certain Time/Space Machine landed next to the Sanctum Sanctorum. With the famous Vorwp, Vorwp sound. The TARDIS doors opened and out came the Doctor, his wife, and two companions.
"Are you sure this is the right place River?" Rory asked.
"I'm sure of it," River said. She put one of her fingers in her mouth and pointed it out. A part of her Time Lady half sensing where and when they are. "Yep, New York City of Earth-92131."
"Remember being on this Earth. Helped Ben Grimm set up a date, oh, and also we were held captive by the Dr. Doom of this world." The Doctor reminisced. "Don't worry we escaped and defeated that villain."
"And let me guess. You were the third wheel on that date." River asked.
"Well, to be fair, during that adventure, I was wearing a long scarf and introduced myself with jelly babies. Besides Sarah Jane recently stopped being my companion, so I wasn't exactly in the mood for a new one just yet." The Doctor explained.
"Another new adventure you just remembered?" Amy asked.
The Doctor continued. "Yes, perhaps we shall go to the Baxter Building and catch up with Ben, plus I wanted to meet a Reed Richards that is a hero. After, of course, we return the magic artifacts to Clea."
After walking for a couple of blocks, the time travelers reached the Sanctum Sanctorum of that universe. River then knocked on the door and the Wong of that world answered them. As soon as he saw River, Wong's expression changed from somber to happy. Knowing that she got what Clea asked her to do.
After Wong escorted them to the parlor of the magical building, Clea entered the room. Her expression was one of joy and happiness that River had returned her husband's Cloak of Levitation and Eye of Agamotto to her.
Clea hugged River in gratitude and said. "I can't thank you enough, Ms. Song."
"Darling please, it's Professor Song. But yes, the pleasure is all mine." River replied.
"Were you able to find out who killed my husband?" Clea asked, her tone was somber now.
River answered. "A bunch naughty Skrulls had set up base on Earth-702 where your husband was investigating their activity there it seemed. They captured me for a while as I tracked your husband down, but my husband and his companions were able to free me, along with a couple of prisoners, and set those Skrulls straight out of that world."
"Your husband?" Clea said curiously. She then turned and saw the Doctor. "Ah, you must be the Doctor that I have heard so much about. Ben Grimm has spoken highly of you."
"Pleasure is all mine ma'am." The Doctor shook Clea's hand.
"Thank you for avenging my husband," Clea said, grateful towards the time travelers. She put on the Cloak of Levitation on and seemed to have become the new Sorcerer Supreme of Earth-92131. But then her expression changed to a puzzled expression.
"What does that mean?" Amy asked a bit confused. "Because that face you're having can't be good."
"The Cloak. It's telling me that I am not destined to become the Sorcerer Supreme of this reality." Clea answered.
"Then who is the successor of Dr. Strange supposed to be?" Wong asked.
Clea continued. "Someone from another Earth, another universe. Earth-060322 is where I am supposed to go and train her."
Suddenly Clea vanished in a flash of light, to Amy and Rory's shock.
Wong then broke the silence. "I believe Clea has teleported to the Earth where the next Sorcerer Supreme hails from."
"Wonderful, I am sure that Luz will make an excellent Sorcerer Supreme." The Doctor stated.
Everyone in the room, except River, just stared at the Time Lord.
Wong, for the first time in a long time, said. "What?"
"Sorry," River explained. "Been having a lot of timey-wimey memory issues throughout his many lives."
Wong just nodded knowing that this would be the best statement that was being presented to him.
River then remembered something. "Here, catch" She then threw Wong a tiny cylinder.
Before Wong could respond, River answered. "It contains the shrunken corpse of Dr. Strange. Recommend that you dowse the container in water to turn the body back to its original size."
The sorcerer just walked towards the Sanctum's kitchen. These were, well, strange in his mind. And he has seen it all.
The time travelers returned to the TARDIS afterwards.
"Are you sure you want to go?" Amy asked. "I thought at least we were going to wait for Dr. Strange's funeral."
"Positively sure." The Doctor answered. "Besides, we're hunting Skrulls." He said the last sentence in an Elmer Fludd accent.
His companions and wife just rolled their eyes.
The Doctor then asked his wife. "So River, where and when do you want me to drop you off? Now that my ship can travel the Multiverse, I wonder if you want to be dropped off in a universe that is not our own?"
"Actually," River responded. "I want to travel with you for the time being. You, you I mean. At least until this Multiverse business is concluded."
"Don't you know how these Multiverse adventures end?" Rory asked. "You are the biggest expert on the Doctor after all."
"I'm the dark as much as anyone else has on these adventures my husband is having throughout this Multiverse," River answered. "And I'm determined to see how it ends."
Everyone else in the TARDIS just shrugged. More help against the Skrull wouldn't hurt.
River, however, knew how it would end for her parents. She remembered the last time she saw Amy and Rory before, in Manhattan. In a cemetery with the Weeping Angels.
Raggedy Man. Goodbye.
Earth-4444
Republic City
In a seedy bar on the tough side of the city. The Bio-Borg called Replicon was having a drink. He thought the alcohol in it would somehow taste differently on this Earth compared to the one he came from. Not really.
Two individuals, a man and a woman, approached his table. So he stopped drinking and faced them as they sat down on the opposite side.
Replicon then spoke giddily. "Glad to see that you guys got my message." He then smiled wide. "So do any of you two have any questions that I need answering?"
"A lot." The woman said. "But first, why should we recruit you to the Triple Threat Triad?"
Replicon explained. "Well, you all know that the entire city has been experiencing robberies at the biggest banks within it in the last couple of days. And that each robbery has been committed by the bosses of the Triads respectively, except, of course, the Triple Threat."
"Yeah." The man said. "Biggest news in this city. Well, second biggest news, since the Avatar turns out to be gay."
"Well, all those robberies were done by me," Replicon exclaimed.
Both thugs then laughed.
"Really." The woman said with skepticism. "You? You're the most unassuming guy in this bar."
"Oh, you mean how I look now." Replicon then smiled. "How about this then." He then shifted his face into the form of the gangster woman.
The woman herself was a bit shocked and then produced a small burst of fire in her hand.
Her accomplice then said, his expression unchanged asked. "What are you, some kind of spirit?"
"You mean those funny things here that wouldn't look out of place in a cartoon or one of Zach Easel's works. Then no, I am a Bio-Borg from another Earth." Replicon explained, his voice now the woman's.
"A what?" The woman was confused, along with her accomplice. Who was this guy?
Replicon continued. "My name was originally Jack Ledger, but now I call myself Replicon. I was once a discredited actor with too much drama attached to me until a brilliant man named Cybron gave me this awesome power. I was recently captured by aliens from another dimension, but I escaped and ended up here."
"Interesting story, that wouldn't look out of place in one of my son's panel books." The man stated.
The woman, who was more skeptical and had a flame in her hand, said. "But why commit those robberies? And can you please turn back to the previous face you had, this one is just weird to look at."
Replicon, as he shifted his face back to the previous one he wore, said. "To prove how valuable I can be to you guys. Not to mention, judging from what I've read on the news since I got here, this Avatar woman seems to have been giving you guys some tough luck. Plus, I helped you guys get rid of some competition."
The man sighed. "Let me guess, you want to join our Triad. Why us?"
"Simple," Replicon responded, still having that smile on his face. "Because I want to have fun in this new world." He then laughed knowing that they had to say yes because of his Bio-Borg powers.
The man nodded to the woman, and the latter then stopped her firebending. The lead gangster said. "I don't know who exactly you are, but our operations have taken a hit ever since Tokuga disappeared thanks to the Avatar."
"What you're saying is that I'm hired," Replicon stated. "When does the fun begin?"
In Replicon's mind, he couldn't wait to run around circles on this Avatar chick. This was going to be fun in his mind.
As said at the beginning of this epilogue, I am glad that I got done a bit quickly.
First I'd like to thank Movie-Brat for his input on how to write River returning the Cloak of Levitation and Eye of Agamotto to Clea. Kudos to you.
As for River knowing how her parents leave the Doctor, I thought that would make for an interesting story arc for her in IC. Given that the Doctor's timeline is now wonky in IC right now.
Originally I had Replicon joining the Red Lotus, but then, as I was about to write that scene I thought he didn't know how to contact them given how secretive that organization is. So I decided on the Triple Threat Triad instead.
Replicon's real name Jack Ledger is nod to Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger. Mainly in that when DMing L1701E, he told me that he intended for Replicon to be the Skysurfer-verse equivalent to the Joker.
