Movie 2: Tree of Might
Barreling through the vacuum of space, a silver drone descended upon the Earth with mysterious intentions.
Ignorant to the newest arrival's descent, several familiar faces continued setting up their camp next to a serene lake. Krillin, dressed in a black collared shirt and white pants, carried pails of water back to the tent. Bulma and Oolong were busy cooking the meals, the little piggy grunted as a bunch of burnt soot covered his snout. His predicament earned teasing laughs from his friends.
"Sorry, we're late!"
The humans and pig turned around to see young Son Gohan, dressed in a stereotypical camping outfit with a huge camping bag on his back. He wasn't alone, however, since he was holding hands with his aunt Fami. The Famine Devil chewed on some jerky, her short white skirt fluttering while jerky bits littered her purple top. "Yo." Fami lazily waved her jerky.
The three were a bit surprised by Gohan's appearance and Fami's presence. "Gohan…what's with the weird clothes?" Oolong asked.
"Mom thought it would be funny since I'm camping with you guys." Gohan answered.
"What's with the large bag?" Bulma asked.
Gohan happily patted his backpack. He let go of his aunt's hand to show the others what was inside. "Mom gave me some homework to do since I'll be out here for a few days." Even after taking out a few of the books, the bag still looked massive. "Also, there's food in here to help keep Auntie fed. Mom says I'm not allowed to let her have too much, no matter how much she begs."
"What is she, a dog?" Goku's close companions sweat dropped.
"Speaking of…" Krillin looked at the pink-haired Devil. "Why are you here, Fami? I thought only Gohan was coming."
Fami finished her jerky, then reached into her pocket for another. "I was bored and Makima didn't want me at the house, so I followed Gohan to keep an eye on him."
Something told the group that it was actually the other way around but decided to keep quiet for now. Well, deciding to move on with the trip, Bulma clapped her hands. "Since you're both here, you can help us finish setting things up for the night. You can set your tent next to mine."
Fami looked down at her nephew. "I'm sleeping in your tent, Gohan."
"Really?! So, it's like a sleepover?!" Gohan's bright eyes made the Devil's heart melt.
"Yes, one where you let me eat the food in that bag."
"Mom said no."
"Your Mom isn't here."
"She'll know anyway."
"...True."
While Fami sulked over her nephew's 'betrayal', the others continued to finish setting up their camp.
In the middle of the night, while all was quiet, the drone from earlier rocketed down like a falling star. It crashed deep into the forest, creating a decently sized crater with smoke billowing out of it. Because of the heat of the explosion caused by the drone, the forest's trees caught fire. It didn't take long for the flames to spread, starting a huge forest fire that illuminated the night.
Fami was already awake when the fire started, she paused in her sneaky eating. Krillin jumped out of his tent next, causing her to quickly hide the food back into the camping bag to avoid getting caught. Thankfully, the monk was far too focused on the terrible forest fire. "Fire! There's fire!"
Bulma, Oolong, and Gohan came out of their tents. The human woman and pig screamed in fear at the sight while Gohan looked distraught at the destruction of nature. He could hear the sounds of the wildlife cries as they ran around in a terrified panic.
"Quick! We have to upwind it!" Bulma yelled.
"W-which w-w-way is upwind?!" Oolong asked, panicking.
Krillin looked at his best friend's son. "Gohan, we'll use our KI to blow the flames out! Can you do that?!"
"Yes!" Gohan nodded his head. He looked over at his aunt. "Auntie, help us out!"
"Fine, as long as I get to eat what's in the bag."
"Okay, thanks!" Gohan pulled his aunt along with him and Krillin. The three raced through the burning forest. Once they've found their positions, the three unleashed blasts of air to snuff out the raging flames. Gohan stopped his efforts when he heard a shrill cry echo throughout the trees. Stepping away from his friend and aunt, the young hybrid found a small pink and blue dragon stuck under a fallen tree. Another tree was about to crush the dragon until Gohan caught the burning wood in his hands. He tossed it away, then lifted the other tree to free the dragon from his danger. "Now's your chance!"
"KRIIII!" The dragon shouted his thanks, then took off into the skies.
Fami, tired of wasting time, whipped out a small pebble-like creature. She flicked it outwards into the sky, allowing it to expand. "Water Devil, cleanse the forest."
The blue coral-like creature followed its master's orders. It spread out its arms and released a torrential burst of water from its body. The waves of blue water drenched the forest, nailing every inch of it where the fire likely had spread. Once the flames had been sufficiently snuffed out, Fami recalled her captured Devil, ignoring its pleas of sustenance.
"There. Done." Fami lazily said.
"T-thanks, Fami." Krillin said between some tired breaths. The Devil shrugged her shoulders, then braced herself as her nephew hugged her. She draped one arm over him to return the affection.
"For a second there, I thought we were screwed." Bulma said as she and Oolong made their way over to them.
The humans, hybrid, pig, and Devil took in the damage caused by the fire. It had taken them too long to put a stop to it, thus the beautiful landscape had been turned into a charred wasteland. Several of the animals still left mourned the loss of their homes and families.
Gohan looked down at the dragon he had saved earlier, frowning at his saddened expression. "Poor guys."
"Gohan…" Krillin understood the kid's pain. Then an idea came to him, prompting him to turn to Bulma. "Bulma, can we use the Dragon Radar?!"
"The Dragon Radar…?"
Gohan was confused as well until he realized what the monk was planning. "Krillin, you're a genius!" The two shared a laugh, excited that they'll be able to restore the forest back to normal.
Fami didn't understand the excitement over the thought of restoring the forest. Unlike her sisters, she didn't have the energy to voice her opinion. Thus, she allowed her nephew and Krillin to race around the world to gather the seven Dragon Balls together.
Unfazed by the restoration of the forest, the drone emerged from the crater it had buried itself in. The device trekked through the forest, scanning the thriving environment, transmitting its feed back to the ones that had sent it.
Traversing through the emptiness of space, a singular spaceship pushed past the stars waiting for its next destination. Inside the ship, one of several individuals observed the feed being transmitted by the drone.
The first one is a big burly man with light red skin, dressed in a familiar set of battle armor. There were two small spikes each coming out of his shoulder pads. He wore dark blue pants with red covering over them. His dark crimson hair was tied into a long ponytail. This man is Amond.
The next is a cyborg. He is marked by cyborg components adorned over skin similar in appearance to magma. The only organic parts of his body not covered by his cyborg parts are his neck, head, and part of his arms. He has yellow eyes. His battle armor can open to reveal rocket propulsion jetpacks located inside his legs, shoulders, and chest, which he can use to rapidly ascend. He wears a red scouter. His name is Cacao.
Thirdly, is a humanoid-looking man with lightly tanned skin. He sports a punk-rock look, has dark teal hair with a ponytail, wears earrings, and a jewelry necklace. He also wears a red counter and similar battle armor. His name is Daiz.
The last two are a set of identical twins. They are purple skinned, ovular-headed and rather short. They're both dressed in dark purple battle armor. Their names are Raisin and Lakasei.
"Lord Turles, there are life signs coming from Earth." Amond reports to their leader.
Their leader, dressed in a dark cloak, stalked forward. "There couldn't be. Earth is the planet Kakarot was sent to long ago. Then again, it is too beautiful."
BEEP!
"Hm? Oh~! Lord Turles, you will be most pleased. Earth's soil appears to be suitable for growing the Tree of Might." Amond informed his leader.
Turles smirked with a dark chuckle.
As the setting sun gave birth to a dazzling color in the sky, the barking of several dogs could be heard through the clearing. Son Goku, the strongest man on the planet, giggled happily as he ran around with several dogs of different breeds chasing him around. He jumped over their german shepherd, then spun around the great dane that attempted to tackle him. Goku ducked under the golden retriever's leap. "C'mon, you guys are gonna have to be quicker than that to catch me!" Loud enthusiastic barks followed his cocky claim, each dog was determined to catch their master.
Goku chuckled until he felt something coming up from behind him. He raised his arm, blocking a kick from his son. "Nice try, Gohan, but that's not gonna work either!"
"Oh yeah?" Gohan smirked.
"Eh-WAHHH!" Goku exclaimed as several large bodies collided with his back. His son jumped out of the way as all seven of their dogs climbed on top of the orange hero. Their paws stomped along his back; their slobber drooped all over him.
"See, we got you, Dad!" Gohan laughed. He could hear his father's muffled laughter which was soon clearer as he slowly pushed the dogs off of him.
"Alright, that was a pretty sneaky trick there, son." Goku ruffled his son's hair affectionately. Soon enough the dogs crowded around him to receive some loving pats as well. "Okay, okay, you guys can get some too." Each one got a loving pat along their heads and necks.
"Darling! Gohan!" The two looked back towards their home, where Makima could be seen coming outside. She was dressed casually in gray sweatpants and a black Scooby-Doo T-shirt. "Bring the dogs back inside before it gets too dark! It's time for dinner!"
"Coming!" Father and son responded. Goku motioned towards Makima, which was all the message the dogs needed to head for the house. Just the sight of their other master was enough to get some excited barks from them. However, before they could reach the door, something made the dogs stop in their tracks. Shivers of fear and anger coursed through the animals, their eyes shifting towards the woods.
The Son Family was put on guard immediately, trusting the keen senses of the canines to prepare for something potentially dangerous. Goku stood in front of Gohan protectively, while Makima's eyes scanned for the threat. Gohan's eyes widened when he saw what exactly had found its way to their home. "It's you!"
"Eh?" Goku and Makima looked at their son.
Gohan pushed past his father to greet the dragon he had saved during the forest fire. The young mythical creature cooed loudly at the approaching hybrid. "The mountain dragon! Hehe!" Gohan happily exclaimed. The dragon leaned in close and started licking the boy's face, making the young hybrid giggle.
Seeing as the creature wasn't a threat, Makima ushered the dogs inside quickly. The matriarch motioned for her husband, and he nodded his head. "Gohan!" Makima called to her son, gaining his attention.
"Yes, Mom?"
"Don't you think you have some explaining to do?" She pointed at the dragon.
Gohan looked back at the happy dragon, then back at his parents. "O-oh, right! Uh, do you remember that friend I told you about when I came back from the camping trip?"
"Ah, yeah!" Goku remembered that conversation a few days ago. "Pretty big friend you made." He chuckled.
"Can't say I'm surprised that you conveniently forgot to tell us that your friend was a dragon." Makima's hard stare made the boy flinch.
"S-sorry, Mom…" Gohan muttered.
She shook her head, uncrossing her arms. "It's fine, Gohan. Your friend isn't dangerous, so you aren't in trouble. Just be sure to be more honest with us in the future."
Their son's mood brightened quickly. "O-okay! Can we at least keep him?"
"No." Makima's immediate response killed the boy's mood again. "He's too big to live in the house and he'll simply grow larger. His presence is also freaking out the dogs, so that's the other reason." Gohan's head lowered even more as his mother's logical reasoning was listed off. " I have no qualms with you wanting to keep him as a friend," Gohan gasped. "But he can't live in the house."
"I can't just leave him alone in the mountains, Mom! What if he gets lost or leaves forever?" Gohan brings up his own point.
Goku snapped his fingers. "Don't worry about that, Gohan. I got the perfect place for him to live."
Goku led his son and the dragon to a small cave located close to their home. The dragon sniffed around the cave, while the boy placed a crate of food down on the ground. His mother had been generous enough to prepare a crate of food that should be able to keep the dragon fed for a week. He turned to his dad with an appreciative smile. "Wow, it's perfect! Thanks, Dad!"
"No problem, son." Goku said.
"Where did you even find a cave like this anyway?" Gohan asked.
Goku looked around the cave, old memories replaying through his head. "Just a little place that I used to keep stuff that I collected when I was a kid."
"Really? Where did it all go?" Gohan asked.
"When me and your Mom got married, we cleaned it out. Some stuff had gotten too worn out to keep and the stuff we did keep is sitting in the storage." Goku explained. He reached down and picked up Gohan, placing the boy on his shoulders. "Now, come on. Let's hurry and get back for dinner before your Mom gets mad!"
Gohan had to agree there. He was getting hungry and his Mom getting angry was never a pretty sight. He turned around to the dragon and waved goodbye. "See ya, dragon! I'll come visit you tomorrow morning!"
"KIIIII!" The dragon cried gleefully.
Goku hummed softly as he trekked out of the cave. "Have you thought of a name for him yet?"
"Oh? No, I don't think he has a name yet. Can we come up with names over dinner?" Gohan asked his dad.
"Sure! We can make a game out of it!" He chuckled. Father and son continued to chat as they hurried back to their home, ignorant to the dark shadow looming over their world once more.
Yamcha and Puar flew through the air in their brand-new jet car. The ex-bandit turned to his best friend with a proud look. "So, buddy, how's the ride?"
"It's the best!" The little transforming cat cried.
"It is, isn't it? I bought it off a 15-year loan, after all."
"Can't believe someone offered you that much for it."
"W-well, I am a world-famous participant of the World Martial Arts Tournaments." Yamcha puffed his chest.
"But you never won, Yamcha."
Deciding to ignore that comment, the ex-bandit focused on flying. "This'll surely surprise everyone when we show up to the party."
"Still, I'm surprised Makima agreed to host a party at their house. I guess Goku managed to convince her to loosen up a bit, huh?" Puar chuckles.
"Probably, though, we should still make sure to be…" Yamcha's words died slowly as something overtook his senses. His friend was confused by his silence, wondering what was going on. Yamcha looked out the window, gazing up at the sky. "What is this KI…?"
Awakening from his meditation, Piccolo felt a similar dark presence approaching the planet. "For a while now… I've been sensing an ominous energy."
A silver blade was torn out of a man's neck, allowing the dead body to slump to the floor. Surrounding the black-haired woman with dual scars along her face was a plethora of bloody corpses. The War Devil placed her weapon back into its sheath and exited the abandoned apartment building. She had just finished cleaning up some useless crime mafia that dared to cross her path. Her eyes trailed up to the sky, trying to pinpoint the location of the ominous KI. "Shit. It's just one thing after another…isn't it?"
Standing over the crater made by the drone, Amond uprooted the ground, creating a massive explosion that shook the surrounding area. Coincidentally, Yamcha's jet was flying over the area, causing him and Puar to spiral through the air until the jet exploded.
Daiz flicked a small seed into the crevice created by Amond. "Hurry and take root, little seed."
"Hurry and bear fruit, the glorious Tree of Might!"
Since he still had some time before the party started, Gohan took this chance to play with his newest dragon companion. The two played fetch in the air, splashed each other with water from a small ravine, and even took a small nap in a meadow of flowers.
"Gohan! It's time to get ready!" Goku's voice called out to the boy.
Looking away from his dragon, the boy called back. "Okay, Dad! I'm coming!" He looked back at the dragon. "We'll play later, okay?"
"Kiii!" The dragon licked his face playfully, earning a small giggle.
"Hehe! We still have to find a name for you." Gohan said, giving the dragon one last pat on the head. As Gohan rushed back towards his home, the dragon stared off into the distance. His instincts could feel the shift the planet was going under, confused by the phenomenon.
Beneath the surface of the Earth, the tiny seed started to grow. All it took was one root making contact with the planet for it to increase its growth speed. Hundred and hundred of roots buried themselves into the soil, draining the planet's nutrients. Their size became massive enough to the point that they burst out of the ground. Massive roots tore through the surrounding forest, stealing the lifeforce of surrounding plants and animals.
Above the planet's atmosphere, Turles looked down at the Earth from his ship. "To think the Earth would be the perfect place to grow the Tree of Might. This is all thanks to Kakarot keeping the planet unharmed."
Before the day could finish, the tree had completed its growth. A gargantuan dark tree towered over the land like the grim reaper's scythe. Even cities weren't safe from the tree's effects, buildings of many sizes were collapsing from the earthquakes caused. People screamed in fear of getting crushed, trying to find some form of shelter. Humans and Devils could only stare at the roots in amazement, wondering where such a thing could have come from.
"Man…that sounds rough, Yamcha." Goku said to his old friend. He, the rest of his friends, and his family listened to Yamcha's tale of how he lost his brand new vehicle. Pity was the only thing they could possibly give him. Fami probably would too if she wasn't focused on eating a box of donuts.
"Yeah, my whole 15-year loan is all gone." Yamcha muttered.
"Why did you buy something so expensive?!" Bulma criticized her ex-boyfriend.
Krillin raised a brow. "I don't think you can judge here."
"And how come?!"
None of the men wanted to answer that question, fearing their lives would end swiftly. Seeing that she quelled any smartasses, Bulma shifted her eyes back to the whimpering baseball player. "I bet you were just trying to impress some girls!"
"N-not at all! That wasn't my intention!"
"You never think before you act and that's why you're broke!"
Gohan was about to say something until his mother gave him a look to keep quiet. She didn't need him getting involved in something that didn't involve him and she was also enjoying the sight of Yamcha quaking in fear.
"In any case…" Roshi tried to dispel the awkward atmosphere. "Thanks for allowing us to come over, Makima, Goku."
The Control Devil set down her cup of tea. "I don't allow people to come over often but you are darling's friends. So, I can allow it."
"You missed them too, Makima." Goku chuckled.
"I think you might've hit your head again, darling." Makima denied the implications. She looked over towards the kitchen. "It's time for the food to be finished. Gohan, give me a hand."
"Yes, Mom!" Gohan jumped out of his chair to assist his mother until he heard a soft tapping against the window. Looking over, he saw his dragon pushing his snout against the glass. "The dragon…!" Gohan hurried towards the door, forgetting the order his mother had just given him.
Stepping outside, he addressed his friend. "What are you doing here? We can't play right now."
"Kiii! Kiii!" The dragon was trying to tell him something. He turned around, trying to signal the boy to follow him.
"Gohan! What did I say?"
The boy flinched from his mother's tone. "S-sorry, Mom! I'll be there in a second!" He tried to make his friend leave. "You have to go now. We'll play later tonight, okay?" His friend kept trying to get his attention but Gohan was firm in his stance. He pushed the dragon away lightly, then hurried back inside.
Makima handed the boy a pot to hold as she carried the rest of the food. "It was the dragon, was it?"
"Y-yeah. He looked like he wanted something." Gohan replied.
"Whatever it is will have to wait once the party is over. Now let's hurry before your Father tries to eat the table again." Makima's reminder of the table incident caused him to laugh a bit.
Goku yoinked one of Fami's donuts, earning a slight growl from his sister-in-law. He gave her a cheeky grin and brought the pastry to his lips.
"GOKU!"
"Eh? King Kai?" Goku heard the voice of his most recent mentor. His distraction allowed Fami to swipe the donut back from him. She let out a pleased noise as she ate it whole. The rest of the table, alongside Makima and Gohan, paid close attention to Goku.
"Goku! Something terrible is happening!"
"Something terrible?"
"A ghastly tree known as the Tree of Might has taken root across the whole Earth."
"Tree of Might?" Goku repeated the name. Makima placed the food onto the table, then pressed her fingers along her husband's head to listen in on the conversation.
"Ordinarily, only Gods are allowed to eat the fruit from the tree. Once the Tree of Might has taken root, it bears fruit until it has taken all of the nourishment from the planet. The world becomes a desert wasteland, and it says that not even a blade of grass will grow in its soil for several centuries afterwards."
"How can that be?!" Goku gasped.
"In other words, once it has taken root it is already too late. The tree will suck all of the nutrients out of the Earth until there is nothing left."
"Then, the Earth is-!"
"It's already too late."
"As seen before, even the Gods are too afraid to handle things on their own." Makima said, earning an outcry from King Kai. "That tree is nothing more than a parasite that must be uprooted. All I need to do is get to its core and take control."
"Will you listen to me?! That tree has already infused itself with the planet's core! It can't be removed!"
"We'll never know unless we try!" Goku declared, growing serious. His family and friends shared similar sentiments after having the situation explained to them. Forgoing the party, the fighters raced out of the house and made a beeline for the tree's location.
"A little longer, and the fruit will be ripe." Amond said. He and the rest of the Crusher Crops observed the growth of the tree's fruit for their leader.
"After eating the fruit which has absorbed all of the energy from the Earth, our power will rise once again." Diaz said.
"The Crusher Corps, the strongest force in the universe, will be invincible wherever we go!" Rasin declared.
"Even Freeza will be easy to handle." Lakasei added. "Lord Turles will be the emperor of the universe!"
"Da!" Cacao agreed.
"And it's all thanks to the tree's fruit."
"No." Turles' voice disagreed with the claim. He exited the ship, his cloak billowing with the breeze, revealing the brown tail wrapped around his waist, announcing his identity as one of the Saiyan race. "It's all thanks to that foolish Kakarot."
The Z-Fighters and Devils arrived at the tree's location, mesmerized by the sheer size of the monstrous plant. Krillin and Gohan recognized the forest as the one they had restored during the camping trip. "And after all the trouble Shenron went to fix the forest. It's ruined again."
"Makima." Goku nodded at his wife.
The Control Devil didn't need to be told twice. She scanned the tree's body, trying to find the root connected directly to the core. However, something was clouding her sight, preventing her from locating the core. Makima's eyes turned upwards to the top of the tree, taking note of the several pulsating signatures glowing within. "That's it, then."
"What is it?" Tien asked.
"The fruit is close to completion. Wherever the core is, it is being blocked by the presence of the fruit." Makima explained.
"Then we just have to get rid of the fruit first. Should be simple enough." Yamcha said.
"It won't be." Goku countered. His senses were picking up several malevolent KI signatures near the top of the tree. "The ones responsible are up there." He took off towards the top, his friends following behind him.
Makima turned to her son. "Gohan, stay here."
"What?! But I-"
"The only reason I permitted you to come is because I knew you'd follow anyway." Makima shifted to her sister. "Keep him from getting involved."
"Sure." Fami shrugged. She reached out and pulled her nephew close, locking him in a tight hold.
"A-auntie…!" Gohan squirmed in her grasp. His cries went ignored as his mother flew into the air to join up with the others.
Makima landed next to her husband and glared at the group responsible for the newest threat to the Earth. "My…what a colorful group."
Amond smirked mockingly at the Z-Fighters, especially when his eyes landed on Goku. "I see, you're here to destroy the tree, right? Unfortunately, there is no way to destroy the tree."
Tien felt the sweat dripping down his face. "These guys…their power is incredible. Who are these guys?"
"You're the ones who planted the tree, right?" Goku asked.
"Anyone who gets in our way will lose their lives." Daiz said.
Yamcha glared angrily at the Crusher Corps. "You're the ones who caused that explosion earlier, yeah?! Give me back my car, you bastards!"
"Da!" Cacao responded.
"These guys have similar armor, but they don't look like Saiyans. Still, I've got a bad feeling about this…!" Krillin gulped.
Makima shifted her eyes. "Darling, you all hold them off. I'll continue searching for the core."
"Got it." Goku and the others got into stances, prepared to face off. There was a moment of silence throughout the field of roots as both groups waited for the moment to strike.
CRACK!
The Z-Fighters and Crusher Corps vanished in the blink of an eye. Splitting off to deal with their opponents. As the sounds of battle echoed in the air, Makima dashed further into the mess of roots to search for the tree's core.
While maneuvering into the tree's interior, the Control Devil came across a ship inside of the hollow opening. The sight clarified the thought of these invader's alien origins. Instead of focusing on that, however, Makima turned her attention upwards. This area saw the most growth of the fruit. "Destroying this should bring down the rest of the fruit. It won't stop the plant but should allow me to find the core far easier." She raised a hand, ready to tear the unripe fruit out with her abilities.
"So, one of you managed to sneak by, huh?"
Makima searched for who the voice belonged to. Her eyes turned to ship and trailed upwards to the figure standing on top. The Devil's eyes were wide open as she stared at his face. "You…how do you…?!"
This moment of hesitation cost her. His hand illuminated with purple KI, a huge blast barreled towards the Control Devil and detonated upon contact.
Goku gasped loudly as he watched Yamcha get buried into the ground by Cacao. "Yamcha!" He cried out to his friend. He blasted the cyborg away with a KI blast and hurried towards the ex-bandit. Until Daiz flashed next to him with his own ball of energy being thrown. Goku countered with another KI blast and sent the space pirate flying away.
Cacao used his boosters to close the gap between himself and the Saiyan, clashing against him in a fierce melee. Goku deflected a punch and striked with his own that knocked the cyborg into one of the roots. He pushed his hands outward and blew the cyborg away with a KI blast. There was no time to relax when Daiz returned to continue the battle.
With Yamcha down, all Goku could hope was that his friends were all faring better.
His friends weren't faring better at all. Tien was struggling with one of the twins, while the other was chasing Chiaotzu around, firing a relentless barrage at the tiny fighter. Krillin was holding his own but it was clear that he stood no chance the longer the fight progressed.
Gohan growled angrily as he watched his allies get taken down by the Crusher Corps. "I-I have to help them!"
"You were told to not interfere." Fami reminded him.
"I know but this isn't the time to sit on the sidelines! If Mr. Piccolo was here, he'd be disappointed that I wasn't doing anything to help!" He looked at his aunt with pleading eyes. "Please, Auntie, we have to help them!"
As much of a mental fortitude Fami liked to think she had, there was nothing she could do against her nephew's adorable eyes. Sighing loudly, knowing she'd get an earful from Makima later, the Famine Devil released him. "Fine. Go help Tien and Chiaotzu. I'll save Krillin."
"Thanks, Auntie!" Gohan smiled at her, then blasted off to the direction of the twins and crane students. Fami just moved through the air to assist Krillin, who was looking more and more tuckered out by the second.
Chiaotzu couldn't run any longer and was bombarded by the barrage, his back singed painfully by the beams. He fell out of the air until he was caught by Gohan, the young hybrid placed the small human down on one of the roots. The boy looked up, seething angrily at Rasin.
"Tch…! Who do you think you're glaring at, brat?! Do you wish to die painfully too?!" Rasin threatened. He shot a blast at the boy to kill him but Gohan effortlessly swatted it away without ever taking his eyes off his opponent. "What?!"
Gohan was like a blur as he rocketed towards the purple alien, burying his fist in the invader's gut, the armor doing little to minimize the impact. He brought his hands up and bashed the corps member into the ground below. Gohan placed his hands on his forehead and started building up a surge of power. "MASENKO-HAAAAA!" There was little Rasin could do as the beam engulfed him, erasing him completely.
Gohan released a breath after taking down one of the twins. He searched for the other one and gasped when he found the grape-fruil looking alien bashing Tien's face through several trees. "Mr. Tien! I'm coming!" He announced and dashed towards the battle.
Watching from above was Turles, his attention completely taken by the kid's abilities. "That power…don't tell me…" He smirked evilly. "He's a Saiyan. Of course, Kakarot has offspring." The Saiyan's eyes shifted over to Amond's battle. "Fine, I'll leave Kakarot a little gift before confronting him."
Amond smashed his larger fist into Krillin's gut, burying the monk into the cliffside. He grinned sadistically and continued beating the shit out of Krillin without remorse. Blood and spit poured out of the monk's mouth with each brutal impact. Amond would've continued if it wasn't for something furry latching onto his face. The creature's sharp claws dug into his face, drawing blood from the puncture. "GAH! WHAT THE HELL?!" Amond cried as he tried to tear the creature off of him.
"W-what?" Krillin coughed out as he watched the display.
"The Monkey Devil." He looked over to see Fami floating down next to him, the Famine Devil lazily watched the scene. "That's the thing clawing his face off at the moment." The monkey was a furry monstrosity of short stature but its furry body looked incredibly malnourished. Its razor sharp claws weren't showing any mercy to the corps member.
"T-thanks for the save." Krillin grunted.
"I only did it, because Gohan wanted me to. But I'll take the appreciation." Fami said.
Eventually, Amond managed to tear the stupid creature off of his face. He gripped it by its throat and tossed it away. "DIE!" He declared and fired off a red KI blast that blew the Devil to bits. "Ha! How did you like that, you stupid little-huh?" Amond stopped when he noticed that his blood was levitating from his face. Next thing he knew, his body started to grow weaker by the second. "W-what's happening?!"
Fami appeared before him, her earrings were absorbing all of the blood coming from his body. "You know… I'm not one to get angry often but I usually hate it when my toys get hurt. So, I'll make your corpse a part of my collection."
"W-why, you!" Pulling back his hand, he attempted to crush the woman with a punch. But Fami easily stepped over it and smashed her knee against his nose. With more blood spurting from the wound, the weaker Amond started to feel. "H-how a-are you doing this?!"
"I'm the Famine Devil. I'm simply absorbing all of your nutrients through your blood until you're nothing but a shriveled corpse." She answered with a short yawn. "Don't try to fight it, because you'll be dead in the next second." Amond attempted to fight her anyway but Fami didn't even have to move much to avoid his attacks.
With each passing second, the bulky warrior became a skinny husk of bones. He could barely breathe as every nutrient in his body had been stolen by the lazy woman. Fami, seeing that her opponent had nothing left, approached his body. She opened her palm then closed it, turning his body to the size of a raisin. "There." She held the dead 'raisin' in her hand.
Krillin slowly floated over to her. "Y-you really made that look a little too easy."
"Yes, I-" Fami stopped suddenly, confusing Krillin. Before she could get a word out, the monk was slapped across the side, blasting him into the barren ground. Krillin lay unconscious in a small crater, heavily wounded.
"Krillin…!" Fami gasped. Her eyes trailed back to the one responsible, disbelief present on her features. "How are you…?"
"Die." Was all he said before she was encased in a ball of purple KI that was thrusted into the Earth with a loud explosion following.
"HYAAAAAAAH!" Gohan screamed, releasing a huge burst of KI into Lakasei. The last twin cried out painfully as the energy burned his body, erasing every last trace of him from this world. Gohan touched back down on the ground with some heavy breathing at the effort he had exerted. "There! I did it!" He cheered.
Tien, who was nursing his own wounds, nodded at the kid. "Thanks, Gohan…"
"No worries, Mr. Tien, it was the least I could do!" Gohan replied brightly.
"Can't say I'm not a bit ashamed that there wasn't anything I could do on my own. But considering who your parents are and who trained you, I shouldn't be surprised by how strong you are anymore." Tien said. Gohan blushed from the praise given to him by the older martial artist. "Is Chiaotzu okay?"
"Yeah! I saved him earlier before helping you!" Gohan answered.
"Good, then let's hurry to assist the others before-" Suddenly Tien coughed out blood, his body bent backwards from the force applied. Gohan was knocked over by the crane student's body skidding across the barren dirt.
"Mr. Tien!" Gohan cried.
"Hey, kid." Turning around, Gohan found him face-to-face with his father(?).
Towering over him is a man who bears a terrifyingly similar face to his father. His skin tone is darker than Goku's and he still possesses a Saiyan tail. Their slight difference in hairstyle is that Turles is given at least two "devil horns". He wears gray and black battle armor and has a red scouter on the left side of his face. This individual is Turles, the leader of the Crusher Corps, and the one truly behind the sprouting of the Tree of Might.
"Dad…" Gohan mutters.
"So, you truly are Kakarot's son." Turles grins.
His words vanquished any confusion in Gohan's mind. "You're not my Dad!" He moved in to punch Turles but the Saiyan easily stopped his attack. The evil Saiyan grabbed the collar of his purple GI and brought the kid in close.
"There shouldn't be any surprise that Kakarot and I look alike. We low-class Saiyans tend to share similar appearances." He said as his scouter read the boy's energy level. "Battle power 10,000. I should've figured, inheriting Saiyan blood like you do."
"W-who are you…?!"
"A Saiyan." Turles unfurled his tail to prove his point. "My name is Turles. Listen, boy, how about you come with me? This planet is done for and your pathetic Father will die with it. We'll roam space and do whatever we wish to do! Destroying planets, slaughtering the weak, and eating as much as we wish! Doesn't that get your Saiyan blood pumping?!"
Gohan struggled in the Saiyan's grasp, glaring heatedly into the man's eyes. "Y-you may look like my Father, but you couldn't be far from different! Who would ever want to join the likes of you?!" Gohan tried to punch him again, but Turles caught the fist.
"Hey, now, don't be rash. We're one of the few remaining Saiyan left." He increased his grip. "Let's get along, now."
"WAAAHHH!" Gohan screams painfully.
"This beautiful blue planet is already doomed to become a rust-colored, dried-up world. You're better off coming with me unless you wish to die like this?" Turles increased his grip with each word, dangerously close to snapping the boy's arm like a twig.
BEEP!
"Hm?!" Turles quickly released Gohan as two new battle powers appeared on his scouters. The malicious Saiyan avoided getting his head skewered by a silver blade, putting distance between himself and the new arrivals.
Gohan felt two strong arms holding him tightly. He opened his eyes and was greeted by the familiar green face he's come to admire. "M-Mr. Piccolo!"
"What am I? Chop liver?" The hybrid's head snapped to the other voice; his face brightened at the second familiar arrival.
"Auntie War!" Gohan happily exclaimed.
The War Devil, decked out in military grade clothing that hugged her figure perfectly, gave a slight acknowledgement to her nephew. She looked at Piccolo and frowned. "And what exactly do you think you're doing here? I can handle this on my own."
"Do I look like I take orders from you?" Piccolo released his student, allowing the boy to float on his own. "This fight is mine."
Turles read over the battle powers. "Battle powers over 180,000. Though, I suspect there's more to the two of you than that, not that I'm expecting much."
War glared at the Saiyan. "Big talk for a stupid primate. Stepping foot on the planet was a mistake, especially when you're walking around with a face similar to that dumbass brother-in-law of mine!"
"For hurting Gohan, I'll be sure to kill you quickly." Piccolo declared, tossing off his weighted clothing.
"Heh. Try it." Turles motioned for them to come.
Dashing in first was War, her blade reaching for the Saiyan's heart. Turles avoided the attack and struck her arms with his knees, forcing her to drop the weapon. He reached for her face, but she ducked under to strike his chest. Turles was pushed back a bit and Piccolo flashed behind him to strike him down. "Won't work." He vanished seconds before Piccolo's attack could land, confusing the two warriors. Suddenly, a burst of KI slammed into War's back, knocking her through the air.
Piccolo rushed forward, throwing out strikes that Turles blocked with relative ease. He avoided a counter punch but that left him open for the Saiyan's knee to crush his sternum. Turles grabbed Piccolo by his head, then dropped at fast speeds to slam the Namekian into the dirt.
Suddenly, a torrent of bullets rained down on him, forcing him to move out of the way. He looked up to see War continuously firing at him with a gatling gun. She reached into her vest and whipped out several grenades, each with one line through the pins. War whipped them at Turles, pulling the pins simultaneously. The Saiyan created a guard, protecting himself from the explosive whip that slammed into him. She smirked at her attack until Turles came blitzing out of the smoke with a devastating lariat that had her seeing stars.
He smashed her down into a root with a hard-hitting hammer strike. Blood exploded from her mouth as she struggled to recover from the attack.
Piccolo did recover and fired off a KI blast at Turles. The Saiyan dodged his attempt and vanished from his sight. The Namekian twisted around to block the punch, shivering from the vibrations pulsating through his body. Turles continued his assault, refusing to give the Namekian even an inch in this fight. He laughed sadistically and plunged his fist into the green man's chest. With his opponent staggered, Turles grabbed his head and brought Piccolo's face into his knee. Blood and spittle exploded in response, and Piccolo stumbled backwards. Turles grabbed Piccolo by his leg, bringing the Namekian into the air, then slammed him into War like a sledgehammer. The two cried out painfully from the impact.
"Mr. Piccolo! Auntie!" Gohan propelled himself forward to assist them.
"G-Gohan, don't!" Piccolo tried to warn him, but his student didn't listen. The boy tried to strike Turles but ended up getting backhanded away. The Saiyan twisted around and smashed the child's ribs with his elbow hard enough to send him flying away.
"Wait your turn, kid. I'll get to you in a second."
"Bastard…!" War tore off the tree bark, utilizing its structure to create a mini pulse cannon. She didn't even get the chance to fire it since Turles reached out and crushed her hand into paste.
"Alright, I'm done having my fun. You both can die." Turles pointed his hand down at the two, who were frozen in shock. His energy surrounded the two like a bubble before erupting upwards like a volcano. War and Piccolo screamed out as the malicious power blew them away into the desolate forest.
With his pathetic opposition dealt with, the Saiyan turned back to the struggling child. He dropped down next to him and stomped down on his back. "As a Saiyan, you should know to live like one. Otherwise, that tail of yours will weep." To prove his point, he increased his pressure on Gohan's back, causing the boy's tail to sprout. "Let me show you the correct way to use it. The way that'll make you keenly aware that you're a Saiyan." Turles opened his palm, creating a white ball of energy.
"Do you know what this is? It's the moon." Turles tossed it into the sky. "Burst and blend together!"
FLASH!
FLASH!
"What?!" Goku looked away from his opponents to see the artificial moon shining in the sky. His eyes found Turles, who weirdly looked like him, holding his son up to the moon. It didn't take long for Goku to figure out what the evil Saiyan had planned. "NO! GOHAN, DON'T LOOK!"
"Don't take your eyes off of us!" Diaz and Cacao intercepted him, preventing the Earthly Saiyan from reaching his son.
Turles forced the boy's eyes open with malicious giddiness. He could feel the boy's power explode tremendously as the transformation overtook him. Gohan's body grew far too big for his clothes, brown fur with crimson tints along the tips spread all over his expanding body. His face took a more ape-like appearance with each passing second. Turles jumped away from Gohan to avoid getting trampled by the rampaging ape. He shot an energy blast at the fake moon to avoid transforming himself.
"Can't risk becoming an ape myself but the effect of the power ball should last a bit longer. Long enough for that kid to go on a rampage." Turles grinned. He scanned over the Great Ape, noticing the coloring of his fur. "Strange, perhaps the other half of his bloodline is affecting his Saiyan DNA. Regardless, this should be fun. Show me your Saiyan blood, kid."
Gohan's red spiral eyes regarded everything in front of him as an enemy. The giant ape roared monstrously into the darkened sky. "RAAAAAAAAHHHH!"
"Leave Gohan alone!" Goku knocked his opponents back and tried to reach his son once more. The two last remaining corps lackeys fired upon the Saiyan's back. Goku quickly created a barrier to protect himself from their attack. "Enough!" He flashed between the two. "You guys are in my way!" He spread out his arms, unleashing a powerful burst of energy that sent Diaz flying into the distance, but it completely eradicated Cacao to atoms.
Goku gave his attention back to his son, who was towering over him, snarling like a raging beast. "Gohan…!" He jumped to avoid getting crushed by his son's fist. "Gohan, get a hold of yourself!"
"RAAAH!" Gohan reached for his father to squish him like a bug.
"Kaioken!" Red energy swirled around Goku, giving him a boost to further the distance between them. His raging child followed after him, refusing to lose his prey. The Earthly Saiyan, refusing to attack his own son, continued to play keep away. When his son tripped over his own feet, fatherly concern washed over him. "Gohan!"
"RAAGH!" It was just a ruse, and Goku found himself getting smashed into a root. He cried out in pain and tumbled onto the floor. Gohan jumped over to his father, planning to crush him to death under his weight.
"Ha ha ha! The father killed by the son. Thus is the way of us Saiyans. Kakarot, after you're dead, I'll be sure to look after your son." Turles laughed.
SHACKLE!
"What?!" Turles exclaimed.
Suddenly, several silver chains wrapped around Gohan's body and yanked him back to prevent him from landing on Goku. The giant ape fell onto his back, screeching loudly into the sky as he fought against the chains binding him.
"DARLING!"
Goku climbed back to his feet and gasped. "M-Makima?!" His wife landed on top of their struggling child. The braid she usually kept her hair in had been completely undone, allowing the long crimson colors to trail down her back. Her clothing had also been burned and torn, indicating she had been attacked earlier. "You-!"
"Don't worry about me, darling! I'll handle Gohan, you fight the imposter!" Makima motioned at Turles, who was glaring down at her.
"I see, so you're the boy's Mother. To be the lover of a Saiyan you'd have to be pretty strong. Maybe I should make you my woman as well after I kill Kakarot and destroy this planet." Turles smirked.
Makima's eyes were as icy as a frozen tundra. "There is only one man in this world worthy of my love, and you don't deserve the right to have his face."
"Fine, then. Get killed by your son. Allow him to show you the true might of the Saiyan race!" Turles said.
As if responding to the evil Saiyan, Gohan started pulling against the chains. With a mighty roar, he tore himself free from his mother's abilities. Makima cursed and jumped into the air with her son chasing after her. His fist struck her, smashing the woman down into a cave beneath the tree, where he also ended up falling into as well.
"Makima! Gohan!" Goku yelled.
"Don't waste time thinking about them, Kakarot." Turles lowered himself to stand face-to-face with his look alike. "Spend your last remaining moments fighting for your life."
"Tch…! Why, you…!" Goku growled.
"Feel proud, Kakarot. Your son is embracing his true powers as one of the Saiyan race." Turles said.
"You don't understand anything! We may have Saiyan blood, but Gohan and I were raised on Earth! As far as I'm concerned, we're humans!" Goku declared proudly.
Turles face shifted into a scowl. "Then feel free to die as one!" He dashed forward, faster than Goku had expected. He smashed his head against the good Saiyan, knocking him far through the air. Turles gave chase to continue their battle.
Makima stabilized herself above the stream below her, but her monstrous child was unable to stop himself from falling into the water. She watched as he exploded out of the stream, banging on his chest with vicious fury. "Gohan!"
He turned to her and opened his mouth. A burst of hot crimson energy bubbled between his jaws, causing her eyes to widen. Makima created a barrier to defend herself as the beam crashed against her shield. Makima dashed out of the energy wave to close the distance between him, she fired off more chains to wrap around her son. "I have to calm him down! But he keeps fighting back against me! If I go too far with it, I could end up breaking his mind!" Her instincts as the Control Devil and her instincts as a mother were clashing against one another. It would be incredibly easy to snuff his mind, but she didn't want to view her son, regardless of his monstrous state, as anything less.
Gohan took advantage of her brief moment of distraction to grab her between his palms, she gasped and cried out as he began crushing her. "G-Gohan…it's me…Mommy! Can't you recognize me?!"
It was no use; his mind was too jumbled of a mess for him to recognize her. She needed something to distract him, something that could quell his mind for a moment.
"KIIII!"
"What?!" Makima's head snapped towards the familiar cry. She could see the young dragon that her son befriended recently descend into the cave. He must've followed their scent here, wishing to help them with this dire matter. From the looks of things, the dragon seemed to recognize Gohan even in his Great Ape state.
"KIII! KIII! KIII!" The dragon called out to Gohan desperately. Surprisingly, the ape's aggression started to lessen with each passing second. Makima couldn't believe that this dragon managed to calm down her son.
The dragon could no longer keep himself in the air, his wings exhausted from flying all the way here. As he fell to the ground, Gohan dropped his mother to catch the dragon. The two started to play with each other as they've done since meeting one another. Makima watched the cute display with a soft smile.
Contrary to Turles', and her own beliefs for a time, Gohan's blood did not define him as a person. Yes, he's a Saiyan and a Devil, but he's far more than his parts. Even in his out-of-control state, his kind heart continued to exist within. It made her proud to see him surpass whatever expectations others have set for him.
Makima used this chance to touch her son's head. His mind was far clearer than it was before which made it easy for her to calm him down. "Gohan, it's time for bed."
Before the ape was even aware, his mind slowly faded away with sudden exhaustion. He swayed for a moment before falling onto his stomach, loud snores exiting his snout. The dragon curiously stared at his sleeping friend, slightly concerned.
Makima wasted no time in cutting off his tail. She didn't want to hurt him beforehand which is why she wanted to put him to sleep first before cutting off the tail. She watched her son return back to normal, his small naked form ignorant to everything around him. Makima took off the tattered remains of her jacket and wrapped them around Gohan's small body.
As she held him in her arms, Makima placed a small kiss on his forehead. "My precious little light. Never let anyone tell you who you can and can't be. Sleep well, we adults will handle it from here." Makima turned to the small dragon. "Keep watch over him, okay?" She handed her sleeping child to the small dragon, who happily cried in agreement.
"You're a good dragon." She gently scratched his chin, earning a pleased noise from him.
BLAST!
Makima reacted quickly, deflecting the red beam that was aimed right for her son and the dragon. She looked up to see Daiz grinning down at her. The surviving corps member was pretty injured but still looked like he was ready to fight. "I may be the last one left, but don't go thinking you've won! Lord Turles' Crusher Corps will fight until the very last breath!"
Makima narrowed her eyes, their yellow hue glowed in the darkness. "Then it'll be the shortest one you'll ever take."
"Kakarot, you're a disgrace to the Saiyan race!" Turles declared as he was locked in a fierce struggle with Goku.
"I'm not Kakarot, I'm Son Goku! Now get off my planet!" Goku pulled back his head, smashing it against Turles' forehead. The pirate was stunned for a moment, allowing Goku to kick him away into one of the roots. Turles flipped over the root to avoid Goku's charge, then tackled the pure-hearted hero, crushing him against another root. Turles landed strong punches into Goku's body, then uppercuts him into the air.
Goku flipped around and dashed backwards to give himself some distance. However, Turles appeared behind him and smashed his joint hands into his back, blasting him towards the Tree of Might. Pulling back his hands, Turles pushed and fired off several blasts that exploded against Goku's body. He smirked at the smoke until a red light blew the smoke away, rippling the air around them.
"Kaioken!" Goku roared, powering up even further, his red aura looked like the raging flames of the sun.
"W-what?! His battle power is increasing tremendously!" Turles exclaimed.
Goku dashed forward, far faster than Turles was expecting. Goku's elbow crashed against the Saiyan's face, then a strong punch buried itself into his gut. The Earthly Saiyan grabbed Turles by his armor and performed a shoulder throw that sent him flying far. Goku cupped his hands, charging up his signature attack. "Ka! Me! Ha! Me! HAAAAA!" The beam rocketed at Turles, engulfing him entirely, and exploding against the tree's body.
As the Kaioken's brief activation vanished, Goku released a few breaths. He knew that wouldn't have been enough to stop his opponent. He rushed towards the tree to continue the battle, but when he got there his enemy was nowhere to be seen. "Where did he go?!"
Suddenly, Turles appeared behind him with a kick that bent Goku's ribs slightly. He cried out as he spiraled through the air before regaining a sense of balance. The evil Saiyan looked a bit scuffed from the earlier attack but seemed fine overall. "Kakarot, if you kneel before me right now, I'll forgive this traitorous transgression. You, your wife, and your son will be free to join me."
"I already told you, I'm Son Goku!"
"Do you really think you can beat me? The power difference between us is like heaven and Earth."
"I'll never know until I try!" Goku declared.
Turles smirked and reached behind him. "As we speak, the Tree of Might is continuously draining life away from this world. The forests, the oceans, the cities, and the lifeforms will all become nothing but dry husks. Their life turns into fuel for the fruit, the fruit I've continuously eaten from each time the tree was planted on other worlds." Turles brought out a spiky red fruit and lifted it towards his mouth. "Bare witness to true strength."
CRUNCH!
Turles' body expended for a brief moment from the effects of the fruit, then swiftly returned to its natural state. However, the true difference that Goku felt, was the Saiyan's power having jumped tremendous levels. The second interval between the fruit being crushed and Turles' brutal punch was far too fast for Goku to comprehend. It was as if his opponent had teleported in front of him. Goku went spiraling into the tree, then Turles' knee collided with his sternum, knocking the air from his lungs.
Turles knocked Goku down towards the ground and pointed his hand at him, releasing a torrent of KI blasts that rained down like bullets. There was nothing Goku could do to defend himself from the barrage. While the Earthly Saiyan recovered from the onslaught, Turles mocked his opponent. "You'll never stand a chance against me now with that kind of power! I'll dig a grave for you right in the middle of this world as it turns into a desert! It's the least I can do for you since we're both Saiyans!"
Goku looked up at his opponent's grinning face, glaring heatedly with determination. "I-I haven't used everything I've got yet!"
"Then show it to me! Entertain me more, Kakarot!" Turles shouted.
"Fine! Kaioken… TIMES 10!" Goku roared, the bright red aura burned hotter than before. He burst forward with a pulled back fist. But Turles vanished out of the way, forcing Goku to change directions to reach him. The evil Saiyan continued avoiding Goku's bull-like charge, then vanished out of his sight once again. Goku was confused until a sucker-punch rattled his brain, blowing him back towards the tree. Turles flip kicked the Saiyan down onto a root, chased down past Goku to smash his knee into his gut once again. He smashed him down into the planet-sucking root, then clapped his hands together. Sparks of orange and yellow danced around his hands as he pulled them apart, a sizzling ring of energy formed between his palms. "Do you surrender, Kakarot?"
"Grk…guh…!" Goku struggled to move. "I said…my name…is Son Goku!"
"Hmph. Fine. DIE!" Turles raised the ring above his head, then threw it down at Goku. "KILL DRIVER!"
BOOM!
"WUAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
Makima kicked Diaz away, then unloaded a torrent of invisible bullets that tore through his battle armor and embedded themselves into his skin. She dashed forward and broke his nose with a swift punch. He tried to grab her, but she ducked back and smashed her knee into his jaw. Her legs reached out, wrapping around his throat before he could fly too far. She flipped around and threw him hard into the ground below.
The dragon cried out, watching from a safe distance with Gohan in his arms. The sole corps member could barely move as Makima lowered herself down to his level, her finger gun pointed at his head. "Any last words?"
Diaz smirked. "Y-yeah…! The Earth will fall…to the Tree of…Might…"
Makima scoffed. "Pitiful."
BANG!
His head exploded like a watermelon, brains, blood, and bones scattered across the ground, while blood slowly oozed out of his severed neck. Makima eradicated the rest of his body, not wishing to look at the disgraceful corpse any further. With the last member of this invasion force dealt with, Makima could focus on her primary objective before.
BOOM!
"WUAAAAAAAAA!"
Her head snapped to the direction of the explosion. She could feel her husband's energy tanking in response to it. "Darling?!" She took off in a burst of speed towards the battle between look-alikes. The dragon followed after her to see what was going on, Gohan still sleeping soundly in his arms.
Turles spat on Goku's battered body, no longer interested in the traitorous Saiyan. "This is the end, Kakarot. With the power of the Tree of Might, I shall bring this universe to its knees." He ascended back towards the top to collect more of the fruit. However, a flash of red was caught in the corner of his eyes, which is the only thing that saved him from Makima's lethal strike for his throat. He grabbed her wrist, brought the woman close with his other arm, their faces inches apart from each other. "You really are a beautiful woman. Such striking eyes, it'd be a shame to kill you."
"Get off!" Makima manipulated the gravity of her body, tearing herself free of Turles' hold to gain some distance.
"Hmph. Rude." Turles crossed his arms. "You'd do far better by my side than you would be with Kakarot. We could rule the galaxy alongside one another, everything under our complete control."
Makima scoffed. "If you were talking to the old me, then I probably would've accepted. However, to assume yourself greater than my darling is a sinful act that I cannot ignore. There's also the terror you've inflicted upon my son that I'll never forgive." She swore resolutely.
"You'd continue to fight in the name of a dead man?"
"Who said my darling was dead?"
"What?!" Turles turned around to see Goku shuffling around on the ground, clearly still breathing. "Tch! I'll just have to hit you harder this time-Guh!" He was knocked away by Makima, who continued to pursue the evil look-alike.
She spun with a kick for his neck, but the Saiyan easily dodged her attack. He grabbed her leg and swung the woman into a root harshly, drawing blood from her mouth. Then he slugged her across the jaw to send her flying. Makima pushed against the roots, backflipping away from her pursuer. Several chains sprouted from her body to impale Turles.
"Useless!" He blasted them away, then fired a strong KI blast that exploded against her chest. She tried to push him back with her invisible force but the powered-up Saiyan flexed his aura to ram straight through it. He grabbed her by the throat, squeezing the air from her lungs. "How did it feel having to kill your own son?" He chuckled darkly.
She allowed herself to smirk. "Kill? My Gohan is simply taking a little nap. You, however, will be taking one permanently." Her finger gun appeared next to his head, blowing him away, and freeing her from his grasp. Unfortunately, her attack didn't do much to him at all.
"DIE!" Turles unleashed a KI blast that ran through her like a freight train, blowing the Control Devil down towards the base of the tree with a loud explosion. He stared at the smoke, knowing full well she survived. "A strong woman indeed."
Makima, down at the base of the tree, glared at the Saiyan. The bastard had been strengthened by the fruit of the tree, making him too strong for them to beat in a straight fight. Worse was that they didn't have much time left before the planet dried up completely. She needed to come up with something now or they'll-huh? Makima felt around the base of the tree, feeling a strange sensation coming from it. It didn't take her too long to realize the sensation invading her senses. "This is it! The part of the tree that connects to its core! All I need to do is destroy the core and the tree will die! But doing so would take too much time, time that this disgraceful look alike won't give! I need…wait, that's it!" Makima raised her head up to the sky. "I hate that I have to rely on you, but you're still watching, right King Kai?"
"Obviously! Things aren't looking good for you guys, if you lose here then the Tree of Might will continue being used on more and more planets! I hope you have a plan, Control!"
"I do. I just need you to connect me to everyone else." Makima said.
"Done."
"Darling! Darling!"
"M-Makima…" Goku groaned as he flipped onto his back. "H-how are you…"
"That's not important! Right now, you need to start charging the Spirit Bomb! We need to hit him and this tree with one big attack, one that'll solve this problem!"
"B-but…"
"Do you trust me, darling?"
That one question cleared any doubt in Goku's head. No matter what, he knew that trusting Makima's judgment in a situation like this was the right call. He climbed to his feet slowly. "Yeah, I always trust you, Makima."
"Good. Don't worry about Turles, we'll all hold him off."
"We?" He was confused until he felt several other energy signatures converging together. Goku smirked as he raised his hands. "Heh…! I knew you guys wouldn't stay down for long."
"The rest of you, if you have any ounce of will to live in your bodies, then get up right now and fight!"
"W-who the hell does she think she's talking to?!" War spat as she flew through the air. Her battered body was still healing but she didn't have the luxury of waiting around.
"She's talking to us, obviously." Fami was in a similar state as her little sister. However, her eyes looked a bit more serious than they usually did.
"Shut up!" War growled.
"I-I can't offer much, but I'll do my best!" Krillin declared.
"Come on, Chiaotzu!" Tien yelled.
"R-right, Tien!" Chiaotzu nodded his head.
"Just focus…on the Spirit Bomb, Goku, we got this!" Yamcha shouted.
"You better not screw this up, Goku!" Piccolo growled out.
BEEP!
Turles listened to his scouter, turning his head to see the defeated Z-Fighters and Devils return for another round. "Still alive, huh? Persistent little gnats."
Makima floated upwards, floating in front of the group. "This ends now…!" The Earth's defenders and Turles engaged in one last struggle for the fate of the planet.
Goku focused on the Spirit Bomb. "T-the land… The seas… the skies… and everyone drawing breath on this world at this time… share your energy with me…! For your sake…for the Earth's sake…give me your energy!"
"HYAAA!" Makima and Piccolo unloaded a barrage of strikes at Turles, who was dodging each one with ease. He backhanded the Namekian away, then swatted Makima across the face. Tien and Krillin charged in but were kicked away quickly.
"Dodon Ray!" Chiaotzu fired the finger beam at Turles, who deflected it with ease.
"Wolf Fang Fist!" Yamcha's barrage of speedy precise strikes were blocked. The Saiyan countered his rush with a jab to his nose, breaking it. As the ex-bandit went flying past her, Fami absorbed the nutrients in the air around her to palm strike the Saiyan's chest. Her attack barely moved him, and then she found herself getting dragged along the tree by a vicious kick against her chest.
A chain whip wrapped around his arm; War used everything she had to flip the Saiyan over. As he went flying up the tree, she summoned an energy cannon and fired it at him. Turles connected his hands and bashed the plasma blast away. He dashed forward and punched forward, shattering her cannon with ease. War attempted to slice his arm off with a short sword, but he snapped her arm like a twig before it could reach. The War Devil was blasted away the next second.
"Tri-Beam!"
"Kamehameha!"
Turles jumped over both attacks, the smoke from the explosion blinded him from their sight. Tien gasped until the Saiyan flashed in front of him, slugging him across his face. He then vanished and appeared above Krillin and stomped down on the monk hard enough to send him crashing into the ground.
Chiaotzu was chopped across his back, knocking him away from the tree. War tried her luck again but was grabbed by her non-broken arm and used as a battering ram to smash against Fami and Yamcha.
Piccolo received brutal strikes along his torso, then was grabbed by his head. Turles grinned and unloaded a barrage of KI blasts into Piccolo's body, enjoying the screams of pain filling his ears. He only stopped when a chain wrapped around his wrist and he already knew the one responsible. He dropped Piccolo and gave his full attention to the last woman standing. "And once again, you're the last one left." Turles said.
"No…not the last…" Makima's words confused him. It was only when his scouter picked up another power level that he realized the meaning of her words. His head snapped to the direction of Goku, who was still preparing the Spirit Bomb.
"Kakarot?! Whatever you're planning won't work!" Turles charged for him, but the hero's wife got in his way. "You're in the way!"
"That's the idea!" Makima and Turles engaged in a clash, one that she wasn't necessarily winning, but that wasn't an issue. She just needed to lead him towards the core of the tree. Makima pushed back, breaking off, and rushing towards the tree. As predicted, Turles gave chase to continue their battle. "Darling, are you done yet?!"
"Yeah! The Spirit Bomb is complete!"
Makima couldn't respond back since Turles managed to finally catch her, his hands grabbing her own. He spun the woman around and tossed her into the tree and smashed his foot against her to keep her pinned. Turles smiled at his 'clear' victory. "After I've finished killing you, I'll grab that brat of yours and leave this dustball behind. I'll need a student since you all killed my Crusher Corps."
Makima's eyes were covered by her bangs, but her smirk was visible to the pirate's eyes. He was confused about her expression. "What? Finally reconsidered my proposal from before?"
"No. I simply needed you locked in place." Makima said.
"What?!"
"TURLES!" Goku's roar made him flinch. "YOU'RE DEFINITELY NOT GETTING AWAY WITH THIS!" Down below the two, Goku opened his palm to reveal the bright blue ball of Genki. "TAKE THIS!" He threw it at his target with all of his might.
Turles' eyes widened at the Spirit Bomb as he raced towards him. His face morphed into a scowl and he prepared to counter the final attack. "DIE, KAKAROT!"
SNAP!
Suddenly, the weight of his body was no longer what it normally was. Turles could barely move and found himself pressed into the body of the tree. The evil Saiyan let out a gasp as the last thing he would ever see would be the devilish smirk of Makima, which would haunt him all the way down to Hell. The Spirit Bomb connected with him, burning away at his evil soul without an ounce of mercy. The effect of the Spirit Bomb extended to the tree, digging away until it reached the very core itself.
Makima was thrown out of the air as the shockwaves from the explosion were too much for her to fight against.
Turles felt his entire body being torn apart, his screams of anguish were being drowned out by the sound of the tree crying out in pain. The Tree of Might glowed a bright white light before erupting into an explosion visible even from space.
As everything started to settle down, the entire Earth was silent. People, animals, Devils, and nature were waiting to see what would happen next. Suddenly, small white puffs of energy started descending all over the Earth. These puffs were the energy the Tree of Might had absorbed, purified back thanks to the positive energy of the Spirit Bomb. All of the damage caused by Turles' maniacal scheme was undone, returning the planet back to normal.
Resting peacefully on his wife's lap was Son Goku, a pleased smile on his face. Makima gently brushed through his wild locks with a fond smile on her lips. She looked up at the beautiful blue sky with a sense of peace. "We won, darling."
"Yup…thanks to everyone on Earth." Goku smiled.
"MOM! DAD!"
The two looked over to see Gohan riding on the dragon's back, the kid waving at them happily. Laughs and hugs were shared between the Son Family to celebrate their victory. The rest of their allies were licking their wounds and enjoying the planet's restoration as well.
The following day, the entire group decided to have another camping trip. The only ones missing were War and Piccolo, who would rather do their own things. Makima took a sip of her tea while the others worked to get the camp set up.
Bulma looked over at Goku, who was bringing back some fish with Tien and Chiaotzu. "It really is a good thing you bumped your head as a kid, Goku."
"Otherwise you would've ended up like that Turles fellow." Roshi added.
"And we wouldn't be together, darling." Makima added with a small blush.
Goku chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. "Yeah, agreed! I still have the scar to prove it!"
Oolong looked over at the dragon. "I heard you played a role too, dragon."
Gohan shook his head. "His name isn't 'dragon', Oolong."
"It isn't?"
"So, you finally decided on a name?" Krillin asked.
Gohan nodded. "Yup! From now on, your name is Icarus!" He declared, softly rubbing the dragon's head.
"KIIII!" Icarus cried happily.
"Hehe! I think he likes it!" Yamcha said.
"Good name, Gohan!" Puar said.
Makima shook her head as she watched Icarus attempt to eat Oolong, confusing him for food. Maybe she'll pretend to cook him up later as a prank. It'll be funny and evil, so it was a win-win for her. The Control Devil looked back at her husband, who met her eyes with his own. The two shared a warm smile with each other.
Goku chuckled. "Yup. Everything's perfect."
Movie End
NOTE: Long one, but I hope you all enjoyed! In the movie, the spirit bomb doesn't kill Turles immediately. It gets stopped the first time, then Goku uses it a second time and wins. Here, the first time was more than enough thanks to Makima.
Fami is very strong, she's just incredibly lazy, so she doesn't apply herself ever. She got to do more here than in the last one. War also appeared but didn't get to do much. Eventually, she will.
Turles trying to manipulate the Son Family and failed spectacularly.
