"Morning," Danny said, walking into the living room wearing the hoodie that Peter gave him, and joining the others who were already awake.
He made himself a bowl of cereal at super speed and noticed the many boxes around the room.
"What's with all the boxes?'' he asked.
"Don't know, they were already here when we woke up," Wanda replied.
Danny turned his head to the door, picking up on a half dozen footsteps. The door opened, and Monica walked in, followed by Peter and four Sword agents.
"Good, you guys are already awake," Monica said
"Peter?" Shuri said in confusion "I thought you were spending the weekend with May,"
"I was, till Monica came to pick me up," Peter replied
"Did you guys pack your bags?" She asked.
"Bags? Why do we need bags?" Wanda asked.
"I'll explain on the way," Monica replied,"
"On the way to where?" Danny asked
"Follow me and you'll see," Monica replied.
"Get the rooms cleared by 10," Ordered Monica to one of the Sword agents before leaving.
Monica and the Newyorkers left the compound and entered an armoured vehicle.
"So where are we going exactly?" Danny asked.
"Your new home," Monica replied
"New home?!" Replied the Newyorkers in unison
"Yeah, since the Newyorkers are official now, we're relocating you to a new house," Monica explained.
"Wait, we've only been a team for a few weeks, how'd you build a house?" Shuri asked.
"We didn't, it was part of the assets Stark left to you guys. It was one of his houses," Monica replied, just as the car drove by the previous Avenger's tower
"Hey who ended up buying Avengers tower anyways?" Wanda asked, observing the skyscraper.
"I don't know, but apparently the new owner is super secretive or something," Peter replied.
The vehicle turned into a privately owned forest near the east river, drove straight for about 2 miles, and ended up in a large open field with a small cottage in the middle. The car stopped and they all exited the vehicle
"This is our new house?" Shuri asked
"Sorry, cloaking is still on," Monica said, as she pressed a few keys on her tablet.
A light blue glitch appeared around the field and dissipated, revealing the real house. A large modern mansion with many surrounding structures, namely a large swimming pool, a camping bungalow and others.
"See you inside, Danny smirked," and ran into the building at super speed.
The others entered the house just as Danny finished his tour and screeched into the entrance.
"This place is awesome, it has like 20 rooms," Danny exclaimed.
"15 actually, and you guys will get to see all of them after I show you that," Said Monica, pointing to a door at the end of the hall underneath the curved stairs.
"What's so special about a door?" Peter asked Monica, now in front of the door
Monica slid the face panel of a light switch beside the door to the left, revealing a fingerprint sensor. She scanned her thumb and the door clicked open.
"Something tells me that this is not an ordinary room," Danny said as they entered.
Monica lifted a panel on the right of the doors revealing 4 buttons. Up, down, left and right, and she pressed the down button. An elevator ding filled the room, and the floor dropped a few hundred feet down an elevator shaft.
They slowed to a cushioned stop, and the double elevator doors opened in front of them, revealing a massive open-spaced room, with a door on the opposite and right sides, and a large gap in the left wall, revealing what looked like a vehicle runway and a light up tunnel ahead of it. In the centre of the room there was a ring of 3-step staircases leading down to a large circular table, and two crescent-shaped couches around it. The rest of the room was a large open space for other furniture or decorations.
The door opposite led to the lab which was quite large, about the same size as a squash court. It was already pre-installed with a variety of equipment, ranging from fabricators, 3d printers, and laser cutters. The door on the right led to the armoury which was about the same size as the lab. On the right wall were 6 changing areas, and opposite those were 6 clear cylindrical capsules, three of them containing Peter, Wanda and Danny's suits. In the centre of the room stood a rectangular glass table, and on the wall opposite the door was a cut-out split into six sections meant for weapons and accessories, 4 of which had already been allocated to the Newyorkers
"What is this place?" Danny asked, astonished.
"This is your base of operations," Monica replied.
"The door on the opposite wall leads to your lab, the door on the right leads to your armoury and this area on the left is your vehicle loading zone," She added
"We don't have any vehicles," Shuri said.
"You do now," Monica said, motioning for them to follow her.
On the part of the wall that wasn't cut out for the vehicle bay, was a tablet-like panel.
"There are three types of vehicles: sea, land and air," Monica said, pointing to each on the options bar.
"To access the air vehicles, however, you'll need to take the elevator right to the hangar," Monica added, pointing to the elevator.
"And where does the tunnel lead," Wanda asked.
"Outside, to an empty garage in Manhattan," Monica replied
"When did Mr Stark have the time to build all of this?" Peter asked
"No clue," Monica replied.
"Ohh, there's also a self-driving car in the garage, It's programmed to drop you off close enough to school so that you're not seen," Monica explained
"Speaking of I got to go," Monica added, looking at her watch
"Go where?" Danny asked.
"Finalise your enrolment, so I hope you're prepared to start on Monday" Monica replied.
"Yes!" Danny exclaimed in joy
"Give it a week," Wanda commented to Peter.
"Alright I'm off, and if you ever need help, just ask A.V.A," She added, in front of the elevator.
"Who's Ava?" Shuri asked.
A loud "I am", answered the question in a feminine voice. It was followed, shortly after, by a holographic golden sphere. The sphere was surrounded by 3 orbiting rings and floated above the central circular table.
"I'm your smart house security system," Said A.V.A., a system built by Stark to assist the occupants of this house.
"Mr Stark really had a lot of free time", said Peter, complementing the holograph but also reminiscing about his previous mentor.
"Anyways, I'll be back soon, in the meantime make yourselves at home," Monica said, and the elevator doors closed in front of her.
"I could get used to this," Wanda said, jumping down onto the crescent couch.
"You could say that again," Peter said, jumping onto the other end of the couch.
"You think Monica would mind if we went for a drive?" Shuri asked.
"I don't think that's a good idea," Wanda replied, sitting up on the sofa and shifting her weight to her forearms
"Monica's not here to stop us," Peter said.
"No, I mean none of us have our licences. What happens if we get stopped?" Wanda replied.
"The police aren't gonna stop a Shield vehicle," Danny said, selecting the Shield armoured vehicle, from the selection tablet.
A mechanical whirring filled the room, and a cylindrical panel on the runway split in half and retracted. Out of the gap, rose an armoured Shield vehicle on a circular lift.
"Rock paper scissors, the winner gets to drive," Shuri said to Peter and Danny
"Wanda, you coming?" Danny asked looking in Wanda's direction
Wanda sighed and answered. "I don't want to be the one to tell Monica where you guys went when she comes back,"
"2v2's, and the winners' duel to see who drives," Peter said, and they paired up. Danny and Shuri, and Peter and Wanda.
Danny lost his match to Shuri whilst Wanda lost to Peter.
Shuri and Peter stood opposite each other, both with their right fist in their left palm.
"On shoot," Danny said, and they both nodded.
"Rock, Paper, scissors, shoot," They both said in Unison, and Peter's scissors were lost to Shuri's rock.
"Best 2 out of 3," Peter said, and Shuri nodded
They went again, and Shuri's scissors beat Peter's Paper
"Yes!" Shuri exclaimed, throwing both her hands in the air, whilst Peter threw his hands on his head in disbelief.
"Shotgun!" Wanda yelled, Jumping into the passenger seat, whilst Shuri got into the driver's seat.
"Damn it," Peter exclaimed and got into the back seat with Danny.
"Do you even know how to drive this thing?" Wanda asked, buckling her seatbelt.
"I'll figure it out," Shuri replied, Starting the engine, and flipping a few switches.
"Vehicle go for launch," A.V.A. said on the speakers, and the stoppers in front of the wheels retracted, Shuri slammed on the accelerator, and the vehicle sped through the tunnel. In less than a minute, it was approaching the end. The doors to the empty garage opened, and they turned onto an almost empty street.
They all yelled "Whoooo," cruising down the road, with no idea where exactly they wanted to go.
