For the first time in the history of Newyorker group and Newyorker Mansion, Danny had woken up early. He was wearing his usual blue hoodie jacket and a blue tie-dye shirt with a white lightning bolt design. However, he wasn't the first one awake.
He walked up towards the storage room door, scanned his finger on the panel below the light switch and descended to the basement through the elevator. He walked out and was shocked to see pillows and blankets thrown around the room.

"Ava, start the deactivation process," Shuri said, placing a small piece of vibranium in a white and transparent machine on the table, which was covered in half of her lab.

"Of course princess," Ava's voice said in the speakers, and a small metallic arm with a glowing blue tip descended from the top of the machine. Shuri watched intensively as a blue pulse of sound waves shot out from the arm.

"Uhhh, Shuri?' Danny asked a little confused

Shuri flinched, turning on her bracelets and activating her gauntlets. She got up on her legs and spun around pointing her gauntlets at Danny, who now had his hand in the air. Shuri let out a sigh of relief, and the Nanites of her gauntlets retracted back into her bracelets.

"Did you sleep down here?" Danny asked, looking around the room.

"For a few hours yeah, but I don't think I'll be able to get a full night's sleep until I finish this," She said, getting back to her work.

"Speaking of, what are you doing down here so early, you're not usually an early bird," Shuri asked noticing that it was 7:43 am

"I'm working on something," Danny replied, putting his bag on the clustered table and pulling out a black pouch that contained the pieces of the broken emp arrow from their first mission. He placed the pouch on the table, sped into the armoury, grabbed the arrow that Monica brought him and returned only to see that Shuri's papers were now scattered around the table.

"Try to warn me next time you do that," Shuri complained.

"Sorry," Danny said and rounded up all of the papers at super speed before handing them to Shuri.

He sat down opposite her and placed the pieces of the broken arrow on the table along with Clint's arrow.

"Is that what I think it is?" Shuri asked to which Danny responded with a nod

"I thought the mech explosion destroyed it!" Shuri exclaimed, jumping out of her blanket seat to check it out.

"I managed to collect some of the broken pieces before we left," Danny clarified and placed the broken pieces in an order that somewhat resembled an arrow before noticing something on the arrow tip. The almost hollow head had been cut in half vertically, and on the inside was a small metallic rectangle with a blinking red light. A tracking device.

"Shit," Danny said, dropping the arrow tip.

"Don't worry, this place can't be bugged, I upgraded the security myself," Shuri reassured

Reluctantly, Danny picked up the arrow tip and removed the tracking device. He flipped it over, seeing two barely visible words covered in sud. He rubbed it off with his fingers and read "Bishop Security'' on the device. He remembered that name. It was on the trucks from the auction house. Did Derek Bishop help them destroy the mech? No, it wouldn't make sense. He wouldn't destroy his own tech. Danny promised himself he would figure it out later, and started disassembling Clint's arrow. From what he could tell the circuitry and build or the arrows were very similar.

"Hey Ava," Danny called out

"Yes Danny" She replied

"Can you run two simulations at once?" He asked

"I can run 616 simulations at once," She replied

"Okay, I need you to digitally recreate this and compare it to this," He said, sliding the objects towards the centre of the table and grabbed the last Capri Sun from the fridge.
Ava scanned the pieces and began running a test and after a few minutes, she was done.

"The two arrows seem to be made of the same components and possess similar craftsmanship. They even look to be based on the same blueprints," She explained.

So that settled it. The question that had been secretly circling in his mind since the first mission. That mystery archer was somehow connected to the world's best archer and for some reason, he felt it had something to do with Kate from school.

"Danny," Shuri called out, snapping him out of his trance.

"Your alarms going off," She said pointing to Danny's phone

He picked it up and read the time. 8:00 it read, and he put it back in his pocket.

"I'm gonna go see if the others are awake," Danny said, putting the pieces of the broken arrow back in his bag

"I'll be up in a sec," Shuri replied as Danny stepped into the elevator.
The doors closed in front of him, and he rose to the ground floor. The doors opened back up and Danny was greeted by Wanda and Peter standing right opposite the doors.

"Ohh, we were just gonna look for you," Wanda said, and the two stepped into the elevator

"I gotta warn you, the basement's a bit of a mess," Danny said as the doors closed and they descended.

When the doors opened, the basement looked immaculate, with the table cleared off and all of the blankets folded and on the couch.

"How did you-" Danny stammered

"Don't ask, '' Peter interrupted, right as the self-driving car loaded up onto the runway.

"Let's go," Shuri said, and they all got into the car and left the house.
During the car trip, all Danny could do was fiddle with the tracking device he found in the arrow until they got to school.

When they got to the school gates, Danny noticed something. A black SUV pulled up on the opposite side of the street. The driver-side door opened and out stepped quite a large man wearing a black suit and black sunglasses. The man opened the back seat door, and during this motion, Danny caught a glimpse of something on his belt. A holster. Danny was about to turn back around to focus on his friends, but then he saw Kate step out of the car. Why did Kate need an armed driver? He wanted to look longer to see if he could find some answers, but Kate looked over in his direction, and he quickly spun his head around to face his friends. A little too quick

They met up with Ned and MJ as usual and stopped by their lockers before heading to class. Danny placed the pouch with the broken arrow pieces in his locker, neglecting to put the tracker back in with the others. When the rest were done, the kids headed to their IT class, whilst Wanda went to her study block.

During the period, Danny couldn't help but be bored. He already knew all this stuff, and in his mind, he had a bigger issue to deal with. So he waited till the teacher wasn't looking, and started his research. First, he had to know exactly who Derek Bishop was. So he started reading, article after article. From what he could see, Derek bishop looked like a completely normal billionaire philanthropist. He made his company multinational when he moved to England right before the blip.

"Mr Ramson," A thundering yet calm voice said behind him. At first Danny had trouble remembering that 'Mr Ramson' was him but when he did, a cold shiver was sen down his spine. His super senses had failed to alert him of the presence behind him.

"I highly doubt Bishop security has anything to do with our current topic," The teacher remarked, and out of the corner of Danny's eye, he saw Kate cringe at the mention of the company.

"Sorry," Danny said, nervously closing his tabs, and the teacher returned to his lesson.

During lunch break, Danny needed a place to think. He wanted to go to the roof, but that was Peter's spot, so since most people were in the cafeteria, he settled on roaming the near-empty halls of the school. While walking through, however, the tracking device he had forgotten was in his pocket started vibrating. He took it out and the red light was blinking fast. He started spinning it in his hand, not looking in front of him, and bumped into someone, causing the device to slip from his fingers. He turned around to apologise, and saw Kate, staring at her watch, which was beeping at a similar pace to the tracer.

"Sorry about that," She said, hiding the watch behind her back.

"No it's my fault, I should pay attention to where I'm going," Danny stated only to notice that Kate was staring at the tracer on the floor.

"Your watch is beeping," Danny spoke up, aiming to distract her.

"Ohh, sorry it's just my, uhh, alarm for class," She spewed out, turning around to turn it off.

Danny took this opportunity and used a very small percentage of his super speed to pick the tracer back up and placed it into his pocket. Kate turned back around and smiled in satisfaction after seeing the tracer was no longer on the ground.

"We still on for today," Kate asked looking back up at Danny.

"Yeah, no surprises. Hopefully," Danny nervously responded. Causing Kate to chuckle.

"See you around," Kate said, walking past the speedster.

"Yeah, see you around," Danny watched her walk off and turn to the right, before hearing quick footsteps behind him. He turned around and saw Betty Brant pacing towards him.

"Hey new kid," Betty exclaimed, jogging straight past him and in Kate's direction.
He was about to head back to his friends when he heard something.

"Hey Kate, I need to talk to you," Betty asked, catching up with the new girl.

"Yeah sure, what can I do for you,"

"Are you Kate Bishop and if so can I get an inter- ," Betty didn't even get to finish her sentence before Kate practically dragged her into the nearest empty classroom Danny could still hear their conversation but barely. Something about Kate being at midtown high is supposed to be a secret.

"There you are," Someone called out behind Danny

He turned around and saw Shuri a few feet behind him.

"Class is about to start," She clarified, pointing to the class behind her.

"Yeah, I'll be there in a sec," He replied, taking one last glance at the room Kate and Betty were in before moving to his next class.
