Chapter 2: The Power Within

Hey everyone, I'm back with a new chapter. Wow over 75 followers and favorites after only one chapter? Thank you all so much for your support. With the Ranma 1/2 remake being released soon, I wanted to get this out in celebration of the new anime. I'd like to thank Chris Ketchum for helping me with the beginning. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.

We find ourselves at Uncle's Rare Finds as Adrien, Elena, Jade, Jackie, and Uncle are looking at the now-female Ranma.

"So uh Ranma, just to clarify…you're a guy right?" Adrien asks.

"Yes." Ranma nods.

"But you have…" Jade pauses gesturing to the chest area.

"Yes, I know." Ranma groans. "Do you have any hot water for tea?"

"One minute." Uncle said walking away to fill up a mug. When he walks back Ranma dumps it on causing him to turn back into a boy the second the hot water touches him. Unfortunately, it was hot causing Ranma to scream in pain.

"Ow! Next time don't wait until it steams." Ranma cringed.

"What the hell? You're a boy again." Adrien gasps.

Curious, Jade pokes his chest area to make sure.

"Where'd they go?" Jade asks but Ranma smacks them away.

"Stop doing that!" Ranma glares.

"I…I have no idea what to make of this." Adrien said confused by all this. "Uh…" Turning around Adrien glanced at Elena.

"Don't look at me, I've never seen anything like this in my life," Elena assures.

"Look, when I get hit with cold water, I turn into a girl but warm water can turn me back into a boy. It's all because I fell into that dang spring." Ranma starts.

"Spring? What kind of spring does-" Jackie starts.

"Aiya!" Uncle exclaims getting their attention. "You fell into the Cursed Springs of the Bayankala Mountain range!" Uncle declares pointing his finger at Ranma.

"The what?" Adrien asks never hearing of such a thing.

Walking into his study, Uncle came out with a large book.

Placing it down on the table, Uncle flipped through the pages until he came across a page that showed several springs filled with bamboo rods sticking out of them.

"South of Mount Kensei, there are many stories where various people and animals met their ends in those springs. Legend says that if you fall in you will become whatever drowned in their first." Uncle explains.

"So you fell into one where a girl drowned and it turned you into one." Adrien realized.

"Yep." Ranma sighs.

"Wait back up. When I lived back in Hong Kong I learned about the region, but they said that mountain was closed off to the public and no one could go up there." Jade recalls.

"Because like Uncle said, it's cursed!" Uncle emphasized. "Only a complete idiot would go there!"

"Yeah, that sounds about right," Ranma mutters hating his father more and more.

"So wait. Why did you go there if it's so dangerous and forbidden?" Jackie asks.

"My dad," Ranma simply states. "Ever since I could learn to walk my old man took it upon himself to train me so I could become a man among men."

"What's so bad about that?" Jade asks.

"That was just an excuse what he kept saying as an excuse to ruin my life. You would not believe the horrible things he's done to me. And anytime I tried calling him out on it he would say I sound like a girl with all my whining." Ranma states.

"Wait what?" Adrien said in disbelief.

"In his book, I have no say in my life. I have to blindly listen to him no matter what he says or does."

"That is not how a father or a master should talk to his students." Jackie points out.

"A true man among men is willing to acknowledge his faults and admit when he is wrong." Uncle states but Ranma just snickers.

"Pops? Admit he's wrong? Ha! The day that happens is the day I cut my ponytail." Ranma mocks.

"Ok clearly your dad is an idiot, but what about your mom? What did she think about all this?" Adrien asks and instantly his smirk turns to a frown.

"I…I don't know." Ranma admits.

"Oh dear god don't tell me he did something horrible to her. He might have sold her." Jade assumes in horror.

"Jade! That's a horrible thing to assume." Jackie scolds.

"After everything you heard him do to Ranma is it really that crazy?" Jade asks.

"She has a point." Elena points out.

"No, he didn't do that. At least I don't think. The truth is, I don't even remember. When I was 2 my stupid old man took me away from her to train me. I don't even know what she looks like. He claimed knowing about her would just be a distraction and never told me anything." Ranma explains.

"Ok, what the hell is wrong with this man?" Adrien asks.

"So what led to you finally storming off and ditching your dad?" Elena asks.

"He married me off to a girl I don't even know. And he didn't tell me until a few days ago." Ranma said.

"Arranged marriages? That's still a thing?" Jade raises an eyebrow.

"Oh yeah, my family set me up with one years ago. I'm engaged too." Adrien said getting everyone's attention.

"You are?" Ranma asks surprised.

"He is," Elena mutters with a hint of anger and jealousy.

"She's the heiress to a prestigious European Company. I met her when I was a kid and I'll admit despite a rocky start we learned to like each other's company as we got to know each other." Adrien said with a smile.

"So what? You think I should go through with it?" Ranma asks.

"Oh god no. Unlike your family, my family did it right. Anyone that psychopath set you up with cannot be a good match for you. Plus, even if it's arranged you have the option of backing out of it." Adrien said.

"Not to him. My stupid old man told me I don't get a say and must do this. He's ruined my entire life and now he thinks he can just sell away my future? I didn't care what happened I wasn't gonna put up with him for another second longer. So I ditched him and snuck onto a plane. And the rest you all know." Ranma finishes.

Looking at him, the 5 listeners couldn't believe someone could deal with such hardships.

As Jackie glances at Uncle and Adrien, he wonders if there is a way to help him.

"I suppose we might have an air mattress around here somewhere. Perhaps until we figure out a plan you can stay here helping Uncle at the shop." Jackie offers surprising him.

"Seriously?" Ranma asks.

"Uncle could use an assistant. Someone to make sure the coffee is made." Uncle said glaring at Jackie.

"I can seriously stay with you guys?" Ranma asks.

"For the time being. At least until we can figure out something what to do." Jackie said.

"Thank you, that means a lot," Ranma said grateful.

As Jackie and Uncle try to figure out what to do with Ranma, Jaden glances at Adrien.

"So hey if you're engaged to a rich girl, does that mean you're rich too?" Jade asks interested.

"Well it's my parents who are rich but yeah. Adrien Krei, from Krei Industries." Adrien introduces getting Ranma's attention.

"Wait a minute. I saw a guy on TV with that last name giving away a company." Ranma recalls.

"Yeah, that was my dad." Adrien smiles.

"No way," Ranma said blown away.

"So…how rich are you?" Jade asks blown away.

"I'm not comfortable talking about my family's financial situation. It's technically my parent's money, not mine," Adrien said.

"Do you have a bunch of big houses, and yachts, and stuff?" Jade asks.

"A penthouse, a vacation home, no yachts," Adrien answers.

"You should totally get one, then you can take me places," Jade suggests eagerly.

"Pass, my parents don't believe in wasting time and money on such things. Besides, if we ever need to go anywhere, we'll just take the private jet." Adrien said making Jade's eyes widen.

"Holy moly, wait if you're so rich why are you hanging out here?" Jade asks.

"My mother funds many of Jackie's archeological digs, he teaches me quite a few things from History to Martial Arts." Adrien assures.

"You better get home before your parents start wondering." Elena reminds.

"Oh man, you're right. We'll talk later. Jackie, if anything crazy happens you know my number. Try to take it easy tonight." Adrien suggests.

"No promises," Ranma said as Adrien and Elena left.

Unsure what would happen now, Ranma turns to Jackie, Jade, and Uncle.

"Why don't we go get some dinner? A little food might help us make sense of this whole thing." Jackie suggests.

"I don't have any cash on me," Ranma said instantly.

"It's on me tonight. You look like you could use it." Jackie offers.

Hearing this, Ranma wasn't gonna say no to a free meal.

Meanwhile, at his base, we see Valmont looking at the statue of Shendu with his Finn, Ratso, and Chow standing on the other side of his desk.

"Valmont, are your men blind? It would seem those possessed of sight might have taken note that the shield contained no talisman." Shendu mocks.

"Why is the boss taking gut from a statue?" Ratso mutters.

"Because it talks." Finn clarifies.

"Now, if my promise to you of unspoiled riches were as empty as that shield…" Shendu starts.

"Rest assured, Shendu. You will have your talisman. And I will ensure that Jackie Chan and his little band of misfits never again interfere with the Dark Hand. Ever." Valmont assures.

Meanwhile, at a Chinese Restaurant, Ranma was sitting with Jade, Jackie, and Uncle for dinner.

"Chinese food? I just moved here from Hong Kong. Can't we get some Tex-Mex?" Jade asks.

"Can we save the critic until after I get some food in me?" Ranma asks eager to eat.

"Jackie, the Rooster Talisman possesses enormous power." Uncle gestures to the talisman that was on the table until Jade picks it up.

"What's it do?" Jade asks curious.

"Manners Jade," Jackie said taking it and putting it back on the table.

"Ancient legends speaks of twelve talismans, one for each animal of the Chinese zodiac. Each possesses a different magic." Uncle said showing the zodiac on the menu.

"What kind of magic?" Ranma asks curious.

"Legend also says the talismans were scattered to the four corners of the globe. If this or any talisman should fall into evil hands—" Uncle starts.

"Jackie, Ranma, and Adrien will give the smackdown with lightning fists of steel!" Jade said banging her fist on the table startling a nearby couple.

"Assuming I stick around," Ranma mutters.

"Hey, when are you gonna teach me some moves?" Jade asks interested.

"I'll teach you some stuff, Jade. The Anything Goes Dojo has some pretty good moves." Ranma declares intriguing Jade while confusing Jackie.

Narrowing his eyes, Uncle whacks Ranma on the head with his chopsticks.

"Ow. What the heck?" Ranma asks.

"Disgraceful. No true martial arts would ever take pride in such a declaration." Uncle scolds.

"What? My dojo? What's wrong with that?" Ranma asks.

"Ranma the term "anything goes" is not something most martial artists would say. It sounds as if your style will do anything to win. Even dishonorable tactics." Jackie said.

"Martial Arts teaches Honor and Respect. Anything Goes indicates you have neither." Uncle scolds.

"Hey, I spent my whole life learning this style. It's what my dad taught me." Ranma said. "And you expect me to show respect to people those goons that attacked us? Or what if I run into my old man? You expect me to respect him after everything he's done to me?"

Jackie was about to answer when Jade stood up.

"Please. The second he shows up should do this. Hiya!" Jade said doing a series of jump kicks.

"Jade, not indoors!" Jackie calls out as Jade accidentally bumps into a waiter causing him to fall against a table making a bowl of noodles drop down on Uncle's head.

In his confusion, Uncle knocks over a candle which starts burning a tablecloth.

"Fire!" Jackie gasped dropping the talisman on a spoon as he ran to put it out.

"Hold still." Running to Uncle, Ranma grabbed the bowl but it was on tight. Pulling hard the bowl flew off Uncle's head which landed right on the spoon sending the talisman flying into the air and landing in a bowl of soup.

"My niece is very sorry. Aren't you?" Jackie asks gesturing to Jade.

"I am such a dork." Jade groans as 4 bowls were brought to their table.

"Well, that was eventful." Ranma rolls his eyes.

"I was just trying to get you to teach me, Jackie," Jade explains.

"The wise seek power within themselves, the foolish seek it in others. Until you learn to harness the power within. I cannot teach you." Jackie explains to Jade before turning to Ramna. "And Ranma, while respect is something everyone must earn if you do not understand the concept yourself you can't expect to earn it yourself."

"What does that mean?" Both kids ask.

"It means you two have a lot of learning and soul-searching to do. Now eat up." Jackie said as the bowl with the talisman was placed in front of Jade.

"Power within. Got it." Jade said before she started wolfing down her food and slurping up noodles.

"Don't eat like a baboon. Chew your food." Jackie warns.

"Hello. Chew soup?" Jade counters.

"Help me out here." Jackie gestures.

"She's your niece." Uncle gestures.

"Don't look at me. I got soul searching to figure out." Ranma smirks before eating his dinner.

Tipping up the bowl Jade inhales ALL the contents of the bowl finishing her meal with Ranma finishing shortly after.

"Man, I needed that," Ranma said relieved.

"Ooh, dessert," Jade said as they both grabbed a fortune cookie.

Opening it, Ranma ate the cookie and read his fortune.

"A new change could bring you great happiness." Ranma read. "Hmm maybe."

"Danger looms in your future." Jade read aloud.

"We must be very cautious." Uncle warns.

"Pfft. You listen to a cookie?" Jackie mocks as Finn, Ratso, and Chow approach their table.

"Evening Chan," Finn said getting their attention.

"Wow, that was fast," Ranma said surprised.

"Never, mock the cookie." Uncle states.

"Where's the Talisman?" Finn asks.

Narrowing his eyes, Jackie gives Ranma a glance telling him not to say anything.

"Uh…" Jackie starts only for Ratso to yank him out of his seat.

He is about to strike when Jackie grabs him by his tie only for Chow to join in.

Grabbing his empty bowl, Ranma threw it at Chow hitting him in the head.

Alarmed the other customers gasped in fear before running out.

"Go get'em!" Jade cheers.

Picking up a chair, Finn swings it at Jackie who ducks and sweeps his leg.

Finn pulls out a gun but before he can fire, Jackie kicks it out of his hand and into a fishtank and nails him with a second kick.

Moving in, Chow took out two rods that grew to the size of batons. Charging in, Ranma grabs him by the wrists stopping him.

"Do you clowns have any idea how long it's been since I got to eat out?" Ranma glares.

Flipping over him, Ranma threw Chow sending him crashing into a table.

Taking off his tie in anger, Ratso charged in but Jade grabbed a broom and used it to trip him.

"Ha." Jade grins only for Uncle to take it.

"Leave the rough stuff to the experienced fighters." Uncle said as Ratso got up. Spinning the broom around Uncle whacks Ratso in the stomach making him keel over.

"Go Uncle." Jade grins.

As Ranma and Jackie took fighting stances the three goons immediately ran out.

"Yeah, you clowns better run," Ranma calls out.

"Thank you for dining with us," Jackie calls out.

As they made their way back to the table, Jackie gasped seeing the talisman was gone.

"The Talisman! It was right here!" Jackie said looking around frantically.

"No wonder they ran! One of them probably grabbed it!" Ranma realized.

"Come on! If we hurry we can catch them!" Jade ran only for Jackie to grab her by the shirt.

"Stay with Ranma and Uncle." Jackie orders.

"Wait, I can help," Ranma said.

"Right now, I need you to keep an eye on Jade," Jackie said running after them.

Hearing this, Jade got an idea.

"Come, sit with Uncle." Uncle gestures when Jade gasps.

"The restaurant manager! He looks very angry." Jade points.

"Where?" Uncle turns around but sees nothing. When he turned back he saw Jade and Ranma were gone. "Uncle need to make a phone call."

At Adrien's penthouse, Adrien was sitting at a table overlooking the city when Angela walked up to him.

"Master Adrien." She said bringing him some tea.

"Thank you, Angela," Adrien said turning to her. "Why don't you pour yourself a drink and join me?" He offers surprising her.

"A-Are you sure?" Angela asks as Adrien nods his head.

"Well…I suppose it would be rude to say no." Angela said nervously.

Sitting down across from him, Adrien pours her a cup.

As she took a sip, the maid leaned back in her seat to relax.

"Is something on your mind?" Angela asks curious.

"Angela, do you remember when my parents first told me that I was engaged?" Adrien asks and she just giggles.

"How could I forget? I just started working here. You threw such a fit." Angela smiles clearing her throat. "But daddy I don't want to be married to some girl." She said trying to sound like Adrien.

"That bad huh?" Adrien cringed.

"You wouldn't leave your room for 2 days. And don't even get me started on when you two met for the first time. You called her evil because she beat you in a sword fight." Angela said making Adrien blush.

"How was I supposed to know her ancestors were knights and she had been trained for years?" Adrien points out but that just amused her.

"And don't get me started on when she broke your first bow. You got into such a fight. Boy were your parents angry." Angela recalls making Adrien groan embarrassed.

Smiling Angela scooted closer and patted his forehead.

"I think that was what led to me being assigned to you," Angela recalls.

"You just always knew what I needed to help me feel better," Adrien smiles softly.

"And because I also convinced you to apologize to her." Angela points out.

"Yeah she fixed my bow, or at least she tried to." Adrien chuckles feeling better.

"Slowly you two began to enjoy each other's company and the rest is history." Angela finishes.

"And now I really wish she was here right now." Adrien sighs.

"What brought this on?" Angela asks curious.

"I met a new friend and like me, his father wanted to force him into an arranged marriage," Adrien admits.

"Well hopefully you can help him, but if you ever find yourself in need of an extra voice Master, I'm here." Angela offers.

"Thank you, Angela. I know I can always count on you." Adrien said leaning in and pecking her on the cheek making her eyes widen.

Before she could respond Adrien's phone rang.

"I need to take this. Enjoy yourself." Adrien said walking away leaving Angela alone.

As a blush appeared on her face, Angela shook her head.

"Oh Master, why must you mess with a woman's heart like that?" Angela sighs.

"Uncle, what's up?" Adrien asks and instantly his eyes widen. "Alright, I'm on my way."

Hanging up, Adrien turns to Angela. "Angela, I need your help. Jackie and my friends were attacked and robbed at a restaurant."

"What?" She gasps concerned.

"People need my help." Adrien declares as she stands up.

"I'll drive," Angela said surprising him.

"I was just gonna ask for you to cover for me," Adrien admits.

"Your well-being is my job," Angela explains.

Seeing that there was no way he could leave without her, Adrien sighed.

"Alright let's go," Adrien said as they left to go help Jackie.

Outside in the alley, Finn was dialing Valmont on a video phone.

"Mr. Valmont, sir. It didn't go quite as planned." Finn admits

"Regale me," Valmont said unamused.

"Well, we stomped Chan and one of his little buddies." Finn lies.

"Stomped them good," Ratso adds.

"But we didn't see any Talisman," Finn admits.

"You will be punished." Valmont declares ending the calling.

"Hindsight, Valmont. But perhaps the blind can be made to see with the eyes of a dragon." Shendu said when a part of the statue melted changing into a stone shaped artifact with 4 dragon heads.

Appearing out of the shadows, the Shadowkhan grabbed it.

Back in the alley, we see Jackie catch up with the 3 Enforcers.

Panicking they made a run for it with Jackie following them. Little did he know Jade was watching him.

"There you are," Jade said when a hand grabbed her startling her.

"There you are," Ranma said appearing behind her.

"Ranma, you scared me." Jade glares.

"You know he told you to stay with Uncle." Ranma points out.

"Didn't say which Uncle. And you're supposed to be keeping an eye on me." Jade counters.

"Technically I am," Ranma gestures.

"Well, you can keep watching me as I go help Jackie," Jade said running after him.

"I go from running away to babysitting." Ranma groans following her.

Up ahead, the Shadowkhan held up the seeking device as Jackie and Ranma ran by but when Jade ran by one of the dragon heads began to glow telling them who the real target was.

Reaching their limo, the enforcers struggled to get away.

"Where are the keys?!" Finn asks fiddling around.

"He's gaining!" Ratso calls out as Finn puts the keys in and floors it.

Coming to a stop, Jackie caught his breath. Pausing he got the strangest feeling he was being followed.

Behind him, Jade, Ranma, and the Shadowkhan quickly hid before he noticed them.

As Jackie ran ahead, Jade ran after him with Ranma right behind her.

When Jackie turns a corner, Jade follows only to be grabbed.

"Hey drop her!" Ranma yells only to see it was Jackie who grabbed her.

"Oh hey Jackie." Jade cringed.

"You followed me! What do you hear when I talk? Tell me, does it sound like blah-blah, blah-blah, blah-blah-blah-blah-blah?" Jackie mocks and Ranma laughs.

"Busted." Ranma points.

"And I told you to keep an eye on her!" Jackie scolds but Ranma just glares.

"You asked for a favor, technically you can't boss me around since I'm only here temporarily." Ranma reminds.

"Oh right. Sorry." Jackie apologizes.

"Uh guys." Jade gulps noticing something.

"This is not funny Jade. This is dangerous. You both shouldn't be here." Jackie said.

"I've been thrown into danger since I was little. I can handle this." Ranma assures when Jade clings to Jackie.

"Not now Jade," Jackie said but she turned his head to reveal the Shadowkhan lurking towards them. "See dangerous."

Gulping the three of them stepped back in fear.

"Come on!" Grabbing Jade, Jackie ran down one alley with Ranma right behind them.

"Aren't you guys gonna whomp'em?" Jade asks.

"We can take'em!" Ranma agrees.

"Ancient proverb: don't fight when you can run!" Jackie calls out as they ran past a street.

Emerging behind them, we see Tohru had arrived.

Running to the main street, Jackie put her down.

"Ranma, you come with me. Jade, you got that way." Jackie orders.

"But—" Jade starts.

"Go, you'll be safer away from us," Jackie orders as he and Ranma run ahead, but when the Shadowkhan notices them, they run in Jade's direction.

"Uh Jackie, they're not following us anymore." Ranma noticed confusing him.

"Huh?" Turning around Jackie saw they were running away from them.

"I thought you said they were after us," Ranma asks confused.

"I thought they were," Jackie said following after them.

Down the street, Jade was running for her life as the Shadowkhan chased her.

"Why are they chasing me?" Jade said confused.

Passing by an alley she sees someone threw a skateboard and a helmet in the trash.

"Please have four wheels." Jade picks it up and races ahead putting some distance between her and the Shadowkhan. "Yes." She grins.

But that was short lived as Jade found herself going down a steep slope.

As the Shadowkhan leap onto the roof of a moving truck, Jackie and Ranma arrive at the top.

"Aw, man where's a trolley when you need one?" Ranma asks looking around.

Gasping Jackie sees a grocer with a shopping cart. "Sorry, we'll bring it right back." Jackie said as Ranma climbed in and Jackie held onto the rail. "Just pretend you're on rollercoaster!" Jackie advised before pushing and they went down the slope.

"I've never been on one!" Ranma screams as they raced after them.

As Jade closed in on a few cars, she pulls up bouncing off a car and truck pulling ahead but cars from the opposite side of the road closed in on Ranma and Jackie.

"Ranma we have to jump!" Jackie urged.

"Onto what?" Ranma gestures.

"Just trust me." Kicking the cart, Jackie leaps off shooting Ranma ahead allowing him to leap up and grab onto the truck the Shadowkhan were on.

Turning around Ranma saw Jackie land on an incoming car and leaps across traffic before landing next to him.

"Holy crap, that was amazing." Ranma said blown away.

"It was nothing," Jackie said climbing up and helping him up.

Seeing they were in the way, the Shadowkhan attacked them.

Ducking Ranma blocks the attack and kicks him back allowing Jackie to move in and punch the one with the Seeking Device causing it to drop the device.

Landing on the sidewalk, Tohru picked up the device.

Making their way to the bottom of the slope, Jade raced past a construction as she approached the bridge.

Turning around she saw Jackie and Ranma fighting atop the truck.

"You guys rule!" Jade grins.

But while she was distracted, she ended up racing through a construction site.

Panicking Jade, leaps up and grinded against a rail, unfortunately the rail was from the construction site causing Jade to fly right off the bridge.

Screaming in fear, Jade's board fell to the waters below, but to her surprise and confusion Jade was floating in midair. "Huh?"

Not wanting to see how long this would last, Jade scrambled back to the bridge and grabbed onto a metal pole for dear life.

"How did I do that?" Jade asks curious.

Back on the truck, one Shadowkhan rolled along the top and kicks Ranma in the chin knocking him upwards banging against an upper support making him cringe in pain.

"Ranma!" Jackie gasps.

Hearing the screams, the truck driver looks in his rearview mirror and sees the fight going on.

Panicking he slams on the brakes causing the truck to swerve towards the edge.

While Jade managed to avoid being flattened the truck banged against the rails causing Jackie and the Shadowkhan to fling over the edge.

"Jackie!" Jade yells.

Groaning, Ranma is slow to his knees when he notices Jackie dangling over the edge but the Shadowkhan are holding onto him.

"Jackie." Trying to help, Ranma tripped to see his leg was stuck in between the column. "Ugh, I don't have time for this."

As one tried climbing the others, Jackie noticed him.

"No cutting in line." Repeatedly kicking the one below him the Shadowkhan rope fell except for the one that tried to cut.

Just before they could reach the water, the Shadowkhan opened up their robes and they glided to safety.

Looking around, Jade threw a rope down near Jackie.

"Jackie grab on!" Jade calls out.

Jackie reached out to grab it but the Shadowkhan climbed over his shoulder onto the framework.

"Help." Jade gulps nervously.

"Why do you want the girl?" Jackie calls out.

The Shadowkhan reaches for the rope, but Jackie loses his grip forcing him to grab the Shadowkhan by the leg.

Using the leg to swing upwards, Jackie lands on the framework above it.

Climbing up to the top, Jade waits for Jackie to make it up first.

"Oh ninja man." Looking up the Shadowkhan saw Jade push the reel holding the rope off the bridge making it plummet into the water below.

"I don't understand why they were after—"

"Jackie, the coolest thing ever happened; I went and ran off the bridge but I didn't fall; I stopped in mid-air and then I ran back just like in cartoons!" Jade interrupts before gasping. "Maybe I'm magical like Ranma!"

"Jade, enough fooling around," Jackie said not buying it.

"Fooling around? I just saved your butt." Jade snaps.

"Language, Jade. The Dark Hand is after you and I want to know why." Jackie said when Tohru came up behind him and pinched a nerve knocking him out.

"The Talisman." Tohru orders as the seeker device glowed indicating it was here.

"I don't have it! You guys do! Dontcha?" Jade asks only for Tohru to grab her and Jackie.

After finally getting himself free, Ranma noticed their limo pull up.

"Oh no!" Gasping Ranma ran down only for the car to drive off. "Dammit! How am I gonna catch them now?!"

Coming up behind him, a silver car pulled up.

"Ranma?" Lowering a window, we see Adrien in the front seat.

"Adrien? What are you doing here?" Ranma asks.

"Uncle called me. Said you guys lost the Talisman." Adrien said.

"I'm afraid it's a lot worse. Jackie and Jade got kidnapped." Ranma explains.

"I leave you people alone for a few hours and this happens?" Adrien asks in disbelief.

"Less talking more driving," Ranma said getting in the car and noticing Angela. "Who the heck is this?"

"This is Angela. Angela this is my new friend Ranma." Adrien introduces.

"Nice to meet you." Angela nods in acknowledgment.

"I thought rich people rode in limos all the time," Ranma said as Adrien climbed in.

"No, we only use the limo for something big." Adrien brushes off. "Where did they go?

"Follow that car!" Ranma points.

Nodding Angela floors it and they raced after to save their friends.

At a Fish Cannery, we see Tohru, Finn, Ratso, and Chow talking to Valmont.

"The tracker points to the girl, but she does not have the talisman," Tohru informs.

"Well, it must be hidden on her somewhere, Tohru. I'm sure she didn't eat it." Valmont said before freezing at the very idea.

"Man is much the wiser when he looks within," Shendu informs.

"I understand." Tohru nods.

"And while you're at it, eliminate Jackie Chan." Valmont orders.

In another room, we see Jade strapped to a table while a semi-conscious Jackie was handcuffed to some metal pipes.

"Hello!? Let me outta here! I mean it! Just wait'll the Jackinator comes to. You guys are gonna get so creamed!" Jade yells as Jackie slowly woke up.

"Jade?" Jackie calls out.

"Jackinator?" Jade responds.

As the elevator door opened, Tohru approached Jade with the seeker device it glowed brightly as he held it over her stomach. "Aha." Tohru declares.

"Aha, what? What's the aha?" Jade asks as Tohru pulls out a scimitar. "What are you going to do with that?!"

On the upper floor, Finn, Ratso, and Chow were standing guard.

"Ugh, this is taking forever." Finn groans.

"Hey if that kid really did eat the Talisman, I'd rather Tohru gets it than me," Ratso assures when suddenly they heard a knock at the door.

"What was that?" Chow asks suspiciously.

"No one's supposed to be here." Finn narrows his eyes.

Slowly all of them approached the door and when they opened it they were surprised to see Angela on the other side.

"Pardon me, but I'm afraid I'm lost. I need a big, strong, handsome, gentleman to help me find my way." Angela said acting like a damsel in distress.

Hearing this, Finn almost immediately grinned.

"Well you came to the right place sweetheart," Finn said brushing his hair back. "Your gentleman is right here."

"Hang on, she said big and strong. That's me." Ratso said shoving him.

"Yeah but handsome is me." Finn counters.

"What about me?" Chow asks.

"Oh please don't fight over me. Can you just point in the right direction?" Angela asks.

"Of course," Finn said as they stepped out.

"So where are you heading little—" As Ratso puts his hand on her shoulder, Angela immediately grabs him and throws him across the room making him crash to the ground.

"What the?!" Before Finn could react Adrien moves in from nearby and delivers a series of quick strikes before kicking him in the stomach.

As Chow charged in to attack, Ranma delivered a flying kick to the face.

"I thought you were into us." Ratso groans but Angela just rolls her eyes in disgust.

"Men are so easy to fool," Angela said.

"I never expected a maid who could kick butt before," Ranma said.

"Oh yeah, before I was trained in martial arts Angela was my bodyguard." Adrien chuckles.

"You don't get to work for Adrien's family without learning a thing or two," Angela smirks.

"I gotta step up or you guys might leave me in the dust." Ranma chuckles.

"Tell you what, we save Jade and Jackie, I'll bring you to my dojo sometime," Adrien said about to go in.

"You might need these," Angela said handing him his quiver and bow.

"You're the best. Stand guard." Adrien said as he and Ranma ran inside.

Turning around Angela saw the three goons get up.

"You're gonna pay for that little lady," Finn growls.

"Never call me that again," Angela said as a determined look appeared on her face.

Downstairs, Tohru was sharpening his sword to cut Jade open.

"The rooster thing is in my stomach! But when did I…the restaurant!" Jade gasps.

"How could you not notice you swallowed a golf ball? I told you to chew your food!" Jackie scolds.

"It was soup!" Jade defends.

"Never mind. We have to get you out of here before he gets the talisman out of you." Jackie said as Tohru examined the sharpness of the blade.

"The magic uncle was talking about. I'll fly out." Jade closes her eyes and grits her teeth trying to fly like earlier.

"Jade, even if you could fly, and I'm not saying you can, you are tied down to a big heavy table that is bolted to the floor." Jackie points out unaware of the floating boxes behind him.

As the door opens, Ranma and Adrien look at the floating objects in surprise.

"Whoa." Both teenage boys said not expecting this.

"What is going on?" Adrien asks.

"Those things really are magic," Ranma said amazed.

"Hold still," Tohru said approaching Jade unaware of the situation.

"Jade!" Ranma gasps.

Looking up, Adrien saw a crate hovering above Tohru.

Drawing an arrow, he fires an arrow breaking the chain and causing a crate of fish to crash down on him.

Surprised they saw Ranma leaping from floating crate to crate and picking up the sword.

"Guess I had that power within all along." Jade chuckles.

"Not what I meant. Ranma, get us out of here." Jackie said as Ranma looked towards Tohru was down and vulnerable.

So much of Ranma's training involved hitting someone when they were down, and he had the perfect chance.

"Ranma," Jackie calls out. "Don't be the man your father tried to make you into. Be the man you want to become. A real man among men."

Hearing this, Ranma realized Jackie was right. Hitting a man while he was down is what is stupid old man would want him to do. Not what he would do.

Taking the sword, Ranma cuts Jade free while Adrien does a roundhouse breaking the pipe Jackie was handcuffed to.

"Come on, Angela's got the car out front." Adrien urged when Tohru emerged from the pile of fish.

"I hate fish." Tohru glares.

"Why fight when you can run?" Jade recites as she floats in the air thanks to the talisman's powers.

"You're learning. Let's go!" Jackie said as they made their escape.

"This way!" Ranma said leading them up the stairs. But when they reached the top, Tohru had taken the elevator to meet them up there.

Roaring in anger, Tohru grabs a heavy crate and swings it at them.

Jumping back, Adrien loads an arrow and fires but Tohru uses the crate like a shield before throwing it at them.

"Whoa!" Adrien yelps dodging it.

Sliding in, Ranma delivers a kick to Tohru's stomach but the big guy just growls showing he wasn't a fan of that move.

As Tohru lunges to grab him Jade uses her powers to pull Ranma back making him bang into some crates.

"Jade! Take it easy!" Ranma groans making her cringe.

"I can take him!" Flying in, Jade attacked Tohru kicking him multiple times but nothing seemed to work.

Turning to her, Tohru took a deep breath and blew her away like she was a bug.

With her out of the way, Tohru charged at Jackie.

Thinking quickly Jackie dumped a bucket of fish on the floor causing Torhu to slip and crash into Jackie making everyone cringe.

Scanning the room, Jade looked for a way to help and noticed a marlin hanging on the wall.

Using her powers, Jade launches the fish at Tohru but the big guy catches it in his hands just before impact.

Hurling it at Jackie, he jumps narrowly missing as the fish impaled the area where his crotch would have been.

Cringing Ranma and Adrien almost felt that.

"Stop helping us!" Jackie yells at Jade.

"Sorry." Jade apologizes.

Taking a fighting stance, Adrien deflects Tohru's attacks with palm strikes before spinning inwards and nailing him in the gut with an elbow smash.

As he stumbled back, Ranma and Jackie delivered two kicks to the face making him bang against the wall.

But despite all the hits, the big guy refused to go down.

"They need help," Jade said scanning the room. "I need to hit Tohru with the biggest thing here." Gasping Jade realized the answer was right in front of her. "Himself. Hiyah!"

Thrusting her stomach forward Tohru was about to attack them when he was suddenly lifted into the air.

"He's too big…can't hold much…longer." Jade cringed before letting go.

Panicking the three of them ran for cover as Tohru crashed through the floor and into the water below.

"Is everyone okay?" Jackie asks concerned.

"A little shook up but I'll live." Adrien groans before noticing Ranma is missing. "Wait where's Ranma?"

"A little help here!" Looking down, Jackie saw Ranma dangling from a hole in a lower floor.

Gasping he jumped down and held out his arm.

"Take my hand quick!" Jackie said as Ranma grabbed it before he lost his grip.

Growling Jackie pulled him to safety.

"You alright?" Jackie asks.

"Yeah…thanks, Jackie," Ranma said catching his breath.

"Thank goodness, I was worried about you back on the bridge. Glad to see you found us." Jackie smiles.

Smiling softly, Ranma wasn't used to someone caring so much about his well-being. For the first time in a while Ranma was beginning to understand respect. And Jackie had definitely earned his.

"Listen uh, I'm sorry about earlier. I guess don't know much about respect and all that stuff because I've never had anyone in my life who I ACTUALLY respected." Ranma apologizes.

"It's never too late to learn Ranma." Jackie smiles putting a hand on his shoulder.

"Come on, let's get outta here. I need to get home and we need to get that talisman out of Jade." Adrien suggests.

Nodding they all ran outside only to see Finn being knocked to the ground with Ratso and Chow being added to the pile.

Looking across to Angela they saw her wiping dirt off her dress.

"Angela?" Adrien asks wanting an explanation.

"Idiots just don't learn." Angela shrugs.

"Whoa. She's cool." Jade whistles impressed.

At Section 13, Jackie walks with Captain Black down the corridor as he explains the situation.

"I'm telling you, Uncle was right, the talismans do possess magic powers," Jackie assures.

"Of course they do, Jackie. Now why don't you get some sleep?" Captain Black said not believing him. Opening a door, we see it looked exactly like Jackie's apartment.

"All my stuff! How'd it get here?" Jackie asks surprised.

"Until we can take down the Dark Hand, it's safer for you here inside Section 13. I hope it feels like home." Captain Black said.

"What about Uncle and Adrien?" Jackie asks.

"Adrien is staying with his family. The Krei family security can keep him safe when we're not around, plus Elena has volunteered to keep watch. As for your uncle…" Captain Black starts.

Cutting to a scene we see Uncle at his shop throwing powder around.

"Good magic, better than bad magic." Uncle said before looking at some books. "Hmm, there must be some way to remove the curse of the springs in these."

Sitting down he began flipping through them.

"He refused to move; something about messing up his feng shui or something." Captain Black explains.

"Uncle is very stubborn." Jackie nodded when two agents came in with Jade.

"Stomach successfully pumped." One said.

"Uh cock a doodle doo." Jade groans.

"What about her?" Jackie whispers but Black just points to all of her belongings indicating that she would stay with him.

"I trust you'll keep your niece in check?" Black assumes.

"Jackie, does this mean I'm a secret agent!?" Jade asks excitedly.

"No." Both said at the same time.

"Aww." Jade groans.

As Black turns to leave he notices Ranma leaning against the wall.

"Thanks for helping us get the Talisman back. You did well." Black said approaching him.

"No problem, those jerks had it coming. So what happens now? Jackie was gonna let me crash at his place." Ranma points out.

"Well you still can, but it'll just be with his uncle or you can stay here," Black said making Ranma pause.

"It's better than sleeping on the streets." Ranma sighs.

Looking at him, Black sighs leaning against the wall next to him.

"You know Jackie told me all about you," Black said.

"Really? All of it?" Ranma asks concerned.

"Well some stuff sounded weird but he told me what your life was like, with your dad and all that. No wonder you ran away." Black summarizes.

"It's not your fault my dad was the absolute worst," Ranma said.

"True, I can't change the past but I can help with everything else." Captain Black said.

"Oh yeah? How?" Ranma raises an eyebrow.

"Listen, because this is a matter of great importance, I'm willing to make you a deal." Black offers getting his attention. "If you agree to stick around and help Jackie and Adrien in the field, I will use all of Section 13's resources to track down and locate your mother."

Eyes widening Ranma turns to Black in disbelief.

"Are you serious? You can do that? But I don't even know her name or what she looks like." Ranma admits.

"It'll be difficult but not impossible. We'll start with your father and work our way from there. I'll also need a DNA sample." Black starts.

"Like what?" Ranma asks as Black reaches out and pulls a hair from his head. "Ow."

"This'll do. So do we have a deal?" Black asks holding out his hand.

Ranma couldn't believe this. Earlier today he had no idea what he was gonna do, but now he had a roof over his head thanks to Jackie, Uncle, and Jade, a chance to train with others thanks to Adrien, and now he might actually have a chance to find his mother thanks to Captain Black.

"Deal," Ranma said as they shook hands.

Meanwhile in the city of Nerima, Japan. We see Genma sitting on the porch talking to someone.

"Gone? What do you mean he's gone?" A male voice snaps.

Across from him, we see a man with medium-length black hair, a mustache, and wearing a brown gi. This was Soun Tendo.

"I mean the ungrateful little brat chose to abandon his duties and ran away." Genma blames.

"And you let him?" Soun asks in disbelief.

"I tried to subdue him, but…circumstances made it difficult," Genma said not wanting to admit he lost him.

"We had a deal Genma. Your son would marry one of my daughters and take over the dojo." Soun reminds before whimpering. "How could this happen? We planned everything."

"That boy has no understanding of what it means to be a man. Trust me, Soun. I will track down that traitor and drag him back here. This is happening whether he wants it or not." Genma declares.

"What if he finds other people? What if he changes dojos?" Soun asks worried.

"Please. He can't outrun me forever, sooner or later he'll slip up and I'll teach that boy a lesson he'll never forget." Genma boasts. "Tell your daughters to prepare themselves, because one of those lucky ladies will be wed."
