This is my way overdue sequel to "Healed By Love." If you have time, you might want to reread the series to refresh since the stories are so massive. I've reread them a few times, and I've always enjoyed the stories as I miss the Vampire Diaries and The Originals a lot!

This story picks up where the last one left off. Klaus just found out Illyria/Fred is pregnant with his child. We will time jump in this chapter as I was going to start the chapter in the Spring of season 3 with Giles/Liz wedding, but it seemed too much fun to write about Klaus coping with his impending fatherhood and dealing with Fred. This story will jump around settings from Mystic Falls to New Orleans to England to Los Angeles to Ohio, but most of the action will stay centered around Los Angeles as this story will be focusing more on Klaus/Illyria, Klaus/Caroline, and Angel as well as Damon and Elena. Buffy and Willow will be in it a lot less as Mystic Falls will not be the center of the action.

Disclaimer: I do not own Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Angel as they are the product of Joss Whedon. Nor do I own The Vampire Diaries, created by L.J. Smith, but the Originals are a creation of Julie Plec.

Chapter 1: A Miracle

******Mystic Falls, Previously******

Klaus smiled, and Fred's eyes grew big.

"Wow! That's some smile! You have a dimple! That's so darn sexy! I bet girls go wild for you," she observed.

Klaus laughed, charmed by the Texan. "I do okay," he said modestly.

"I wonder if our baby will have your dimple?" Fred wondered.

Klaus stopped laughing and looked at her in dismay. "What?" he asked.

"Oh, I'm sorry!" Fred said, wincing. "I didn't mean to just blurt it out like that."

"What do you mean?" Klaus asked.

"Well, we're pregnant, and Ria says that you're the daddy," Fred told him.

"What?" he bellowed in shock. "That's not possible. Vampires cannot reproduce."

"Yes, I have a theory about that," Fred said excitedly.

Klaus held up his hand. "Illyria," he called.

Fred changed. "I am here," she said.

"Is your other form insane? You cannot possibly be pregnant with my child!" he insisted.

"I was surprised, and when Willow said I had a new life inside of me, I thought she meant my host. I should have known your mother was only able to contain me because my energy was split," Illyria said. "When I became sick, Fred was suspicious. We took a test. Somehow, urinating on a small plastic stick is how humans determine if they are with child."

"It cannot be mine!" Klaus argued.

Illyria changed back to Fred. "Listen, here, mister. I don't know what you're implying, but Illyria isn't some tramp! She says you are the only one she has carnal knowledge of, so that makes you the daddy! And you are going to go to Texas with me and tell my daddy you knocked me up!" Fred said, glaring up at him. "If he gets out his shotgun, you will not hurt him! His bark is worse than his bite."

Klaus was rendered speechless.

He stood there staring a full minute, trying to process what Fred was saying.

"Klaus, did you understand that?" Fred asked. "We need to tell my parents, who live in Texas, about the baby."

Klaus nodded, still trying to wrap his mind around her words. "How can this be?" he asked.

"You are not from the line of vampires that Angel is, and you are part werewolf," Fred said. "Procreation must be possible."

"I have been on this Earth for a hundred centuries. Do you not think I have bedded plenty of fertile humans?" he asked her. "Not once has any of them become pregnant."

"You are not the first vampire we know who had a baby that wasn't supposed to," Fred said. "Angel's pregnancy was even more miraculous as Connor's momma was another vampire like Angel, not a hybrid or anything."

"How was that possible?" Klaus asked.

"It was the will of higher powers," she said. "So something wanted you to have a child. Connor ended up kidnapped as a baby and raised in a hell dimension with Angel's greatest enemy, so he came back a teenager, who hated his daddy. Let's hope nothing like that happens to our baby."

Fred changed to Illyria. "I will destroy anyone that tries to harm our baby!" she said.

Klaus couldn't help but grin as Illyria's fierceness. "You will make a magnificent mother to our offspring," he said.

"Of course," she said with a haughty sniff. "You will have to end your relationship with Caroline. Fred's parents will not understand your involvement with a teenager while we're pregnant. It will be too upsetting for Fred, which she tells me is not good for the baby. Human pregnancies are fragile. While I am not exactly human, my baby is somewhat. Fred says we cannot know until the baby is born."

Klaus frowned, not liking what she was saying. "You want me to break it off with Caroline? That will hurt her, and you don't like when I hurt her," he said, hoping to sway her with reason.

"She is but a child compared to you and me," Illyria said. "You have the rest of your eternity to dally with her, do you not?"

Klaus knew she had a point. "Well, I suppose so," he admitted. He didn't like to think of putting space between him and Caroline, but this was a miracle. "Have you been to the doctor?"

"I am going tomorrow. Fred wanted to get a doctor confirmation before going to Texas to speak to her parents," Illyria said. "You will accompany her."

"And how will we explain you?" he asked, arching an eyebrow.

"Her parents are not like most mortals. They have slayed demons with her, and they were very accepting of Angel," Illyria said. "We did not tell them Fred was dead. I posed as Fred and fooled them instead. They are too trusting."

"So you plan on telling the truth?" he asked.

She turned into Fred again—how strange that he was no longer startled. "I don't know if you know this," she said. "But I was in a demon dimension for five years—Pylea. Humans were treated as cattle. Angel saved me."

"Of course, he did," Klaus said dryly.

"You have met Lorne? The singing demon?" she asked.

He nodded. "I have," he said.

"Well, Pylea is his home dimension. It was a horrible place of no music and no happiness—just constant suffering," she said. "I managed to disable to shock collar they put on me after a year. Then I lived alone in caves. My parents know this, so I think they'll be okay with your status as a magical vampire-werewolf hybrid."

"All right," he said. The woman was so unusual. She seemed so weak and human, but if she had survived a hell dimension, she was very strong. Quickly, he found his opinion of her rising. She would be a worthy mother to his offspring.

"My doctor's appointment is tomorrow—Dr. Fell," she said. "I've been told she is aware of what goes on in this town as she's a founding family—whatever that means."

"The town has a council of members of the oldest families," Klaus said. "They monitor vampire activity in this town and run everything."

"It's nice to have traditions," Fred said. "The appointment is at ten in the morning."

"Shall I pick you up at the Salvatore's?" he asked.

"If you don't mind," Fred said. "We could get breakfast and get to know each other if you would like to come at eight-thirty."

"I can do that," Klaus said. She gave him that shy smile of hers and then left.

His mother, who had not yet been carted off to England, came into the room. "Niklaus, who was at the door?" she asked. Willow had confined her to the house instead of just her room since she was human. Then she could take meals without inconveniencing everyone.

"It was Illyria," he said.

Esther frowned, unused to this look on her son's face. "What is amiss?" she asked.

"I have news," he said. "We must get everyone to come here immediately. Has Kol yet left for New Orleans?"

"He is leaving after lunch," she said.

"Will you call Rebekah? Tell her to come here right away?" he asked his mother.

"All right," she said. She went to the kitchen to use the house phone as she did not have one of those mobile phones her children had. All the numbers were conveniently attached to the fridge by something called a magnet.

"Elijah!" Klaus called out. "Kol!"

His brothers came to the top of stairs. "What is wrong, brother?" Elijah asked.

"I have news. Incredible, miraculous news," Klaus said. He pulled out his phone to text his hybrid.

"What is it?" Kol asked, following Elijah down the stairs.

"We must wait until Rebekah is here," Klaus said.

"It is good news?" Elijah asked.

"It is the best news I have ever gotten in my very long life," Klaus said, grinning.

"Seriously?" Kol asked. He glanced at Elijah, who looked puzzled.

"I am completely serious," Klaus said. "Illyria and her human counterpart, Fred were here."

"What does that mean?" Kol asked.

"Did you not speak with her at the wedding last night?" Klaus asked.

"The slayer brought so many delicious friends," Kol said with a grin. "They needed dance partners." He'd managed to bed at least three of them—one named Kitty was delectable.

"I hope you did not try to compel any of them," Elijah said with a disapproving frown.

"Of course not!" Kol said. "What's the fun in that? Not only did I not want the new scary green druid-witch-consort of Rebekah's to fillet me for trying that, but it's also not fun if I must coerce them! Besides, as a witch, I don't exactly have the same powers I once had as a vampire. Seduction is much more fun the old-fashioned way anyway, and there were so many slayers to choose from! There was one named Kitty that was particularly fun. I actually had a delicious time with three of them last night in total."

Klaus grinned. "You are a brave man," he said.

Esther returned. "Rebekah will be here soon," she said.

"You were about to explain about Illyria's human counterpart," Kol said, looking at Klaus.

"When Illyria was called back from the Deeper Well where she was trapped, her acolyte admired Angel's head of his science department and close friend Winifred Burkle," Elijah said. "She goes by Fred."

"Who told you that?" Klaus asked.

"Rupert explained it to me," Elijah said.

"The dolt decided that Fred would make a worthy vessel for a goddess he worshipped," Klaus said, taking over the story. "The ceremony killed Fred, liquefying her internal organs."

Esther blanched. "The poor soul," she murmured.

"They believed that her soul had been destroyed," Elijah said.

"That is why Angel would get so mad at Illyria for appearing as Fred—her vessel's form is how Illyria called it," Klaus said.

"Spike really hated it," Kol said, nodding in remembrance of the time in Los Angeles.

"Spike was made corporeal again by Fred," Elijah said. "Some mystical necklace was used to close the hellmouth. He wore it and was consumed. The necklace trapped his essence, so he was in a spirit form only. According to Rupert, Fred figured out how to make Spike corporeal again."

"Illyria says Fred is a genius unlike any other," Klaus said. "Somehow, Fred's soul wasn't destroyed, and our new druid merged Fred's soul back to her form."

"So Illyria has a human soul?" Kol asked, impressed.

"Yes, except because the body is Fred's, it's like they co-exist," Klaus said. "Fred is very different from Illyria, and she changes back and forth with ease. Fred shows up when things become too emotional or human. When there's a threat, Illyria will come. Either can be called up at will."

"I bet that's strange," Kol said.

"It is disconcerting," Klaus admitted. "However, the two are separate but not. One knows and hears what the other does, but Illyria is very protective of Fred already."

The front door opened, and Rebekah was there. "What's the big news?" she asked.

"I wanted to wait for my hybrid, but I will tell him later," Klaus said. "The news cannot wait."

"Well, what is it?" Kol asked.

"It's a true miracle," Klaus said, grinning. "Illyria, my goddess, is pregnant with my child."

"No way!" Kol said in disbelief.

Rebekah scoffed dismissively. "Impossible," she said.

"How can it be?" Elijah asked in awe.

"Fred says I am part werewolf, and not from the demon line of vampires she and her friends slay," Klaus said. "She also says that Angel had a son with another demon vampire like him because some higher power wanted it to be so. Maybe that is the case here. I do not know. I just know that I am going to be a father."

Elijah smiled. "This is wonderful, brother!" he said, hugging him.

"I can't believe it!" Rebekah said. "We are going to have a niece or nephew of our blood? This is wonderful! Isn't it, Mother?"

They all looked at Esther, who was shocked. "I-I don't know what to say as it is shocking news," she said. "However, I am happy that our line will carry on." No one noticed the look of concern or preoccupation on her face.

"I'm surprised you didn't already know," Klaus said to Rebekah. "Your lover is the one who placed the soul back in Illyria."

"She doesn't tell me everything," Rebekah said. "I do not know if she knew you had gotten Illyria pregnant."

"Our enemies won't like this," Kol said. "But I am very happy for all of us." He hugged his brother.

"Illyria is more powerful than anyone I have ever met except for the witch," Klaus said.

"She has a name, Nik. You need to use it," Rebekah said with a pointed glare.

Klaus just grinned. "Illyria is very fierce," he said, refusing to talk about his sister's lover.

Kol chuckled. "That's putting it mildly. She is always threatening to rip out people's spines," he said.

"Fred says that I have to go to Texas and meet her parents," Klaus shared.

Rebekah laughed. "You're going to do the meet the parents thing? Really? You and Illyria are not actually a couple, are you?" she asked.

"He's with Caroline," Kol said. He frowned. "What are you going to tell her?"

"Illyria says that I must put her aside until the baby is born as having a lover while Fred is pregnant will stress her out, and stress is not good for the baby," Klaus said.

"It's not," Rebekah agreed.

"And you would heed Illyria?" Esther asked in surprise.

"I trust her, and she is right when she says I have years to dally with Caroline," Klaus said. "She will be hurt, but I hope she will forgive me."

"Your baby and Illyria must be your priority," Elijah said in agreement.

"I also don't want to anger Illyria as she is unpredictable," Klaus said. "She could decide to kill Caroline if Fred gets too upset."

"I thought she liked Caroline?" Kol said.

"She does, but Illyria is not human. Sentiment doesn't go very far with her," Klaus said. "As Caroline is not human, her counterpart might not restrain her from doing so."

"Are you going to stay in Texas?" Rebekah asked him.

"I know not," Klaus said. "I believe Illyria's home is in Los Angeles. Caroline is considering schools in that city, so I would prefer that."

"A woman needs their mother when she has a baby," Esther said.

"I cannot imagine that Illyria will be much comfort to her," Rebekah said.

"It was Illyria I copulated with, not Fred," Klaus said. "It is Illyria who has my allegiance. The woman saved me from hell. She stood with us against our mother, and she has proven herself to be someone that I can both trust and count on."

"Willow likes her," Rebekah said. "But she also likes Fred."

"You have two women for the price of one, brother," Kol said, shaking his head. "Only you could manage such a feat."

"It is strange, but then again, when hasn't our life been strange?" Klaus asked with a grin. "Becoming a father after a thousand years is the strangest thing of all."

"This is cause for celebration!" Elijah said, smiling.

"I will make dinner tonight," Esther said. "Bring your partners. Invite Illyria."

"That's a great idea," Klaus said. "Oz and his werewolf with be there."

"Isn't his wolf leaving with Xander and me?" Elijah asked. "We are heading out tomorrow. Giles is taking half the slayers this afternoon as Buffy and Mr. Saltzman have left for Mexico or are leaving this morning sometime."

"Is she allowed to fly while pregnant?" Kol asked.

"I believe it is only in the last trimester that travel is discouraged," Elijah said.

"Why do you call Buffy by her first name, brother, and Alaric by his last name?" Kol wondered.

Elijah shrugged. "Alexander speaks of Buffy so much that I feel as if I know her quite well. I do not feel the same about her new husband," he said.

"Well, I once lived in the man's body," Klaus said. "He's not so bad for a human. Is he not one of us now?"

"Will was over at Buffy's this morning," Rebekah said. "He didn't want to risk hurting Buffy, so he is human again."

"As am I and my sister," Kol said. "Just think, we, too, can have children one day."

"We should try to have children within a few years, so that Nik's child will have cousins close to his age," Rebekah said.

"You know your lover is female," Kol said with a smirk. "How shall you get pregnant? Can your lover do that? She made us human, so who knows?"

Rebekah frowned. "I have no idea, but before she was changed, she said that the world now has something called sperm banks where men donate their male producing parts for money," she said.

Kol looked shocked and horrified. "Men do that? Sell their sperm? This world has really gone bonkers!" he said.

"How about we not worry about Rebekah's future offspring just yet but focus on Niklaus?" Elijah suggested. He knew that Xander had often thought Willow would ask him to donate his sperm, and he knew Anya would not have been okay with that. It was entirely possible for the witch to make Xander human, and then he could be a vampire again if he chose. The idea had merit and would make Xander and his girls very happy. Of course, if Rebekah were to one day carry Xander's child, then their baby would be a true Mikaelson. The idea filled Elijah with tremendous hope for their future.

The front door opened, and Oz made an appearance.

"Your timing is perfect," Kol said. "Nik has great news for once."

"Oh, yeah?" Oz asked, looking at Klaus. "What's up?"

"I am going to be a father," he said.

"Really?" Oz asked. "That's surprising, but great news. Who is the lucky woman?"

"Illyria," Klaus said.

"Interesting," Oz said with a nod.

"What are your plans?" Klaus asked Oz. "Are you returning to England with your wolf?"

"I would like to," Oz said. "For a while."

Klaus nodded. "I understand," he said. "Illyria is insisting I break things off with Caroline while she's pregnant, and the thought is very upsetting."

"I will come when the baby is born or if you need me," Oz told him. He held out his hand.

Klaus resigned himself to his hybrid's loss but was grateful for his friendship. He put his hand his Oz's and pulled him in for a hug. "And if you need me, I will come to you," Klaus told him.

Elijah was making some plans of his own. "Niklaus, I must go find Alexander and give him our good news," he said. "We will work out something with Rupert, so that we can join you and Illyria in Los Angeles. I don't want you to go through this alone."

Klaus felt relieved. "Thank you, brother," he said.

Elijah left, hoping they could work out something as he knew Xander loved being with his slayers.

******A Bit Later******

Buffy was saying goodbye to her sister, Giles, and friends as it was time to leave for her and Rick's honeymoon in Mexico. She was excited.

"I can't believe we're going to get five whole days of fun in the sun," she said, leaning against her new husband.

"That's three days in the sun and two days touring ancient Aztec sites," Rick reminded her with a grin.

"They just better not be haunted or full of demons or vamps," Buffy said. "There will be no slaying on this trip!"

Willow and Xander groaned. "Now you went and jinxed yourself, Buff," Xander said.

Dawn went to the door when the doorbell rang, and she smiled at Elijah. "Did you come to see Buffy off?" she asked.

"Yes, and to share my good news," Elijah said.

"Did you say good news?" Xander said, looking toward the front door as he saw his lover come into view.

"Your new bat hearing is freaky," Buffy said.

Xander just smirked and watched Elijah come into the room. "Is the happy couple ready to leave?" Elijah asked.

"Yep. All ready," Buffy said with a happy grin. "Can I hear your good news before I go?"

"Of course," Elijah said. "I'm still reeling." He glanced at Willow. "You probably already know this, but Illyria just told Niklaus that she is pregnant with his baby."

Everyone in the room had looks of disbelief.

"No f***ing way!" Faith exclaimed.

"That's awesome!" Dawn said. "I love babies. Buffy's baby will have a baby his own age to play with!"

Elijah smiled at the unlikeliness of the slayer wanting her baby to play with his brother's but said nothing. "Yes, we are very excited," he said.

"How is that possible?" Buffy asked.

"You took the words out of my mouth," Xander said.

Everyone looked at Willow, who shrugged. "It is in Gaia's plans. Illyria was very discombobulated with Fred's spirit haunting her, and I knew that if she had Fred back, the pregnancy would be easier on her," Willow said.

"Alexander, I was wondering if we could speak to Rupert in private," he asked the two men.

"Of course," Giles said, giving Buffy one last hug.

When they went into Buffy's study that was Giles' room when he was in town, Giles sat down and offered them a seat. "How can I help?" Giles asked.

"I was wanting to discuss the possibility of starting a slayer house in America that Alexander and I would run," Elijah said.

Giles nodded. "That is a fine idea. We have several girls who are growing restless as there's not enough to do in England," he said.

"I am sorry, Alexander for not discussing this with you in private first, but I know we are set to leave in just a few hours," Elijah said. "With Niklaus' change in circumstances, I do not feel right leaving him as Mother will be going to England and Kol to New Orleans. Rebekah will stay here in Mystic Falls."

"That's okay," Xander said. "Being an uncle will rock! What kind of baby will Illyria have? Human? Werewolf? Whatever the hell Illyria is?"

Elijah smiled. "I know not, but the baby will grow up powerful," he said. "Illyria is making Klaus go to Texas in the next few days to tell her parents Fred is pregnant."

Xander laughed. "Oh, I would so love to see that!" he said.

"Do you believe Illyria will want to stay in Los Angeles with Angel?" Giles asked.

"I believe Winifred, her counterpart, is very fond of Angel and Spike," Elijah said.

"So what do you purpose?" he asked Elijah.

"I believe Niklaus and I can find an appropriately large estate to house our growing family and several slayers in Los Angeles if that is where she wants to live as I suspect," Elijah said.

"Los Angeles has tons of obscenely priced houses of the stars," Xander said.

"The Council has funds," Giles said.

"It would be best to be in your name, so that no unwanted vampire can be allowed to enter," Elijah said.

"We can rotate one or two slayers to work directly with Angel as Illyria won't be able to help the guys as much since she's pregnant," Xander said.

"I know it will be difficult for Illyria," Elijah said. "I do believe having several slayers around to distract her and spar with her will keep her centered."

"That's a good point," Giles said. "Do you and Xander want to head to Los Angeles and begin looking at locations? Speak to Angel. He is now a conduit for the Powers That Be, and we can help him with that—or rather you can while in his city."

"If we find a big enough place, we can send out teams on weekends to San Francisco and other large cities on the coast," Xander said. "The girls will like that."

"I will speak to the girls when we return home, and they can train hard for the privilege of going to Los Angeles," Giles said. This would be a way to help with the discipline. "I have put Vi and Rona in charge of the training as they are the most experienced now that Kennedy is gone."

"That's a good idea," Xander said. "Send us a witch. One that isn't British 'cause the British ones are way too strait-laced." He winked.

"Sure, Xander, I'll get right on that," Giles said sourly. He was excited, though, to think of expanding to the west coast in America as things were a bit crowded at their headquarters.

"I will make travel arrangements," Elijah said to Xander.

"Please keep in touch," Giles said. "I will go speak to Faith about this as she might have some ideas who would fit with the new house."

After he left, Xander said, "I bet you are so stoked right now."

Elijah smiled. "My family is everything. Mother might be better with us in Los Angeles, but I think keeping her with Rupert and his coven in England will be best until the baby is born," he said.

"I still think she is best wherever Willow is 'cause she scares the hell out of me, and I grew up on a hellmouth," Xander said with a shudder.

"Willow knows what she is doing as she has marked our mother," Elijah said. "She can get into Mother's mind at will."

"Really? How do you know that?" Xander said.

"I heard her complaining about it to Rebekah," Elijah said. "Are you really all right with staying with Niklaus?"

"Of course," Xander said. "It's your family, and now your family is my family. My family is yours."

Elijah smiled. "As dysfunctional as that may be," he said.

His family would grow and remain strong, and they would be united.

Always.

*****Chapter End*****

I'm not sure there's too many interested in this sequel, but I always wanted to finish it as a pregnant Illyria was just too funny for me not write. I wrote 5 chapters a few years ago, but I realized that if I didn't start posting it, no more would ever get written. I hope you enjoy reading it. Review and let me know! Thanks!
