Chapter One: The First Blood
Blue's POV
I caught up with my friends before it was time to go to sleep. We were all still shocked to hear what situation we've gotten ourselves into. We headed to Rainer's dorm, which was right next to mine coincidentally, so we could talk in private. We had no idea how to start our conversation. Rainer broke the silence and said, "S-So are you guys doing alright. I don't know if I'm ok.". "Of course not! We've been tricked to enter a game where we can DIE! How can anyone be OK?!" said Jolt, he sounded very stressed. I don't blame him for being stressed right now, I'm freaking out too but I'm doing my best to stay calm.
(Edit: I feel like I should've added this before but forgot. Here's the dorm order. it goes Rocky, Rainer, Blue, Red Yoshi, Mr. Krabs, Jolt, Flame, Skylar, Rubble, Zeke, Purple, Flappy, Tails, Sonic, Kamek, Kenny, Carrie, and Ender.)
"Jolt, please calm down. Freaking out isn't gonna help us right now!" Rainer said while trying to be reasonable. Jolt stated, "Sis, I'm sorry but it's hard for me to stay calm in a situation where you or Flame can get killed! I don't want to lose you two! I also don't want anything bad happening to Blue as well!". Flame asked worriedly, "What about you? Do you care if you get hurt or worse?". Jolt replied, "Of course Flame. I don't want to get hurt but I prefer it to be me then the people I care about!". One thing people love about Jolt is his loyalty. Even though he gets himself and Flame into trouble with his 'good ideas', he only wants to do good, and be there for the people he cares about.
I said to try to calm us all down, "Guys let's not talk like one of us is gonna end up hurt! I know we can get through this together if we just stay calm!". Rainer joined in by saying, "Blue is right! If we want to make it through this alive, we gotta stay calm! We've made it out of deadly problems before, remember?". I honestly don't know every deadly situation my pack has been through before, since I'm the newest member and I missed out on most of them. Flame asked, "Ok what should we do?".
I suggested, "Maybe we can build trust with the other students. If they trust us then it's less likely they'd want to kill us.". Rainer asked, "Good idea but who should we trust?". Jolt said, "I'm not gonna play buddy buddy with that Duck! Not after how he treated us today!". Rainer said, "You don't have to. I honestly don't trust him either.". She grabbed her tablet, turned it on and said, "We should head to bed now. My tablet says it's almost 10pm. Good night guys! Please stay safe and cautious.". I didn't even know it was that late. What time did I wake up? Anyway, we said our goodnights and headed off to our dorms. I'm scared of what type of announcements we'll be getting tomorrow but I know I can get through this! I got in my bed and closed my eyes. The day has finally ended.
I woke up and I started to look around my surroundings. I was scared and said, "W-Where am I?! This isn't my room?!". Then I realized that my dream last night was sadly not a nightmare. "Oh right, the killing game." I said while I put my right paw on my forehead. The dorm rooms aren't really decorative. On the far left corner there is a medium sized bed that is so uncomfortable. I don't think I'll ever get a good night's sleep for a while. On the opposite side of the room, there's just a small wooden desk and a small wooden chair. They could've made the dorms more comfortable and decorative for the students if they are forcing them to live there. At least the dorms have private bathrooms. The exact opposite side of the entrance to the dorms, there should be a door closer to the right corner that leads to the bathroom. The private bathroom is actually pretty nice. It is a lot nicer than the actual dorms themselves.
Suddenly, my doorbell rang. I was nervous to let them in but it could be one of my friends. I opened the door with my handbook tablet and luckily it's just Rainer. I breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Good Morning. How'd you sleep?". She said, "Most likely the same as you.". I chuckled a little because I knew what her answer was after she said that. She could probably tell I was scared and tired that morning. I didn't do a good job hiding it, even though I wasn't. Then Monokuma made an morning announcement telling everyone it's time to get up. Something tells me that's gonna be an everyday thing. Rainer told me, "Flame is most likely gonna head to the kitchen to cook everyone breakfast. So let's head to the dining room". I asked, "What about Jolt?". Rainer responded, "He's most likely with Flame to help him out or to make sure no one kills him. Trust me, I know my brothers.". I trusted her and I followed her to the dining room.
When we arrived we saw Ender, Carrie, Zeke, Kenny, Purple, Sonic, Tails, Mr. Krabs, Flappy, Kamek, Red Yoshi, and Rocky all having conversations with each other. I also saw the rockruff sitting away from everyone by himself. Me and Rainer went up to everyone to see what's up and join in on the conversation. Zeke asked, "So if Purple is your nickname, what's your real name?". Purple responded, "That's classified information you suspicious… uh… thing!". Kamek said, "Nice comeback Purple.". Purple yelled, "SHUT UP!". That made Kenny chuckle.
Ender and Carrie noticed me and Rainer, and then Carrie said, "Blue! Rainer! Good morning! How'd you guys sleep?". Rainer said, "Not that good. I'm guessing it's the same with everyone here.". Mr. Krabs responded with "These beds are cheaper than the ones I found online.". Sonic said,"I think Rocky was the only one who looked like they had a good sleep last night,". Tails told him, "Probably because he is always smiling, Sonic. I've never seen him make a different face at all. Even during Monokuma's announcement yesterday.". Red Yoshi asked, "Did he even talk to anyone at all? All he did was show me his note with his name and ultimate.". Everyone who interacted with Rocky all said no. I'm really curious about Rocky even more now.
Kamek turned to Red Yoshi to question him, "So Red Yoshi, what's with the fake goatee?". I said, "Wait, that isn't real?". Kamek said, "No it isn't. Yoshis can't grow stuff like goatees due to their scales.". Red Yoshi responded, "I'm sorry that I always wanted a goatee! Any more questions from the evil wizard over here?". Kamek said "Yeah. What is with your eyes? They don't look like normal Yoshi eyes.". Sonic decided to break this up by saying, "Ok Kamek let's stop judging and questioning Red Yoshi over here.". I wanted to switch the topic and asked, "Where is Skylar? I don't see him here at all.".
Ender replied with, "Well one reason is that Skylar doesn't need to eat, since he's just a skeleton, and the other reason is he and Zeke hate each other so much. They get into fights a lot and Skylar didn't want to be around Zeke right now.". That's what Skylar meant by 'It's a nice change since I fight with a certain someone here all the time'. Then I decided to ask something else, "Why is Rubble over there by himself?". Tails said, "We tried to invite him to our conversation but he said he prefers to be alone.". Ender was looking at the Rockruff like he thinks the pokemon is suspicious. Flame and Jolt came in with three big trays worth of pancakes. Flame said "Everyone dig in!". I gave Rubble a plate of pancakes and we all had breakfast. Everyone seemed to enjoy the pancakes Flame and Jolt prepared for us. Fun fact, all recipes Flame makes are made by him himself. After everyone was done we heard an announcement by Monokuma, "Everyone report back to the gym. It's time for your first big announcement!". He's saying that like yesterday's announcement wasn't big at all. We all headed to the gym.
Everyone was waiting for Monokuma in the gym. Some were not happy and impatient while others were worried and scared. I was with the group who were worried and scared. Monkuma popped out of nowhere again and landed on the same podium as yesterday. He playfully said, "Hello students! Are you ready to hear the announcements?". Zeke said what everyone's answer was (I bet) which was no. Monokuma said, "Too bad! Now after every class trial-". Skylar interrupted by asking, "Class trial?". Monokuma said, "I'll explain class trials when the time comes. The day after every class trial, I'll reveal a new motive!". I nervously asked, "What do you mean b-by m-motive?". Monokuma explained, "I'll be giving you all motives to help encourage you to murder one of your classmates. The motive is limited time. Once a class trial ends, the motive is no longer active and like I said the next day I'll announce a new one. There should be a motive file in your handbooks to remind you what the motive is and to tell you some information about the motive that might only be for your eyes.".
With this new information, I started to sweat because I knew that we're about to get our first motive. Why else would he be telling us about motives? Flappy asked, "So is our first motive the big announcement?". Monokuma said, " YES, IT IS! Isn't it exciting?". No one replied. Monokuma continued, "Everyone check the motive file in your e-handbooks right now!". I looked at the file and it says. "Motive #1: Secrets! Read below to find out who's secret you've received!". What in the world is this? Is he revealing our secrets?! Jolt asked, "What is this?". Monokuma said, "It's your motive silly! You've received another student's secret, and another student has received yours. You can decide what to do with the secret. Share it, keep it, use it for blackmail, anything you want.".
Ender asked, "How in the world did you get our secrets?". Flame asked, "Also how does this encourage someone to kill?". Monokuma explained, "To answer the first question, I have my ways. To the second question, These secrets could be very dark, very personal or very embarrassing! Enough for you to do anything in your power to make sure the world doesn't find out. Even murdering a fellow classmate.". Luckily I haven't done anything bad or embarrassing enough for this to affect me but I have a gut feeling that someone else is going to do something bad.
Monokuma said, "Now that you have your motive, I'm going to let the chaos rise and let you guys go on with your day. Catch ya later!". Just like yesterday, he jumped and disappeared out of nowhere. I looked in my handbook to check out the secret I've received. Normally I'd respect others' privacy but I feel if I don't check it out at least once, Monokuma might punish me. The person who I received was Rubble. The only person who I don't know what their ultimate is yet. As soon as I read his secret, my eyes widened with shock. Just by looking at Rubble I could tell he was a kid, like Kenny, and Tails. I just wasn't expecting this to be his secret.
I started to walk out, until Ender called me over to him. It is weird since I've never seen him without Carrie before. He was standing by the gym bleachers. I walked over to him to see what was up. I feel like I could trust Ender, he seems like a calm and reasonable person. A nice guy to talk to. I said, "Hey is everything ok?". Hoping nothing bad was about to happen. Ender said, "Yeah nothing bad happened but I want to know if I could trust you Blue?". I jokingly said, "Do I seem not trustworthy to you right now?". I was trying to lift the mood up a little. He said to me, "No it's not like that. I feel like I can trust you but I want to make sure. You seem like a good guy.". I don't think he caught on to it as a joke question.
I told him, "Hey I was just joking with that question. I wanted to lift up the mood in the room. Yes you can trust me. I will never harm a soul in my life. No matter what motive is thrown at me.". Ender sighed in relief and said, "Good. Can I talk to you about that Rubble kid?". I'm guessing it was obvious to everyone that Rubble is a kid. I told him sure and he said to me, "I think he's hiding something big about this game.". I asked him what he meant by that statement and he said, "Remember when he told us about the bomb in Monokuma yesterday when Zeke wanted to beat Monokuma up so badly?". I told him, "Yeah I remember that.". He said, "Last night I looked through every single file in this tablet and did not find one thing about the bomb in Monokuma. How did the kid find out about that?". I honestly didn't think about that until now. He warned me to be careful around Rubble and then he left to go check in on Carrie.
With everything Ender told me, it makes sense with Rubble's secret. Later I'm planning on talking to Rubble about all of this in private. For now I'm gonna try to make bonds with the other students. As I was walking I saw Rainer talking with Sonic and Tails in the dining room. Also Flame and Jolt talking with Zeke and Purple in the trophy room. Which is basically a room with one large trophy case filled with trophies. Honestly I think those trophies are fake. I decided to talk to Red Yoshi who was talking with Kenny and Flappy in the hallway near the dorms. I know Flappy isn't kind but I think getting to know him might help us all. Plus he can understand Kenny better than anyone else here.
"Aw great Miss Ribbons is here." said Flappy. Red Yoshi said "C'mon man don't disrespect her.". "Um, I'm a boy." I said in an annoyed tone. I'm used to this misunderstanding by now but it's still insulting that people keep thinking that all sylveons are girls. Red Yoshi said, "Oh I'm sorry for calling you a girl. Flappy, don't disrespect this cool guy.". I appreciated Red Yoshi being respectable but sadly I can't say the same for everyone else there. Kenny mumbled something to Flappy. It might be easier to understand him if he doesn't keep his mouth covered all the time. I'm curious how he is able to breathe in that hood. "Yeah I don't care about what gender you claim to be. What do you want?" said Flappy. I wanted to walk away but getting to know stuff about people here and forming bonds is important right now.
I told them that I just wanted to chat with them and luckily Kenny and Red Yoshi were up for it. Kenny was the only reason why Flappy stayed, I think those two are becoming good friends. If Kenny wasn't there, I bet he would have left by now. After talking with them, I have gotten to know them a little more. Flappy is trying to be the best Flyer in the world. Which is the reason why he joined the school, he was hoping the school could help him learn more about teaching students. In my opinion, he needs to learn how to treat people. Red Yoshi's goal is to be a world famous actor. He heard about the drama department in this school and thought it would be a great chance to show off his skills to elite judges. Kenny was just chosen out of luck. He lives in a place called South Park, and his family isn't doing well in wealth. So he thought if he accepted this invitation to this school it might change things around for them. I feel bad for Kenny. I hope his family gets on their feet one day. I told them about how my pack didn't apply here and how me and three of them wanted to talk with the headmaster to clear some things up.
I felt like I started a bond with Red Yoshi and Kenny. I think Flappy didn't really care about me at all. We talked for at least three hours until I got hungry. "Hey I'm gonna get myself some lunch. I'll catch you guys later." I told them. Flappy said, "Finally she's leaving.". Red Yoshi slapped him as soon as he said that. Red Yoshi then said, "Ok man, Later!". I think Kenny mumbled, "See you later!". It was hard to tell. I headed towards the kitchen to make myself a sandwich.
When I entered the kitchen I saw Rubble going through the fridge. Now is my perfect chance to ask him about his secret. Once I said hi to him, he jumped and hit his head on something in the fridge. "Ow, What the- What do you want?!" he aggressively said. I calmly said "I just wanna talk. No need for aggressiveness. You can trust me. I would never hurt anyone, especially kids like you.". I was hoping I could get him to calm down but he was still giving me a glare. "If this is about me distancing myself from people then I don't care!" he said. "No, I just want to know about the last game." I said. As soon as he heard what I said, his expression changed so quickly. He was stunned for around 10 seconds until he went back to being aggressive and said "I-I don't know what you're talking about! LEAVE ME ALONE!". He ran out of the kitchen as soon as he was done talking. That kid clearly has a lot of stuff troubling him. I want to protect and help him as much as I can. Even if he doesn't trust me, I want to help him. I won't let anything hurt or harm him.
I made my ham and cheese sandwich and headed to the dining room to eat it. When I entered I was greeted by Rainer, Sonic, and Tails. "Hey Blue! What's up?" asked Sonic. "Nothing much. Just trying to distract myself from this killing gamesituation. What about you guys?" I said before I took a bite of my sandwich. Rainer said, "Sonic and Tails was telling me about their adventures back at their home. You should hear their stories.". "We fight an evil engineer who makes robots powered by innocent forest animals who don't want to be part of it." said Tails. Sonic added, "His name is Dr. Robotnik but we mostly call him Dr. Eggman or Egghead.". Sonic and Tails chuckled after Sonic said that. I didn't get what was funny so I asked, "Why do you call him Eggman?". They said that he was shaped like an egg. The name makes more sense now. We spent some time hearing about their adventures. They were really interesting and it would be great video game material too.
"So basically the death egg is like the death star from Star Wars?" I asked. Tails and Sonic looked so confused and Sonic asked, "What's Star Wars?". I'm guessing they don't have the movie back at their home. Rainer answered, "It's a very popular movie series.". Tails said, "Never heard of it.". Through the slightly opened door I could see Jolt and Flame walking to the kitchen. I'm guessing it's around dinner time. That means everyone will soon arrive. As time went on everyone soon arrived for dinner. Everyone except for Skylar and Rubble. I felt like I grew closer with Sonic and Tails today.
Purple said, "Where's orange and yellow with the food.". Rainer asked, "Do you mean Flame and Jolt?". Purple said, "Yeah them. Sorry I don't know their names.". Zeke said, "You were in a conversation with me and them like 20 minutes ago.". Purple said, "I don't pay attention to names Green.". I'm guessing I'm the only one who he'll get the name right on. I asked, "Wasn't Mr. Krabs here with us like five minutes ago?". Kamek said, "He went to the kitchen to talk with Flame I believe.". Rainer asked me, "Hey can you check in on them to see if they're alright?". I nodded yes and headed for the kitchen.
When I entered I found Mr. Krabs talking to Flame while he was at the stove, cooking. Flame looked annoyed. Also surprisingly Skylar was helping Jolt get ingredients for Flame. I walked up to Jolt and Skylar to ask what was going on. Jolt said "Hey Blue what's up?". "Nothing much, what's going on here?" I asked. Jolt said, "Just trying to help Flame out. Then Skylar came in and asked if he could help too.". Skylar added, "I thought I could do something nice to show people that I'm not bad and hopefully they won't kill me.". Jolt then continued, "After that, Mr. Krabs wanted to talk to Flame. So me and Skylar are just getting more ingredients for tonight's dinner.".
I said, "Ok thanks for letting me know. I'm gonna see how things are going with Flame.". Jolt said, "Have fun.". I walked over to Flame and Mr. Krabs. Mr. Krabs was saying to Flame, "C'mon working for me as a second chef would benefit both of us.". Flame responded, "Sorry but I'm not interested. Plus with you being the 'Ultimate Cheapskate', I doubt the pay is good. Please leave me to cook dinner.". Mr. Krabs said, "I bet your food would be popular at the Krusty Krab! Well maybe not as popular as a krabby patty but still think of the money!". I stepped in and said, "Hey Mr. Krabs, is it ok if you go and help set up the table? Flame needs to focus right now.". I wanted it to sound as polite as possible, so he wouldn't get angry with us. Mr. Krabs sighed and said, "You're right. I should let the lad focus on his cooking. See ya lot later.". Mr. Krabs grabbed the plates and utensils and left the kitchen.
Flame made a sigh of relief and said, "Thank you Blue for dealing with that. He doesn't seem like a bad guy but I think he only cares about money. So how are you?". I said, "I'm good! So what is for dinner?". He told me that he was making his famous lasagna. We are in for a treat tonight, his lasagna is one of the best lasagnas I have ever tasted. He told me to go back to the dining room and dinner will be out shortly. So I headed back to the dining room.
When I entered the dining room, everyone was talking like they were earlier. Only one thing changed, Rubble was in the room. He was sitting in the same seat from this morning. When he saw me, he looked away so fast. He most likely doesn't know how to feel about me knowing his secret. We basically just talked until Flame, Jolt and Skylar came out with dinner. After we all ate, me and Rainer just spent the rest of the day hanging out.
It's now 9pm and we were hanging out in my room. We heard the doorbell and I opened the door. It was Flame and Jolt. They came in and joined our conversation. Rainer asked, "Hey guys. How was your day?". Jolt said, "It was good. Just wanted to end today with you two.". Flame asked, "So what do you guys think of our 'classmates'?". I said, "Flappy is a jerk. I got to know Kenny and Red Yoshi more. Red Yoshi is pretty cool.". Rainer said, "I got to know a lot about Sonic and Tails. Also I had a little talk with Mr. Krabs. He apparently has a daughter.". I asked, "Is it a boy or a girl crab?". Rainer said, "A teenage whale who is a girl.". How is a whale his daughter? Maybe he adopted her? I don't know. Flame said, "Yeah Mr. Krabs is interesting. We hung out with Zeke and Purple. Purple is kinda weird and creepy. Zeke seems chill, even though there was a point today where he fought with Skylar for 10 minutes straight. We tried to stop it but it was like they couldn't hear us at all.".
Jolt asked us, "So who did you guys get?". I confusingly asked, "What do you mean Jolt?". He said, "For the motive. Who did you guys get?". Rainer said, "I don't feel comfortable sharing other people's secrets Jolt!". Jolt said, "You don't have to say what their secret is. I just want to know who you guys got?". I asked, "Are you sure it's a good idea to share?". Jolt said, "I don't see the harm in it. It'll stay between us four. I'll start, I got Sonic.". Flame said, "I got Ender.". Rainer hesitantly said, "I got Kamek.". I also hesitantly said, "I-I got Rubble.". Jolt said, "You got the mysterious kid?! I wonder what his secret is?". Flame said, "I doubt it's gonna be anything bad or embarrassing.". Rainer jokingly said, "Embarrassing like your secrets?". Jolt and Flame started to blush out of embarrassment.
It's nice to see a bond between siblings like those three have. If only they knew what his secret is. Maybe they'd understand why I was hesitant to say who I got. But hearing the trio enjoying themselves right now is nice. Rainer yawned and then said, "I think it's time for me to go to bed.". Jolt said, "We're going to bed too. Flame wants to get up early tomorrow so he can get an early start on breakfast and I want to help him.". I asked, "Can I help you with breakfast tomorrow too?". I have an idea on what tomorrow's breakfast should be and I know how to make it. Flame said, "Sure! Me and Jolt will wake you up tomorrow then.". We said our goodnights and then they left my room. After they left I went to bed and closed my eyes. Ending another day.
It was morning and the sound of my doorbell woke me up. I got up and opened my door to reveal Flame and Jolt. I almost forgot I wanted to help with this morning's breakfast. I checked the time and it was 7:10am. I'm guessing the morning announcement waits a couple minutes to appear. Flame said, "Good morning, how are you?". I said, "Ok I guess. I'm gonna get ready real quick if that's cool.". Flame said, "That's cool! We'll wait for you out here.". I closed the door and headed to my dorm's bathroom. The Dorms might be not comfortable or decorative but the bathrooms are nice. I got ready and then I met them in the hallway. We headed towards the kitchen at 7:30am. When we arrived, I… I… I couldn't believe my eyes. The sight left a chill in my spine. The faces on Jolt and Flame were the same as mine. S-S-Someone was d-dead in the kitchen!
