Chapter Two: Greed is Dangerous
Blue's POV
We got out of the elevator and headed to the dining room, except for me, Flame and Jolt. Us three headed towards the kitchen so we could make dinner. When we entered the kitchen, I asked, "Are you guys ok?". Jolt said, "I don't know. That stupid duck could've got me or Flame killed!". Flame said, "I can't unsee Flappy's death! I can't get my mind off the whole case in general! Thank you Blue.". I asked, "Thank you? What are you thanking me for?". Flame said, "You saved me and Jolt from being framed by Flappy!". Jolt said, "You also saved everyone from being executed as well.". I said, "I can't take all the credit! Everyone here helped gather all the clues! Plus if Ender didn't remind me about the rules, I don't know if we could've cleared your names.". Jolt said, "Yeah, we're planning on thanking him too!".
We spent some time making dinner. Tonight's dinner was meatball subs. When we made all 15 subs, we headed towards the dining room. When we entered, the room was tense. I was expecting everyone to be scared, mad or both. Red Yoshi asked, "So Rocky, why don't you talk most of the time?". Rocky sat there in silence. Red Yoshi said, "I'm guessing he isn't gonna answer me.". Kamek asked, "Does anyone know if he is a kid or not? Because he sounds younger than Rubble and Tails.". Zeke said, "How can we tell if he is a boy?". Ender said, "It said it on his name tag on day one Zeke.". Flame said, "Dinner is here! Everyone dig in!".
Rainer asked, "Hey Flame, Jolt you guys ok?". They both said that they were ok. Ender stood up and said, "I know that we witnessed a lot and been through a lot today. But I would like to make a toast to the one who solved the case and saved our lives! Let's hear it for Blue!". Everyone began to clap and I felt a little uneasy. I said, "Um. Thank you everyone but I don't deserve all of the credit. I couldn't have done it without all of you! You guys helped me find all of the clues! Especially Ender! If he didn't remind me about the rules, we wouldn't have been able to clear Jolt's or Flame's names.". "I still can't believe someone could stoop so low to keep such a dumb secret." said Carrie. Jolt said, "I don't want to talk about that murderer anymore!". After we ate, we just mind our own business for the rest of the night. I wanted to be alone in my room to consume what happened that day. Then I went to sleep and ended the day.
I woke up to the morning wake up call by Monokuma. It was 7:00 am, I'm guessing because of the murder yesterday the announcement never came. Or I slept through it. My doorbell then rang. I opened it to see Rainer. I said, while rubbing my right eye, "Hey Rainer, good morning! What's up?". Rainer said, "You got to check out what Ender discovered!". I asked, "What did he discover?". Rainer said, "The staircase to the second floor is unlocked!". That must be the staircase we found before Monokuma called us to the gym on day one. I asked, "It's unlocked?". Rainer said, "Yeah everyone is exploring it while Flame and Jolt are making breakfast. Wanna check it out with me?". I said, "Sure! Just let me get ready first.". I got ready and then I followed Rainer to the second floor.
The first room we walked in was the pool changing rooms and then the pool room. In the center of the room there was a giant pool. Purple, and Skylar was standing on the side of the pool. While Mr. Krabs is under the water. Purple asked, "Anything in the pool Red?". Skylar asked, "Dude why is it hard for you to remember everyone's names? Anyway, yeah do you see anything useful?". Mr. Krabs came up from the water and said, "There is nothing but water down there.".
Rainer said, "Awesome a pool!". Skylar said, "Hey guys!". I said, "I'm guessing there isn't anything useful in the pool.". Mr. Krabs said, "I just looked and there was nothing but water there lad.". Purple said, "Nothing in the changing rooms. Or at least the boys since we couldn't check the girls.". Skylar said, "We told you that boys checking the girls' changing room is wrong!". Rainer said, "Ignoring that, we're gonna check out the other rooms now.". Skylar said, "Have fun!".
The next room we entered was a library. Kamek, and Red Yoshi were looking through the books on the bookshelves. Kamek said, "This floor has a lot fewer rooms than the first floor.". Red Yoshi said, "Yeah the first floor might have to be the biggest floor in this school with the AV room, nurses office, you should've checked out the school's shop.". I didn't even know about those rooms. I guess I should explore the rest of the first floor soon. Rainer said, "Hey guys!". Carrie said, "Hey Blue and Rainer!". Kamek said, "You should check out these books. They're pretty old and outdated.". I asked, "Do you think any of these books can help us out?'. Kamek said, "No, not these ones at least.". Red Yoshi said, "Ender and Carrie were with us earlier. They checked out the archive over there. Ender walked out with a book and said, 'I'll let you know if any of these books are useful when I'm done reading them' I think he is gonna read all of those books.". Kamek added, "Or at least when he finds a useful book.". Rainer said, "Well we're gonna check out the other rooms. Have fun you guys.".
We walked out of the library and headed back towards the pool because we knew there was some stuff we missed. We went to the library first because it was the only double door room on this floor. Before we entered a room, we saw Zeke trying to open a door while Rubble watched. Rubble said, "C'mon Zeke it won't open!". Zeke said, "I know I can force it open!". Rubble said, "Just like the door to this floor, this door is locked!". I went up to them and asked, "What is going on?". Rubble said, "Ultimate Hunter here is trying to open a locked door.". Rainer asked, "Where does it lead?". Rubble said, "To a staircase. I'm guessing it's the next floor.". I said, "Hey Rubble are you doing alri-". Rubble said, "I don't want to talk about it! Especially since I was almost framed for murder just like the leader's brothers! Please leave me alone!".
Me and Rainer looked at each other and listened to him. We walked away and entered a room. The room we entered was a classroom and Sonic, Tails and Rocky were in it. Tails said, "Just like the classrooms down stairs, the windows are blocked by metal plates.". Sonic said, "And there are also cameras too.". I said, "Reminds me of the classroom I woke up in.". Sonic said, "What's up Blue and Rainer! How are you guys?". Rainer said, "Good. Did you guys find anything?". Tails said, "No, nothing in this classroom. There is a second classroom next to the library. We sent Ender and Carrie to check it out. And the rooms across from this classroom are bathrooms.". I said, "I'm guessing nothing there.". Sonic said, "I checked the boys room, nothing useful there. And there isn't anything useful in the boy's room, there possibly isn't anything useful in the girl's room either.". Then a ding dong bing bong sound appeared. Monokuma's voice said, "Everyone please meet in the gym! It's time for your new motive!". My face turned into terror when the announcement came. This is gonna be worse than the secret motive, I just know it! We fearfully walked down stairs to the gym.
The 16 of us were waiting in the gym for Monokuma to come and give us our second motive. Carrie said, "I'm nervous Ender! The last motive actually got someone to kill!". Ender said, "I am too but no one is like Flappy so I think we'll be fine.". Monokuma appeared out of nowhere again and said, "Hello students! Congrats on surviving your first class trial!". Flame asked, "How do you keep appearing out of nowhere like that?". Monokuma said, "None of your business! Anyway, did you guys have fun exploring the second floor?". Skylar asked, "Why did the second floor suddenly unlock?". Monokuma said, "It's your reward for surviving the class trial! Every time you survive a class trial, the next floor unlocks! So if you want more floors then better get to killing!". Carrie said, "There's no way we'd kill each other!". Zeke said, "Especially for some stupid floors!". Monokuma said, "That's what they all say. And by the way my floors aren't stupid! They're more interesting than your blocky world!". Zeke yelled, "Wanna say that again!".
Rubble said, "Can you just explain the stupid motive already!". Rubble's voice when he said that it sounded like he was about to cry. Monokuma said, "OF COURSE! As you all know the last motive file is gone and about to be replaced with a new one! The motive is… if you get away with murder, you get to leave with $1,000,000!". Mr. Krabs said, "T-That's a lot o-of M-M-M-MONEY!". I checked the motive file to see if there's more to it. The file says, "Motive #2: Cash! The killer gets $1,000,000 if they get away with murder!". There isn't more to this motive. Jolt said, "Why would anyone kill for a million dollars?". Monokuma said, "Greed can get the better of anyone. Even the strongest of people. Anyone of you can have greed control you. I'll let you all go on with your day. Catch ya later!". He jumped and disappeared out of nowhere once again.
One thing that is scaring me right now is that he is right! Greed can get the better of any one of us! We all exited the gym but just like the last motive announcement, Ender called me over to the bleachers. I asked, "Is everything good?". Ender said, "Yeah, I just wanted to talk to you alone.". I asked, "Is it about the fact that I know Rubble's secret?". Ender said, "Yeah that one thing. I'm not going to ask you to tell me his secret.". I said, "You're not? But I thought that you were suspicious of him". Ender said, "I am but I don't think trying to force someone to tell his secret is the right thing to do. I just want to know how bad his secret is.". I said, "Well his secret is something that you'd not expect. He didn't do anything bad, it's something that happened to him that he might not want to talk about.". Ender said, "I see. How bad is this thing that happened to him?". I said, "I say it's most likely pretty traumatizing.".
Ender said, "Really? Thanks for telling me this. For the other thing I wanted to talk to you about. With this new motive I think we need to keep an eye on Mr. Krabs.". I asked why and he said, "Because with him being the Ultimate Cheapskate. He is probably money hungry. This motive might be messing his mind and we can't let him do something bad. I was thinking at night I can stand guard at his dorm door to make sure he doesn't kill.". I asked, "Won't you get tired?". He said, "I usually don't need sleep, I just have been so that bear doesn't kill me. So I can stay up all night!". I asked, "What about during the day?". He said "We can take turns watching the day. Will you help me?". He held out his hand and I grabbed his hand and said, "I'm in!". We walked out of the gym and headed for the dining room for brunch.
We were all waiting for Jolt and Flame at the dining table. "Is Mr. Krabs ok?" asked Carrie. "Yeah he is just thinking." said Ender. I'm guessing he doesn't want Carrie or anyone else to get more worried or scared. "This motive is easier than the last one!" said Zeke. Rubble said, "For you but it might not be for others". After he said that he looked towards Mr. Krabs. "Let's just go through our day without thinking about the money." said Rainer. Everyone or at least most of us agreed with what Rainer said. Then Flame and Jolt brought us egg sandwiches and we all ate brunch.
After brunch we all went off to go do our own thing. I was honestly surprised that Rubble joined in on our conversation today. I wanted to explore the rest of the first floor. Rainer, Flame and Jolt wanted to join in, so we went off to explore. The first room we went to was the AV room. The AV room had speakers and monitors. Also there were a bunch of chairs too. I'm guessing this is a place where we can watch movies. Jolt asked, "I wonder what type of movies this thing can play?". I said, "I wonder if we can hack this thing to contact the outside world?". Rainer said, "I doubt we're able to. Once Monokuma finds out he'll execute us faster than you think.". Flame said, "Can we play videogames on this thing though?". Jolt said, "Oh if we can, let's spend all day doing it!". Rainer said, "I doubt there are video games here guys.". They both said "Awwwww".
Then we visited the school shop. It had a fridge full of sodas, a bunch of stuff to decorate our rooms with and candy. It also has armor stands for some reason. We didn't really care about any of this stuff, so we just left after we looked around. I said as we walked out, "There is no way I'm going to get anything from the school store. It might be a trap.". They agreed with me and we walked down the hallway. We visited the nurse's office next. It had the nurse's desk and chair, her computer, filing cabinets, and medical cabinets. It also had a chair for the students. Jolt said, "This room has a computer!". I said, "I doubt it works Jolt.". He tried to turn on the computer and it didn't work. Jolt said, "I figured that would happen. Hm…Maybe I can tincture with this and get it to turn on.". Rainer asked, "You sure you're able to do that Jolt?". Jolt said, "I might be an athlete but I know my way with computers. Especially since I'm an electric type!".
I said, "After we check the last room, you can try your best to fix the computer up.". We exited the room and entered the last room, the entrance hall. This is the same room we entered before they knocked us out by the gas. Rainer said, "I remember this room. This is the room where they knocked us out on day one!". Jolt said, "I don't remember seeing that vault door before.". I looked towards where the entrance/exit door should be but it was replaced by a vault door! I asked, "Wasn't the door we entered through in the same place as that vault door?". Rainer said, "Yeah it was. They really went all out to make sure we don't leave.". Flame said, "Can we leave this room before they knock us out by gas again.". We left the entrance hall.
Jolt and Flame went back to the nurse's office. Me and Rainer went to the second floor. Rainer wanted to go to the pool but was a little afraid to go alone. I can understand that, plus I haven't gone swimming in so long. When we arrived we saw Carrie, Mr. Krabs and Red Yoshi in the water having fun while Ender was reading a book from the sideline. Rainer said, "Hey you guys, do you mind if we join?". Carrie said, "Yeah just don't splash Ender.". Rainer ran and jumped in the pool. The splash she made was one the best splashes I've seen. Ender dodged it like it was lava. Rainer said, "C'mon Blue jump on in! Unless you're too chicken!". It's nice to see Rainer having fun and not fearing for her life right now. So I jumped as well, my splash wasn't that big. It wasn't big enough to reach Ender.
Rainer looked towards Ender and said, "Hey Ender, why don't you come in the water?". Carrie swam up to Rainer and said, "Ender can't swim. The water will kill him if he touches it. It's like his poison.". Rainer said, "OH, sorry for almost splashing you!". She said that while rubbing the back of her head with her left paw. Ender said, "It's ok, you're not from where I live so I didn't expect you to know that.". I'm glad I didn't have a big splash then. Water is Ender's poison. That's good to know but I hope Mr. Krabs didn't hear that. I looked towards Mr. Krabs. He looks like he is just staring off to space, not paying attention to anyone around him. I asked, "What is up with Mr. Krabs?". Carrie said, "I honestly don't know. He is in his own world right now. He isn't listening to the words we're saying. I don't think he can hear us right now.".
I'm kinda scared and worried about Mr. Krabs right now. We spent some time having fun at the pool. Rainer said, "Then Clover accidentally slipped off the diving board and did a belly flop!". After she said that we laughed. I said, "You know this is nice! Not have to worry about our situation and just enjoy some pool time!". Rainer said, "It's too bad Flame is afraid of water.". Red Yoshi asked, "Wait, your brother is afraid of water?". Rainer said, "Yeah, when he was little, he had a bad experience with water.". Red Yoshi said, "Sorry to hear that.". I asked , "So what type of water stories do you guys have?". Carrie said, "Me and Ender don't have any since Ender can't go near water.". Red Yoshi said, "I didn't go swimming a lot as a kid.".
Mr. Krabs finally spoke and said, "Well I have lots of stories since I live underwater.". I said, "Mind telling us some of them if you don't mind.". He started to tell us about his past before he made his restaurant and stories that happened at his restaurant. He also told us about the population of the town he lives in. The town he lives in is called Bikini Bottom. Mr. Krabs spent two hours telling us stories about his time in Bikini Bottom. I felt like I grew closer with Mr. Krabs today. Rainer said, "Sounds like Bikini Bottom is a wild place to live.". Mr. Krabs said, "It sure is. I miss it.". Carrie said, "I bet you do.". I said, "Hey I'm getting out of the pool, it was fun but I'll catch you guys later.". Rainer said, "I'm gonna join him. Later guys!". They said bye and me and Rainer got out of the pool, dried off and left.
Rainer asked me as we're walking through the halls, "So do you think we'll escape this place alive?". The question was all of a sudden. I wasn't expecting her to ask that. I asked, "What did you ask?". Rainer asked, "Do you think that we'll escape this place alive?". I asked her, "Why are you asking that?". Rainer started to form tears and said, "There's no way to leave without killing and if someone kills and gets away with it, every innocent people gets killed! I'm scared Blue! I don't want you or my brothers to die!". I said, "Rainer please calm down! I know you're scared, especially after we saw what happens if we lose class trials. But I know that we're gonna make it out together! We'll find an escape and get far away from that psychotic bear! I promise.". Rainer hugged me and said, "Thank you!". I hugged her back.
After our hug was over we continued our walk. We headed to relax in the AV room. When we entered Skylar, Sonic and Tails were there picking out a movie to watch. Tails asked, "How about Titanic?". Sonic said, "Definitely not!". Skylar said, "Toy Story?". I asked, "You're into Toy Story?". Skylar said, "Blue! Rainer! Didn't notice you two there! And yes it's a good movie.". Sonic said, "You guys wanna join us? We're looking for a movie to watch.". Rainer said, "Sure, We came here to watch a movie anyway.". We spent five minutes picking a movie out. The movie we eventually picked was Pixels. It's a movie about video games coming to life and wages war on earth because of the video game tournament video they've sent into space.
The movie was 1 hour and 46 minutes long. After we watched the movie, we spent some time talking about it. We spent 10 minutes talking about it. Skylar said, "The pacman scene was the best scene in my opinion.". I asked, "Was it because of the action?". Skylar said, "Yes it is!". Rainer checked the time in her handbook and said, "It's about dinner time. Should we head to the dining room now?". I said, "Yeah let's go.". Sonic said, "Race you guys there!". Sonic sped out of the room in a blink of an eye. He really is the fastest thing alive. I enjoyed my time with Skylar, Sonic, and Tails.
We arrived at the dining room and chatted with everyone. Like always Rubble sat alone while the rest of us sat with each other and talked until food came. We were just telling stories about our lives. Purple was the only one who didn't tell any stories because it's none of our business. That's the reason he gave, I honestly am nervous to know what he's hiding. Zeke asked Purple, "Why don't you share your real name with people?". Purple said, "None of your business Green!". Zeke said, "For the last time, my name is Zeke!". Skylar said, "Face it blockhead, he isn't gonna remember or listen!". Flame and Jolt walked in with Flame's homemade pizza. Kamek asked, "How much food do you know how to make?'. Flame said, "More than you think. Now let's dig in!". We had pizza and for the rest of the day I hung out with Rainer. At 9:30pm I headed to bed early and Rainer went to her dorm to relax. The day has ended.
The next day wasn't that eventful luckily. Ender woke me up at 7:02am and asked me if I could hang out and watch Mr. Krabs today. I told him I would and got ready. I found him in the dining room. He and Rubble were the first two people there. It took 10 minutes for everyone to get here. I wish Monokuma would let us sleep in instead of waking us up with that stupid wake up call. Flame and Jolt served us eggs and bacon for breakfast. Then me and Mr. Krabs went to the school store. Mr. Krabs wanted to try to get in the cash register. He managed to open it but it was empty. He was annoyed that it was empty since it took him 15 minutes to open it. Why was it so hard to open? I don't know.
Then we went to the AV room to watch a sailor movie. After we watched the 2 hour long movie, he wanted to see if he was able to recreate the Krabby Patty recipe so he went to the kitchen while I stood outside the kitchen door. I would've gone in the kitchen with him but he told me to wait outside since the recipe is a secret. It took at least 2 hours for him to perfect the recipe. I tried a Krabby Patty and it was pretty good. I told him, "This is pretty good!". If you're wondering, yes he did charge me for the burger. He said, "Glad ya like it. That'll be $2.25!". Of course I didn't have money on me so I told him to put it on a tab.
I'm really curious about the recipe for the Krabby Patty but it's none of my business. We went to the library because I managed to convince him to go there. I wanted to read some of the books in the archive section. Mr. Krabs looked for sailor books. I found Ender and Carrie in the archive section. Carrie said, "Hey Blue and Mr. Krabs!". Ender did not notice us or hear Carrie because he was busy reading. He really wants to know if any of these books have anything that could help us. I wanted to leave him alone so I walked up to Carrie and asked, "Hey, are there any books here you'd recommend for me to read?". Carrie recommended a book about pokemon anatomy since I'm a pokemon. I'm nervous about them having this book since this school is about students killing students.
Me and Mr. Krabs spent 2 and a half hours reading. I learned a lot of stuff about other pokemon, but one thing that scares me is that all eeveelutions are in this book! I seriously don't want this book used against me or the sibling trio. So I'm gonna keep this book in my dorm. It's not against the rules to keep a library book in a dorm room so I'm not getting punished! We left the library and Rainer saw us leaving the library. She invited us to join her in the pool. We accepted and headed to the pool. It was just us three at the pool. We spent 2 hours swimming at the pool. After we got out of the pool and headed for the dining room since it was about dinner time.
We had spaghetti for dinner and after we ate, Ender took Mr. Krabs for the rest of the day. I spent the rest of the day by myself. I went to the sauna for an hour. Afterwards, I spent the rest of the day in my dorm. At 9pm Rainer, Flame and Jolt visited my dorm. Rainer asked, "How was hanging out with Mr. Krabs?". I said, "It was good. Don't accept any food made by him, he'll charge you for it.". Flame said, "Honestly not surprised. I spent time with Purple while Jolt was working on the computer. Purple gets weirder everyday.". I asked, "How's the computer going?". Jolt said, "Rough start but I know I can fix it!". I said, "Good luck with that Jolt.". We talked until 9:59pm. Rainer checked the time and said, "I think it's time for us to go to bed.". Jolt and Flame agreed and we all said goodnight. They left and I got ready for bed. I went to sleep and ended the day.
I woke up at exactly 7am. I got ready and wanted to look for Rainer to see how she's doing. I passed by Ender who was standing by Mr. Krab's door. We both said good morning to each other. He said, "You're up early today.". I said, "Yeah. How was last night for you?". He said, "I was basically just standing here. Carrie wanted to join but I didn't want her to get in trouble so I told her to stay in her dorm.". I then asked, "Hey did you see Rainer get out of her dorm or is she still in there?". He said, "She is still in there but she's awake. She said good morning to me when she checked the hallway to make sure nothing bad happened.". She must be more paranoid than I thought she was.
I thanked him and went to Rainer's dorm. I rang her doorbell and she came out. She said, "Hey Blue! Usually I wake you up! How are you?". I said, "I'm good. I came by to check on how you're doing.". She said, "I'm doing good! I was gonna go to the library to look for a book to read! Wanna come?". I said, "Sure!" and we headed off to the library. As we were going to the library, I asked her, "What type of book are you looking for?". Rainer said, "Just something to distract myself from this twisted game.". I don't think I should tell her about the book I found yesterday yet. I think I should wait till she is less tense. We got to the staircase and Rainer went up first.
As I was still on the staircase since I was walking slower than Rainer. There was a lot on my mind at the time. Then I heard Rainer scream! Her scream probably woke everyone up. As soon as I heard her scream, I rushed up the stairs. As soon as I got to the top, I saw Rainer's trembling body. I looked beside her and saw the cause of the scream! Ender teleported to us and asked, "Why was there a scream? What happe-". Before he could finish, he saw what we're staring at. The cause of the scream was a d-dead body! Someone else has died!
