Kanto Gets Loud
Chapter 76: Celadon City Pokemon Contest Time!
The Next Day, Celadon City Contest Hall,
Heavy clouds were rolling in on Celadon City, as Lincoln and company stood before the Contest Hall high hopes of Lincoln at least making it into the second round, "Well this is it. Time for all the training my Pokemon did to finally pay off," Lincoln commented.
"You do know how you want your routine in the Appeals Stage to go, right?" Brock asked.
"He's right. If you don't wow the judges enough, you won't be able to advance to the second stage and beat that bimbo, Vercua," Misty added.
"Not to worry. With all the practice we've been doing, I'm sure that Queeny and Lapis will pull us through the first round," Lincoln replied, as he and his companions entered the arena.
"Hey babe, what's your name? How's about your phone number, email address, three measurements?" Lincoln groaned upon hearing the lecherous voice of the same guy that nearly ruined his date with the girls the other day. He looked to see none other than Ataru Moroboshi, hitting on some girls, who responded by either slapping or body slamming him to the ground.
"Oh no, not him!" he groaned.
"Someone you know?" Brock asked.
"Yeah. You remember that guy I told you about who kept bothering Verosika and Milt during our date the other day?" Lincoln asked.
"Oh, so that's the guy?" Misty asked, just as Lum came in and began zapping Moroboshi.
"Unfortunately. Hopefully, he won't ruin the Contest," Lincoln replied. It was then that Lincoln saw Mendou, Shinobu, along with four other teen boys. One had large, square shaped glasses, semi-well kept brown hair, and a stern look in his eyes. The second had a brown perm on his head. The third was the bulkiest of the four, sporting a crew cut hairstyle. The fourth and final one was the shortest of the bunch, with light brown hair.
"Typical Ataru, always going after every girl in sight," the glasses wearing boy commented unsympathetically, watching Ataru get an electric lynching from Lum.
"He's beyond help," Shinobu commented, before noticing Lincoln, "Oh, hi there, Lincoln!" she greeted.
"Hello to you as well, Shinobu," Lincoln greeted back, catching the attention of the others.
"So, you're still here then?" Mendo asked respectfully.
"That's right. I'm entering the Contest here while my friends and I are waiting for the storm to pass over," Lincoln replied.
"I see. By the way, I don't see those other girls with you today. Where are they?" Mendo asked.
"They're back home in the Monster Realm. They only came over to the Human Realm so we could have ourselves a date," Lincoln replied.
"WHAT?!" Moroboshi yelled, as he began shaking Lincoln, "Why would you send back the only girls I've ever been in love with?!"
"Because they're only obligated to stay in the Human Realm as long as they wish. Besides, none of them even like you, so keeping you away from them is something I'll be more than glad to do," Lincoln replied, smacking Morboshi's arms away.
"Is this kid someone you guys know?" the glasses wearing teen asked.
"Yes. We only met him yesterday, taking some Monster girls out on a date. His name's Lincoln Loud. He comes from Michigan," Shinobu replied.
"All the way from America? That's quite the journey just for one date," the teen with the perm commented.
"It's a bit of a long story. But Shinobu is right. I am from America, and I am dating some Monster Girls, all of them being princesses to boot, as per a deal the anscestors on both sides made many years ago. In fact, the Interspecies Exchange Bill was put into place to help make fulfilling the deal a lot easier," Lincoln replied.
"Hmm, I can respect that," the glasses wearing guy replied.
"By the way Lincoln, these are Lum's Stormtroopers," Shinobu said, introducing the four boys.
"The name's Satoshi, but everyone calls me 'Megane'," the glasses wearing boy said.
"I'm Kosuke, though everyone knows me better as 'Perm'," the guy with the perm added.
"I'm Hiroyuki, better known by my peers as 'Kakugari'," the bulkiest of the boys said.
"And I'm Akira, also known as 'Chibi' by everyone else," the smallest of the four added.
"Please to meet all of you. So, are you guys here to watch the Pokemon Contest today?" Lincoln asked.
"So, is that what the hubbub is about?" Megane asked, looking around the lobby, as coordinators were grooming their Pokemon to get ready for the contest.
"That's right. I'm one of the people entering," Lincoln replied.
"Well, as a matter of fact, I was invited out to be a special guest judge for this event, since my father was too busy with work to come out today," Mendo replied.
"So, are all those creatures those 'Pokemon' things we've been hearing about?" Lum asked, looking around the lobby.
"That's right. While a Pokemon's natural instinct is to battle one another to grow stronger, it's not the only thing they can do along side their human Trainers, like Lincoln here. This Contest is meant to show off how well a Pokemon is raised in as flashy a way as possible," Brock explained.
"You'll see more of the action in a little bit. I need to get backstage until it's my turn to go on," Lincoln stated.
"We'll head on up to the stands," Misty said.
"Sounds good," Lincoln replied, as he broke off from his companions, and made his way backstage to the waiting room, where several other coordinators were waiting, "Looks like some pretty stiff competition," he said to himself.
"Make way, peons!" Lincoln turned to see Veruca strutting into the waiting room like she owned the place, and made her way over to the vanity mirrors, "With so many talentless flunkies, winning this contest will be a cinch for me," she said to herself, not realizing or caring that everyone there heard her.
"Man, what a bitch!"
"Only thing she's got going for her is good looks."
"I look forward to seeing her get tossed out."
Lincoln heard many of the other coordinators saying pretty harsh things about Veruca, who didn't look like she cared one little bit, "I'm going to enjoy putting her in her place," he said to himself, just as the TV Monitors began to play music.
"Welcome everyone to the Celadon City Beauty Division Pokemon Contest! I'm your host, Lilian Meridian, and today we're going to be witnessing a group of talented young coordinators vying for this, the prestigious Celadon City Beauty Ribbon!" the emcee announced, as she held up a blue ribbon with a crest that, to Lincoln, looked similar to one of the badges Raigo had. The emcee herself was a young woman with curly orange hair, and a matching blue sports top and shorts. She was also wearing a sports visor on her head, "And let's not forget that this will be a Double Performance, so all our coordinators will be using two Pokemon instead of just one! And now, let's meet our panel of distinguished judges! First is the head of the Pokemon Activities Committee, Mr. Raoul Contesta!" she announced, motioning to an older man in a red tuxedo.
"I'm very honored to be here in Celadon City. I hope to see nothing shy of good sportsmanship between each and every coordinator!" he said.
"Next is the President of the Pokemon Fan Club, Mr. Sukizo!" Lilian then motioned to a short man with a buzz cut, wearing a grey suit and a cheerful smile on his face.
"Thank you! Celadon City is remarkable!" he said.
"And next up is Celadon City's very own Nurse Joy!" Lilian then motioned to Nurse Joy.
"Seeing all the healthy Pokemon we're about to see fills my heart with joy," she stated.
"And now, our special guest judge, the heir to the Mendo Family Conglomerate, Shutaro Mendo!" Lillian finally motioned to Mendo.
"I am honored to be here. Though I am not well versed in these 'Pokemon' creatures as my fellow judges are, I aim to help judge this contest in a fair manner," Mendo announced. Just then, one of the stage hands came into the dressing room.
"Coordinator Number One, you're up!" he announced.
"Right!" one of the other coordinators said, as he exited the dressing room.
"And now, lets move on to our first coordinator! You're on!" Lilian announced, as the first coordinator ran out onto the stage.
"Alright, Sunflora and Tropius, you're up!" he called, sending out a sunflower like Pokemon and a sauropod Pokemon with large, leaf-like wings and bananas growing from its chin. Both of them had both yellow and green flower petals surrounding them as they emerged. From then on, several other coordinators went out and did their performances alongside their own Pokemon. Such Pokemon included the following:
A pair of floating sun and moon rock Pokemon.
A tall gothic Pokemon that appeared to be wearing a gothic Lolita style dress.
A cricket like Pokemon with an impressive moustache.
A ghostly Pokemon that reminded Lincoln of a Yuki Onna.
"Coordinator Number 15, you're up!" the stage hand announced.
"Good," Veruca said, as she strutted out of the dressing room.
"Time to see what she can do," Lincoln said to himself.
Meanwhile, back at the Loud House,
Fridays would always be a blessing in the Loud House. Since there was to be no school the next day, the kids opted to stay up late, usually watching some TV. Of course, since the day was also one where schools were closed, that was a plus as well. And since getting their Kanto Broadcast Box, they've been able to watch some of the programs that are only available in the Kanto Region. At the moment, they were watching the Celadon City Pokemon Contest, "Seeing all those different Pokemon out there is truly incredible! I hope Lincoln gets data on them," Lisa commented.
"Those sun and moon ones looked really interesting," Lana replied.
"They kind of looked like they were made of rocks of some kind," Rita added, taking a swig of water.
"How are you feeling after this morning, Mom?" Luna asked.
"Honestly? I don't think I've ever felt that relaxed in years," Rita replied.
Flashback, earlier that morning,
The sisters had all gotten up, ready to help out their mother with finding a new house, only to find that she still hadn't gotten back yet, "Mom's still not home?" Luan asked.
"Maybe she hit a snag and wasn't able to make it home last night," Lana theorized.
"Well, hopefully she'll be home soon. We kind of need to start looking for a new house as soon as possible," Luna stated. As if to answer her prayers, a knocking was heard from the door. She went to answer it, and found her mother, looking very groggy, along with Katie and Taylor standing on the porch, "Whoa, Mom, what happened to you?"
"I… guess I partied a little harder than I should've," Rita replied.
"She's still feeling the effects of the one sip of beer she had last night. We already gave her something for the hangover," Taylor replied, as Luna and Luan helped Rita onto the couch.
"We can't go house hunting with Mom like this!" Lola commented.
"Don't worry sweetie, your mom will be fine in about an hour. The medicine we gave her is some pretty powerful stuff. We used a lot whenever we get a little too tipsy for our liking," Katie replied.
"Anyhow, we did promise your mom that we'd help you out with finding a new house to live in, but we should get back to our place and check on our little boy," Taylor added.
"But don't worry. We'll be back a little later," Katie added, as they left the soon to be vacant Loud House, "You know, I don't think we've ever set foot on this property."
"That's because we've been avoiding it like the plague because of that 'man'," Taylor replied, as they got into their car, and drove off.
Realtime,
"That hangover was anything but pleasant for me. Thankfully, the medicine that the girls gave me was as effective as they said it was," Rita commented.
"And we were able to find a suitable house, with plenty of room for any more Pokemon Lincoln sends over," Lisa added.
"True. I'm just happy that we've got ourselves an actual pool now," Lana replied.
Flashback, earlier in the day,
Along with Katie and Taylor, the Louds went out to find a new, larger house for them all to live in. They were accompanied by a real estate agent who ahs a good track record for selling large houses. They stopped at the first house, which had a wide, rocky front yard, and a brick fence surrounding the perimeter "Alright then, this house is a five-bedroom, three-bathroom domicile, that features fabulous rock gardens, a nice view of the city, and a wide-open backyard," the agent said.
"Hmm, it does sound nice an all, but the problem is that I have eleven kids, and our old house only has six bedrooms. Seven, if you count the converted linen closet," Rita replied.
"Not to worry. How many bedrooms are you looking for?" the agent asked.
"Hmm, what do you say, girls?" Rita asked her daughters.
"I'd say the house we get should allow each of us to have our own, individual bedroom. That way, there's no chance of any squabbling should anything happen to our personal possessions," Lisa replied.
"Lisa has a point. We don't want another repeat of what happened with Mr. Coconuts and Luna's fog machine," Luan added. The others agreed with her.
"Not to worry! I have plenty of houses that sound right up your alley!" the agent replied, as he continued showing them some more houses. Eventually, they settled on the perfect one; a twelve-bedroom, five-bathroom house on the ritzy side of town, complete with a wide front and backyard, the latter of which had a decent sized swimming pool that was 30 feet wide, 60 feet long, and about 6-9 feet deep in the shallow and deep ends respectively.
"Well girls?" Rita asked, sounding pleased with how the house looked.
"WE LOVE IT!" they replied.
"Wonderful! We'll take it! Now, do you take cards?" Rita asked. The agent pulled out a card reader, "Splendid!" Rita then gave the agent the card she got from Lucius and paid for the house.
"Wonderful! I just need you to fill out some paperwork back at the office, and you'll officially be the proud owner of this house," the agent said, handing back the card.
"Excellent!" Rita said, as the agent got back into his car and made his way back to his office. Rita then turned to Katie and Taylor, "Thanks for helping me out with this, ladies. We really appreciate it."
"Don't worry about it, Rita. We're happy to help you out, especially with how wild you were last night," Katie said, causing Rita's face to turn bright red.
"Well, in any case, we need to get going. We have a playdate set up for our little man here," Taylor added, looking down at the baby carrier she was carrying, as she and her wife went back to their car and drove off.
"Ok, so now that we've got our new home, we can go rent a moving truck and hire some movers to help us out getting our stuff into this new place," Rita said, as she and her daughters got into Van Zilla.
"You know, Mom, in addition to the new house, we can try upgrading some of the stuff from our old home too," Luna pointed out.
"She's right. We can get a new van, a much larger fridge, maybe one of those deep freezer chest things. Heck, we can even get a better washer and dryer set for laundry," Lisa added, as Van Zilla sputtered as started up.
"Well, I can agree with you on upgrading the van at least. And we could make do with a new fridge. But let's take it all one step at a time for now," Rita replied, as they drove off.
Realtime,
"So, tomorrow's going to be the big day, huh?" Luna asked rhetorically.
"Yep. This is our last night in this house. And it really was a smart idea for us to dismantle all the beds ahead of time to make things easier," Rita commented, looking over at each of the piles of bed pieces, each marked for each individual living in the house.
"The beds were some of the last things to be taken apart, and when we're moved in, they'll have to be the first things to be reassembled," Lana suggested.
"As soon as we get moved in, we can start assembling furniture again," Rita replied, as they returned their attention to the TV, where Veruca had just walked on stage.
"That must be the person Lincoln told us about. The one who was bad mouthing his Pokemon?" Lola asked.
"She certainly seems like a diva," Rita commented.
"Now then, Ninetales and Lurantis, to the stage!" Veruca called out, sending out, in a ball of blue flames and pink flower petals, a gorgeous, yellow fox Pokemon with nine tails, and a tall, pink and white mantis like Pokemon that looked to be wearing bell bottom pants.
"Oh, that fox is so beautiful!" Lola exclaimed.
"It looks just like a kitsune," Lucy said, startling everyone there.
"Wait, what's a 'kitsune'?" Lana asked.
"In Japanese mythology, a kitsune is often depicted as a nine tailed fox. They're said to possess tremendous supernatural powers," Lucy explained, as they continued to watch the performance, which appeared to be nearing its end.
"Alright, Ninetales, use Fire Spin!" Veruca called. Ninetales then blew out a spiral of flames, surrounding all three of them inside, "Now Lurantis, use Solar Blade!" Lurantis gathered up sunlight, and, using the accumulated energy and turning it into a blade of solar energy, sliced right through the flames.
"Wow, now that was a truly spectacular performance by Celadon City's own Veruca! Let's see what the judges think!" Lilian said, turning to the judges.
"Surrounding herself and her Pokemon in Fire Spin like that was a truly daring feat, to say the least," Mr. Contesta said, as a score of 9.5 appeared on his podium.
"Remarkably brave!" Mr. Sukizo added, as a score of 9.3 appeared on his podium.
"Using Pokemon that normally have a bad type matchup, and using their individual characteristics to show off the others is truly something to behold," Nurse Joy said, as a score of 9.6 appeared on her podium.
"It definitely takes a strong will to pull off something like that," Mendo added, as a score of 10 appeared on his podium. The total score gave Veruca a score of 38.4 points.
"Wow, a score of 38.4 is the highest score we've gotten in this contest so far! That certainly won't be easy to beat!" Lilian commented, as Veruca retreated backstage, "And now, for our next coordinator, it's someone who's been making headlines in the Kanto Region since his Cerulean City Gym Battle, all the way from Royal Woods, Michigan in North America, making his Contest debut, it's Lincoln Loud!"
"Hey, it's Lincoln!" Lola exclaimed happily.
"Incoln! Incoln!" Lily clapped happily.
"Yes sweetie, your brother is in this contest," Rita said, eagerly waiting for Lincoln's performance to start.
Back in Celadon City,
"Alright, Lapis and Queeny, you're up!" Lincoln said, as he sent out both Lapis and Queeny, the seals on their Ball Capsules giving off stars and pink flower petals respectively. Upon materializing, Lapis sparkled, giving more appeal to the stars on her seal.
"Wow, their entrance was already fantastic, but to see that Lincoln's Gardevoir is also a Shiny Pokemon only adds to the magic!" Lilian exclaimed.
"Alright Queeny, lets get started with Magical Leaf, just like we practiced!" Lincoln instructed. Queeny did a twirl while shooting Magical Leaf up into the air, "Now Lapis, use Psychic to control the Magical Leaf and make it orbit you and Queeny!" Lapis then used Psychic to take control of the Magical Leaf, and sending it spinning around the two of them, "Alright, time for the big finish! Queeny, use Dazzling Gleam, and Lapis, you use Thunderbolt!" both Pokemon fired off their respective attacks at the orbiting Magical Leaf, causing a galactic aurora effect, that highlighted both Pokemon. The audience was in complete awe.
"Wow, so pretty!" Shinobu exclaimed.
"Not to mention it's making the most out their attacks to help show them off even more," Brock replied.
"A truly stunning performance by Lincoln Loud! Let's see what the judges have to say!" Lilian said, turning to the judges.
"The initial use of Grass and Psychic Type attacks shows that both Pokemon truly belong to those respective types," Mr. Contesta commented, as he gave a score of 9.7.
"Yes, not to mention remarkable," Mr. Sukizo added, giving a score of 9.6.
"Watching that performance, you'd never think that this was Lincoln's debut!" Nurse Joy said, giving a score of 9.8.
"Not to mention he showed off the feminine qualities of both Pokemon to the absolute maximum. Truly a noteworthy feat," Mendo commented, giving a score of 9.5. The overall total score for Lincoln was 38.6.
"Wow, a score of 38.6 bumps Lincoln Loud into the lead spot!" Lilian stated, as she approached Lincoln, "Lincoln, you seemed to know exactly how to show off your Pokemon in a truly stunning way."
"Well, it helps that I was my little sister's pageant coach back home," Lincoln replied, as he exited the stage.
"Quite right. Now then, onto our final coordinator, we have Jessica!" Lilian said, as a disguised Jessie strutted out onto the stage. She had her hair up in a bun, while wearing a yellow masquerade mask and a long purple dress.
"I know you've all been waiting for me, but wait no more! Now, Arbok and Ariados, you're up!" she proclaimed, sending out her Pokemon, which appeared with ribbons and smoke respectively, "Arbok, give Ariados a boost, and Ariados, you use your Spider Web around the stage," she instructed. Ariados wasted no time in climbing onto Arbok's back, allowing the Cobra Pokemon to hurl it into the air. Once it was high enough, Ariados suspended itself with some threads, before spinning some more webbing across the stage, "Alright, time to get moving, dear Ariados!" Ariados began running around the webbing, "Arbok, use Wrap on myself, then fire Poison Sting into the air," Arbok then slithered around Jessie, constricting her gently, before firing off Poison Sting into the air, "Now then, Ariados, use String Shot and catch the Poison Sting!" Ariados then began spinning String Shot, which caught all of the Poison Stings, "Now, let's wrap this up with a combo of Acid and Night Shade," Arbok hurled a thick purple liquid from its mouth, while Ariados fired black bolts from its eyes. Both attacks struck the Poison Sting and each other, creating a purple fireworks effect.
"Amazing! Combining Bug, Poison and Ghost Type attacks have actually created a stunning array of fireworks! Let's see what the judges thought of that performance!" Lilian said, turning to the judges.
"It's clear by that performance that Jessica is truly adept at handling Poison Type Pokemon to fullest of their abilities," Mr. Contesta said, giving a score of 8.4.
"Yes, not to mention remarkable!" Mr. Sukizo said, giving a score of 9.2.
"They way she had Arbok wrap around her was a bit unnerving, but that only goes to show the level of trust they have with each other," Nurse Joy said, giving a score of 9.
"I quite enjoyed how she was able to make fireworks from those attacks," Mendo said, giving a score of 9.6. The overall total was 36.2.
"Alright, a score of 36.2 for Jessica! Let's see if that'll be enough to propel her into the final round! We'll be taking a break to tally up the scores, and only the four coordinators who scored the highest will manage to make the cut to advance to the second round!" Lilian said, as Jessie recalled her Pokemon, and exited the stage.
"Ok, so Lincoln's in the lead, but just barely. A score like his should be enough to help him into the second round," Brock commented.
"I still don't know about the whole 'battling' part. It seems a bit mean," Shinobu commented.
"Well, just remember what we said. Battling is a natural instinct for Pokemon. So really, they're all helping their Pokemon out with that," Misty replied.
"So, is Lincoln going to be using those two Pokemon from before?" Lum asked, as she was holding onto Moroboshi very tightly to keep him from going to make a scene with Lilian and Nurse Joy.
"No. For the Kanto Contest Circuit, you have the option to use different Pokemon in the Battle Round," Brock replied.
"In Lincoln's case, he's going to be changing his line up to have his Feebas and Sliggoo take the stage," Misty replied.
"And we're back! Sorry for the delay, but we've managed to tally up the results, and these are the lucky four coordinators heading into our second round!" Lilian announced, as images of Lincoln, Veruca, Jessie, and one other coordinator appeared on the jumbotron.
"Lincoln's in!" Misty exclaimed happily.
"And so's Veruca," Brock added, sounding not as happy as Misty.
"And now we'll shuffle the order of battles!" Lilian said, as the pictures began to shuffle around, eventually ending in a tournament style bracket, "And here's our line up! Veruca VS Jessica! And Lincoln VS Diego! The battling will take place later this afternoon, so coordinators, take this time to prepare!"
Meanwhile, in Lori's Cell, Fountain Heights Psychiatric Sanitorium *thunder and lightning*
Lori was lying in her bed, rolled up into a ball. All the treatments that she had been subject to since being admitted to the Sanitorium had really done a number on her mentality. She's been slowly letting go of her obsession with forcing Lincoln and Ronnie Anne to be together, albeit she was being forced to do so. All the potential "bad" futures that her phantasm had been showing her didn't help matters much either. But on the plus side, she was finally able to start seeing things from the perspective of others, and began to understand the real reason why Bobby dumped her. She felt lower than low because she knew that was her own selfishness that cost her the only boyfriend she's ever had, as well as the respect of her family, especially her one and only brother, "Who was I kidding? Lincoln has every right to hate me and Lynn for what we did," she said to herself, just as her phantasm materialized.
"You have a point there. No one has the right to say others have no right to their own personal thoughts and emotions. It was by your own hand that your life was ruined. Much like the bratty jock of a sister of yours, you were just trying to force the role of a scapegoat onto your brother just to keep from taking one ounce of responsibility yourselves," the phantasm taunted, prompting Lori to turn away from it.
"Would you just leave me alone already? I'm not really in the mood right now to deal with you," she pleaded.
"Nothing happening, Lori. I have one final vision to show you that might give you the last push to trying to earn your brother's forgiveness. And the best part, you won't be alone in this vision. That sister of yours will be joining us as well," the phantasm replied, as it began to warp the world around Lori, dragging her and Lynn into another dreamscape.
"What the…?! Lori?! How are you in my dream?!" Lynn exclaimed.
"I was about to ask you the same question," Lori replied, as both of their phantasm doppelgangers materialized before them.
"It's all part of the whole schtick with the Karmic Misfortune Curse. We can drag you both into the same dreamscape to show you both the same visions necessary. Eh, don't bother asking how it works. It just does," phantasm Lori replied.
"Ok, so what do you have to show us?" Lori asked.
"Behold," phantasm Lynn said, showing them a vision of Royal Woods, but they at the cemetery for some reason, where what appeared to be a funeral service was being held.
"A funeral?" Lynn asked.
"Yes. Let's go take a look," phantasm Lynn replied, as the four of them floated over. There, they were able to see their parents and sisters, all who appeared to be sobbing uncontrollably.
"Wait a minute, where's Lincoln? On that note, where are we?" Lori asked.
"Take a look at the gravestone," phantasm Lori urged. Both sisters felt their hearts drop to their stomach upon seeing what it said on the tombstone.
R.I.P Lincoln A. Loud
XX, XX, 20XX – XX, XX, 20XX
Died Trying to Save His Ungrateful Sisters;
May He Always Be Remembered For
His Actions
"See, this is an alternate future in which Lincoln never went to Kanto, and he was made to continue suffering just to satisfy both of your selfish needs. Even so, he still managed to keep his good heart, which ultimately is what got him killed, trying to save the two of you from a collapsing building. Granted, he ultimately failed, but the fact he still tried saving you shows just how much of a bigger person he was," phantasm Lori explained.
"Wait, we died as well?" Lynn asked.
"Yes. However, given that it was actually both your faults that the building had started to collapse in on itself, everyone viewed not only the two of you as the perpetrators, but the rest of your family as well, since they could've all done something to stop this. And now, they're paying the price for what they did, or didn't do, however you want to look at it," phantasm Lynn said, as the Louds were all arrested, and taken away. Lynn Sr. and Rita were taken in by the police, while the sisters were all taken in by the CPS, each going into different cars, including the twins, "Pity about Lana and Lola, since the two of them were sentenced to being transferred to opposite ends of the country to keep them separated."
"Wait, you said that we died in this timeline as well. Where're our graves?" Lori asked. Both phantasms smiled maliciously, as they took both sisters to the far end of the cemetery, which was full of abandoned graves and mausoleums. Nearby, they saw some shifty looking grave diggers, who were all cackling as threw some dirt into a hole.
"Well, I can't say I've ever seen a funeral like this one before," one of them said.
"I know what you mean. No mourners, no priests to give them their final send off," another digger replied.
"Hey, think we should break for lunch?" a third digger asked.
"Sounds good to me. After all, these stiffs ain't going anywhere," the fourth digger said, as they gathered their tools, and walked off, leaving both sisters and their phantasms alone with the grave.
"I'm getting some serious 'A Christmas Carol' vibes from this," Lori commented.
"You mean during the cemetery scene during the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come part?" Lynn asked.
"The very same," Lori replied, as the two of them turned to the grave, "Phantasms, I probably don't even need to ask this, but… who's grave is this?" she shakily asked.
"See for yourself," phantasm Lori replied, as she illuminated the gravestone, which read something that truly sent a wave of chills up both sisters' spines.
Here Lies Lori 'the Tyrant' Loud
And Lynn 'Lame Loser' Loud Jr.
Disgraceful Winners in Life
Unloved Losers in Death
"This was the only area in the graveyard that the city was willing to give you both, given what you caused. And since they felt you weren't worth having your own individual graves, they just opted for a single grave and threw your sorry hides in there," phantasm Lori said, as a thick cloud of smoke billowed up from the grave. Looking down, both sisters saw what looked to be a pit of fire billowing up from the coffin. Chains shot out and wrapped around their arms and legs.
"Wait, no! This can't be how any of this ends for us!" Lori yelled, as she struggled to fight against the chains, which were pulling her and Lynn closer to the edge.
"Sorry to say, but this is what might happen if the two of you continue your little self-righteous venture against your brother," phantasm Lori said unsympathetically, as she munched away on some popcorn.
"But why show us this if we're really beyond Lincoln's forgiveness?!" Lori pleaded, as more chains wrapped around both sisters.
"Look, if we're truly beyond redemption, then so be it! But at least give us the chance to try to keep anything like this from happening! I'll even vow to NEVER buy into any sort of superstitions again!" Lynn yelled, as the two of them were dragged right to the edge.
"Even if we can't fully expunge our sins against Lincoln from our souls, we'll still try to make things right with him for the sake of closure and getting our family back together!" Lori yelled, as the two sisters were dragged into the grave.
"WE PROMISE WE CAN CHANGE OUR WAYS! WE'LL CHANGE!" Lynn yelled, as both sisters woke up to find themselves on the floor of each of their cells.
"I know now what I need to do," Lori panted, still freaked out from the vision she was forced to watch.
Back in Celadon City,
"And we're back for the second round of the Celadon City Pokemon Contest Double Performance! In this round, both coordinators must show off their Pokemon's moves while simultaneously reducing their opponent's points in the process. The coordinator who has the most points at the end of five minutes, or is able to knock out both of their opponent's Pokemon will be declared the winner! And now, lets meet our coordinators for the first match up! Hailing from right here in Celadon City is Veruca Friedman! And her opponent, hailing from parts unknown, is the mysterious Jessica!" Lilian announced.
"I saw your performance in the first round. Not bad, but still hideously ugly compared to what my Pokemon are capable of," Veruca taunted.
"Just keep talking big, missy! I'll enjoy seeing you eat your words!" Jessie proclaimed.
"The battle hasn't even begun and the trash talking has already begun! Allow me to just remind both trainers that we should try to keep this civil!" Lilian pleaded.
"Fine with me! We'll let the performances do the talking!" Veruca said, whipping out her Pokeballs.
"Took the words right out of my mouth!" Jessie said.
"Alright then, trainers bring out your Pokemon!" Lilian said.
"Seviper and Persian, you're up!" Vercua called, sending out Seviper, along with a cream-colored cat like Pokemon with a red jeweled dot in the middle of its forehead. The seals gave their entrance effects of flames and stars respectively. Watching from one of the backstage tunnels, Lincoln was curious about the other Pokemon Veruca had sent out, since it looked like a Persian just like Percival.
"Who's that Pokemon?" he asked, as he used his Pokedex to scan it.
"Persian, the Classy Cat Pokemon, a Normal Type, and the evolved form of Meowth. Persian is a very haughty Pokemon. Among the many fans of Persian, the red jewel in its forehead is the topic of much talk. Although it has a vicious temperament, it becomes docile if one of its whiskers is tugged on," Dexter explained.
"Sounds like it'll be a tough opponent," Lincoln commented.
"Barboach and Fomantis, Rocket Start!" Jessie called, as she sent out her Barboach and Fomantis. The seals gave the effects of blue bubbles and pink flower petals respectively.
"We've got five minutes on the clock, battle begin!" Lilian declared.
"Alright Seviper, start off with Haze!" Veruca called out. Her Seviper began belching out a cloud of black mist, mostly covering the battlefield.
"Don't count on that helping you out! Barboach, use Water Pulse, and Fomantis, Leafage!" Jessie ordered. Barboach fired off Water Pulse, which was splashing away some of the Haze, while Fomantis' attack fired off a small flurry of leaves, which helped blow away some of the Haze as well.
"A clever usage of her Pokemon's move allows Jessica to deal a solid blow to Veruca's points!" Lilian said, as Veruca's points decreases slightly.
"Why'd her points go down?" Chibi asked.
"When you're able to use your opponents moves to make your own moves look flashier, like how Jessica did, it can really appeal to the judges," Brock explained.
"Heh, weak attacks from weak and ugly Pokemon! Seviper, show them your beautiful Poison Tail, and Persian, give us a Power Gem!" Veruca called out. Seviper wasted no time in lunging right at Barboach, and slicing at it with Poison Tail, while Persian blasted Fomantis with Power Gem. Jessie's points took a real hit with that one move as a result, "And now, to keep up the pressure! Seviper, use Sludge Bomb, and Perisan, you use Shadow Ball!" Seviper fired off Sludge Bomb first, while Perisan fired Shadow Ball. The Poison Type move surrounded the Ghost Type Move, as they made contact, sending both Barboach and Fomantis down to defeat. Big red X's appeared on each of the Judge's Podiums.
"And that's Battle Off! Both of Jessica's Pokemon are unable to battle, so moving on to the final match will be Veruca!" Lilian announced.
"Hmph, naturally," Veruca arrogantly said, as she stroked both of her Pokemon in praise.
"What, already?!" Jessie exclaimed in disbelief.
"Whoa, I figured Veruca would be tough to beat, but I didn't think she'd be this strong!" Lincoln commented.
"I don't get it, was that Veruca chick too strong, or the other one too weak?" Megane questioned in shock.
"The former, I think," Brock replied.
"Lincoln's going to have his work cut out for him this time," Misty added.
Meanwhile, back at the Loud House,
Rita and her daughters were watching the Contest, and were very shocked to see how easily Veruca won that battle, "Whoa, she's good!" Luna commented.
"What do you think Lincoln should do to beat her?" Lana questioned.
"Staying on the defensive, for one thing. I remember him saying that he teaches every one of his Pokemon the move Protect. He'll have to make good use of that move with his performance," Lisa replied.
"Well, even with that, those Pokemon Veruca's using are going to be tough to beat," Luan commented.
"I know what you mean. Just look at that snake! Its tail looked like a sword!" Lola replied.
"And that cat didn't look very friendly either," Rita added, just as the second round was getting underway.
"Speaking of Lincoln, he's on!" Luna proclaimed.
Back in Celadon City,
"Alright, now it's time for the second round of the Celadon City Pokemon Contest! On my left, it's Diego from Cherrygrove City, and on my right, it's Lincoln Loud from Royal Woods, Michigan! So now, trainers, choose your Pokemon!" Lilian said.
"Alright, Feebas and Sliggoo, you're up!" Lincoln said, sending out Feebas and Sliggoo. Their seal effects gave them both either blue or pink bubbles for their entrance.
"Leavanny and Mismagius, you're on!" Diego said, sending out Mismagius, along with a yellow Bug Pokemon that looked like it was wearing leaves for clothes. Lincoln took a moment to scan the new Pokemon.
"Leavanny, the Nurturing Pokemon, a Bug and Grass Type, and the evolved form of Swadloon. This gentle Pokemon has strong, protective instincts. The leaves on its arms are strong enough to slice through a thick tree in one stroke," Dexter explained.
"Alright, both trainers have their Pokemon on stage, and five minutes on the clock! Now, begin!" Lilian declared.
"Alright, Sliggoo, let's get started with Rain Dance!" Lincoln called out.
"Ok, Lincoln!" Sliggoo replied, as she summoned a rain cloud over the stage.
"An unusual move by Lincoln, but still, something to behold as Sliggoo has rain coming down onto the stage!" Lilian said, as Diego's points decreased a bit.
"Now then, Sliggoo, use Water Pulse, and Feebas, use Icy Wind!" Lincoln instructed. Sliggoo fired off Water Pulse, followed by Feebas unleashing Icy Wind, which surrounded Water Pulse, giving it a beautiful sparkling effect, causing Diego to lose more points than before.
"Leavanny, use Light Screen! And Mismagius, use Lucky Chant!" Diego instructed. Leavanny summoned a barrier in front of both itself and Mismagius, who began chanting something, which formed another barrier over the two of them, just as the Water Pulse/Icy Wind combo hit.
"Yes! Direct hit!" Lincoln exclaimed, only to find that both Pokemon were relatively fine, "What?!"
"Whoa, but those looked like direct hits!" Lum commented, as now Lincoln's points took a hit.
"They were, and they did do some damage, but not a whole lot. See, Light Screen is a move that raises the Special Defense of the user, making Special Attacks like Icy Wind and Water Pulse less effective than normal. Top that off with Lucky Chant, which blocks the chances of Critical Hits, and you've got a solid defense," Brock explained.
"Alright, now to go on offense! Leavanny, use Energy Ball, and Mismagius, use Will O Wisp!" Diego instructed. Leavanny fired off a ball of natural energy, which Mismagius surrounded with blue flames. Once more, Lincoln's points took a hit, but were still above Diego's points.
"Quick, use Muddy Water to defend!" Lincoln called out. Sliggoo summoned a wave of muddy water that was able to block Diego's attack, causing him to lose more points.
"Using Muddy Water like that to defend against moves like Will o Wisp and Energy Ball was truly thinking outside the box," Mr. Contesta commented.
"Yes. Remarkable as well," Mr. Sukizo added.
"Given that both of Lincoln's Pokemon are either Water or Dragon types, such a defense was paramount," Nurse Joy added.
"That's not to say that his opponent's Pokemon don't have their own solid defense," Mendo added.
"Tsk, we have to finish this up, now! Mismagius, use Thunder! Leavanny, Razor Leaf!" Diego called out. Mismagius fired a wicked bolt of electricity into the Rain Dance clouds, while Leavanny launched a Razor Leaf. Lincoln's points took a major hit with that one, dropping below half.
"Whoa, what was that for?" Lum asked.
"Thunder is a move that will always hit if it's Raining. Diego's turning Sliggoo's Rain Dance against Lincoln," Brock replied.
"Lincoln, if we want to win, we should try using my Mirror Coat!" Feebas called out.
"Mirror Coat? But… well, if that's what you think will help out here, then Feebas, use Mirror Coat! And Sliggoo, use Dragon Breath to knock down that Razor Leaf!" Lincoln called out. Sliggoo fired off Dragon Breath, not only stopping Razor Leaf, but also sending Leavanny right into Mismagius. Just that happened, Feebas began glowing a brilliant yellow color, just as it got hit by Thunder. It struggled to keep going, but was able to send it back, striking both Leavanny and Mismagius with more force than before.
"Wow, in a surprising upset, Lincoln has managed to turn Diego's strategy against him with Mirror Coat, sending that Thunder back with double the force!" Lilian exclaimed, as both of Diego's Pokemon struggled to stay standing. Now Diego's points took a hit, dropping below Lincoln's.
"Mirror Coat is a move that returns the damage the user took from a Special Attack with double the original power," Mr. Contesta commented.
"And given that Feebas is a Water Type, going up against an Electric Attack must've dealt major damage to both it and its opponents," Nurse Joy added.
"That requires a remarkable amount of trust between trainer and Pokemon," Mr. Sukizo added.
"But if you look closely, it would appear that all three of them have become more sluggish than before," Mendo added, noticing how Feebas, Leavanny and Mismagius were all moving slower than normal.
"A side effect of Thunder is that it can sometimes paralyze the opponent. And since Sliggoo wasn't hit in the altercation, it's still fine," Nurse Joy explained.
"Alright, now let's finish this up with…!" Lincoln was cut off when the timer went off.
"And that's it! Time's up!" Lilian declared.
"Wait, already?!" Lincoln exclaimed, looking up at the Jumbo Tron to see that he had more points than Diego, but just barely.
"And with that performance, our winner for the second match of the second round is Lincoln Loud!" Lilian announced, as the audience cheered. Lincoln breathed a sigh of relief.
"You both were great out there. Let's go see about getting you patched up," Lincoln praised both Feebas and Sliggoo, recalling them to their Pokeballs. Diego did the same, before leaving.
"Our final match of the second round is going to be pitting Veruca Friedman against Lincoln Loud! This will all take place in an hour, so trainers, get your Pokemon topped off before then!" Lilian said.
"Alright! Now all Lincoln needs to do is beat that bimbo, and he'll win!" Misty proclaimed.
"Easier said than done, Misty. Remember, Veruca has two ribbons to her name already, while this is just Lincoln's debut. Lincoln's going to be in for a rough ride, especially with how strong her Seviper and Persian are," Brock replied.
"If he can just maintain the lead in term of points until the time runs out, then he should be good, right?" Perm asked.
"In theory," Brock replied.
Meanwhile, back at the Loud House,
"Lincoln made it to the second round!" Lola cheered.
"Now he just has to win against that Veruca woman, and he'll have won," Lucy added.
"But it won't be easy. Both of Veruca's Pokemon appeared to be very strong, and the way they moved was clear evidence that she has those other ribbons for a reason," Lisa replied.
"Yeah, that snake's sword tail looked like it can do some major damage. And I don't think that cat is any pushover," Luna added.
"In other words, Lincoln playing on the defensive is definitely going to be put to the test," Rita added.
Meanwhile, at Professor Oak's Lab, in the corral,
Selena was traipsing around the corral, smiling with vindictive pride. She had every one of Lincoln's Pokemon under her metaphorical thumb with all their secrets in her possession, "I wonder who I should go bother today?" she pondered, not knowing that she was being watched by several of Lincoln's Pokemon.
"Alright, time to get some dirt on ol' furball here," Skyera said, ready to charge in.
"Patience, child. If she suspects she's being eavesdropped upon, she'll no doubt turn to sneaking around to keep from anyone from spying on her," Fearow advised.
"As much as I'd love to sting that fleabag until she looks like a hot air balloon, Fearow has a point. She's too careful with keeping her own secrets from getting out," Buzzerker added.
"So, for now, we'll let Gengar do the heavy duty snooping in her shadow while we all wait," Fearow replied.
"But don't we have other spies trying to find a secret of Selena's?" Skyera asked.
"That we do. Andrea and Spirit are following underground, while Buneary, Mawile, and a few others are following her on foot," Fearow replied. Speaking of which, Buneary and Mawile were staying in the bushes nearby Selena, being careful NOT to make too much noise.
"I'm going to enjoy giving her a taste of her own medicine," Buneary quietly commented.
"As will I. I don't think I can live if she blabs about our secret to Lincoln," Mawile quietly replied.
"I know what you mean. I'm hoping that when I evolve, I can gain some more confidence with how big my butt will get," Buneary replied.
"Will it really?" Mawile asked.
"Yeah. My mother took great pride in how big her butt is, and told me and all my sisters to do the same. All 28 of us," Buneary replied.
"28?!" Mawile slapped her hand over her mouth, realizing that she yelled that louder than intended. Fortunately, it didn't look like Selena noticed, "And I thought Lincoln had a big family!" she said in a hushed voice.
"Well, considering that all Lopunny are always in heat, it's not unusual for one Lopunny to lay more than thirty eggs in their life time," Buneary replied.
"Yeesh! I'd be happy just laying two, maybe three," Mawile stated, feeling like she didn't want to know how Buneary and Lopunny are able to lay so many at a time.
"Selena's on the move again!" Buneary quietly exclaimed, as they followed her. They stopped, when she stopped to watch Percival, training with Absol and Kingler.
"Alright, here it comes again!" Percival called, as he fired off Power Gem, which Absol dodged, while Kingler blocked. Percival then charged straight at Kingler, ready to use Night Slash, only for both of them to be blindsided by Dragonair and Mienfoo, respectively. Nearby, Heracross was training hard with Bruce, Aizami, Grovyle, Raphael, and Inferna. But Selena's gaze was transfixed on Percival, as she blushed.
"Oh, how I wish that hunk of a Persian could be my mate," she said to herself. Unbeknownst to her, the many Pokemon of Lincoln's that were spying on her heard this, and smirked towards one another.
"Well, looks like someone has the same secret as some of the rest of us," Buneary commented.
"Yes. At least now we'll be able to give her a taste of blackmail," Mawile snickered.
Back in Celadon City,
"One coordinator has two ribbons to her name already! The other has made all the way to the final round in his Contest debut! It's now time for us to find out which of these two talented coordinators will be walking away with the prestigious Celadon City Pokemon Contest Beauty Division Ribbon! On my right, it's Veruca Friedman! And on my left, it's Lincoln Loud!" Lilian announced.
"I see you've managed to somehow stumble your way into the final round with those ugly Pokemon of yours," Veruca sneered, readying her Pokeballs.
"Don't sell us so short yet. After all, there's more to my Pokemon than meets the eye. And I intend to prove it to you!" Lincoln replied, readying his own Pokeballs.
"Alright, if both trainers are done with their trash talking, time to get this final round started!" Lilian proclaimed.
"Seviper and Persian, you're up!" Veruca called, as she sent out, in a burst of flames and stars, her Seviper and Persian.
"Time to show them what we're really all about! Feebas and Sliggoo!" Lincoln called, sending out, in a flurry of pink and blue bubbles, both Feebas and Sliggoo.
"We've got five minutes on the clock, and BEGIN!" Lilian announced, as the timer started.
"Seviper, start things off with Haze!" Veruca ordered. Seviper began belching out Haze, blanketing the entire stage.
"And already, Veruca is setting up the stage to make things harder for Lincoln to fight back!" Lilian said, as Lincoln lost some points.
"Quick Sliggoo, try to pat down the Haze with Rain Dance! And Feebas, send Water Pulse all across to the stage!" Lincoln called out. Sliggoo summoned rain clouds, while Feebas slammed a Water Pulse onto the stage, causing a mini tidal wave.
"Incredible! Along with the powerup from Rain Dance, that Water Pulse surging across the stage, drowning out Haze! Now Lincoln's setting the stage up for his Pokemon!" Lilian announced, as Veruca lost some more points than Lincoln.
"Persian, use Slash and cut through that water," Vercua ordered. Persian then effortlessly slashed straight through the water, costing Lincoln a decent chunk of points.
"Quick, while it's in range, use Dragon Breath, Sliggoo!" Lincoln called out. While Persian was still in close proximity, Sliggoo blasted it with an attack that actually came out as a beam of draconic energy, striking Persian and sending it skidding back, "Whoa, that didn't look like Dragon Breath!" he said in shock. Sliggoo looked just as surprised as Lincoln did.
"Simply incredible! It would appear that Sliggoo has managed to learn Dragon Pulse in the middle of battle!" Lilian exclaimed, as Veruca's points once again decreased. This seemed to really irk her as a result.
"Just a lucky break! I'm not losing this to a couple of ugly Pokemon! Seviper, use Poison Tail, and Persian, use Power Gem!" Veruca ordered. Seviper lunged at both of Lincoln's Pokemon, its tail glowing purple, while Persian fired off Power Gem.
"Don't sell us short just yet! Sliggoo, use Poison Tail to redirect the Power Gem, and Feebas, you use Water Pulse!" Lincoln called out. Sliggoo used Poison Tail itself, smacking Power Gem high into the air, while Feebas fired off Water Pulse, which also got smacked into the air by Seviper. Both Power Gem and Water Pulse made contact close to the ceiling, causing an explosion that opened up a large hole in the ceiling, "Whoops."
"Talk about power! Those Poison Tails have actually managed to not only deflect Power Gem and Water Pulse, but also blasted a hole in the middle of the ceiling!" Lilian exclaimed, as both trainers lost points.
"Uh, that won't be an issue, will it?" Lincoln asked.
"No need to worry. The building is insured, and stuff like this happens more frequently than you realize," Lilian replied, just as rain from the passing storm began falling in, and right onto both Sliggoo and Feebas, causing bright light to erupt from both of them.
"Oh wow!" Veruca exclaimed, shocked at the turn of events.
"What's going on?" Lum asked.
"Sliggoo and Feebas are beginning to evolve!" Brock replied. Sliggoo's evolution energy took the form a dragon that flew into the air, screeching loudly, as Sliggoo began to grow larger and chubbier. It's tail grew thicker, and it grew two long horns that sloped backwards, as it evolved into Goodra. Feebas grew into a more yellow serpentine creature with a mosaic patterned tail and two long red strands of hair growing from its head.
"Goodra and Milotic have been registered to your Pokedex," Dexter stated.
"Oh wow! And you've learned some new moves yourself, Milotic!" Lincoln exclaimed.
"Simply outstanding! Its very rare for even ONE Pokemon to evolve during the final stage of a Contest, but we've just bore witness to two evolutions at once!" Mr. Contesta exclaimed.
"Yes. Quite a remarkable feat," Mr. Sukizo added.
"It's clear that both of Lincoln's Pokemon have answered his desire to win," Nurse Joy added.
"So, this 'evolution' thing is normal for Pokemon?" Mendo asked.
"Quite normal, actually. Pokemon grow as they battle, eventually evolving like what we just witnessed now," Nurse Joy replied.
"I don't care if they have evolved or not! They're still ugly Pokemon compared to my beautiful Pokemon! Seviper, use Poison Tail again and Persian, use Slash!" Veruca ordered.
"Alright, time to show them your new power! Goodra, use Dragon Pulse, and Milotic, you use Twister!" Lincoln instructed. Goodra fired off Dragon Pulse while Milotic used its tail to whip up a Twister attack. The two attacks merged together, not only causing Dragon Pulse to start moving in a drill like movement, but also making the Twister look more draconic.
"Astounding! Both Dragon Type moves have actually merged together, and appear to have powered the other one up!" Lilian exclaimed, as Veruca's points dropped down to nearly nothing. Seviper and Persian were too slow to react, as they got caught up in the fusion attack, and were sent down to defeat. This also resulted in Veruca loosing the rest of her points.
"And with 11 seconds to spare, Lincoln Loud is our big winner!" Lilian declared.
"Alright!" Lincoln cheered, as he went to embrace his two newly evolved Pokemon, "Goodra, Milotic, you both were amazing out there!"
"Heh, thanks Lincoln!" Goodra bashfully replied, liking the praise she received.
"I'm just glad we put this one and her philosophies in their place," Milotic added, as Veruca went to comfort her Pokemon.
"Dear Seviper and Persian, even in the face of defeat, you both are still beautiful," she said, as she recalled them, before heading out, as the audience gave Lincoln a round of applause.
"Not bad for his first contest!" Brock commented.
"Yeah! Maybe he'll try out for the Grand Festival too," Misty added, as the Judges approached Lincoln.
"And now, our head Judge, Mr. Contesta will now present out winner, Lincoln Loud, with the prestigious Celadon City Beauty Division Ribbon!" Lilian said, as Mr. Contesta held out a tray with the ribbon in question.
"That was a spectacular performance, young man. I hope we'll see more from you in future Contests," he said, as Lincoln accepted the Ribbon.
"Yes sir. I hope to enter more as well," Lincoln replied, as Mr. Sukizo came up to Lincoln with a gift box.
"I have something for you as well for your remarkable debut, Lincoln," he said, handing the box to Lincoln. He opened it, revealing a glass case with what appeared to be a beige colored egg with brown spots on it.
"An Egg?" Lincoln asked.
"Yes. Part of the many things we do in the Pokemon Fan Club is breed Pokemon and raise them to be remarkable. This Egg is one of the few surplus Eggs we acquired, so I figured you might want to try raising a Pokemon from the ground up," Mr. Sukizo replied.
"Whoa, that's really nice of you, Mr. Sukizo! So, what kind of Pokemon is in it?" Lincoln asked.
"That's the most remarkable thing about Eggs. You won't know until it hatches, and guessing is half the fun," Mr. Sukizo replied.
"And with that, we reach the end of the Beauty Division of the Celadon City Pokemon Contest! We'll see you all next week for the Tough Division Contest!" Lilian announced.
Later, at the Celadon Pokemon Center,
"Milotic, the Tender Pokemon, a Water Type, and the evolved form of Feebas. Milotic is the most beautiful Pokemon in the world. It lives at the bottoms of crystal-clear lakes, and surfaces to quell any hostility it senses. As it has inspired many an artist, many works of art are of Milotic. Upon evolving, Milotic learned the moves, Twister, Hydro Pump, Disarming Voice, Coil, Aqua Tail, Recover, and Safeguard.
"Goodra, the Dragon Pokemon, a Dragon Type, and the evolved form of Sliggoo. Its style of offense it to forcefully stretch out its retractable horns. The strike lands 100 times more powerful than any blow from a heavyweight boxer. Because it loves rain, it is often seen walking through the plains and in the mountains on rainy days. Upon evolving, Goodra has learned Aqua Tail," Dexter explained, as Lincoln scanned both of his newly evolved Pokemon, who were being observed by their new friends, sans Moroboshi, who was hitting on Nurse Joy, only to receive a Mega Punch from some of the Chansey, sending him flying.
"So, evolution means something different for Pokemon than it does for regular animals?" Mendo asked.
"That's right. But many Pokemon require different circumstances to induce their evolution, and many of those circumstances are extremely unique. Goodra and Milotic here are both fine examples of this," Brock replied.
"I know that Milotic evolves from Feebas if it has high enough Beauty appeal or is traded while holding a Prism Scale, but what do you mean about Goodra?" Lincoln asked.
"I've heard that in order for Sliggoo to evolve, it needs to be raining naturally. That means rain brought on by Rain Dance and the Ability Drizzle won't work," Misty replied.
"Still your Milotic is so pretty! Its tail is like a stained-glass window," Shinobu commented, enamored by Milotic's beauty.
"Yes. But as much as we'd love to stick around and chat some more, we need to get back home to Tomobiki," Megane pointed out.
"You're leaving already?" Misty asked.
"Yeah. One, because we were all invited by Mendo to come visit this place, and two, to get Darling under control," Lum said, holding a tied-up Moroboshi over her shoulder.
"Yeah, that would be a good idea to get him out of Kanto," Lincoln commented bluntly, still peeved at Moroboshi for nearly ruining his date with Milt and them.
"Yes, well, we need to go meet up with my family's chopper. Take care during your stay here," Mendo said to Lincoln.
"I will. And you all take care heading home. Oh, and Lum? Could you send my regards to Nana?" Lincoln requested.
"You can count on me!" Lum replied with a thumbs up, as she and the others left.
"WAIT, I STILL NEED TO GO TO THE MONSTER REALM TO BE WITH VEROSIKA AND MILT! WE WERE MEANT FOR EACH OTHER!" Moroboshi yelled, only to be ignored by everyone there.
"He's living proof that evolution for humans CAN go in reverse," Brock dryly stated.
"I should probably go and call my family and tell them about my win," Lincoln said, heading over to the Videophone.
Meanwhile, back at the Loud House,
"Alright, Lincoln won!" Luna cheered.
"He certainly earned it," Lucy replied.
"I've only seen evolution during the Progress Reports the Professor sends over. Is that really how it is for other Pokemon?" Lana asked.
"From what we just witnessed, I would assume so," Lisa replied.
"I'm more curious about that Egg Lincoln got from that one judge," Rita pointed out.
"Well, we should be getting a call from him any moment now. Maybe we'll get more information from him then," Lola replied.
"We should also see about getting his help with moving our stuff into our new house. Not only that, but it would allow him to portal over once he's finished his travels in Kanto," Lisa added.
"Oh yeah! He has Lapis!" Luan exclaimed. Just then, their wristwatches went off. They read out "Celadon City".
"Welp, that would be him. Let's get up there and talk to him," Rita said, as they all ascended the staircase, and made their way into Lisa and Lily's soon to be former bedroom. Lisa got on her chair, and picked up the receiver and answered the call. The screen came on, showing Lincoln's face.
"Hey guys!" Lincoln greeted.
"Hey bro. We saw your Contest," Luna greeted.
"We're all most proud that you managed to win over that Veruca woman," Lisa added.
"Yeah, but I got to tell you, she didn't make it easy for me. Her Persian and Seviper were tough," Lincoln replied.
"Yes, but what matters is that you managed to win, and you got a Ribbon to show for it, as well as some kind of egg," Rita replied.
"Yeah, what's the deal with the egg anyway?" Lana asked.
"Well, it was a gift from Mr. Sukizo. Apparently, the Pokemon Fan Club that he's president of also breed Pokemon so that members can raise them up from babies," Lincoln replied, showing them the Egg in question.
"I see. Fascinating!" Lisa commented.
"So, what are you hoping is going to hatch from it?" Lucy asked.
"Well, since I'm still kind of new to the whole Pokemon Trainer thing, I don't know a lot of Pokemon. And this Egg can hatch into just about anything. But Mr. Sukizo said that guessing is half the fun, so I'm going to be patient and wait for it to hatch," Lincoln replied.
"New life being brought into this world and nurtured. Wicked," Lucy commented.
"So, what all have you been up to during these past few days?" Rita asked. With that, Lincoln began to tell them what he's been up to since arriving in Celadon City.
