Chapter 79: Attack of the Prehistoric Pokemon Part 2
Authors Note: I would just like to point out something from the previous chapter; Everlue is a character from Fairy Tail. He was the first major villain the main characters had to face for a job. He's a perverted old man with a decidedly skewed view on what is beautiful and what is ugly.
Back in Grampa Canyon,
Having finished up a hearty lunch, Lincoln and his future Fathers in-law went back to searching for fossils. As they progressed, Lincoln continued to dig up more and more treasures, which he gave over to Taur, in exchange for two more Fossils, "Thanks for the fossils. I really appreciate it!" Lincoln said, as he stashed both fossils into his bag.
"Think nothing of it, Lincoln. After all, I'm sure the girls are going to go crazy for the accessories these items you gave us will make," Taur replied, holding a small, burlap sack full of the treasures Lincoln had excavated.
"Hey boy, I hope you intend to give such a gift to Nana, right?" Gid asked.
"W-Well, I'm sure that Taur could have his dwarven artisans make something simple enough for Nana. What would you say would make for a good accessory?" Lincoln asked his future minotaur father in-law.
"Hmm, I would say maybe a necklace charm. Perhaps something with this Stardust?" Taur suggested, holding up a bag of the rose-colored sand.
"Sounds perfect for Nana," Lincoln replied.
"By the way, boy, what were those Fossils that Gid and Stolas found for you?" Wolfgang asked.
"Gid found a Skull Fossil, which'll give me a Cranidos, while Stolas gave me a Sail Fossil, which'll allow me to get an Amaura," Lincoln replied.
"So, you've got three different Fossils now, right? Not a bad haul," Lucius replied.
"Yep. And between them, I'll have gotten myself at least one Rock and one Ice Type Pokemon, which'll give me at least one Pokemon from ALL 18 different types," Lincoln replied.
"How marvelous!" Stolas said, sounding intrigued at the very idea.
"Still, I wonder how everyone else is doing with their digs?" Lincoln wondered.
"Well, we do know that your sister and those other two have fossils of their own," Wolfgang replied.
"Yeah. But I wonder what the others will find themselves?" Lincoln replied. It was then they noticed some of the others making their way over to them. The group consisted of Misty, Bobby, Girl Jordan, Haiku, Stella, Zach, and Liam, "Hey guys, how goes the dig?"
"Slow, but very rewarding. We've been able to find treasures of our own, as well as two more fossils," Misty replied.
"So, what have you all found?" Akuma asked.
"Well, I managed to find a Helix Fossil. I'm going to get it restored into an Omanyte," Misty replied.
"As for me, I managed to rustle me up one o' them Armor Fossils," Liam added.
"Sweet! At least some of you managing to find some fossils," Lincoln replied.
"What about you? You find any fossils yourself?" Bobby asked.
"Well, actually it was Lucius and the others who found the three Fossils I have on me, but we worked out an arrangement; I give them enough treasures to make each other daughters nice accessories for gifts, and they let me have the Fossils they find," Lincoln replied.
"I see, in other words, both parties are trading for stuff that's valuable to the other. Pretty smart thinking," Haiku commented.
"So, which fossils did they give you?" Girl Jordan asked.
"I've been given a Jaw Fossil, a Sail Fossil, and a Skull Fossil," Lincoln replied.
"Sweet line up," Zach commented.
"You'll have to show us what they'll look like once you get them restored," Lucius stated.
"Maybe if we can head back to Pewter City to use the Fossil Restoration Machines they have there when we get to the next town, I can have Loona and Gwen deliver pictures of them to you guys," Lincoln replied.
"Sounds appropriate," Wolfgang replied. It was then he noticed something, "Hey, what's that?" he asked, pointing to a nearby cliff, where what appeared to be a Meowth was standing.
"Oh, that? That's a Meowth. They're a rather fickle species of Pokemon, and are fond of shiny objects. They can be quite feisty when they want to be," Lincoln replied.
"It probably belongs to someone around the dig site," Bobby theorized. But something occurred that proved Bobby right in the worst possible way.
"Ugh, where are those two?! Can't rely on humans to do anything right!" a nasally voice said. That very voice was one that Lincoln and his friends from Royal Woods immediately recognized.
"Hey, it's that Meowth that's always hanging out with those other two from Team Rocket!" Zach proclaimed, just as Jessie and James made their appearance.
"Travelling the world, plundering it's resources."
"All to enhance our prehistoric forces!"
"This duo shall NOT be stopped by the law!"
"We do what we want, while you stand in awe!"
Both of them got cut off as Meowth bounced off of their heads, "Can it with the motto, would ya?! Did you even place the dynamite like you were supposed to?!"
"Relax! The dynamite is in place, furball!" Jessie yelled, smacking Meowth into a nearby canyon wall, causing rocks to fall on top of him.
"And we're more than ready to not only blow this whole canyon sky high, but also scoop up all of those Pokemon Fossils," James added.
"WHAT?! They're going to blow up the entire canyon?!" Bobby exclaimed.
"This is bad! Everyone down in the dig sites are going to get caught up in the blast!" Misty added.
"We have to get everyone to evacuate!" Lucius proclaimed.
"You guys do that! I'll try and stop them and the dynamite!" Lincoln said, running off to stop the X-Rockets.
"We'll come too!" Stella said, as she, Girl Jordan, Haiku, and Rusty followed Lincoln. Meanwhile, Meowth was holding the fuse with a lighter in his hand.
"Ha-ha! Soon, we'll be rolling in some serious dough!" he said, lighting the fuse.
"Don't count on it, Meowth!" Lincoln said, as he and his friends confronted the X-Rockets.
"Oh, great! Not the brat again!" James cursed.
"Don't worry, Jimmy. They're too late to do anything. The fuse is already lit!" Meowth said, as the fuse began traveling along the line.
"Oh no!" Rusty exclaimed.
"We got to stop that fuse! Samurott, go and use Water Gun!" Stella said, sending out what appeared to be a large, quadruped otter like Pokemon with seashell like armor.
"We'll help out too! Panpour, Water Gun too!" Rusty said, sending out a small, blue and beige colored monkey Pokemon. Both of their Pokemon began firing Water Gun at the fuse, but they kept missing.
"After it! We have to put out that fuse!" Girl Jordan said, as they ran after the fuse.
"Oh no you don't! You're not getting in our way with this operation! Arbok and Ariados, go!" Jessie said, sending out Arbok and Ariados.
"Koffing, Sawk and Darmanitan! Keep that fuse lit!" James said, sending out Koffing, Sawk and Darmanitan, who all joined the chase after Lincoln and company.
"Keep it up, Samurott! You're bound to douse it eventually!" Stella said, as she and Girl Jordan rode on top of its back.
"You too, Panpour!" Rusty said, as it was also attempting to put out the fuse.
"Arbok, Poison Sting, Ariados, Sludge Bomb!" Jessie ordered. Both of her Pokemon fired off their respective attacks. Unfortunately, both of them kept missing their marks.
"These guys just don't know when to quit!" Rusty exclaimed.
"Pikachu, try to drive them off with Thunderbolt!" Lincoln instructed.
"I got you covered!" Pikachu replied, as he fired Thunderbolt at the X-Rockets, who remained undeterred, as they kept chasing them.
"Koffing, fire a Sludge atta-AAAAAH!" James cut himself off as he tripped on a rock, causing him, Jessie, and their Pokemon to wall start stumbling and rolling down the incline they were on like a boulder.
"We're never going to catch it at this rate!" Girl Jordan exclaimed, focused on the fuse.
"I think we might have more to worry about than the fuse!" Rusty exclaimed, as they all got caught up in the rolling X-Rockets, and fell all the way down to the bottom.
"Well, that hurt," Haiku commented. She then blushed upon feeling someone grabbing her butt, "H-Hey, who's got their hand on my butt?!"
"Oh, sorry! I'm not exactly in a good position to move away," Lincoln replied, just as the two of them saw the fuse running by them. They then saw several kegs of dynamite nearby, "Oh no! The dynamite!" everyone in the pile scrambled to try and get away, but kept tripping each other up. Eventually, only Pikachu was able to get out.
"Hang on, I got this!" he said, charging up his electric sacs.
"WAIT, PIKACHU, DON'T!" Lincoln warned, only to ignored, as Pikachu fired Thunderbolt at the dynamite. Everyone was horrified at what Pikachu had just done, even Pikachu himself, just as the dynamite exploded with far greater force, opening up the earth beneath them, causing them to fall into the hole. Nearby the explosion site, none of them noticed that Red, Stolas, Akuma, and Taur were helping evacuate the excavators, just as the cliff below them collapsed, causing them to fall into the chasm along with Lincoln and the others. Some of the nearby cliffs were weakened by the blast of the dynamite, causing large boulders to plug up the hole. Rusty's Panpour was the only one from the pile to make it out, albeit covered with dust and bruises. Brock, Misty, and all the others quickly arrived.
"Lincoln! Pikachu!" Brock called out, as Misty aided Panpour.
"This bad! I think I saw Lincoln and the others falling down beneath these boulders!" Clyde exclaimed.
"We can't waste any time! We have to dig them out!" Lucius proclaimed, as he and some of the others began to move the boulders out of the way.
"You guys hang tight! I'll go and get some more help!" Margo said, as she ran back to the main campsite, just as the center pile of boulders collapsed.
"This might take a while," Bobby commented.
"I just hope they're all ok," Leni said, as they continued digging.
Meanwhile, several miles below the surface,
Stirring from getting knocked out from the fall, Lincoln raised his hands, which oddly felt heavier than normal, as if something was on top of them. Open his eyes, his face lit up in a bright blush, for his hands were somehow positioned just underneath the skirts of Stella, Haiku and Girl Jordan, and when he raised both his hands, he got a full view of each of their butts, which, in Lincoln's opinion, had begun to get larger and plumper since their time in Kanto. Stella was wearing strawberry printed panties, Haiku wore lacey purple panties, while Girl Jordan had panties with pandas on them. Motion from the three of them indicated to Lincoln they were waking up.
"Ngh, that was awful!" Stella groaned, as she and the others regained consciousness. Upon feeling something weird at their backsides, she, along with Haiku and Girl Jordan turned their heads, and blushed brightly upon seeing Lincoln was holding up their skirts.
"N-N-Now hold on! I know this looks bad, but I can assure you, I wasn't trying to flip up your skirts!" Lincoln exclaimed defensively, as the girls scrambled off of him. They were able to distract themselves from the embarrassment of their situation by noticing their present location.
"Ugh, where are we? Looks like got blasted all the way to the moon," Jessie groaned, looking around the cave they were in.
"Or to the center of the Earth," Meowth said, catching everyone's attention, "This is a cave. The blast from the dynamite must've opened up a hole in the roof and we all fell in. We must be buried deep beneath the Earth's crust."
"B-B-BURIED?!" Jessie and James exclaimed, before angrily turning their attention to Lincoln and his friends.
"This is all your fault, you twerps!" Jessie blamed.
"Our fault?!" Rusty yelled.
"That's right! If you hadn't tried to play the hero and left that fuse alone, we wouldn't be in this predicament!" James yelled back.
"Well maybe if you guys never planted that dynamite in the first place, we wouldn't have had to try to stop you!" Girl Jordan yelled back.
"She has a point," Stolas said, as he, Taur, and Akuma got up on their feet, stumbling a bit, "If you didn't try using dynamite, none of this would have ever happened. So, in reality, you three are solely to blame for this."
"But the question now is how do we get back to the surface?" Red asked, as he came into view.
"Red? You got trapped down here too?" Lincoln asked.
"Yeah. Much like these guys, the canyon wall beneath me collapsed, and I was dragged down here with the avalanche," Red explained.
"Who cares who's at fault here or who's down here and how?! The only thing that matters now is getting out of here in one piece, just like this guy said! Look up there!" Meowth said, pointing to the cave ceiling, which was completely plugged up by large rocks. James couldn't help but chuckle in a smug, confident manner.
"Oh, James, you must've thought of something brilliant to be chuckling like that!" Jessie exclaimed hopefully.
"Hmm? We're all doomed," James merely replied, only to get pounded in the back of the head by Jessie.
"That's the last time I have faith in you having a plan!" she proclaimed.
"Hmm, we can't have Stolas use his magic to blast it open. It may end up causing an even worse cave-in," Akuma commented.
"Maybe there's somewhere we can climb up near the surface where we can tunnel our way out," Lincoln suggested.
"Just give me a moment to have a look around," Stolas replied, as his eyes turned a bright, emerald green color. He then began to twist his head around, seeming to look around the cave.
"Amazing, isn't it? Stolas' Night Vision Skill will find any good points where we can get close to the surface," Taur commented. Stolas stopped turning his head around, and his eyes reverted back to red.
"Unfortunately, I don't see any way we can get close to the surface from here. We're just going to have to wait for the people up there to undo that blockage," Stolas replied. Just then, Pikachu's ears twitched.
"Uh, Lincoln? I think we might have company," he warned.
"How so?" Lincoln asked. He didn't get a verbal response, as he and the others saw eyes piercing through the darkness.
"W-What are they?" Rusty questioned, as the forms the eyes belonged to came into view. There was about twenty of four different Pokemon there, including a small, blue hermit crab like Pokemon with a helix like shell, a larger form of the smaller one, but with longer tentacles, a star shaped beak, and spikes on its shell, a small, brown, horseshoe crab like Pokemon with four yellow legs, a black underbelly with red eyes, and a tall, brown mantis like Pokemon with long, scythe like claws.
"Whoa, what are those?!" Lincoln questioned, as he scanned them.
"Omanyte and its evolved form, Omastar, the Spiral Pokemon, both are Rock and Water Types. Omanyte is a member of an extinct species. It paddles through water with its ten tentacles, looking like its drifting along. Omastar's sharp fangs can crush rock, but this Pokemon can attack only prey that comes within range of its long tentacles. It is thought that Omastar became extinct because its shell grew too large.
Kabuto, and its evolved form, Kabutops, the Shellfish Pokemon, both are Rock and Water Types. While some say that this species has gone extinct, Kabuto sightings are apparently very common in remote corners of the world. Kabuto molt their shells every three days, making them harder and harder. Kabutops slices up prey and sucks out the fluids. The discarded remains of the prey become food for other Pokemon. While the exact cause of its extinction is unknown, Kabutops were thought to be highly aggressive, and inhabited warm seas," Dexter explained.
"Wait, they're all living Fossil Pokemon?!" Girl Jordan exclaimed.
"Do you realize what this means, James?" Jessie exclaimed happily.
"We're going to be rich! We can open a prehistoric Pokemon Park larger than any other park in the world!" James replied, equally as happy.
"Ah, I might even get my own talk show!" Meowth gushed happily.
"Somehow, I don't think those Pokemon are nearly as happy as you guys," Red commented, seeing their bloodshot eyes.
"Red's right, you know? Those Pokemon look pretty angry. Just look at their eyes," Haiku added.
"It almost looks like they just woke up," Taur stated.
"That might explain it! These Pokemon weren't really fossilized, but rather, they were all just sleeping. The dynamite blast must've woken them up!" James proclaimed.
"Eh, some alarm clock!" Meowth chimed in, sounding somewhat unnerved upon seeing how angry the fossil Pokemon were.
"Bah, whatever! Let's just get catching! James?" Jessie said, readying her Pokeball.
"Right behind you, Jessie," James replied, as the two of them hurled their Pokeballs at the Fossil Pokemon, only for one of the Kabutops to smack them right back into Meowth. It then raised its claw in a commanding manner.
"Friends, get ready to eliminate these intruders!"
"Yeah, somehow I don't think they'll just let us walk away from this," Rusty commented.
"Guess we're going to have to battle our way out of here!" Lincoln said, as he sent out the rest his team, consisting of Inferna, Spirit, Dragonair, and Grovyle.
"Right behind you, Lincoln!" Rusty said, as he sent out a Chesnaught.
"We can't afford to get stuck here! Saur, you're up!" Red called, sending out a massive, frog like Pokemon with a large, blooming flower on its back.
"I'll lend my aid too," Haiku said, as she sent out a Decidueye. Lincoln took a moment to scan them.
"Chesnaught, the Spiny Armor Pokemon, a Grass and Fighting Type, and the fully evolved form of Chespin. Its gentle disposition would have it avoid conflict, but it gives opponents a good thrashing with its thorned fists if the situation calls for it.
Venusaur, the Seed Pokemon, a Grass and Poison Type. While it basks in the sunlight, it converts the light into energy. As a result, it is more powerful during the summertime.
Decidueye, The Arrow Quill Pokemon, a Grass and Ghost Type, and the fully evolved form of Rowlet. It cunningly conceals arrow quills in its wings. It launches these quills with such precision, that they can pierce a pebble from over 100 yards," Dexter explained.
Meanwhile, back on the surface,
It didn't take long for the group trying to dig out Lincoln and the others to catch the attention of several of the people from the dig site, "The X-Rockets tried to blow up the canyon with dynamite!" Misty explained to Officer Jenny.
"Lincoln, Stella and all the others must be trapped underneath all these boulders!" Brock added.
"Officer, is there any way we can get help with digging them out?" Lucius asked.
"Unfortunately, the bulldozers can't make it down here. Our only choice at this point is to dig by hand," Officer Jenny replied.
"But don't worry! We'll all chip in to help out!" the excavation leader proclaimed, as several other people went to help them out.
"Let's get some of our Pokemon to help out too!" Gary suggested, sending out a large, yellow humanoid Pokemon with what appeared to be a large tail, a red star on its forehead, and a holding a spoon, "Kadabra, use Confusion to help move these boulders!" Kadabra began using Confusion to help move the rocks out of the way.
"As much as I hate to say it, but that's a pretty smart idea, Gary," Leaf commented.
"I'll say. Go, Medicham!" Misty said, sending out her Medicham, "Use Confusion to help us get these rocks out of the way.
"Graveler and Bronzong, we need your help too!" Brock said, sending out Graveler and Bronzong as well. With that, moving the boulders went by faster than before.
"Y'know, you can help out anytime, Gid!" Lucius yelled at Gid, who was just lazing about on a nearby rock.
"Mmm, not my style. Besides, I want to see how the kid deals with getting out of this one," Gid replied.
Meanwhile, back down in the caves,
Jessie and James' Pokemon were running away from most of the Omanyte, Omastar and Kabuto that were chasing them, "Arbok, Ariados, why are you both running away?!" Jessie yelled.
"That's right! Koffing, Sawk, and Darmanitan, stand your ground!" James added, only to find that all five of their Pokemon were swarmed by the Fossil Pokemon. While they had their hands full, Lincoln, Rusty, Red, Haiku, and Stella were fending off the Kabutops that were attempting to attack them.
"Alright Chesnaught, use Seed Bomb!" Rusty instructed. Chesnaught then fired off seed like objects, which looked to have caused some major damage to two of the Kabutops.
"Grovyle, use Leaf Blade!" Lincoln instructed. The leaves on Grovyle's wrists began glowing green, as they merged into a blade of sorts, which it then used to slash away at another Kaputops.
"Saur, use Leaf Storm!" Red's Venusaur then fired off a wild flurry of leaves, only for one of the Kabutops to fire off a freezing wind attack, which not only pushed back Leaf Storm, but also froze the leaves as well, "Tsk, I wasn't expecting any of these Fossil Pokemon to use Icy Wind!"
"Dragonair, Inferna, go in for a Double Iron Tail!" Lincoln instructed. Inferna hitched a ride on Dragonair, as they closed in on the Kabutops. When they were close enough, they then unleashed Iron Tail on two of the Kabutops, "Alright! Now Spirit, use Earth Power!" Spirit slammed its tail on the ground, causing the ground beneath another Kabutops to open up with volcanic power, damaging them in the process, "Alright! We just have to focus on moves that Rock and Water Types are weakest against!"
"You human intruders may will NOT get the best of us!" the lead Kabutops proclaimed, as it aimed for Lincoln directly.
"Shit! Lincoln, watch out!" Akuma called out, as he, Stolas, and Taur went to the boy's aid, only to stop when Kabutops stopped. It looked to be looking around the cave, as if it was sensing something. The other Fossil Pokemon must've been sensing what it was sensing too, as they all ditched the Pokemon they were battling, and ran off.
"That was weird," Stolas commented.
"Why do you think they ran off?" Stella wondered.
"Oh, who cares why they ran away!" Jessie proclaimed in relief.
"We're alive!" James added. However, their joy was short lived, as the sound of something flying through the air echoed through the caves.
"Ah! I think I hear something!" Meowth exclaimed. And he was right. That something was big, vicious, and came in the form of an Aerodacytl, which perched itself on a nearby rock.
"Who dares invade our territory?!" Aerodactyl demanded, sounding furious.
"What is that thing?!" Akuma exclaimed.
"It's an Aerodactyl!" Red exclaimed, as he scanned it.
"Aerodactyl, the Fossil Pokemon, a Rock and Flying Type. Aerodactyl is a ferocious, predatory Pokemon from ancient times. Its teeth are like saw blades, and can shred skin to tatters – even the skin of Steel Type Pokemon. This Male Aerodactyl is level 54, and knows the moves Ancient Power, Rock Slide, Ancient Power, Wing Attack, Roar, Agility, Crunch, Stone Edge, Iron Head, Giga Impact, and the Egg Move, Dragon Breath," Red's Pokedex explained.
"It definitely does not look friendly in the slightest," Taur commented, sounding a bit unnerved upon hearing the part about Aerodactyl's teeth.
"This one looks a lot stronger than the one you battled in Porta Vista, Lincoln," Rusty commented.
"That's probably why the other Pokemon ran away," Jessie commented, as Aerodactyl began to fly right at them.
"Crap! Run for it!" Lincoln called out. And everyone did just that, while Aerodactyl gave chase.
"What's our plan to get away from it, Lincoln?!" Girl Jordan asked. Lincoln looked around the cave, but could find nothing that could possibly help.
"I don't know! Just keep running and try to put some distance between us and it! And in the meantime, try to get your Pokemon back inside their Pokeballs!" Lincoln replied.
"Oh, right! Saur, return!" Red said, recalling Saur. Rusty, Girl Jordan, Haiku, Stella, Jessie and James all did the same with their Pokemon.
"Alright, now to get my Pokemon back inside!" Lincoln said.
"Give us a moment Lincoln! I'll buy you guys some time!" Dragonair said, as it went on the attack, firing Ice Beam at Aerodactyl, only for it to dodge, and use Iron Head on Dragonair, sending it crashing into Inferna, Grovyle, and Spirit.
"Ok, that one hurt," Grovyle commented. From up above, they all noticed dust coming from the blockage in the roof.
"Lincoln!" they could just barely hear Brock calling them.
"Are you alright, Lincoln?!" Leni could be heard calling.
"Yeah, we're fine for the most part! Just get us out of here!" Lincoln called, just as Aerodactyl swooped down and caught him and Red in its feet, and began to fly up towards the blockage. Pikachu, Inferna, and Grovyle managed to hitch a ride on Aerodactyl's tail, just as the blockage gave way. Dragonair and Spirit followed closely behind.
"Looks like that's our time to get out of here! Hold on tight!" Stolas said, as he turned into a shadowy form. All the others latched onto him, as he rocketed after Aerodactyl.
Meanwhile, up on the surface, the rescue team had just cleared out the last of the boulders they needed to move, which opened up the hole in the ground, "Everybody, clear out!" Officer Jenny called, as everyone got out of the way, just as Aerodactyl flew out of the hole, followed by Dragonair, Spirit, and Stolas. Aerodactly shook off Pikachu, Inferna, and Grovyle. Somewhere in the whole mess, Lincoln somehow dropped his Pokedex, which landed right in Wolfgang's hands.
"Pikachu, Inferna, Grovyle!" Misty called, as they landed right in front of them.
"Pikachu, where's Lincoln?!" Leni asked.
"He's up there!" Pikachu replied, pointing to Aerodactyl, which had just landed on a nearby hill.
"Well, at least we're out of that cave," Lincoln groaned, as he and Red looked up at Aerodactyl.
"Now you will pay the price for trespassing!" it screeched.
"Oh no!" Leni exclaimed. Inferna, Dragonair, Spirit, and Grovyle all took a stand.
"Hey, you overgrown flying lizard! Let our trainer go!" Inferna demanded.
"Or what? The way I see it, you're down there, and I'm up here!" Aerodactyl taunted. The four Pokemon growled in irritation.
"WE'LL SHOW YOU!" they proclaimed, as they all began glowing brightly.
"What the…?!" Lucius exclaimed.
"No way!" Leaf exclaimed.
"All four of them at once?!" Lincoln added, as the four of them began to evolve. Dragonair evoled into a Dragonite, while Inferna grew much larger, and her horn split off into two on either side of her head. She also grew a pair of large wings, and turned a bright orange color. Spirit also grew larger, and took on a more dragon shaped body. As for Grovyle, the leaf on its head merged back into its head, as it began to grow taller. The leaves on its wrists split off into just two on each wrist, it sprouted six, yellow orbs on its back, and its tail grew into what could be described as a small fir tree. When the light died off, they all roared, signifying their newfound power.
"Charizard, Dragonite, Sceptile, and Flygon have been registered to your Pokedex," Dexter said.
"Amazing!" Misty said in awe.
"They've all evolved into their final forms!" Brock added.
"Amazing!" Pikachu added.
"Just what are they now? How does this contraption open up?" Wolfgang wondered, as Dexter opened up in his paws.
"Charizard, the Flame Pokemon, a Fire and Flying Type, and the evolved form of Charmeleon. It is said that Charizard's fire burns hotter if it has experienced harsh battles. The flames it expels are hot enough to melt boulders, but it is also a proud Pokemon that will never use its flames on a weaker opponent. It flies around, looking for opponents stronger than itself to battle.
Dragonite, the Dragon Pokemon, a Dragon and Flying Type. A kindhearted Pokemon that is also known as the 'Sea Incarnate'. It is said to make its home somewhere in the ocean, and will help any wrecked ships to shore.
Sceptile, the Forest Pokemon, a Grass Type, and the fully evolved form of Treecko. The leaves on its arms are as sharp as swords. It agilely leaps about the branches on trees to strike opponents.
Flygon, the Mystic Pokemon, a Ground and Dragon Type, and the fully evolved form of Trapinch. Known as the 'Desert Spirit', it creates sandstorms by beating its wings to hide in. The sound of its wings flapping resembles singing. Those who are entranced by it get lured into the sandstorm and become Flygon's prey," Dexter explained. Inferna, Dragonite, and Flygon all took flight at Aerodactyl, while Sceptile ran after on foot. Aerodactyl was getting ready to eat Lincoln and Red when it noticed the three flying at it.
"Tsk, can't even enjoy a good meal!" Aerodactyl complained, as it flew off, still holding onto Lincoln and Red.
"Wow, you're Pokemon all evolved right when you needed them the most, Lincoln! That's incredible!" Red commented, sounding impressed at the feat they had just accomplished.
"Yeah. And Inferna should be the proudest of them all. If Damian could see her now, he'd be so proud of her!" Lincoln exclaimed.
"My evolution is proof that I've come a long way since joining you, Lincoln! And I'll make use of the fruits of that labor by saving you and your friend from Aerodactyl!" Inferna said, as she fired Flamethrower at Aerodactyl, who weaved out of the way. Dragonite and Spirit fired off Ice Beam and Dragon Breath respectively, alongside Inferna's Flamethrower, accidentally striking Lincoln and Red in the process, "Oops, SORRY!" she winced.
"It's alright, Inferna, just try to be more careful with your aim!" Lincoln called back. It was then that Sceptile was able to leap high enough to face Aerodactyl.
"Taste my Leaf Blade!" he yelled, as he then used Leaf Blade to slash at Aerodactyl, who lost its grip on both Lincoln and Red, causing them to fall.
"Quick! Catch them!" Dragonite called, as he and Spirit flew over and caught them.
"Phew, thanks Dragonite. And you too, Spirit and Sceptile," Lincoln said, as they landed, leaving Inferna to face Aerodactyl.
"You cost me my meal! Now you must pay the price!" Aerodactyl said, as it fired off Rock Slide.
"Inferna, quick, use Protect!" Lincoln called out. Inferna brought up Protect, which allowed it to avoid damage from Rock Slide, but it went down just as Aerodactyl used Giga Impact on her, sending her into a canyon wall, "No, Inferna!" Lincoln called, as Aerodactyl readied itself to attack the still downed Inferna, when….
*ROAR*
A huge roar echoed through the canyon, and a powerful bolt of electricity rained down on Aerodactyl from above, causing it to crash into the canyon wall, and rolled down the cliffs until landing with a resounding thud on the ground, "Whoa, was that a Thunder attack?!" Red questioned.
"Look there!" Spirit exclaimed, pointing to a nearby hill. There, standing on top of it was an imposing, yellow lion like Pokemon with two long saber-teeth, and a purple cape that sort of looked like a cloud. It also appeared to have a tail made of lightning as well.
"No way… that's the Legendary Pokemon, Raikou!" Gary exclaimed.
"No way, that's Raikou?!"
"I've never seen one in person before!"
"It's extraordinary!"
"So that's a Legendary Pokemon?" Akuma questioned, as Wolfgang scanned it.
"Raikou, the Thunder Pokemon, an Electric Type. This Legendary Pokemon from Johto Legends is said to have fallen with lightning. It can fire thunderbolts from the rain cloud on its back," Dexter explained.
"Oh wow, a Legendary Raikou!" James proclaimed.
"Come on, we can catch it and Aerodactyl and sell them off to the highest bidder!" Jessie declared, as the X-Rockets made a beeline straight for Raikou. However, Raikou didn't seem to agree with their way of thinking, as it fired off a Thunder Attack, which struck the X-Rockets, sending them flying.
"WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" they yelled, as they disappeared into the blue horizon. The resulting blast caused something to roll up to Misty's ankle. Meanwhile, Raikou turned its attention to Lincoln, then back to Aerodactyl.
'Time to see if he truly is worthy of the Rainbow Wing,' it thought to itself, as it leapt down onto the canyon floor, just before Aerodactyl, who was struggling to get back up.
"What's going on down there?" Lincoln wondered.
"I don't know… Maybe Raikou is getting ready to finish off Aerodactyl?" Red theorized.
"What?! We can't let that happen! After all, Aerodactyl's behavior isn't entirely its fault. It just got a rude awakening from that dynamite blast!" Lincoln said, as he slid down to the canyon floor.
"Lincoln, wait!" Red exclaimed, as Raikou looked to be gearing up for another electric blast.
"This will make sure you're as extinct as everything else in this canyon!" Raikou proclaimed, just as Lincoln got between them.
"Raikou, wait! You don't have to finish off Aerodactyl!" Lincoln exclaimed.
"What is Lincoln doing?!" Ronnie Anne exclaimed.
"It looks like he's trying to keep Raikou from finishing Aerodactyl!" Stella commented.
"Makes sense, if you think about it. There were several other living fossil Pokemon down in that cave when that dynamite exploded," Rusty commented.
"Please Raikou, Aerodactyl was just cranky after it got woken up by a dynamite blast! Wouldn't you be the same way if somEone interrupted your sleep?!" Lincoln said, trying to reason with Raikou, who only stared into Lincoln's eyes, seeing an unwavering determination and sense of justice. Raiko then conceded, and turned away.
"It would appear that Ho-Oh was right to give you a Rainbow Wing," Raikou said, as it leapt away. All the while, Aerodactyl was stunned at Lincoln's actions.
"Human, why would you come to my defense? I tried to eat you and that other human," it asked.
"It's as I said. You were just cranky from getting woken up for the first time since ancient times. That's hardly a reason for anyone to take a life," Lincoln replied.
"You truly are a bizarre human, but you seem like a good one at that," Aerodactyl commented.
"Yeah, I get that a lot. If you want, I can show you what the modern world is like," Lincoln offered. Aerodactyl was truly stunned now, but took a moment to consider the offer.
"Hmm, well, I would like to see something besides just the inside of that cave, and you did come to my aid just now. Alright, I'll go along," Aerodactyl agreed.
"Great!" Lincoln said, as he got out an Ultra Ball, and tossed it at Aerodactyl, sucking it in. The ball shook while in the air, before falling to the ground. It only rocked once before snapping shut.
"Aerodactyl has been registered to your Pokedex," Dexter explained, as the others made their way over to Lincoln, just as the Ultra Ball warped away.
"You're really something else, Lincoln. Now you've caught a wild Fossil Pokemon!" Clyde commented.
"Yes, well, I just had to do what came naturally," Lincoln replied, as Officer Jenny climbed up onto a nearby mound.
"Attention everyone! Due to the unstable and unsafe structure of some parts of the canyon, as made evident by that hole made by the X-Rockets, I'm officially shutting down this Fossil Dig!" she proclaimed.
"Yeah, I guess that does make some sense," Gary commented.
"At least we were all able to find some Fossils," Leaf commented.
"No doubt about it. I'll be looking for somewhere to get them restored!" Lincoln commented, before turning to his future father in-laws, "I know that this little expedition went a bit more wildly than I would've liked, but it was still nice being able to spend some time bonding."
"Likewise, my boy. And don't worry. We'll have the treasures you gave us fashioned into first-rate accessories for the girls," Lucius replied.
"And I hope they'll love them," Lincoln replied.
"I know they will, sport. So, I suppose you're going to continue to your next Gym Battle?" Taur asked.
"That's right. We'll continue heading for Fuchsia City once we're leave out of here," Lincoln replied, as he recalled his Pokemon.
"And that's where you'll spend the day with our wives, right?" Lucius asked.
"That is my plan. I'm wanting to check out the Safari Zone while we're there, so we can probably do that," Lincoln replied.
"Well, you may want this for then," Wolfgang said, returning Lincoln's Pokedex.
"My Pokedex! I wondered where I dropped it!" Lincoln exclaimed, happy to get it back. Stolas then opened a portal to the Monster Realm.
"Well, in any case, we hope to hear from you again," Stolas said.
"Sounds good. By the way, Blitz and his co-workers mentioned an interest in that party in Stone Town and at the Big-P Ranch. Is there a way to contact them to let them know we arrived?" Lincoln asked.
"Not directly, but you can have Octavia relay a message to me, which I'll then give to them," Stolas replied.
"Sounds good," Lincoln replied, as Stolas and the others returned to the Monster Realm.
"I should get going too. While I don't particularly like Earth or any of your Earthlings, this experience was enlightening, to say the least," Gid replied, as he went to leave himself, leaving Lincoln with his friends.
"Well, this little outing has been eventful to say the least," Goh commented, as they began heading back up to the main road.
"I'll say. But at least each of us have managed to find at least one Fossil," Misty replied.
"Now the question is 'where should we go to get them restored'?" Ronnie Anne added.
"I know of only two places in the Kanto Region that have the facilities to restore fossil Pokemon. Those being Pewter City and Cinnabar Island," Brock pointed out.
"Maybe once we get to the next town, I can warp us to Pewter City so we can get our Fossils restored," Lincoln suggested.
"And we can head to Cinnabar Island in our off time to do the same," Zach added, as they arrived at the busses.
"Well, it was great seeing you all again. Hopefully we'll be able to get together soon," Lincoln said.
"Likewise, little Loud. Hopefully, the next time will be a lot calmer," Bobby replied, as they boarded the bus.
"Be careful on your journey, Linkey!" Leni said, as she was the last to enter the bus. Soon, every car, truck and bus there took off.
"Well, we'd better get moving ourselves," Brock said, as the three of them got out their bikes.
"Oh yeah! That reminds me!" Misty said, as she pulled out, much to the boy's shock and amazement, a Pokemon Egg of her own, but it had red and blue spots on it.
"No way! Is that another Pokemon Egg?!" Lincoln exclaimed.
"That's right. After Raikou shot Aerodactyl out of the sky, it just rolled up to me," Misty replied.
"So, are you planning to take care of it?" Brock asked, as Misty placed the Egg in her bike's basket.
"That is my intention. After all, Lincoln's got his own Egg to care for," Misty replied.
"I wonder if you'll find one for yourself, Brock?" Lincoln chimed in.
"That would be nice. Being able to raise a baby Pokemon from scratch," Brock replied, as the three of them began pedaling off.
Meanwhile, at Team Rocket's Main HQ,
An airship had just arrived in the heliport of Team Rocket HQ. On the helipad, Petrel was waiting, his sleazy smirk never changing. The airship hatch began to open, revealing Proton, along with another Team Rocket Grunt. He had black hair, and burn marks covering most of his face, which had a vindictive expression, "Hey there, Lt. Proton!" Petrel greeted in a taunting manner. Proton sneered at the "lieutenant" remark. Petrel was the kind of guy that wouldn't let someone as high and mighty as Proton live down such a punishment as his demotion.
"Admin Petrel… we have acquired all the necessary supplies and equipment needed for the mission Master Giovanni wants us to carry out in Royal Woods," Proton said, as the grunts wheeled out the crates that were on the ship. Proton took a moment to look inside one of the boxes, and was pleased.
"Hmm, excellent work! This will ensure we can carry out the mission without any issue," Petrel replied, as he then noticed the man with burn marks on his face, "Uh, who's this guy? I'm pretty sure he's wasn't on the roster of grunts selected for the mission."
"You mean Alexander? He's a hard worker, for sure. He practically begged me to try to schmooze you into letting him on the mission. Apparently, he has some beef with one of the American brat's sisters," Proton replied.
"Hmm, making use of his hostility towards one of our targets for the sake of the mission… I can respect that. Alright, I'll let him on, but you have to tell him that we need to take the brat's family alive," Petrel agreed.
"That I can do," Proton replied. All the while, Alexander was helping out with off loading the supplies, his thoughts were on one particular Loud Sister.
'Luan Loud, mark my words, I will make you suffer the same way you made me suffer,' he thought to himself.
